An old fashioned eau de cologne + sulfurous depilation cream note + Nivea cream + linden blossom (a little). It is quite similar to “VV” by Roberto Verino, but VV is more wearable in my opinion. Not my fav. Too strong, too fresh, a bit masculine, acid, offensive.

    The 100 Days Challenge – Day 26:
Magical essence. My mom wore this during my childhood. She bought herself another bottle and really loves it. It start icy and sharp and then evolves into floral, sweet coziness. Long life to the creature living in this plastic wilderness. Great quality for the price. 24k longevity.
    Today’s word: Manifest.

My mother bought me a gift set of this that included 2 bottles of the perfume (50 ml and 5 ml)and body lotion. This used to smell good on me…a fresh, “citrusy” clean smell. But now, it has such an acidic, sour smell on me. It is used as an air freshener in the bath room. What a waste!

Received this today. Green…floral-ish….then an aquatic drydown. Pleasant fragrance, clean, fresh.
To my nose, does not smell like IR Manifesto, but in the same category, yes. I also find it more appealing than Bvlgari Crytalline. It has average longevity too, I was expecting less. Overall, a decent fresh/clean scent…but not remarkable .

I bought a 100 ml bottle back in the day when I was in college – it was good value for the size of the bottle and I was using it for a whole summer..Then I moved abroad and as they discontinued it back home, and never sold it in my new home, I simply forgot about it for a few years and bought perfumes in Boots or Superdrug.
And one day when I started off buying perfumes online, it sprung back into my mind. And I ordered the same big bottle – a friend almost immediately wanted it off me, as of `love at first sniff`..:-D
So last year when coming back from Barcelona I looked it up at the airport and purchased yet again another huge bottle..
It`s fresh, smells almost as a unisex perfume on me, yet with a subtle feminine touch to it. I could make out most of the middle notes and the citrusy top notes, but barely any of the base notes. All in all it`s a great refreshing everyday summer fragrance, especially for hot countries. To my sadness it`s simply not quite strong enough, I had to give it a good few spritzes to make it noticable on me, and spray it another couple of times during the day. But all in all it`s lovely, floaty, fresh, but not too citrusy – makes me feel elegant, but not `too much in the face`..

My mother´s all-time favourite perfume! I like it but, as it´s her and not MY fav, so… I just leave it to her. As someone said, it would be good for a Duende Elixir to exist! lol

This one is a very fine, fresh, crisp and non-sweet smell. I was comparing and mixing it today with Isabella Rosselni’s Manifesto, EL Pleasures and Bvlgari Omnia when I decided to check and found out that those were all Alberto Morilla’s creations. Fantastic. Love them as well as many others also in my collection. Respect!

To me it is definitely an aquatic scent. It’s like crisp clear refreshing water. I wore it in both cold and warm weather and works fine in both. I also find similarities to Omnia fragrances (Amethyst and Crystalline) but sometimes I “lose” the Omnia scent, I’m not able to smell it after a short while although it’s there. Well, this doesn’t happen with Esencia de Duende, it remains clear and defined throughout its journey. I like it very much.

I have already written a review on Esencia de Duende, since it is my all time favourite, my signature scent, I love this perfume more than any other.
Recently I have not seen it online, on the Del Pozo site, etc.
Anyone has any info if it is still being produced, or if not anymore? Private messages are very welcome on this topic!!!

I wish I could wear this fragrance, but everytime I test it on my skin it smells like bathroom cleaner. I envy those of you can wear this beautiful light green scent lol.

I loved it from the moment I tried it on! Another winner from Jesus Del Pozo and Alberto Morillas. It’s a light, fresh floral that makes you feel beautiful.

It’s very citrusy and woody on me, I can’t smell flowers at all. Good fragrance for hot summer, when you don’t want to overwhelm yourself and people around you with something sweet and sticky. I like to layer it with something musky.

I got it as a gift from my brother last summer and this is my staple on days I have meetings or want to feel extra casual. Many consider it my signatute smell since I use it so much actually. This fragrance is so delicate and beautiful smelling; It’s not a citrus type of smell though, once you have it on for a couple of minutes this will certainly smell like a humid forest, without it being a floral or musky smell. It’s just the perfect balance and combination of notes, in my opinion. I started wearing it regularly on autumn although I can picture it being perfect for any season of the year. Perfect for day or night also. I just adore it. Refined, classy, womanly, forest smell!!! Lasting power is kind of a downside. It’s not as strong as I would want it to be although this can last true to it’s smell for several hours.

Fresh, clean, sparkling, slightly sweet hyacinth. Citrus that is fresh but not sharp or bitter. Lovely for spring or summer. Yum! Lasts a long time, a nice citrus floral. Really well balanced.

This is a beautiful, optimistic and sweet scent. It seems to sink into the skin and lasts (on me) for hours. It appears sweet, fresh, translucent and juicily green although there is not much progression. Despite this simplicity, Esencia is a green/citrussy gem and is perfect for wearing when you are a guest at a weddng or on a warm balmy day.

My number one perfume since 1996! Deliciously fresh and still complex scent, goes well with hot weather and also with colder seasons… love it.
Not a simple citrus or similar, it is a bright, still spicy composition, different on every skin – for this scent, it is crucial that you try it on your skin, not on paper.
Long lasting, great sillage, I am often getting compliments when I wear it. I have the impression it is a mysterious scent, hard to recognize – or perhaps it is because it is not one of the scents everyone wears or knows.

vanilla1975 it does! I was wearing OC this morning back in my hometown and it suddelny it reminded me my summer days as a student, when I used to wear EDD almost daily. Actually I just ran here to check if anybody else had noticed the same.
However, I would say EDD has a more bittery-masculine drydown, it gets thicker and woodier, more complex than OC. The only thing I dislike is the initial blast, I just get pure alcohol for nearly half an hour. It makes EDD smell unfairly cheap. It is affordable, but not cheap to me.

I can’t quite remember exactly how this smells but I do remember that it was quite fresh and a bit floral but not too sweet, and that I liked it a lot (had two bottles of it about 13 years ago. I’ll definitely try this again and share my experience here.

It is fresh and light, lasted about 5-6 hours on me with limited sillage. It is a good office scent when you just want to smell nice without being offensive. However I find this to be a rather generic “clean” fragrance that is nice but not memorable. Not for someone who wants to make a statement but could be a good substitute for other more expensive “clean” fragrances.

it’s really nice, though i can sense a strange drydown.
After it loses its freshness and sparkling, it gets a bit strange ultimately.

This is citrusy, clean and fresh. I can smell the bergamot and the mandarin in the opening, soon it follows by smooth sandalwood base. Very nice summerscent. Suitable for officewear, but can be used on romantic summerdate too.I really like it a lot.

This strikes me as a very grown up sensual scent, best worn for romance. It is a strong woody (cedar), mildly citrus (grapefruit) blend that lingers close to the skin. I wish that it came in EDP as well as EDT. Anyway, it manages to smell divinely sensual without overpowering those close to you. It seems that the men in my life really appreciate it as well.

This is one of the few fragrances that my DH has actually commented on, positively! On my skin it has surprisingly good lasting power (dry skin type). It’s not something I reach for everyday, but will certainly be using it more. I find the bottle unusual and not very practical, nice if you keep your perfumes on a dresser, but I keep mine in their boxes in a cupboard! I think this is more popular in Europe (Spain) and is definitely fresh and not overpowering.
I put this in error under Duende – but it is the Esencia version I have.
Update Jan 2014- I’ve been using this up recently as a work/everday scent and really like it. The lasts more than 10 mins, doesn’t give me a headache or effect my sinuses first thing in the morning. I would consider buying another bottle, but at the moment I’m reducing my collection down and have others that I need to finish first.

The perfect green fragance, fresh and relaxing, everyday fragance and lovely.
Si te gustan los perfumes frescos pero sin ser demasiado florales este es una buena opción para probar, a buen precio ademas.

A lovely scent, but its lasting power is very disappointing. And unfortunately I think there is no Esencia de Duende edp…
As some of you have pointed out “duende” does mean “elf” in Spanish, and smelling grassy as it does it could seem coherent to associate Esencia de Duende to creatures of the forest, but “duende”, especially in its Andalusian sense (Alberto Morillas is from Seville, by the way), also means “magic”, or “charm”, or even “mojo” and “magic spell”. “Magical aura” is the term used in the description of the fragrance available on the EdP site, and this can be connected to its slogan, “El hechizo de una mujer”, that is, “the charm cast by a woman”, or, more ambiguously, “a woman’s charm”.
Browsing the site, I saw that by “magical aura” Del Pozo also refers to women’s natural elegance, which he tries to enhance with his minimalist fashion designs. He claims that all women are elegant “in essence”, elegance being a natural “state of the soul” linked to their spiritual beauty. As he explained at the scent’s launch in 1996: “I don’t disguise or “adorn” women! I simply dress them in the elegance of their attitude”. So this perfume is not about the magic of elves, but the magic of natural simplicity.
For me EdD is an inoffensive fresh green floral, not as elflike and exotic as one might think from the beginning. It’s enticingly crisp and naturally classy, perfect for office wear as most green scents are, but we shouldn’t underestimate its rich mossy sensuality.

Has something in this scent that makes me fell so good and relaxed. I fell envolved…
    Love love love!!!

Duende(original and this one) to me is androginous, and the more it sits on my wrist, the more it reminds me of some male sports cologne. And that’s what stops me from wearing it. That said, it doesn’t mean that its unplesant. Its soapy, metallic, citrucy and fresh, but alas unmemorable.
On the bright side the staying power is very good.

I got a set with mini bottles of several Jesus Del Pozo fragrances. So far, this one has the weakest lasting power of all. Yes, its a light scent but common! I don’t even get 30 min out of this and I literally drenched myself in it.
Essencia is pretty much the same as original Duende. Light crisp watery floral, same category as Cool Water but a bit more feminine. I don’t get coriander in this at all-its all about light watery florals. I really like it but as I mentioned, lasting power is the worst I’ve seen in any fragrance so far, worse than body sprays. I think for people who don’t like perfume or like very light fragrances, this would be a good choice. Glad that I had a chance to try it but won’t buy a full bottle of this

My boyfriend gave me this perfume for Christmas, I was really waiting to see how it would be in my skin … This perfume doen´t last long on me, just a few hours.
notes are totally green, smell some jasmine in the background, but very watery … I do not dislike but I would like to be more floral with more lilies ..and more durable.

Jesus del Pozo ESENCIA DE DUENDE falls into a category of fragrances which I always feel that I should like, but I never really do. They remind me invariably of the Calvin Klein asexual, super-modern jug perfumes that came out a while back, and which I never took to. The closest comparison in my own collection is probably Salvatore Ferragamo, which I basically never use. I took it out to make a side-by-side comparison, and I realized that, yes, they are olfactory neighbors.
Why do I not like these kinds of perfumes? They seem sort of fresh and clear, and not too flowery and not at all sweet, but also not too sharp, and they are not sour either. In the end, I think that it’s a metro-metal edge which puts me off. They smell synthetic but not in a gross chemical soup way. They just don’t smell like anything in reality to me. I have never sniffed TOMMY GIRL, but from what I’ve read, I’ll have the same reaction to that one as well. On verra…

I gave this one to my mom years ago and is still full on the bathroom shelf, really green but I dont see it as a fresh fragreance, on me its really dry but in a plastic weird way. I thought it will suit my mom but she doesnt like it also. To earthy. The name its perfect, a duende probably would smell like this, earth, flowers, woods…
I guess I prefer to smell like a faery
    🙂

Yum, very nice fragrance! But as said before, unfortunately it does not last long at all. What a shame for such a nice “elflike” EDT. Hope there’s also an EDP.

I definitely agree with Moszatka; Esencia de Duende is aquatic…It starts out with a beautiful green floral bouquet, and continues on to an aquatic wave…On me, it doesn’t last. I have to keep reapplying. I do love the fragrance, I just wish it would stay on!

This is a fantastic perfume too! I used to dream about this perfume bottle ( actually the regular Duende). The bottle always stayed in my mind, just like Parfum de Peau and Diva, on my list of: When I am older, I will want them all!!
THANKGOD, thanks to internet all those are available now for a good price!!

very green and fresh, it can be suitable for summer… this one smells rather nice indeed!
Very bright and light but then… puff! It’s gonne… very poor lasting power, wich is very annoying! It’s one of the few fragrances that doesn’t hold in my skin.
I love J.del Pozo fragrance, and this is so nice but the lasting power and even the sillage are inexistent.=(

I adore this perfume! I got Esencia De Duende at a great discount online without ever having sniffed it before. I am Impressed! It smells very crisp & green, almost leafy…..maybe it’s the coriander or the lotus? Not sure. Even though I wouldn’t classify this as woody, I can definately detect the cedar in it. I have to add that the bottle is so gorgeous and over-the-top…..you can tell that there was alot of thought that went into this perfume, even the packaging is abstract & beautiful right down to the box it comes in. This would be perfect for anyone of any age to wear. I can’t picture anyone hating this fragrance. It’s lovely.

I love it on me. Such a fresh, yet soft and warm fragrance. Would agree with the other reviewer that it’s aquatic.
I could walk with the bottle in my hand all day long and spray it every 5 minutes…the problem is, it seems like I would have to. Maybe it’s normal, but I cannot, as much as I want to, smell it on me, after two or three hours following application. I tried layering and it helps a bit. Also, I do not notice much of a change during the dry down. It seems like it stays the same lovely self for a brief time until it disappears ;-( Looking for EDP…

The coriander is not pronounced, it becomes light and flirty when combined with the mandarin, grapefruit and bergamot. Nothing sour about the bergomot and coriander in the same place at the same time because there is touch of sugar added to the grapefruit wich combines all the top notes well. The middle notes are lovely, but, not really noteworthy! The base is nice, the cedar and mohogany are not heavy and the sandalwood becomes a touch powdery; and with the cedar and there is a sensation of insense in the drydown. I think the perfume is bright, lightly fruity, with the slight impression of acquatic notes, also very light citrus notes; Floral Green is a good category for Essencia da Duende. I do enjoy the perfume- but I find it to be a weak strength perfume and somewhat lacking in prescence. Also, the fixation is very weak. The top notes last only 1 minute, the middle notes maybe 30 minutes, and then the dry down faintly remains for an hour or two.

I love it, it’s a clear, delicious and fruity fragrance. I think it’s aquatic.
