I have never smoked tobacco in my life and i don’t intent to however i love wearing tobacco based perfume as i think they are very masculine, Nishane is one of my preferred house and as usual i blind bought fan your flame as I wanted to try the tobacco based fragrance from this house and perfumer is Jorge lee, name is based on Persian poet Rumi saying of “Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.” I love this saying as i love like-minded folks who can push me to become the best person i can and this saying reminded me of my favourite song of all time “Light my fire ” by The Doors.
As you spray this perfume you smell bit of coconut with booze (Rum) and this last for few minutes only and then tobacco which is main star of this perfume come’s in the picture , this tobacco is very dry almost the smell which you get when you smoke sheesah (hookah) and through the vapes and can smell the tobacco in the air . The tobacco in the perfume is reminding me of another great and underrated tobacco fragrance which is tobacco oud by tom ford, where the tobacco is very dry and not very typical of other famous tobacco fragrance like tobacco vanilla or herod where tobacco is very sweet mainly because of vanilla in It , Middle notes last for abot two hours and then it come into the base which consist of oakmoss and cedar which are blended well to give a woody feeling along with tobacco . I have enjoyed the feeling fan your flame has evoked however I am little disappointed with Projection, I was expecting my flame to burn for long and flames to reach its zenith, my flame burned for 8 to 10 hours however it never reaches the zenith I was hoping for however still an enjoyable experience. A intoxicating and sensual take on the woody, sweet tobacco genre of fragrances
You get a full and tropical coconut, deep rum, tobacco smoke, aromatic qualities and I am slightly reminded of licorice at times.
Overall more sweet than I thought, but still unisex.
The fragrance for a passionate night out or wild adventures
7 to 9 hours longevity and moderate projection, but impressive sillage.

Perfect name. This is a scent, that for me, takes the heat of my body to ignite the magic. Like WildDove, at first the notes didn’t quite come together for me. The super ‘tropical’ coconut and the super ‘country’ tobacco leaf were at odds with my personal scent memories. I have strong associations for both, and neither had mixed before.
The coconut is very realistic and evocative of tropical climes. The tobacco smells like leaves hung to dry in tobacco barns across the south. But as soon as they settled into my skin, a scent alchemy happened that gave the coconut a singed earthy edge as it warmed. It became a toasted pleasure, as if the scent was from coconut roasting over an open fire. You can smell the husk being scorched, the sweetness of the pulp as it bakes. Incredible experience! Fan Your Flames describes the sensual heat needed to bring out the enchantment in this summer fragrance! One of the most compelling coconut scents ever!

I like it but it’s not a love.
Strong cedar fragrance with tobacco and boozy under tones. I get no coconut. To be honest it’s been hyped a little by the niche crowd, and from that I’m a little disappointed. I really wanted to love it more.
Get a sample, you may like it. It’s a quality fragrance, just not my cup of tea.

So many notes here I like, yet they never came together harmoniously for me. I get a lot of tobacco and cedar, and the rest is an odd jumble — just did not sit well with me. Skews masculine IMO. Unusual juice. Try before you buy. I must “pass” on this one.

    -Fiyat/Performans: 8
    -Koku güzelliği:7,5
It has a very strong opening. It is opening with sharp and bitter coconut with Rom. I often noticed this for 10-15 minutes in this opening, and the oak moss settled. After the first half hour, the tonka bean becomes more distinctive and begins to sweeten the smell of the tobacco used. A sweetness that does not bother people.
I do not like the way in which the content of Indian walnut is used. If you can use more and have a more boozy air, I think it could be much better.
    Score: 8,5
    Longevity: 10
Sillage 9 (Good sillage for 3-4 hours)
    Price/Performance: 8
    Scent: 7,5

Stunning juice. To me the coconut is not prominent. I get a kind of marsipan feeling in the opening. Very unique and sophisticated. Then it become more woody with lots of cedar. Reminds me a little bit of by kilian’s straight to heaven.

Taking a page from the inspirational poetry of Sufi poet Rumi, astonishing new house Nishane from Istanbul presents this oriental gourmand that takes a page from the uncommon and gorgeous resinous offerings of Slumberhouse and delivers in spades. The fragrance beautifully combines notes of coconut, rum, tobacco, tonka bean, oakmoss and chinese cedar into a pleasing ebbing and flowing juice which is delightfully sweet from start to finish. Not overpowering but very pronounced and long lasting, the perfume evokes memories of being on a tropical island and of happy times. Indeed it begs to wear it and “Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.”

This is a beautiful spicy-woody offering with warm gourmand facets showing exceptional balance and harmony. The moment I smelled it a memory of scents flashed before me. By Kilan’s Straight to Heaven and Frapin’s 1270, Slumberhouse’s Ore and Kiste, and Zoologist’s Bat went racing through my mind’s eye, finally arriving at Nshane’si Fan Your Flames.
There is an overall warmth to Fan Your Flames which suits its spicy character and sets the tone for its heart notes of tobacco and tonka, but it doesn’t become too heavy and never feels like it’s dragging at any point. Instead, there’s a subtle freshness, a light sweetness that’s achieved through the addition of coconut and rum, and perhaps a hint of mango, which makes the composition feel brighter and more inviting, more wearable overall. The tobacco is dark and spicy, it pairs very well with a dry, aromatic cedar and subtle oakmoss. But again, this dryness is balanced by the coconut and the boozy, liqueur-like sweetness of the rum. As far as rum compositions are concerned this one should not be considered a strong one. The rum is in the perfect proportion–adding to the overall quality of the scent without dominating it or becoming its main character. A light, mineralic quality can be found in the heart and base, somewhere among the cedar, oakmoss, and tobacco. It lends a natural earthiness to the picture by hinting at it rather than shouting it out and demanding it. The coconut, FYF’s star top note, is white and creamy, semi-sweet, but again never so dominant as to distract from the other accords at play. The tonka accord emerges deep in the base, and it brings a warm, nutty character to the scent. Though it’s hard to put your finger on this fragrance and say exactly what it is, that’s not due to any unconfident, ambiguous nature of the scent, but rather the excellent balance, harmony, and proportion of its notes. Everything works together equally to create an overall wonderful, spicy-woody gourmand unisex fragrance.
FYF is an extrait, and as such it has reserved projection with very good longevity. It leaves a noticeable scent trail, and creates a nice little bubble around its subject in the first hour before settling down closer to the skin. It has the feel of a semi-casual late-fall/winter fragrance–something that can be worn for quiet, intimate evenings dining out, or relaxed moments at home alone or in company, not necessarily dressed up, but beyond your basic sweatpants and t-shirt for sure. As stated earlier, it is a unisex fragrance, and in my opinion might even work a little bit better on a man than a woman. This is undoubtedly a winner from Nishane, and gets a thumbs up with a solid 8 out of 10 rating. It is recommended for sampling.
Side note: Though I personally enjoy this one a lot, I always like to give fair warning to those who may not (after all, our tastes differ widely). You may not like this for a few reasons: 1) The projection is lacking. This is a reserved scent after the initial hour, projecting about six inches off the skin. If you’re looking for strong projection, look elsewhere. 2) There is a bit of a “candle shop” smell in Fan Your Flames–a general, spicy potpourri that reminds you of the Yankee Candle aisle during the holiday season. I don’t think this smell dominates, and within it I can pick up all the listed notes individually, but for those of you who can not tolerate even the slightest “candle shop” smell, you should definitely sample FYF before buying it. 3) If you’re looking for a pure gourmand, this is not it. Fan Your Flames features a strong woody component, as well as a dark spicy tobacco with dry earthy facets. The coconut, tonka, and rum serve as accents, never dominating or pushing this in complete gourmand territory.

This totally reminds me of an Amouage fragrance…Fate or Honour man i believe…I’ll have to do a side by side to be absolutely sure but i KNOW that ive smelled this before

at first I thought the Virginian Cedar was too prominent but after about an hour it mellowed out. I def smell the coconut and then the tobacco … it’s not heavy on my skin tho. It somewhat rests close to my skin but I do get wifs constantly throughout the day. I really really like this one but I won’t be purchasing a full bottle. Maison Martin Margiela’s Replica line carries one called Jazz Club which is very similar smelling to this but it actually pumps out and projects full body off my skin. Fan Your Flames just doesn’t perform like I need it to… sorry !

This perfume is also inspired by a quote of all times poet Rumi; “Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames”
May everything you accept in your life makes you getting closer to God…

I sprayed on the back of my hand. Projection in the first hour was good. Coconut is obvious rum as well but no tobacco whatsoever. Through the 2nd hour tonka starts to dominate all. Sweeter then I expect. At 3rd hour it becomes mainstream….Iso E?
    Pass for me.

Scent – coconut, tobacco, oak moss & tonka.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the colder months, during the night.
Projection – I did get noticed, it garners compliments.
    Longevity – I get 12hrs consistently.

Fan Your Flames is one of the newest-released, but my first very try, of the house of Nishane, based in Istanbul, and this one does not disappoint at all. Framed as a semi-gourmand consisting of a few sweet note and some tobacco and woods, I overwhelmingly get coconut both in the opening and dry down.
It’s framed as a warm weather sweetness when paired with rum, but the tonka brings it to something more year-round pleasant. the sweet notes stand out for me the most, but the tobacco and cedar are certainly present. The tobacco for me is more a fresh, light tobacco akin to what comprises much of the scent of Black Walnut by Banana Republic.
Performance is a little bit less on the projection side than I’d like, especially given the pricing ($195 for 50ml) and extrait concentration, though some maintain that higher oil concentration often translates to less projection, though I’ve not found this to be the case generally, nor do I want it to be.
Still, there’s a silver lining in that with less overwhelming projection, Fan Your Flames is a bit more modest. Longevity is fine, though, so it’s redeeming in that respect.
Overall, a lovely fragrance, and exemplary of great execution on a sweet and woody blend. Impressive, even if I want it to kick some more.

I got a decant of Fan Your Flames courtesy of a kind soul. Wow, this thing knocked my socks off…extremely woody, masculine with slightly smoky/boozy undertone. I get the coconut but it’s beautifully camouflaged and well infused with the rum . I also get tobacco and believe me or not it reminds me just a hint more of burned hashish or weeds in a good way than kind of dried/pipe tobacco. I also can picture an ancient church or temple halfway into drydown even though there is no connection between my perception and the notes here…what I mean is that there is no frankincense apparently.:)) Not sure about the complexity of it yet. I gotta give it a full wearing I believe. I’m enjoying what I’m smelling so far. It’s sexy and alluring with a great impact.

This smells like a funeral pyre in Indian tradition. the smell of burning wood, coconuts, with beetle leaves. without the rum. Not a scent you would really want to be associated with. Nishane incidentally was taken by the Muslim Conquerors as it meant in Hindi, Sanskrit the drawing of a sign. That you had been there. Your mark.

Dry, smoky opening. As it fills my nose, I feel like I’m standing by the smouldering remains of a fire. A sweet, creamy, slightly boozy coconut emerges to create the most fascinating contrast to the smoke that softens up, but never really leaves. Potent, intoxicating, masculine and feminine, masterfully blended, hauntingly beautiful.

The dry down on this is incredible. Smokey, light incense, warm tobacco, clean cedar (not too sharp). It really drys down with a great mixture of these notes. The beginning I picked up more coconut and that lasted a short while.
    Excellent longevity. Nicely done fragrance.

Now this is what I’m talking about! I was about to give up on this house as the other scents are way to out there and skanky or floral for me. This is exactly what it says it is , sweet, wood, boozy with some undertones of coconut and tobacco to give it a natural essence.
Just amazing quality and makes the skin shine with its extrait parfum quality!
9/10 right up my ally and I’m going for the full bottle now!

This is superbly alluring with its quality coconut BLAST all around with a boozy atmosphere to mild up the sweetness of the coconut with some vanilla and Tonka bean. It is quite captivating since the first day I sniffed it at esxence 2016 when Nishane sprayed it on my plotter.
Quite a hit in my opinion… maybe because I am a coconut note lover! But as well the quality is SUPERB.

A WAVE CRASHES OVER YOUR HEAD and salt water envelopes you. Emerging moments later, the warmth of the sun provides a dramatic counterpoint to the fizz of the bracing waters.
Fan Your Flames is a perfume which speaks of this moment. Coconut, tobacco, tonka and rum bring warmth and generous sweetness, while punchy notes of oakmoss and cedarwood provide a contrasting crash of brittle dryness.
The overall effect is like vanilla ice cream with salted juniper caramel. It is quite astonishing and unlike anything I have ever smelled before. Up close the scent is unusual, peppery and impressionistic, but as with an impressionist painting, as you move away from it, you begin to decipher the olfactory image and the subject comes into view.
Being an extrait de parfum, this is a powerful fragrance and one spray delivers a whole cloud of scent which has significant sillage.
If you like vanilla perfumes, you will love Fan Your Flames – but this is no cake-mix fragrance. Expect some drama with your story…

Fan Your Flames is more towards the masculine side with predominant slightly fruity tobacco leaves and moss notes. Although the Rum note is not pronounced and distinctive, it is there the whole time and blended seamlessly with the other notes. I could not detect any coconut at the opening although many said it was there. As the fragrance dried down, the Tonka note mellowed with the moss and Ceder to create a sweet, woody, mossy and aromatic base.
This fragrance is sort of thick leaving an oily film on the skin and it took a while to bloom. Because of this, I believe it would develop quite differently on different people. It is very well made with high quality ingredients and definitely worth trying. I’m very glad to have a full bottle of Fan Your Flames as it is quite different from most of the other fragrances in my collection.

I just got a sample of this…it is SO beautifully balanced.
I don’t get tropical–I get a first whoosh of sharp, incense-y from the oakmoss? like vetiver — it’s an elegant dryness; then a warm, sophisticated floral tobacco playing counterpoint underneath.
Haven’t gotten to drydown yet, but it’s gorgeous, and I don’t usually like warm orientals, but this one has gone to finishing school in Paris. Would absolutely get a bottle of this, should 200 dollars fall in my lap…

    This fragrance sounds magically sexy.
I love this house. They make very good perfumes wich are a perfect borderline between french and oriental tradition. But they still original even with classics esplorations. Very good materials. Every fragrance is so well settled. They were my favourite house in Pitti Fragranze 2015.
