This is a truly beautiful perfume. It is dense, and has all the mystery of an arabian harem. I was in Saks Fifth Avenue here in NYC and while looking/smelling the other fragrances I saw the Kilian counter. I had just heard of “Oud” based perfumes and wanted to try one. First I tried Oud Palao by Dyptique. It was also beautiful. Then I tried Kilian’s Oud Musk. Also very nice. Then the salesperson suggested Oud Eternal saying that if you like oud, this one has the highest concentration of oud in it. He was right. It was amazing, dark, musty, dirty and roses. It made me think of rose colored silks, leather, smoke. It made me think of Camels in the desert, and sweaty men on horses. I had to have it. So I said okay, I’ll take it. He told me the price. I almost dropped dead. Close to four hundred bucks and then some with the special packaging. Then he told me I could get a refill bottle. So I bought that. I ended up spending about $300.00 for a 1.7 oz. refill bottle. I decanted this small amount of perfume into a beautiful square vanity bottle with a brass cap. I use it only every now and then. Ah Kilian you make a great product which is insanely overpriced. Since this purchase I have found at least four other oud based perfumes which are equal or better than Kilian’s Oud Eternal. Shop around and don’t get upsold by slick sales people.

“ETERNAL OUD is a very intense interpretation of MUSK OUD, with an overdose of natural essential oil of Oud from India and a more floral and spicy inflection with Rose absolute and Saffron notes.”
With a hint of animalic musk, the rose is light and compliments perfectly, not in-your-face like Rose Oud. Drastic improvements over the soft & timid (and too fresh for my taste) Musk Oud! Definitely the one to buy if I’m gonna slam that kind of money xD
Eternal > Gold > Rose > Musk

If you are a hardcore fan of By Kilian Musk Oud (like I am) and you own a bottle in full presentation, then list it for sale and sell it for as much as you can. Then, buy Eternal Oud. This is Musk Oud “Extreme.” The notes are amplified and this fragrance is much more refined than Musk Oud if you can imagine that. Incredibly opulent and very intense…a little goes a long way. Performance is impressive! Highly recommended.

Okay, I am going to start by pretending I do not know how much this costs. The scent itself is fantastic. It does smell very similar to Musk Oud but has a smoother, silkier feeling and more rose and also leather. This is more like a night time or special occasion version of Musk Oud. The far dry down is more floral than Musk Oud as well. It smells very elegant and like someone dripping in money. Which you would have to be to purchase it. This was created for the Middle East and apparently for folks who live in castles and stuff based on the price. Yes, the price is annoying but there are people who can afford it and if you are in that crowd and like rose, oud and leather scents this is pretty much a royal party.
If I were dripping in oil money I would have a big ol’ bottle of Eternal Oud in every room of my palace. But for now I will settle for my semi-palace priced bottles of Musk Oud and Rose Oud (even half price on EBay). I get basically the same feel without holding up a convenience store.

spectacular, but very similar to oud rose. same sorta notes and ‘feel’…

Because the Arabian Nights line wasn’t expensive enough.
