Smell like something from The Fragrance Kitchen. That’s not a compliment. TFK is infamous for these “unfinished” floral woody aromas. No doubt, the musk is omnipresent but the spices are definitely the straw that stirs the drink. Faint traces of orange blossom and mimosa carefully weaves around the synthetic air thus shaping the character which is Fanos. The warm spice/fresh spice battle is ongoing and the fight for supremacy feels necessary. Hours later and the search for a victor is bleak. What’s not bleak are loose grains of sandalwood which plasters the talc texture underneath the violet creating an embankment of powder. I waited a long time to try this. To my chagrin, this feels constructed from the hands of a tyro. I’ll give Gritti another shot in the future.
