Description

In autumn 2012 House of Sillage presents limited editions Emerald Reign, limited edition Nouez Moi, limited edition Holiday by House of Sillage and the Signature Collection which also includes Cherry Garden, Love is in the Air and Benevolence.

All fragrances are made by acclaimed noses from France, and they are all different—gourmand, fresh, floral—and all very wearable. The number of bottles for each of the six fragrances is very limited, but they will always be available in refill bottles, which are less expensive and still very attractive.

“The royal white tiger is rare, untamed; with emerald eyes, confidence reigns. Fiercely independent, inner strength precending, do not stare into the eye of the tiger. Brazen Indonesian nutmeg and spicy Indian cardamom oil convey courage unprecedented. The fragrance of empowerment.” The fragrance is sweet, oriental, fruity and woody. It contains notes of cardamom, coriander, nutmeg, sandalwood and benzoin. The nose behind this fragrance is Mark Buxton.

I’m testing this from an official sample.
This is an absolutely beautiful, well-blended perfume – but it reminds me of something; sadly it’s not unique, or even original. Others have commented on its similarity to Ambre Sultan – and they’re right.
But it’s more similar (in my opinion) to something else.
I have Ambre Sultan sprayed on my wrist, Emerald Reign on the back of the left and the SOMETHING ELSE on the back of my right.
Great news for lovers of the much-loved, discontinued L de Lolita Lempicka – Emerald Reign is a very similar, if slightly less sweet, replacement for you.
The bad news is you may have to sell a kidney to buy a bottle of Emerald Reign. And I’m not sure it’s worth the expense.

I wasn’t expecting to fall for any these overpriced, albeit seductive, studded muffins…so imagine my surprise when I realized how bewitched I was by Emerald Reign. Groundbreaking? No. Gorgeous? Absolutely.
I can understand Ambre Sultan comparisons, minus the pungent oregano and other herbal aromatics. Emerald Reign is less complex – heavier on the creamy benzoin / vanillin, and spicy nutmeg and cardamom – but these are some quality oils. Being an extrait, it also lasts longer. It all melts into my skin and settles into the most gorgeous warm Mysore sandalwood base.
Both fragrances are elegant and sensual, but where Ambre Sultan is more demanding, angular and daring, Emerald Reign is quietly confident, smooth and utterly beguiling. I find it easier to wear and love it just a little bit more.

I’m not picking up any fruits … just the Benzoin and the coriander. It does smell very high quality but it also smells very light … I’ll try this fragrance again at a later date. Right now, I’m simply not moved by it.
EDITED 08/03/18 – It’s not LIGHT at all. It’s actually a subtle scent but heavy for sure… It has a cocoa butter or she’s butter scent texture on my skin. I’m digging this a lil more than I was in my first impression.

I LOVE this fragrance on me even though I’m a dude. This gets quite the attention from the ladies who seem to enjoy smelling it on me as much as I do. Must sample!

Now we are making a statement with Emerald Reign. My goodness, after an hour this scent is still going strong Brazen Indonesian spices and oils. This scent can stand up with the best.I will have to add this scent to my niche collection.

I just purchased this and couldn’t be happier – blind buy, and spot on. The bottle is beautiful, but the scent, even better. Fruits and spices are present (but well balanced, i.e., not overly spicy), and a nice sandalwood as the base. I just love it. Smells exotic, but not extreme in any way. Very elegant, and long-lasting.

When I was in Seattle for my birthday two years ago, I stopped in at Parfumerie Nazreen which carries this line. They are so beautiful, the jeweled cupcakes, but to be honest, such things don’t impress me much and I paid them little heed, figuring they’d be priced inappropriately for cuteness sake. It turns out I was correct. But, the owner there felt inclined to gift me since it was my birthday and so I came home with a full, boxed sample set gratis. Kudos to Nazreen for her gracious gift-giving heart!
I’m wearing this fragrance today and I admit it is lovely, but it is a lovely COPY. The opening is Serge Luten’s Ambre Sultan with the dry-down being MPEG Ambre Precieux. Is that good? Why yes, it is, but it’s not original and it’s not worth the asking price.
As to performance, it’s relatively brief in the phases listed above, only about 30 minutes for the first and the rest is the second so far, and losing steam every second. I’d also say that it’s sillage is rather light. It’s been an hour and a half. It is enchanting to look at but I’m less enchanted with it’s performance and lack of originality, not to mention the additional negative of being ostentatious as to price and presentation.

Oh my gosh this is lovely! When I got out of the shower and sprayed this on to test it, it was love at first sniff! I’ve tried from the same house Benevolence and Cherry Garden, but I didn’t have the same reaction to it as this one!
The bottle is absolutely fascinating, and the spices, combined with a warm ambergrisse (not listed but I get it as a top note). This really reminds me of the vintage Cartiers, and Ambre Nue from Atelier Cologne but with more of a ‘WOW’ effect. It’s slightly sweet, but in no way synthetic. I’d say it’s probably the same elegant, but sensual (almost sexual) vibe as Shalimar has. The sillage is really good, I can get it easily out of armlength and still noticable after 5 hours.
The only downsize it that it is so expensive, but I will get a full bottle of this juice someday!

had samples of all the perfumes from this house. The bottles are stunning and beautiful quality. this one was interesting. initial spice blast that made me think of Christmas, then settles to soft creamy spice after 2 hours. it is a truly unisex fragrance spicing reminded me of an androgynous coco chanel. one of those perfumes you keep wanting to go back to; however the price tag is off putting.

it is fairly nice, as for this perfume they have increased it’s concentration to be the only perfume from their collection to be used for men (according to the seller’s notification)!
honestly i see it quite ok, but too overpriced… you can find a similar perfume with quarter the price of this one. 400$+ is too much.
Edit (10th Sept 2017) so this is sold out now! and i just realized that the owner is a billionaire woman who has the biggest yacht in Cannes, which means she did this for looks and not for creativity, which brings up the subject that the ones who buys this are buying it cause they have more money AND they know nothing about fragrances! the updated price1500$

I received some samples of House of Sillage from Parfumerie Nasreen in Seattle. Decided to try this on first as my Dearest Husband said all my perfumes smell like soap.
This perfume is stretching my little world. Work it to work…not a good idea. Glad I just sprayed a bit on.Better for evening, IMHO.
I like the smell and drydown. Haven’t worn orientals for years. DH has always said he didn’t like perfume. We met in the smelly 70’s where perfumes were pretty potent! So stayed with BBW. Now I want to have some nice perfumes.
Definately keeping this one in mind for an evening out. Brings to mind an elegant dinner/dancing with long diamond earrings.
    Thanks again, Naseen of parfumerienasreen.com

Cartier style bottle with a cat on top, beautiful piece, perfume is more unisex, heavy with resin and spice. Longevity is great, even after the swimming pool perfume is still detectable.

I love the bottle, You can get it by emailing them on there site.
I will say this one is very fruity spicy and warm and deffinatly a winter time scent.
It is more of a nighttime scent but can pass as a day time. Love love love. The bottles even better in person.
It also ocassionally pops up on ebay surprisingly cheaper. and I’ve seen it once on amazon.

Overpriced and TACKY – the whole “House of Sillage” name is ridiculous too.
