On the official site:
Indonesian patchouli leaves, incense and driftwood.
No vanilla or amber listed.
What harmony of notes! Delicious, wisely balanced, soft and delicate scent with tender salt and velvety citrusy notes in the opening.
All seasons and unisex scent. Piece of art.

From Keiko Mecheri’s own website: “A masculine composition inspired by Keiko Mecheri’s passion for her native Japan…..fresh citrus notes into a bouquet of toasted spices and marine notes, before drying down to Indonesian patchouli leaves, incense and driftwood.”
Whether it’s masculine or feminine I absolutely love it. This is one of my most favourite recent discoveries (along with at least a few others from Keiko Mecheri – Mullholland & Loukhoum!). It’s a warm, earthy, woody and slightly sweet leather/oriental.
On my masculine skin, the yuzu quickly departs within mere minutes and the main top notes I detect are the pepper and spices. I can’t detect any real ‘marine’ notes in the mid stages and once the spices subside, the beautiful patchouli and incense and vanilla kick in. At this stage, I am reminded (somewhat) of both Bvlgari Black and Van Cleef and Arpels Midnight in Paris. It’s only a vague reminder, but there’s no denying a strong and sweet vanilla and leather accord at the drydown stages.
As the sweetness mellows out, I’m left with a gentle and comforting incense. I understand the suggestion made by militanttihintti of this reminding of the smell of a cat’s forehead (I so wish my cat smelled like this!) as this warm and comforting scent does have a vague gentle muskiness about it.
On my skin I get excellent longevity and the sillage is just right for a fragrance of this type – it won’t invade anyone’s personal space but it is detectable at an arms distance for at least a few hours. I have received several positive comments from co-workers.
For me, this really comes close to an almost perfect fragrance. I will be sure to purchase a back-up bottle as soon as I can afford it.

I read that the whole pyramid is:
Top Notes: Cardamom, Salty Notes, Sichuan Pepper, Yuzu
Heart Notes: Iris, Suede Leather
Base Notes: Ambergris, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Tonka Bean, Vanilla
I also read that this is actually a masculine/unisex fragrance.

I wrote a review two weeks ago, but now I have to write another one.
I was in love with this scent for a little while, but then the vanilla note started to be too much for me.
I generally dislike vanilla scents. Sometimes – very rarely – I discover a scent with a beautiful and well balanced vanilla note and I fall in love with it, but then after a while the vanilla begins to irritate me and it is all I can smell. Sadly, the same thing happened with this one.

It says for women but I can attest it is very uni and warm n masculine!! Winderful scent. The top is modern and somewhat ozonic but the bottom is just outstanding. Somewhat tobacco-ish but the note is not listed. 4 outta 5 for me! Clean fresh aromatic and then it gets all warm n cozy for a really good snuggle scent. Women will love this frag no doubt.

I ordered over a dozen samples and I tried them all on paper as soon as I got them. My first impression of this scent was quite mediocre. I thought that it smelled rather nice on paper but it definitely didn’t make a big impression on me. Smelling this was like meeting someone who’s very nice and pretty, but whose name doesn’t linger on your mind and who you don’t necessarily recognize when you meet them again, even though you found them somehow familiar. Like someone who’s living in the shadow of others.
The next day I was reading a book in my bed and I smelled something very warm and nostalgic, something completely mesmerizing. The scent made me feel all fuzzy and it reminded me of someone I used to be in love with, not any specific person, but the feeling when you ache for something that once was familiar and now almost forgotten. It had the warmness of a loved one’s neck. The scent felt very much alive, it felt like it had a pulse in it.
I stopped reading the book and closed my eyes. I tried to breathe in the smell – all of it. I tried to capture it, but every time I got a grasp of it, it soon got away from me completely.
First I didn’t realize where the scent was coming from, but then I remembered that I had put the used sample papers back in a box in which the order came in and the box was in my bedroom. I was baffled how the scent had remained so strong over 12 hours. I tried to find out which one of the samples this lovely scent was coming from, but all the sample papers and the whole box had this same beautiful scent on them – all the other scents were completely gone.
A day after I identified this lovely scent I tried it on my skin and it smelled even better on skin. It is melancholic but very warm and comforting. I’m not a fan of vanilla scents, but in this the vanilla note is very beautiful and soft like silk. Silky vanilla underneath warm suede leather, iris, salty notes, incense, cardamom, sichuan pepper and woody notes.
AND this also reminds me of the smell on my cat’s forehead – although this isn’t as dusty. I don’t know why but it does! Maybe it’s just the warm, familiar and comforting feeling this scent brings and not the notes – I’m not sure.
This is very unisex fragrance. It brings warmth to cold and dark winter nights. Highly recommended!

A strong taste of oakmoss and also predominantly masculine… I can not notice anything feminine. I do not like it.

I have ordered this on Luckyscent to my man for Christmas..It is listed as a unisex fragrance on the masculine side. I really love fragrances with a twist, which men with balls wear with confidence..I am really looking forward to this one.
