Description

The seventh fragrance of the first collection could only be dedicated to Leonardo
da Vinci, “A man without letters” as he himself put it, and yet someone who was
to become one of the great geniuses of humanity.
If Leonardo was a unparalleled genius, it was due, in part, to his careful observation
of nature, which was the master of his childhood. Stretching out on lawns studying
the flight of birds, the shape of a leaf and its veins, the spreading of circles in
water by throwing a small stone, he was unstoppable in his thirst for knowledge,
and irresistible in his ability to discover the dynamics of reality.

Inspired by the desire to celebrate this mysterious yet reserved character, who
possessed a generous and passionate heart, Enygma was born, an misterious
fragrance, exciting, unusual and unconventional. The pyramid of fragrance here
is deliberately described from the bottom to then climb upwards, opening up
the view of the mind and allowing it to interpret the secret codes, bewitched and
enchanted by the magical feelings which are aroused.

The woody notes reproduce the hazy depths of the Mona Lisa, a work of philosophy
as much as it is a wonderful painting: here, between a splendid vetiver,
whose thin tangled roots become strong as steel, (hence why it is known as an
engineer plant,) and the guaiac wood (the plant of life and universal panacea)
the Amber comes to life, with a breath of Sandalwood, sweeping away for a
moment the sense of unease that accompanied Leonardo throughout his life.
Here a bright Gardenia comes to life in the heart, cloaked in ermine in the lap
of Leonardo’s lady, bringing balance, in a passionate red damask rose. These
robes, by contrast lit up by a smoky touch of Tobacco, take on the largo until
reaching the musical score, that we can see on the humble table of the Last
Supper. Brushing the Divine Head, from here rise the golden notes of Saffron
and Nutmeg, trembling with love towards the infinite horizon, illuminated by
a cool and seductive Bergamot Enygma was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Luca Maffei.
