This is slightly stronger than Calvin Klein Encounter but still is a low-moderate scent with about 3-3,5 hours of longevity. The smell is pleasant, very common and safe. It’s all about mild mojito/rum, faint cardamom and citruses (bergamot).

I got this perfume as a christmas gift when i was 12 years old as my first fragrance ever. Planning on getting a new bottle soon just because all of the memories.
I can still remember the fresh fruity smell it had. That’s sadly all i remember, i will update when i get a new bottle.

Nice for a causal Friday at the office. Cheap to grab it for $15.00 at Marshall’s on clearance rack.

Subtract the booze from the original Encounter, and replace it with citrus and a bit of pepper. Voila. Encounter Fresh.
I like EF. It could actually be a flanker of Aramis New West. If that sounds appealing to you this is worth a try. I think EF may be discontinued but it’s not super hard to find.
Note: longevity in the batch I have from 2013 is more like an EDC than EDT. I get a couple hours from it, tops.
I think EF and its older sibling are both criminally underrated. They’re not “masterpieces” but if I were a gambling man: I’d wager that people will consider both of these juices to be gems in the not too distant future. The market just wasn’t ready for something like this … especially from the oft-maligned CK house.

    Pros:
-Light scent, great for an office environment
-Very fresh and works great during the hot summer months
-Scent is very close to a Mojito and rum
-Relatively inexpensive when you can find it on sale
    -Perfect all day wear
    -Nearly impossible to over-apply
    -Younger-mature cologne
    Cons:
-Never lasts all day, maybe 3 hours at best
    -Sillage is very poor
-Due to poor longevity, re-application will be frequent
-Scent isn’t very bold and won’t stand out next to other stronger colognes
-Limited to daytime and warm weather
I like this cologne but its downfall is that you would have to keep carrying it around all day and reapplying it to keep it alive. The longevity dies almost instantly and the sillage isn’t very good. Most CK colognes suffer from this exact issue so it wasn’t all that surprising that it wouldn’t stand the test of time.
However this is a decent cologne for what you pay for on sale. It does smell good and is quite reminiscent of a rum mojito. I won’t be buying this again though only because of the issues I have already pointed out. If it was stronger and had better sillage I would get it again but until then, it won’t be something terribly missed from my collection.

I find this to be a much heavier scent than the notes would suggest. On my skin it shows minimal citrus or mojito/light rum (is nothing like Guerlain Homme or any of its flankers), and leans far more towards the other notes. Yes, it is boozy, but in a deep rich way with smooth woody notes. Think CK One Shock, but not as sweet. Or Varvatos Vintage, just not as spicey. The dry down heads towards an old school aromatic, but stays tamed enough to be contemporary. All in all, it’s not a bad scent, however, try it before committing to it as you might find it wildly different to what you were expecting.

Very bright and uplifting. it’s almost day and night comparing to the original Encounter. Still, it is a nicely fresh and distinctive (rather mature) scent, but it may be hard to compete among many “fresh” offering scents from CK

Actually……. It’s okay…not stunning…. not a powerhouse, but it is okay and pleasant enough.
I have better, but I have a lot worse and for the princely sum of £14.99 for 100ml currently from ‘Home Bargains’ here in the U.K you really could do worse cost wise for a pleasant additional scent to take a punt on.
How about I paint a picture like some do 🙂
He got out of the swimming pool like an older male version of Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress) in Dr.No (James Bond film) minus the beach, bikini and obvious female attributes….. he nipped down to the previously mentioned retailer having already dried off /got dressed… bought 100ml of CK Encounter Fresh….. he was shaken but not stired……. he didn’t get the mojito background…. he already has Guerlain Homme Intense & the standard Guerlain Homme but who cares he’s licensed to wear something of less cost and does not bother with general opinion while respecting other’s orifractory ideology of what makes a good or bad scent.

I like it, just a safe non-offensive fresh type scent.
One of the ladies in my office loves when I wear this. on my skin it dies down pretty quick.
I’d recommend putting one spray on your shirt or on undershirt if applicable.

I received this on for my birthday. I got a 1oz bottle for $9.98 at Burlington Coat Factory. I was very impressed with this one. At first spray I get a sour citrus which I like very much. It doesn’t last long on my skin, maybe 3 hours tops, but if I spray it on my shirt then this scent will last all day. I think I will pick up another bottle of this when this run is used up.

this is a nice woody aromatic EDT from CK. it´s not the ultimate fragrance in the world, but it’s a crowd pleaser. perfect for office or daytime use, or even a date. what i love about this one is the aromatic side, that really works with my body chemistry. longevity around 5-6hrs, price cheap.

They nailed “interesting daytime” at a mass market price point right. Billowy citrus (à la Dior Homme Sport) that dries down to oud. Not a thick or deep fragrance, but a find for those who want to stand apart but meet all types throughout the day.

I agree with Antonpan all the way here. Its like Guerlain Homme but done on a lower budget, and ironically, the longevity and projection are much better than the latter. You will notice that the fragrance is synthetic, but its not unpleasant – just not very natural. However, I do enjoy the moderate sillage and persistence of this casual, warm-weather, masculine fragrance by CK. I would recommend this over the original Encounter as its performance is superior. They both have their place if you acutally enjoy their aroma (which I do but don’t love). In a nut shell, this is a citrus fragrance with a mojito/sweet mint accord followed by lots of generic woodsy notes. The mint and wood persist for 6-8hr.

I have to say that I was completely jazzed when I heard this was going to be released, especially given the fact that I’m a fan of the original, minus it’s lack of longevity.. This was supposed to have been released in June of 2013, but didn’t start appearing until September on eBay at a substantial discount ( I got my 3.4oz bottle brand new boxed for $38).
I’m quite fond of the bright citrus top notes because the fact of the matter is that you cannot go wrong with bergamot. After it starts to dry down, you will start to smell the similarities it has with the original Encounter, minus the oud notes obviously. Not 100% clear on how others can’t smell the similarities.
I haven’t had this long enough to comment on longevity, but if you’ve been in the game for any time at all, you know that summer citrus based scents don’t last at all, so brace yourself for that very real possibility.

This one got nothing similar to the original Encounter. This smell much “fresher” with the dash of lime citrus at the beginning and the rest is very weak notes of floral with some mild wood based. Longevity is very weak, 2 hours max and it only give you dash of “freshness”, Projection is nothing but stay closed to your skin.
CK should stop doing all the “weak” or “summer” flanker and come out with something more classic like the CK Truth. Sorry guys, this is totally one of the worst flanker CK has for years, 2/10 from me. Anyone agree with me?

I am not impressed with the Encounter line, its just too weak, too boring.

Encounter Fresh is a well-made adition to a rather underrated Encounter range. I like the Fresh version, it brings something contemporary to the enldess theme of modern aquatics. The mood of Encounter Fresh is close to the mood of Dior Homme Sport 2008: a lot of acid & bitter citruses with something distinctive inside. Furthermore, Encounter Fresh is the smell of lemon peels with a mojito background. The sillage is great, the longevity is average.
By the way, I haven’t noticed a connection between this one and the regular Encounter.
    8/10

I thought the original was ok, but this one is just plain boring. A little DNA from the original in the base, but with a bland synthetic “fresh” opening. There’s a candy-like sweetness to it as well, perhaps the Mojito accord, (even though it doesn’t smell like a Mojito at all). A big thumbs down from me.

looks nicer and sexier than the original one! nice CK!
