Description
Chopard launches its new fragrance Enchanted, available on the market from summer 2012. The fragrance is presented as mischievous, playful, velvety and mysterious. The inspirations behind it are expensive diamonds that shimmer in the night and all the magic of imagination.
The composition is fruity – floral – oriental. It is developed by perfumers Jean-Christophe Herault and Dominique Ropion. It opens with intense, sweet and liqueur-like note of plum, which leads to the heart of elegant and delicate Sambac jasmine. This flower is also known as Arabian jasmine and its scent is powdery with fruity and animalistic nuances. The base is sensual and intense with dominant note of patchouli, together with cashmere, aromatic herbaceous – spicy tones and musk.
The fragrance is available as a 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

This was a leather-herbal fragrance for me. I had a carded sample gifted to me and based on the notes and reviews, expected a fruit-chouli or very plummy scent. I don’t see leather listed so the musk and cashmere must have given me that; this was dryer than many cashmere musks, more brisk and almost chypre. It did sweeten as it dried but to a rather nondescript light sweetness. Not anything terribly special but also not really like anything else I’ve smelled. It was fine for work. Longevity ~5 hours.

For me this is definitely not a warm spicy scent
I can only smell three things here
Plum ! Patchouli ! and Sweetness !
very sweet from the beginning to the end
but with the plum and patchouli there
it’s just ok
it’s quite surprise that a perfume has so many strong notes could perform in a quite tender way
in all , i like it
but not a love

I read the reviews before blind buying this and just can’t love it as much as others do.
There is something in it that spoils it for me, particularly when first sprayed. Maybe its a mix of the very strong plum with one of the other components.
The dry down is much better but seems to take a while.
Its definitely worth a try if you like a bold fruity perfume.

This is an Oriental with a spicy sexiness. I read the reviews and saw the ad and thought it would be more of a romantic evening perfume. It’s not. It’s pure seduction and not too far away from the same spirit of Midnight Poison by Dior. This is a patchouli based perfume but it has notes that keep it on the mature womanly or even unisex side: spices, musk, woods, and a dark jasmine similar to the jasmine in Thierry Mugler’s Alien. The plum note at the top doesn’t last but a minute on me before it turns into a jasmine followed by patchouli and musk. It’s got an Arabic Oriental nature and it has a seriousness to it. It smells like you can only wear it to a very important event, a dinner date, a wedding, that sort of thing. It isn’t for everyone and normally I don’t care for this type of perfume but I am getting into Orientals and this was my 1st.

This one is my special occasion one. From the bottle to scent it is really like something from a fairy tale. It has character but also is very inoffensive, warm, feminine. At the time I am very into feminine-warm scents and this fills my needs just perfectly. Definitely more for a winter time or evenings.

Magic. Love. A rendezvous. Somewhere, at midnight, a woman appears. The moment she enters, a mysterious new world of grace and delight is staged. Her delicate fingers hold a secret elixir. A few of its drops escape and immediately fill the air with mesmerizing flavors. Suddenly, a man is in love and falls under her spell. But soon she vanishes into the dark night and nothing but her scent remains. One thing is certain gentlemen, thanks to ‘Enchanted’, the pursuit of love may now begin…
This is a strong romantic perfume for a woman who is really trying to get noticed. Wear it with your most expensive, beautiful evening clothes, a dress, an evening gown. It wants you to wear your hair up, or styled very beautifully like you’re going to the Senior Prom. In fact this would be one hell of a Prom Night perfume. This wears like an adult Cinderella fragrance but this Cinderella is not coy, shy or pretending to be a princess. She is a woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. She’s there to claim her prince! The patchouli is the strongest note in this fragrance and it’s right smack in the heart. It’s Oriental, smoky and wears like incense. It’s the touch of midnight magic and mystery. If you like Dior’s Midnight Poison, you’ll love Enchanted. They don’t smell exactly the same but they’re in the same fragrance family of slightly Oriental “midnight” romantic and mysterious perfumes. The only floral scent is the jasmine and if you like jasmine perfumes this is a gorgeous jasmine. The plum is sweet but not too fruity or cloying. Cashmere is soft and the spices further add some potency to the patchouli. The whole thing dries down to musk. I love it. Perfect for New Years Eve, romantic dinner dates, cruises, black tie formal parties, galas, but not weddings. Nothing about this reminds me of a blushing bride. This is the most in charge Cinderella ever. It could even be a perfume she borrowed from her stepmother LOL

ENCHANTED EVENING
Enchanted by Chopard. I love this fragrance but I must warn you girls who are looking at Fragrantica and see the plum-jasmine accord plus the photo of that Cinderella type of model in the ad. The name is misleading. This isn’t anything like a Disney Princess fragrance for adult women. This is more along the lines of Jessica Simpson’s Fancy Nights. However because of the intense plum and the cashmere it has a softer and more feminine feel whereas Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights can turn masculine. This one stays feminine. The patchouli is huge and it has a dark midnight fragrance of the night type of vibe. It’s romantic, dark, mysterious and strong. Don’t spray too much. This is one of those one two spritz you’re done type of perfumes. It’s beautiful but it doesn’t work for everyone. If you’re not able to wear patchouli, this isn’t for you. I love patchouli and the patchouli here is very fragrant and not Oriental, nor masculine. It’s the cashmere wood that I find is keeping this thing together. The plum is ripe and sweet, the jasmine is a night blooming jasmine which provides a sexiness to this scent. I don’t wear this fragrance too much anymore because it was becoming my signature scent around 2012 and 2013 and I had to quit. I have one bottle that is half full and will wear it for dates and formal evening affairs once in a while. The dry down is musky and not woodsy so I would say that this has some sort of animalic note. It does feel mature and very sophisticated despite the simple arrangement of notes. I would recommend this for women in their 20’s and 30’s. It’s romantic, alluring and elegant. Please give this one a try but remember this is very strong and it’s a patchouli perfume. Good thing that jasmine plum and cashmere keeps it girly enough for me.

I recently saw this for a very good price and was glad that there was a tester so that I could finally try it. The notes, so I thought, are right up my alley. Unfortunately they didn’t mix well with my body chemistry. Here’s my experience: First spray – quite masculine and reminiscent of shaving cream (yes, really). But that didn’t put me off. What follows is a mish mash of scents with a boozy and sweet plum as their leader so you see where this is heading. It’s not really bad and way better than a lot of perfumes on the market right now but it wasn’t the enchanted scent I’d hoped it to be. So till now Wish still is my favorite from Chopard!

This perfume is awesome it’s not soft and not enormous it’s moderate and that’s how i like it and it is long lasting. I think there is a jasmine flower scent , musk , and some fruity scent there. I like to wear it at night and day in fall and spring. The bottle is extremly beautifull, it is my favorite perfume.
P.S:- i think you should try jasmin noir perfume

I don’t like a single thing about this scent. On me it’s like a vintage oriental gone bad.
Somebody elsewhere described this is a typically sweet “fruitchouli” scent.
Not on me! (Right now I’d be grateful for that!)
As for the plum/prune liqueur, all I can say is “what plum/prune liqueur?”, and the spices? What spices? Maybe there is a tiny touch of spice here, but I’m too troubled by the rest of the composition to notice.
If there is plum, then it’s dirty, rotten plum that’s been in the back of a damp cupboard (or a bathroom bin) for ten years.
Admittedly, somehow, around three hours in some of the sour, fermented bitterness departs and a soft, sweet effervescence comes through. The jasmine?
Behind the wood, patchouli and sour fruit, it’s barely there. So, this might be good if that’s all there was to it. But I can’t wear a scent just for one “good bit” that’s overshadowed by a million bad bits for three hours.
Overall, I just get far too much patchouli with only a hint of that sweet jasmine. Also – the jasmine is not the kind of jasmine I’ve found in any other scent, and I think there’s also a big dose of amber here.
When I first applied it, it genuinely smelled of alcohol with nondescript, rotten, screeching fruits with a hefty heap of mold.
There’s something of a damp, dirty hotel room here.
Mold, damp. The remnants of random cooked meats and stale tobacco hanging in the air and clinging to every fiber.
Fans of “Let it Rock” by Vivienne Westwood might like this. It’s one of those dirty patchouli smells that I, personally, can’t stomach.
Something of this could be “sexy” and dirty in the “right way” on the right person, but certainly not on me. Something here has gone very wrong on me and it’s extremely sickly. I’m almost entirely certain that my chemistry must be buggering this up, or else I just can’t imagine anybody wearing it.
Hence the fans of Let it Rock might be better suited to this, whereas this kind of scent is just a big no-go on my skin. This is like a fruity version of Let it Rock with a touch of spicy jasmine.

The Name Enchanted is misleading. It implies a soft fairy tale effect. If this is a fairy tale, then it was written by the Brothers Grimm.
To me, it is dry, spicy, fruity. The plum liqueur note stays right to the end. Not a very long lasting fragrance, and sillage is moderate.
However, having said that, I like it a lot. I do get the Dahlia Noir effect in the drydown (I don’t like Dahlia Noir at all), but on me, Enchanted is tempered by the strong plum note. No florals to speak of.
A formal, possibly winter, evening kind of fragrance.
Bottle is beautiful.

Well this is a new review, as it grew on me, and I can say definitely this is nice, in its own vibe, feminine, rich. A bit dry yes, a bit cold. But at least a nice scent that isn’t a gourmand!! The plum gives it a certain edge, a rich edge, the scent is definitely mature, and like most Chopard perfumes, distant , and stylish..I dont get too much spiciness, or patchouli. Mostly an undertone of soft woods
So if you are looking for a stylish and different scent, a tad oriental with some freshness, this would work..give it time, it will grow on you, like it did on me..
I agree I don’t quite get the Enchanted name, although it talks of cold snowy lands.. Intriguing, , worth trying.. Ropion always creates interesting fragrances..
Update: just not enjoying wearing it, too dry, too cold..not for me

I had a funny experience today. I’ve seen this lovely new bottle in the shop, as I looked at it I’ve expected an airy light spring scent. And the name “enchanted” called my imagination in to the forest to watch dancing fairy’s. Then a rather heavy perfume made me awake. It’s a robust spicy smell at first, not unpleasant at all, a very nice surprise. Dry down is exactly as Dahlia Noir Givenchy.

It might be a great, luxurious copycat of New Venezia by Laura Biagiotti, for the fraction of Venezia price tag, I hope 🙂
Sounds like the most prominent note is the liquor-alike plum accord which I truly adore!
I am looking forward to try it and would appreciate any input from those lucky ones who have an opportunity to test it in the pre-sale…
I have high hopes on this one, I love Chopard creations and own most of their fragrances which are feminine and long lasting. Each Chopard fragrance has its own identity suitable for different occasions. Playful Happy Spirit, classy Wish, mesmerizing Cascade or breathtaking rosey Madness…
I hope Enchanting to be truly enchanting!
