Description

New York fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi launches Fabulous, his first fragrance, in fall 2012. The first fragrance of this designer, television personality and businessman celebrates his love of women and the inspiration that they provide him.

Fabulous is described as sensual and timeless fragrance that evokes the atmosphere of New York and the style of its women. The composition is floral – fruity and opens with intensive bergamot, mandarin and nectarine that awake the senses. Heart notes are feminine and sexy, including intoxicating tuberose, jasmine, freesia and peony. Earthy character is provided by the base of sandalwood, cedar and vanilla. Isaac created the in collaboration with The Cloudbreak Group and Firmenich.

The bottle design is inspired by vintage Hollywood perfume bottles with pump, while its girlish pink shades give charm and modernity.

I came by this scent in a small tester size that was re-gifted to me by a Best Friend. Her Mother gave her a bunch of mini perfumes for Christmas, and her poor Husband is the type to sneeze and have reaction to any and all perfume. I originally wore this in the winter, and I loved how it lingered on my wool scarf and the freshness it provided in the cold. Because of that experience it reminds me of winter, and not too far off from NY as I was living in Newport RI.
I came across the full size at TJ Maxx and purchased for a very inexpensive price, maybe like $12.99. I’m not a fan of the atomizing bottle even though it is pretty. The mandarin, nectarine, bergamot top is very uplifting and quickly dissipates into the heart, very white floral with a peony kick. That cedar really creeps in throughout, but in a fresh/rich way. I really love to wear this in cold temperature! I think the name suits it, its fabulous! I see fellow users have compared this to violet eyes, and its the rich smelling cedar that would provoke that scent memory. Its so inexpensive its worth a try ladies.

This is a very pretty floral. I enjoy wearing it. Jasmine, tuberose, freesia and a twist of citrus. Very uplifting scent. Longevtiy & sillage are moderate. Def at the low price worth a try as is Eau so Fabilous. Both are very nice perfumes.

Oh dear! I have to reduce my 5 stars to 4 for this awesome fragrance because for me it has very low longevity! The silage is good but longevity is very very disappointing. I still like be it though!

Well I tried the TJMaxx scent shopping trick and got lucky. Not much left, but I found 2 fragrances, Fabulous by Isaac Mizrahi is the one I’m test wearing tonight. I would have called it “mysterious.” It’s revealing itself on my skin and clothes in a lovely mesmerizing way. And I never heard of It before I saw it on the shelf for $9!!! Mizrahi is one of my fave designers. I was unaware he did fragrances. I’m delighted with it. On my skin chemistry, it’s pleasant from the first spritz all the way through drydown. I must study the notes to learn more about what it is in this highly underrated scent that’s working beautifully on me! I love it! It’s like finding a hidden treasure. Going to another TJMaxx to hunt for another bottle to have on hand. On my skin, it’s darned sexy and sweet simultaneously. Five stars for Fabulous!!

Vividly reminds me of Viva La Juicy & Light Blue. It’s clean, sweet & fresh but not overpowering at all. The bottle is very cute too.

I don’t have this perfume. Instead, I sampled this at Kohl’s and I have to say I’m not a fan. Although this has many fruity-floral notes, all I could smell was heavy woods. On me, this could almost have been unisex as the woods was so strong. Everyone’s body chemistry is different but I’d say this is NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY.
It’s quite similar to Calvin Klein’s Downtown. Downtown is more balanced and has less strong of a woodsy base. I definitely prefer Downtown as it lasts longer and smells nicer. It’s also very inexpensive online as it’s discontinued.

It’s too bad that FABULOUS doesn’t live up to its name, but it’s a pleasant enough EDT for summer. This is a casual fruity-floral that is very similar to a number of others of this type. The initial notes are sweet and I can smell the nectarine, but after dry-down, it becomes fresher and develops a bit more depth. I don’t notice the orange. After about 3 hours, I can pick up the woody notes and the fragrance becomes somewhat more interesting to me, but by 4 hours, it’s a skin-scent. I purchased it last summer for $8, so the short longevity doesn’t bother me. As it’s so similar to other fruity-florals, I wouldn’t rush out to buy it again, but I do wear it.
The bottles aren’t important to me, but if you’re blind-buying and are a collector: the one I bought has a standard spray mechanism and no atomizer pump. The polka dots are on the cap and not on the bottle. Otherwise, the appearance is as pictured.

This is a very pleasant citrus floral, Bergamot and Tuberose stand out. At first spray, I immediately was brought back to the 80’s white floral, Lily of Valley, and Jessica McClintock. A little reminiscent of Laura Ashley’s No. 1 the new reformulation version, too(never smelled the original formulation).
So, if you like Citrus Floral perfumes, you will love this. It’s light and airy, Spring in a bottle.

This was a blind buy from Amazon. For just over 6 dollars, I couldn’t pass it up. I have to say though that I’m so glad I got this. I smell tuberose, citrus and a touch of vanilla. I can also pick up just a touch of woods in there. It’s pretty simplistic to me, not much depth, but oh does it smell nice! It’s very uplifting and comforting at the same time. The silage is not super strong, but there is enough there to notice and fall in love with. The time it lasted was more than I expected. Usually for me, anything with citrus tends to wear away quickly. This actually lasted a good 5 hours before I noticed it had faded a bit.
Is it a hugely unique scent? No, but it is without a doubt an incredibly pleasant one that I think would be a safe bet for someone who doesn’t like huge florals or over-the-top notes.

Fabulous! An easy to love light floral. Cant say a negative word about it. Fun,sweet, happy and proudly sits amongst my others.

This is a very pleasant fruity floral. I was wary since tuberose usually doesn’t smell nice to me, but it works for me in this. I don’t find it particularly unique or memorable, and the scent is fairly weak, so I wouldn’t want to have it for myself. Maybe the weakness of the scent is why I’m ok with the tuberose here. It would be a safe gift for others, I believe. Sweet and inoffensive, I like it alright.

I will be selling one of these soon on eBay. I have become allergic to most synthetic perfumes and now I have to sell all of them:(

I got this perfume for Christmas last year, it is a classy scent.

  14. :

    3 out of 5

Boooooring! I hate to say it, but there’s nothing to distinguishs this perfume from a thousand others like it out there. It’s basically a bunch mediocre synthetic materials thrown together to satisfy some corporate marketing executive’s suggetion that there should be a perfume with Isaac Mizrahi’s name on it.

  15. :

    A pleasant “pink” perfume.
The bottle is pretty as others have said.
As nice as most of the layers of the perfume are-there is a musty hint somewhere in it that spoils it for me.
It would have been so lovely and fresh without whatever it is that contributes to this.
Unless you can get it cheap to try it I wouldn’t bother
    with this fragrance

This scent is androgynous to me. Matter fact I think it might smell better on a man because it would be more surprising. It puts me in the mind of a yuppy sitting on a freshly cut lawn drinking a glass of orange juice. Being a citrus lover I truly enjoy this fragrance. If you are like me and have a man who won’t stay out of your perfumes then please add this one to your stash. He will like it just as much as you do. I promise 🙂

Reminds me of DG light blue…nice summer/spring scent..

Being that I love my fizzy fragrances, I really love this one. The only problem is the spray device. I didn’t use it for awhile and it does not work as well. I had to take it apart to get to operate again. And, it seems as if some of it leaked out. It would be great if there was a tradition spray in addition to the atomizer in the box. At least there would be a choice. And for long term storage, the atomizer could be removed for save keeping.

I so wanted to love this…I love the soft, fruity/citrusy opening of this scent however when it settles on to my skin it just picks up the cedar/sandalwood making it way to strong for me. I ended up gifting this to my mother since she is more into the womanly heavy scents and I knew she would get great use of it. On the bright side, it was only $20 for a 3.4oz bottle so it was a win-win on my end.

I bought a 1.7 oz bottle from TJ Maxx for $12.99. I really like this scent. It’s fresh and feminine. It smells like roses and peaches.

People are way to mean to Issac Mizrahi and this fragrance. Take it for what it is. If you want some strong in your face smell, try something else.
For me, this is a light airy, fresh smelling fragrance! I like it for that! I like the citrus smell and I DO get the white florals in the background.
The bottle is STUNNINGLY cute. I bought it for the bottle with the atomizer and found that scent is nice too!
Fabulous is fabulous for being itself!
Stop hating and appreciate it for what it is, or just wear something else and move on!

Yes, apparently I enjoy the opportunity to write mean reviews. Thank you, Isaac Mizrahi. Why do I apply stuff that comes in the mail? This is the second most boring thing I have had the misfortune of touching to my skin. If you have to name a thing “Fabulous” there is a strong likelihood it isn’t. (The absolute most boring perfume I ever tried being named “Exceptional”).
The notes listed? Rot. What bergamot? What nectarine? What tuberose? What a joke. And putting on pink polka dots and tilting the diffuser cockeyed does not vintage art make.

  23. :

This is just another ok fruity floral scent out of a million, nothing special nothing new. It faded very fast over 2 hours then poof! It’s gone. More likely than not you already have a fragrance in your collection that’s overly similar to this. I mean it’s not bad, it is pleasant while it lasts. But there are much better fruity florals out there around the same price that last much longer. I will not be repurchasing.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

The name might sound “over the top” but anyone who is looking for a light, fruity, citrus-y scent for summer should at least give this one a try.
As for me, I am very pleased with this fragrance. This isn’t anything brand new or super special but it is a “fabulously” uplifting fragrance, somewhere in the category of some of the lighter scents from Lauren or even a hint of D&G Lt.Blue.
The catch for me came with the drydown, where the cedar solidifies the fragrance and gives it the longevity that the lighter notes can’t do…..
It’s one of those fragrances that when you smell it, gives you an uplifting burst and you can spritz throughout the day!

I kept walking by this fragrance in the store and finally sprayed it–I was so amazed. The fruit in the fragrance is wonderful. I love it.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

Definitely a sweet, peachy tuberose. I’m picking up a little bit of vanilla, but it’s that same fluffy, sweet vanilla that’s in D&G Pour Femme and Rose The One. It doesn’t have a lot of weight to it, but it reads like a slightly more floral Tresor In Love.

  27. :

So what’s in a name? Does “Fabulous” really mean fabulous? For some maybe, but this rendition of perfume by Isaac Mizrahi just isn’t so perfectly pleasing after all. Perhaps it’s a tad too fabulously peachy.
Fabulous is an awfully sweet peachy scent. I like smelling it but I could never own it nor could I ever wear it again after taking this one for a test drive around the block a few days. Each time I’ve worn it, its scent overwhelms me. It’s cloyingly sweet and it hugs me with an artificial sweetness that I don’t mind if I’m alone (for the test drive), but I seriously wondered if it would be annoying to others that would smell it on me.
It’s a perfume that smacks you in the face with its fruit pie overload. I feel as if I’m sitting in the pie tent at a summer church carnival, the temperatures have risen at mid-day to high humidity over 105 degrees, they’ve closed the flaps of the tents and the flies are buzzing. It’s sweltering and all I can smell are the hundreds of fresh-baked peach and assorted fruit pies around me. Which is ok, it’s a good smell, it’s just a sensory overload for more than an hour. and unfortunately, Fabulous last for six hours straight. My luck.
Adorable pink fluid, pink polka dots and pink atomizer set the tone for this overly delicious cutesy just fab concoction. Buttery popcorn does make an entrance and dance around mid-way but does not truly introduce itself as a finer tuberose. As a floral-fruity, I’d say without a doubt, you’re definitely in an orchard rather than at a flower show.
Best worn lightly and any time of the year you want to be a honey of a peach.

I was really excited to try this scent… But disappointed after I did. It is completely boring with little to no change from beginning to dry down. All I get out of this one is Gardenia… Period. It smells just like the 80’s perfume by Coty Sand & Sable to me. No depth, no complexity, no staying power. If I were to rename this perfume it would be called Safe & Unremarkable. On the plus side, this could be a good starter scent for a tween who doesn’t want to smell like fruit salad.

  29. :

I understand why this is so popular. It smells lovely, and happy, and energetic. On me, it’s nearly all floral…lots of freesia…but the drydown is heavy-duty cedar. Neither freesia nor cedar have ever liked me, and I don’t like them right back. Unfortunately this pretty, bright little pixie of a scent shrieks like a banshee on my skin. Induces eye-watering and scowling for hours and hours.

I ordered a few samples of this last year when it first came out. I took a few sniffs and brushed it off as just meh. Fast forward to last week when I was gathering a bunch of samples to sell I decided to try this again. This time it truly smelled fabulous! How could my nose change so much in one year? It smells like the much younger relative of Narciso Rodriguez For Her. I smell the nectarine and other citrus mixed with musk…but how can there be NO musk in this. Very clean, lightly sweet. Fresh, sophisticated, soothing. I have already ordered a roller ball of this.

Bad quality components in the bottle itself landing the perfume in a clearance store. I’m glad it did.
It is not a unique scent but it does have a certain style. Quality composition, floral, feminine, and tasteful. Good for those days that I can’t decide just how I feel.

Another amongst the fruity, fizzy, young Light Blue category.
There is also a creamy lemon note that reminds me of Tatoo.

It is another fruity, floral, but smells higher-end, not like a kid’s fragrance. Light, but definitely there. Not TOO sweet.

Really a lovely scent. I have smelled this somewhere before but not sure where! Anyhow it’s gentle and sexy at the same time. I guess I can say it smells fabulous. I have the smaller spray bottle and would not hesitate to purchase the larger size.

Young and fresh, this is a Pink Perfume in every way: girly, innocent, soft. The nectarine is quite sweet, sweeter than peach, but not a synthetic fruit, for which I give them kudos. This is not an artificial fruity air freshener or candle note, but instead a subtle and well constructed fruity accord, with the sweet nectarine balanced by a lemon-lime bergamot and a juicy mandarin orange.
I get more tuberose, jasmine, and freesia than I do peony in the floral heart. The white floral accord is not that potent, this is not a tuberose heavy fragrance. Instead, it is fairly light and works very well with the lingering mandarin orange and nectarine. At some point, the vanilla makes it’s presence known, giving some oomph to the vanilla nuance in the nectarine.
The cedar is quite prominent on me, and may be off putting to the cedar averse. I really like the drydown, which is woody, sweet and resinous from the cedar.
A very pretty, sweet, fruity floral, great in summer heat and humidity. Silage moderate, longevity 4-6 hours even on clothes. I have the gel and the lotion, and they definitely extend the fragrance.
About the bottle: So far, I really like this atomizer bottle, much more functional then the Prada amber bottles with the atomizer. My shut off mechanism actually works, so the juice doesn’t evaporate. I am very careful with it, but so far it has functioned perfectly, plus it is cute!

Very pretty fruity floral, easy to wear, nicely constructed, I like it, I have a 10 ml, but I do not think I would buy the full bottle..as there are lots of similar scents out there. And I already own Lanvin Marry Me Love Edition, which is very similar!! I think Isaac Mizrahi went the safe road with a nice fruity/floral, nothing extremely outstanding…
You wouldn’t go wrong owning it, it is sparkly fresh, feminine, lovely….

  39. :

    4 out of 5

I knew I had to own this as soon as I smelled it. Sweet and fruity it makes me feel truly fabulous just wearing it!! Was surprised to see that no one remarked that it reminds them of Marry Me by Lanvin. Both have that heady, sweet smell that make them must-haves for me!! This is my first perfume by Isaac Mizrahi and I adore it!

The Sprayer on this Perfume Leaks Constantly if left on the On Position . And my Bottle Never Stopped leaking – So i lost over 60% of my perfume – as it sat on my dresser,Making a mess. I hope someone reads this and tells Isaac the designer of this perfume – the Sprayer is defective on most all the bottles. I went in Dillard’s – and one of their Testers of it, would not Spray no matter what position it was on. This is very disappointing for the Price i paid for it $65.00 at Dillard’s. I do not recommend this Fabulous to anyone due to the Sprayer leaking non stop – on the bottle.

To me this smells exactly like orange sherbert ice cream. Fruity, creamy, sweet and a little tangy. I just love it! Lasting power is average and sillage is good. This is very nice for spring.

  42. :

Well I like it. I think it’s adorable. It’s fun. It’s similiar to other fragrances and yet there is something about it that is different all the same. This is something I think I will put on during the summer and I’ll save it for those days when I’m running around the city with my friends being fabulous.
this scent is nice and light. Would pair well for those hot days when you just wanna throw on jeans, a t-shirt, and throw that hair up….and yet you still feel like a million bucks. This is a pick me up
The bergamot does lead the way for a second and then it blends into this really nice fresh yet juicy scent. Not necessarily something I’d say I LOVE but I do like it.

Mizrahi is a huge name and a trusted designer so I was super excited to snag this one.
Then the bottle wouldn’t work. I even watched the youtube video on how to use it (you know… incase I could possibly not figure out what “on” and “off” meant!) I went and read some reviews online and tried everything… even spinning the whole top off to remove it and trying to fix it with some pliers.
Eventually I turned it over and started shaking it and then it would spray upside down (seriously).
That was yesterday. Today I have a migraine because I turned it over and shook it and it leaked out all over me.
Thanks super famous designer for your crappy but pretty bottle design because now I have to walk around reeking like a citronella candle.
Thank goodness the longevity on this perfume isn’t that great (well, that’s the first time I ever said that!)

VERY underrated fragrance in my opinion. This has beend done before, but this particular composition is so rejuvenating!
-fresh, zesty and JUICY citrus top notes
-jasmine, gardenia, and delicate peony notes create a lush floral body
-cedar, vanilla and sandalwood give the fragrance depth and longevity
This fragrance is a breath of fresh air for my busy mornings. It is fun and flirtatious but is also elegant! The cedar-fruit combination somewhat reminds me of Nina Ricci’s Nina. If you have Nina you’ll know what I mean. It creates a soft musk on the skin a few hours after application, and ends up smelling clean and cottony. This is a very well-structured fragrance with decent longevity and projection.

hmmmm smell’s like a few other’s BUT I like this one more than all those that i can think of that it is similar to SO . . . . . thats saying something it has the chanel chance tender feeling to it & all the flanker’s of that one & also reminds me of LIVE the newer Oscar delarenta . . . . Im on the fence with this one because the more i smell it . . the more i like it 🙂 like someone else said above me^ 🙂 i wish it just had something more complex or mysterious or unusual or just something that set’s it apart from the other’s it also reminds me somehow of sarah jessica parkers Lovely” & I thought that one was Nice . . . .also marc jacob’s daisy & daisy fraise & ALL it’s flanker’s . . . . .

Tuberose and gardenia opens for this light perfume. On me, almost exclusively bright white floral. Not my favorite. I like something with more mystery and depth. Seems like tons of makers are going this sweety-sweet route. Maybe to appeal to the throngs of younger ladies that are new to fragrancing. Would someone please throw us slightly older girls some spice?

  47. :

What it lacks in sophistication, it makes up in
    youthful exuberance!It`s a soft fruity-floral very
girly and up-beat. The nectarine and mandarin
lend a burst of sweet freshness ,while tuberose
and peony keep the mix classic.Vanilla and sandalwood
round out the base, which gives this a smooth creamyness.
A close to the skin scent, lasting power, one to two hours,
you can`t have everything cherie 🙂

  48. :

Cute bottle, but, meh. It’s pleasant, peony, white floralish, with some gardenia I thought, but smells like a zillion other things out there. Nothing to really distinguish it. More for a 20 something woman I think. I’ll pass on this one.

  49. :

It’s not bad, although it’s not strikingly unique, the fragrance is appealing and familiar. It puts me in the mind of one of Carolina Herrera but not as heady… softer, a little more powdery. Don’t know if I would buy it, but if someone bought it for me, I’m sure I’d wear it.
