Description

“The desire to capture the wonderful, delicate sensations of skin that is clean and soft to the touch was the source of inspiration in creating the perfume “Fior di Panna“. The defining element of this fragrance is expressed by its refined discretion. It’s precious ingredients are composed artistically to reveal the finest qualities of Damask Rose, Ylang Ylang, Iris and Lily-of-the-Valley brightened by nuances of Italian Bergamot and Clary Sage on lightly powdery background that embraces you with warm notes of Sandalwood and Vanilla Absolute. This perfume embodies the ultimate expressions of femininity…” — press release of the brand. The nose behind this fragrance is Lorenzo Dante Ferro.

Fior di panna means “flower of cream” or “creamy flower” in Italian, and indeed, it is a creamy floral fragrance. The opening is very soapy, with a somewhat bitterish undertone – maybe the sage -, then dries down to a soft, creamy, slightly vanillaish fragrance, very feminine, elegant, not too sweet-gourmand. It reminds me of L’Artisan Parfumeur’s sadly discontinued Jour de Fete, because of the light vanilla-heliotrope dry-down. I guess the fragrance notes contain some heliotrope and musk too. Many perfume fans in Hungary compare it to Villoresi’s Teint de Neige, but Fior di Panna is not so dense, not so choking sweet fragrance.

Clean, powdery and delicious. I got a sample in a “discovery box” from the perfume society and had to get a full bottle. It’s a truly lovely perfume : elegant, warm and inviting. I get a lot of vanilla from it but the bergamot, sandalwood and overall “soapy” vibe reminds me of Sicily by D and G (a favourite of mine). With that said it totally stands on its own and is such a treat to own and enjoy. A beautiful bottle too!
