EMIR opens with tangy notes of pomelo and orange, supported by geranium, spiced up with pepper. Then, the fragrance begins to reveal its potency, rich in patchouli, cedar and musk, its background is expressed above all in the opulent scent of aoud. This fragrance radiates masculinity and it is part of the Exclusive collection, whose bottles are hand-decorated with Swarovski crystals. To me, this masterpiece is like a beautiful blending of two of my favorite fragrances which are Royal Oud by Creed and Terre d’Hermes by Hermes. Thumbs up!

Emir has an oriental vibe but overall is safe and quite westernized. A fresh oud scent for warm weather, just beautiful!
The oud is completely safe and feels woody. The combination of westernized woody oud & geranium creates a cooling and refreshing effect same as in Meydan by The Spirit of Dubai house. Very smart. The white pepper adds a beautiful aroma. The blend feels mild spicy, it’s very friendly to the nose. Oud, geranium and white pepper are the dominant notes. There’s also faint grapefruit, mild cedar and well ballanced earthy patchouli. As time passes comes to the surface an orange which has only aroma. Zero sourness, zero sweetness.
This is not a complex scent but simple, fresh-woody, versatile, manly scent with an oriental touch.
Performance is above the average but it’s not a strong oriental scent. Projection could be much better. Overall it’s a decent scent.
It reminds me Al-Rehab Sultan Shaik Chic Shaik No 70 which have much better projection.
    EDIT
I bought it today. If you like Le Seducteur by G. Nejman which I looove, you’ll probably like Emir. Or if you miss the Emir by G.Nejman, this is almost identical. It feels like a summery edition of Le Seducteur -which is very heavy scent- with the addition of citrusy notes. It carries about 40% the DNA of Le Seducteur. Think about BdC edp and edc versions. It feels the same between Le Seducteur by G. Nejman and Emir by Micallef.

This reeks. If I had a top 5 for most awful smelling fragrances this would be pushing for top spot. Gag inducing and that’s some mean feat considering it almost smells like feet. Like a sweaty foot dipped in pepper and lay to rest on a piece of oud wood. I’m not even joking!

Slightly sweet and very citrusy with the initial spray. Definitely get the grapefruit and the orange with a lot of patchouli and pepper as well. As is wears for a few moments, the geranium starts to come into play and really blends nicely with the smooth, slightly medicinal quality of the oud. The cedar isn’t really prominent in the least and I really don’t get any sage, but the geranium is very persistent. As it dries down the musk begins to show up, but in the end of the life of this very short-lived scent, you are sadly left with a slightly floral musk that doesn’t leave a lasting impression on me. It is a strong fragrance for the first hour or so, but it was surprising how quickly it became a skin scent and then disappeared into almost nothing.

The characteristic that separates Emir from other Oudy fragrances is not its Oud but the orange/grapefruit combo that evokes a sweet marmalade jam-like opening. The oud quickly follows giving off a runny sweet syrupy oud quality.
The patchouli and the rest of the notes gently counteract the sweetness and make the fragrance more rounded by giving it a body and more texture. I wish that tobacco could’ve been added though. The performance is moderate-to-heavy.
Overall, a very pleasurable experience in its uniqueness.
    8.5/10, Highly recommended

A gorgeous spicy Oud combination that evokes the flavors of the Middle East this stunner from Micallef is a beautiful masculine fragrance with very strong sillage and projection. Only for those who can tolerate very strong perfume.

Strong, complex, spicy, classy oud – but this is a DEFINITE ‘try before you buy’ as skin chemistry reactions can be disastrous! On paper this is everything I love (I’m an adventurous female ‘fumehead with a taste for the exotic, woody, slightly butch end of niche) but on my skin it *radiated* – and that’s the right word – a really strong, unmistakable, ruinously persistent cats’ pee note, which not even the heaping helpings of delicious spice and aromatics in the mix could disguise. I would have happily forked out for an FB of this (at some discount) if it weren’t for that particular note – it would just be too much. But give it a try, and if you’re after something dark and opulent and you don’t get the ruinous note, it may well be for you.

I thought this one was going to be an extraordinary experience but was a disappointment in a fancy bottle, that does not look as nice as in the website. Maybe I was expecting too much from it, based on some of the reviews, here and in the sale points, but it just not delivers something special from such price and being a niche cologne. Maybe I need to try it more times, but it was not love at first sniff.

Ok let me start of by saying this is currently my favorite fragrance. When I wear this I cannot stop sniffing my arms and wrists, it is a hypnotic scent that takes me to an exotic place at my desk in NYC. That being said I actually HATED this frag on its initial spray.
I sprayed it once and it smelled like a rose garden that was fertilized by formaldehyde was set on fire by arrows laced with chimney residue. yeah I know not exactly the type of thing you want to wear, so I disregarded the sample I had and put it back in a dark corner until I felt adventurous one day and sifted thru all my samples for another sniff. Well I applied Emir to my wrist once more and again I got the very strong opening which turned me off but the difference this time is that I didnt wash it off and I let the magic happen and Ill tell you that within 10 minutes my face was glued to my wrist.
Like an addict I was sniffing my wrists until no pore was unturned. This was such an amazing discovery and I kicked myself for not allowing this amazing juice the opportunity to transform into the most gorgeous smokey incense I have ever laid my nose on. Its mysterious, its dark, its war, its love, its just fantastic. I have been wearing it so much that I came to appreciate and love the opening blast. This gets 10/10 stars.

This is not andante Sospiro , andante is just 100% terre d’hemrmes and has no oud at all
Emir is one of the best oud perfume I have encountered though it’s not offensive , and you will get the best of it after one hour …
    Enjoy …
I have a dream about this perfume , if one day Xerjoff make Similar scent but use their ( Xerjoff ) citrus , and keep the same oud note and sure the fragrance will be more refined as we used to see with all high quality Xerjoff .

Intoxicating, heady, regal, fit for an Arab Prince! This is one of the nicest Oud I have ever tried.
It opens with gorgeous oud and a soft blend of citruses-grapefruit and orange. After a time on my skin, oud builds up, there is geranium and a little pepper.
Oud on my skin is amazing with cedar wood and patchouli lingering in the background. Oud is very rich, dark and sensual. The combination of notes creates a sort of tobacco-like note on my skin, I detect faint sage.
I enjoyed testing Emir, it is beautiful, powerful, deep and a nicely executed fragrance.
I am a woman, I don’t care about the gender marketing concerning perfumes, I and anyone can wear this and smell so sensual.
Longevity (7hours) and Sillage are both great!

  12. :

Starts off with a very heavy, dark oud – not overwhelming however. After an hour or so it gets softer, but still massive oud to me.
As others have stated, it’s definitely masculine, but can still be worn by a woman.
Personally I never got a flowery drydown, but I layered it with some spicy vanilla and got a very edible dark vanilla oud. Evening/night for a woman, daytime for a man I think.
Quite pleasing, and will not give this one to the husband, even though I won’t be able to wear it often.

Just got this as a blind buy. Disappointed with the opening. I love the sweet oud running throughout the who time you wear it. Don’t like that for the first half hour or so the scent is a throwback to 80’s type frags, kinda like Ted Lapidus would make.
Oh but after that half hour or so when it evolves past the tart geranium, wow! Utter bliss!
Get past the old guy smell in the beginning and then it’s 10 out of 10!
And so long lasting! 12 hours and counting. Sillage drops after the 8 hour mark but not flat. It cruises down softly on a bell curve.
Amazing frag, recommend to all lovers of sexy, seductive scents!

This is a potent EDP. Too strong for me, but probably explains why it is called “Emir”. It is quite overpowering even with a single spritz and for the first few hours I am looking for the exit. The dry down is very good however, but it’s an effort to get there. Not really sure I would wear this often. Best owned I think as a small sample bottle for very occasional use.

Generally impressive, Micallef as a house have been on my radar for sometime now and I managed to get my hands on a comprehensive set of samples.
This one had been recommended by a fellow fragrantican who afterwards proceeded to send me, foul and abusive messages direct to my email when I didn’t respond quickly enough for his liking. This psycho behavior aside and although perhaps slightly tainting the scent before I’d even tried it. Thankfully, Emir’s reputation proceeded it and I was actually really looking forward to trying it.
This is a fairly dark, herbal, oud scent but I just wasn’t inspired by the composition. The opening is a peppery orange, which retreats into a woody, dirt of patch and woods. It’s not bad, not bad at all and certainly quality juice but left me very nonplussed.
My reaction was muted when I was expecting to be blown away. Maybe I’m not getting it? but I desperately want to geranium, oud, pepper and patchouli sounds great but didn’t translate for me on first inspection.
Longevity was excellent and the more it dried down the better it got…one to revisit in a few months I think?

Powerful and persuasive, this masculine fragrance is seemingly imbued with the essence of oud framed by well-managed peppers. Incredibly likeable the structure of citrus, aromatics and spices are (dare I say) majestic. Broader and suppler than most fragrances in its category, Emir is armed with rich texture and a long finish. As masculine as it may appear, I can definitely see a woman pulling this off. Oddly, this reminds me of Enchanted Forest without the black current note. I totally didn’t expect to add this to my want list.

Opens immediately with oud notes and sharp spices, with a hint of citrus. Then soft, sweeter floral notes appear. The oud is soft and gorgeous, blending nicely with the oakmoss creating a soft, mushy base for the sharper smoky notes. The drydown is a base of oakmoss and cedar. The oud notes continue to change, sometimes soft and sometimes sharp. Musk comes in last–very subtly and a bit masculine.
    Sillage is moderate, longevity moderate.
What a gorgeous oud! Usually oud scents are too sharp or metallic smelling for me, but this oud is great. It lasts long, too. It is a dark scent, very bold and a bit masculine– can definitely be worn by women though.

Sorry folks, wrong scent. I was trying to rate the fragrance from Micallef called Style.

Wonderful fragrance, my new favorite from Micallef.
In the same trend of smooth and very likeable unisex western ouds, from Royal Oud (Creed), AdP Colonia Oud and MFK Oud.
On paper it reminded me of a juicy spicy, like Spicy for Him. On skin however, the fresh parts (citrus) and spices are gentled by the oud and flowers and the rich patchouli. Everything blends into a beautiful aroma and drydown.
    Strong and longlasting.
    Gorgeous bottle also!

Got a sample from luckyscent. Tried it before heading to the downtown today. It was a bit cold and I took a bus. My first reaction when I sniffed this scent, unique, dark bold, upscale and masculine. It`s woody, smokey with a hint of leather touch to it which makes the whole composition so alluring. A bit linear for my liking but still gorgeous and head turner. Definitely works well in fall/winter. Longevity 8+ sillage huge

Emir certainly is a manly scent but not uninteresting for a daring lady.
The beginning full of grapefruity crispness, the oud stepping in and taking over. Lots of mature smoke caressing the composition.
This very strong and dominating scent must be applied with a very light hand but will reward you with an olfactory aura that you will barely find on somebody else.
    Nice scent !

Thank you MM for the lovely samples.
So far, Emir is my favorite offering from the MM Exclusif collection. Though it is unquestionably a dark earthy and sensual fragrance, it reminds me of a cleaner, lighter, and more accessible relative of Puredistance M, by Puredistance.
Puredistance M has longevity that is beyond comprehension, whereas Emir lasts as long as you would want to smell from it (which for me is all day and into the night, instead of several days). The sillage is good and a little goes a long way, especially in warmer or humid climates.
Emir opens with peppery geranium and leather. Soon after, the patchouli and citrus appear, with cedar following close behind.
As the fragrance continues to open up, the cedar becomes quite prominent. The ceder/patchouli/oud combination smells pungent, rich, and quite earthy. There is something mysterious and also visceral about Emir.
It has an animalic, spicy, smokiness to it. It is complex and seductive like a firm masculine embrace. Though it is very masculine in nature, I have no reservations about wearing it myself, since I wear whatever I enjoy, regardless of its masculine/feminine leanings.
Emir is at once alluring and affirming. It’s like walking confidently into complete darkness without a flashlight or the slightest trace of fear.
It’s intertwining yourself with another person as you share heat in the dead of Winter, under a thick heavy blanket. Your breathing synchronizes in the darkness as sleep moves in and takes both of you in silence.

This one was added here already but under G Nejman Micallef duh!
I think it is very unusual and mysterious.
Cant really smell oud in there more of pepper and orange.

A tart peppery floral, a strange mix, actually. I’ve never come across something like this before. It has a bit of mystery and darkness. Certainly try a sample if you can find it.
I got mixed reactions at work; some said that it was a bit feminine while others thought it was totally masculine.

Thanks for the samples fron ©Element show, loved Emir a lot, heavier woody type, but can be used as unisex one. I also liked Style a lot very unisex as well. Mon is a great women smell, now I have a long wishlist from MM.
