Exotic by Boadicea the Victorious is an exotic fragrance for sure, but not in the usual sense of the word. It’s one of those that you have to truly experience to know just how unique and lovely it is, with its fruity spiciness brought on by bergamot and ginger with mesmerizing warm smokiness that the incense and ambergris brings all the while rose and lily weave their floral magic to have you fascinated by the well refined and exquisite aroma that Exotic has in pure abundance.
Longevity is 6-8 hours which is enough for me to appreciate the balsamic, fruity, spicy, smokiness and lastly with floral nuances. Exotic takes me on a journey to the orient and back, the only way I can describe is that I’m Aladdin on his magic carpet flying through the most beautiful gardens of the orient joyously appreciating the different aromas (as I pick out flowers for my one and only Jasmine) that this far off land has to offer. The projection is moderate lasting 4-5 hours with others having to be in close proximity of me to detect it as the aroma lingers close to the skin after a while.
Overall, Boadicea’s Exotic has got so much elegance and in its own distinctive right is a classic oriental fragrance that no one should be without it in their collection.

I agree with the review that states this smells like coconuts. I guess it’s the lily? I am a guy and I don’t see this being unisex. As mentioned it’s high quality and not really a playful type of scent. With that being said it has no kick, no punch. Just a subtle nice smelling coconut scent with mild smokiness. Would be great for women during the warmer weather but not my cup of tea at all.

Very interesting interpretation of the word ‘Exotic’. It’s very tropical but yet classy and elegant. Whenever i hear the word tropic in a perfume relation, i imagine a cheap kinda celebrity scent so i really wasn’t sure about this one.. and because it was a blind purchase. But as we all know, Boadicea the Victorious just can’t get it wrong. They did it again!! and i just loveee this fragrance. If i have to describe what i scent i would say this frag’ is balsamic but in a fruity kind of way. It will be suitable for any age and any occation, starting from office wear and going all the way to a romantic date. Very musky and lasts on me forever. I smell ginger, insence and fruits ( though i don’t find ant fruit notes ) very interesting and i would say lovable combination.

Musty, medicinal, sharp for the first 10 minutes…
Something about this scent reminds me of Mercurochrome, lol, so I guess I am dating myself.. Then smoothing out into a gingery, balsamic, smoky skin scent….
I wish this had a bit more sweetness or sillage to kind of cloud the senses in the air…
Still one of the better scents, so far, that I’ve tested from BtV…. Verdict still out…

Good start with acids citrus notes. It turns off after an hour and remains a trail of ambergris just quite common. Not among the best of Boadicea.

Longevity – 8/10

This started out promising, but then it broke my heart by smelling like coconuts rubbed against a sweaty, incensey foot.
It was the lily. Lily always smells like feet on me.
Note to self: Avoid all scents with lily.

It smells of a dusty vanilla scented candle that has ben snuffed out with a bit of zingy ginger and a splash of lavender and i can very discreetly detect lily
emits a soft warmth
and to me, yes, a little church-y. nice.
Alexwein – :
Wonderful scent. Incensey enough without being too churchy and, to my pleasure, I can’t really detect the rose notes.
i love how crisp and commanding attention the opening is and how nicely the fragrance settles into a warm finish.

Boadicea the Victorious Exotic opens with a blast of sweet fruity bergamot and tropical fruits in the opening(yes,I do smell tropical fruits while they don’t exist)Quickly it settles down to a balmy, warm and kind of ”dusty” amber which immediately reminded me of Histoire de Parfums Ambre 114 and L’Artisan Parfumeur Ambre ,which I have to say I am not a fan.I can’t smell any flowers,it is very well blended, very good quality.Overall,it’s dusty amber with a hint of sweet insence(I said ”a hint”,you won’t smell like the inside of a church wearing this,Mysterious, yes, slightly sweet, yes, unique, well I am not sure about that..Lasting power is medium.

(This review is for Eau de Perfume)
EXOTIC is a delicious oriental delight. It is fragrant, sweet, slightly spicy and delightfully seductive.
There is something gourmand and sweet in the top notes of Exotic. It smells to me like an oriental dessert along the lines of Turkish delight with vanilla and dusty dry sweet fruits contrasted by very aromatic bergamot and lavender. This contrast of dusty sweet and strong aromatic is quite striking and beautiful. The heart notes are interesting mix of lavender, incense, vanilla and sweet notes. I do not get strong floral notes in the heart, perhaps a bit of a sweet rose. Vanilla, sandalwood, vetiver and musk mingle together in the rich, sweet and oriental base.
EXOTIC definitely qualifies as a unique and attention worthy scent. I love oriental and gourmand scents. This one is not sugar vanilla one but more of an aromatic, sweet oriental. It smells quite lovely on my skin and has a nice comforting gourmand quality.

Here is another Boadicea’s tested at Caleri’s shop in Genoa!
Of the bunch I tried this is the one I like less only for personal reasons because the lily is predominant and it gives me the funeral effect or reminds me of Anais Anais I don’t like.
It must be something in memories that trigger this feeling.
Otherwise Exotic is a very well made fragrance, I would say very feminine and not so unisex. Lily and incense are the notes that really show up in the composition. On my skin it becomes an overpowering incensed white lily that I don’t like on myself for the said reasons. It is longlasting and really works with your chemistry. Quality is superior. I’m sure it may appeal to a young lady with a tendence to soft mysticism. More mystical and emotional than Exotic.

For my nose Exotic smells like a dusty citrus candy lying in the wooden box. Interesting warm fragrance, the staying power is medium on my skin.
