One Word- OUTSTANDING! quality is second to none- the parfum version is even better, more rounded and deep! prefer this to aventus and chanel bleu has nothing on this… 10/10

It’s a Niche style bleu/fresh scent but it is good. I mean if you own this you probably already own some freshies but this is like a cool hybrid of scents, i do feel like this has a Aventus + BdC sort of vibe to it.
It’s a good scent but it’s not really a must have but if you like the idea of a more bleu Aventus type of scent then this is a really nice fragrance and I do get compliments with it but I would say most freshies will give you compliments.
This is a safe blind buy for almost anyone although I do feel this leans more Mature but not by some huge margin, 25+ is what I see enjoying this fragrance. Could be younger tbh just depends on the person and their persona
Is it a must have? I mean for the price not really but if you like to stand out a lil more from the crowd then this is a great way of doing it because it will give ppl that “Hmmm, I think i’ve smelled something similar to this but not quite, i wonder what that is” sort of vibe which is good in a crowd where everyone smells the same you want to be the one that isn’t exactly the same

To my nose this is a lot closer to Terre d’Hermes than to Aventus/Bleu de Chanel mentioned in other reviews. With TDH, I get 60% vetiver/40% citrus (more orange than grapefruit). With Elysium it’s more the opposite – 60% citrus (more grapefruit than orange)/40% vetiver. Not really unique enough to justify the price, but it is enjoyable.

Not that it’s bad it certainly doesn’t reflect what Roja does best. That being unique, powerful, intense works of art. This seems thrown together haphazardly. I guess he was playing to the masses with this woody, citrusy, “greenish” scent. It’s a shame. Longevity and projection are decent. Bottom line is this isnt a good example of what the man is capable of but it’s not bad at all.

I got a Neiman Marcus gift card for my birthday and I’m rather tempted to get this…
Does this Parfum Cologne truly have 8 hour longevity and heavy projection? Feedback from those who own this version would be much appreciated!

Elegant and dignified, conservative and safe for most occasions. For me this fragrance is a remarkable beauty in a bottle. Such a sexy scent full of masculinity that will surely make you look gorgeous on every occasion (especially formal suit and tie). This grapefruit, amber, oriental heaven with touch of incense will make you.
The opening note is one of very sweet grapefruit similar to the Bleu de Chanel line and the residue fades slowly over the next 8- 12 hours into a dark musky leather with fruity undertones. A very enjoyable experience that is definitely worth looking into!
You absolutely can not go wrong with this one. The only downside is the price, I feel like Roja should have put this fragrance more in the designer range of prices because more men would be able to afford it as an alternative to Bleu de Chanel or Sauvage. Your average man who enjoys this type of fragrance is not willing to pay niche prices for it and if they do they are likely to choose Aventus over this one because it’s much more well known. Therefore I think this fragrance is not going to sell well at all. But I suppose that if money isn’t a problem for you then this scent is well worth having in your collection. I’m just hoping that one day I will find a a deal on this most beautiful, mesmerizing juice and be able to purchase a full bottle.

I feel as if I should redo my previous review as it was for the Parfum version.
    This one is AMAZING.
Fruity and woody. This is a staple in easy-to-wear masculine frags.
It starts off with fruit. Very dull fruit. Not juicy like the pineapple in Aventus and not bright like anything with neroli. At first I was a little skeptical of the dullness, but it is just fantastic. Its the most realistic, quality fruit made into a fragrance.
The comes the backbone of wood. Vetiver. I absolutely dislike vetiver, but this has the perfect amount. The way it mixes with the fruit is incredible. It is the perfect combination…very easy to wear, and very quality ingredients.
I got one of the biggest compliments I have ever received while wearing this one. I will always have this one.
The Parfum version is very mature with amped up vetiver which completely takes over.
    OVERALL:
    – Fruity and woody. The perfect combination of young and mature. This is only for serious collectors.

I totally get the Aventus vibe. This is a very nice fragrance. I’m not getting the BdC thing, I guess my nose is broke. If you can find a decant at a reasonable price check it out.

Smells cheap. Quality does not even exceed that of bleu de chanel or ofher fragrances like that. Dont waste your money on this, if youre gonna spend a lot of money on a fragrance for prestige as least buy somethinf with heritage and natural ingredients.
    Scent: 3/10 (cheap smelling)
Performance: 7/10 (good perf. For fresh)
    Projection: 2/10 (nobody smells me)
Price/quality: 1/10 (feel like roja needs his own bleu de chanel or aventus to make lots of money, but qualitywise its below both)

A citrus orgasm!!!! I love this fragrace.

Sublime, salty, fresh, and absolutely breathtaking. Grapefruit, ambergris and a pronounced thyme note that is just absolutely spectacular. Next to Aventus and Green Irish Tweed this would come in a close third. The only fragrance that I would choose over those three would Xerjoff’s Nio. I find this to be a more linear scent, with the ambergris showing up right at the top and staying on until the end. Not a very dynamic fragrance, but solid from start to finish.
A masterpiece from a mastermind. Hats off to Roja Dove.

I wore this today to the office and it reminded me pretty much of Roja’s Vetiver Extrait and MDCI’s Le Barbier De Tanger. Way too much vetiver here for my nose. And it is the kind of vetiver that makes me a bit sick. So despite the high expectations I will have to sell my decant.

I totally agree with HackerX. I don’t understand why people bitching about this to be similar to Chanel Blue but more expensive. Also comparing this to Creed Aventus is ridiculous too. Ask yourself if Chanel Blue is similar to Creed Aventus. Elysium is more dymanic than both Aventus and Bleu and it’s more sophisticate than Bleu for sure.

I’ve recently purchased a bottle and the box came sealed, and for my surprise the bottle is full of scratches. I’m so disappointed and I will never ever buy another roja’s fragrance.

Just nabbed my bottle yesterday. I think there is a lot of hype behind this scent but I also think that we as consumers need to see it for what it is, a high quality fresh spring/summer fragrance. I feel this was created to appeal to the masses. I wrote a review on it earlier about it smelling like Aventus. I recently went back to it and see that while this does have similarities to Sauvage, BdC edp, and Aventus, it does stand alone and is different enough to warrant a purchase even if owning any one of those mentioned above. Some are going to try this and hate it for being too generic and some are going to love it for its mass appealing smell and versatility. Price is something that can go either way. I feel this is a high quality fragrance and with the usual Roja Parfums pricing, it seemed to be close to on par. All and all I feel this is a good solid fragrance. Not everyone will run out and buy it but anyone can wear it with confidence.

What is it with Roja Dove and their high prices for mediocore juice. Elysium is a watered down Aventus with added grapefruit that comes across as too fruity and feminine. I gave my sample to a female client and she loved it.
There’s some clowns on eBay selling an empty bottle of this fragrance for $30. Yep an empty bottle! Hell I wouldn’t pay that for a full bottle. Over hyped, over priced, over shilled.

  18. :

Dont waste your money on this stuff. It smells like a basic designer citrus frag and the longevity and sillage is about the same. Really poor all arounf and when you look at the price tag its almost joke worthy

    LoiusManuel…
first, i don’t get it. you said that you never tried anything from Creed, but yet you said that you like Original Santal? how’s that possible? by judging from Individuel?
2nd, you judged something based on it’s clone?
it’s like having sex using condom, or play the piano using mitten.
still good but the feel will be much different.
so my suggestion is, go out there, sample the REAL THING, and only after that, drop some thoughts of yours again here.
i’m not saying that you will like it, but at least your judgement will be a fair one from a real source.
PS; i’m not an Aventus/Creed fanboy, as i think they are only okay.

  20. :

LouisManuel… How can you can determine what “so many Americans” are focused on? Also, how can you give an opinion on a fragrance house when in fact you haven’t even sampled that fragrance &/or house yet? Why not try it first… then you might understand all the WORLD WIDE hype behind this house… Believe me, Aventus is called the King for a reason… You say you trust your nose but yet buy clones?? Better off trying to read in the dark my friend. Give your nose a sample of the real thing. Only then will you truly understand.

Talk about a scent that has been through the wringer. I bought a bottle last month as I believed it would be good to wear in warm weather. It is but after seeing one review about thinking they got a fake of it, I’m wondering how many others might have gotten a fake? Even worse, when comparing it to Aventus, the similarity is there but it’s not that similar to Aventus post-2015, it’s very similar to Aventus 2011-2014. There’s the similar opening of slightly dark fruit that makes it way to light musk. I believe Dove might have as good of a grip on ambergris as Creed has. This is what I get, black currant, juicy apple (not far from pineapple) and juniper. This juniper note is almost identical to the juniper in Bond #9’s Scent of Peace for Him. There’s a borderline blueberry twist to it. The ambergris settles in and the scent seems to have a mind of its own. The fruity opening never goes completely away on me. It’s refreshing feeling. As it dries down, there’s a little vanilla but it’s the near exact vanilla in Aventus, not the typical sweet vanilla.
I have been wearing it everyday for the last week, in Miami, where there’s high humidity and a tropical storm. It’s complex and even powerful. Which is the beauty of this fragrance, that little apple, juniper and currant is still there no matter how complex it becomes. Besides compliments, I have had people ask me if I’m wearing Aventus and Scent of Peace. I think it’s the selling point of Elysium, this is more like the original, fruity Aventus, than the current formulation of Aventus is. It adds the calming and freshness of Scent of Peace then it dries down nicer than either. I would make Scent of Peace my signature if it didn’t drydown to dryer sheet like Mont Black Individuel and the newer Aventus tries to drydown into a smoky, hazy scent. By the way, nothing against the Mont Blanc, it’s just I expect expensive colognes to drydown better than a sub-$100 cologne.
Lots of talk and questions about the potency of Elysium. The salesman at Neiman Marcus said it’s Dove trying to be unique with the Parfum Cologne potency name and that’s it’s CDP or Cologne-strength parfum instead of EDP which is Water-strength parfum. It’s the other reason I wonder how many are getting fakes of it. This Elysium easily lasts 12 hours on me. The first time I used it, I sprayed it at 6:30 AM and could still smell it on my skin at midnight before getting in the shower. It’s regularly producing 12 hour results even in the heat of Miami. I’m going to see how it performs once I’m back home in the mountains before making it my first signature switch since 2011 but it’s certainly doing enough to be my signature.

Please do not read for now, I think I got a fake from ebay from natural007, I think he sent me fake juice as it smells dead ringer to sultan by al rehab, I will update once I get to the bottom of this.
I’ve got 9.9ml for sale if ya want it PM me!
UPDATE: ok so I just went 3 heavy sprays now that I’ve done some heavy huffing, this is like 4 notches down below BDC, in terms of smell, and performance. Also if you wnat 90% of this, go ahead and buy Agrumi Amari di Sicilia Bois 1920, same vibe only the Bois has a more realistic citrus, and the sweetness isn’t just sweet, its sharp and real. Almost like its got a sugared and salted citrus vs this that is just blazae sugared, no big juicy bite, no perfect caramelized edges. Kinda like simple syrup in lukewarm water, with a small shaving of vetiver as a float, totally flat, not even sitting on some bubbly, just lukewarm water. The Bois also has a prominent petigrain note which also gives a kind of vetiver vibe as its woody, realistic, and green, but easily 5 notches above this disgrace.
If you want niche BDC try Creeds Tabrome.
If you want niche Aventus try: Crystal Rain Renier or Aqaysos Pierre Guillaume ( mango, clean, clear, vibrant, transparent, modern, enthralling.)
    1st Take:
lol, is this a joke? Smells like a cheap knockoff of BDC…
Its light too.. real light! I almost blind bought a full bottle and so glad I didn’t. My initial finding was, oh a famed perfuma makes a higher quality, niche Blue scent. How can it go wrong?
This is slightly good, kinda pleasant, super weak, smells cheap though. Dry down is almost like Coney Island by Bond, but with out the distinct personality and depth.
Its slightly bubble gummy, with a small dash of possible real vetiver in there. Then the rest of the ingredients provide this slight back drop which is just ok.
If a house like this is gonna do a mainstream at least make it bad ass, seriously smells like any blue cologne from a mall with a slight niche edge because of the vetiver, but thats it, what a waste!

I’m going to start out with my initial thoughts on this perfume and it was…oh…it’s another Aventusesque perfume from a nose who I know isn’t in the business of jumping on a bandwagon, regardless of what you think about him. It can’t be denied though that this is one of Roja Dove’s more mainstream style, masculine fragrances. That’s not a bad thing either because this stuff cannot fail to have broad appeal. I started off with the Creed Aventus comparison but please don’t be deceived by this initial impression because in fairness Elysium has it’s own character and masses of hidden depth, something which I think haters of this brand and perfumer are quick to dismiss in many Roja creations. It’s a creeping kind of fresh and uplifting opening with the extra bitter, sharp dimension of grapefruit and juniper, then more of a blackcurrant peeking through as it dries down. The body of the fragrance is of incense and I mean in the broader sense as it’s difficult to detect exactly what is there? Maybe lighter stuff like elemi and olabanum but I also know that Dove is fond of using Labdanum. The base is cedar and vetiver giving a touch of the smoky earth to the base which might be conjuring that Aventus Birch. This is a composition which sounds simple but when you smell this perfume, I’d say it’s more effortless the way the accords are permeable, bleeding into one another. Comparisons with Bleu de Chanel are valid when you look at the note brakdown and Creed as I keep mentioning, so it’s in good company really. The issue comes with performance, which incidentally I found to be quite good, but I’m assuming Elysium is very expensive so anything other than massive, won’t do for most consumers. I really liked it and the longer it went on the less I wanted to make reductive comparisons because this stuff stands up by itself. I won’t be buying but I think it’s a very fresh, High class, citrus fragrance with tonnes to offer and hard not to like really.

Bought 5ml to try it out. At first spray it reminds me of Aventus, but not as smokey. After a while it started to get little bit sour on me, which I guess is the grape fruit.
Really wanted to like this one, but after wearing it for few days, it always gets sour, and kind of annoying.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

nothing similar to Aventus, great misbelief folks; birch is a prominent note of Aventus, I used to buy Aventus for ages and no one time it was similar to Elysium.
Fully agree with all who stated that Elysium = Bleu de Chanel – if you are not a perfumer you hardly find the difference. I was never happy with longevity and projection of Bleu dC. Given the fact that I bought Elysium only a few hours ago – I can say nothing about its longevity and projection; in direct close comparison Elysium is fresher and I would prefer it instead “dusty” Bleu. In coming days I will update my review in regard to quality.

To me it smells like L’Aventure by Al Haramain.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

It is nice citrus fragrance that is well blended and of high quality.
But considering the price, there is nothing special about it and there are so many better options to go for under this genre.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

First Impression: Although clearly defined as “niche” based on price, ingredients and the parfumeur involved, this fragrance is a mere continuation of a lot of niche brands in the last couple of years stepping away from the more daring, complex and challenging scents. To my nose, it appears Roja was and is clearly aiming for the mass appeallling DNA that is so prevalent these days…
It’s like some of these niche houses are saying, ‘let’s take Dior Sauvage, Prada L’Homme, Bleu de Chanel or Invictus Aqua and let’s make niche versions with that mass-appealing note breakdown’. Will this approach work, will fragheads gravitate in that direction…?!??
Only time will tell- Stay-tuned for full review with a comparison of the Pure Parfum and the Parfum Cologne…

    Reminded me of Coney Island..

  30. :

    4 out of 5

Smells like Versace Eau Fraiche done with better quality ingredients. I think it an insult to BDC and Aventus if Elysium were compared to those genre defining releases.
I have Roja Aoud on one hand and Elysium on the other and the difference in approach is startling.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

The scent is beautifully crafted like a luxury lemmony bathroom spray that wanted very much to be the trophy husband of Profumum Roma’s Acqua Viva but instead gave up around “hump-o’clock” at the bar and went home for a Wobbly H with BDC and Sauvage.
    What the hell Roja?
It transitions within the first hour to include a slight herbal quality that altogether reminds me of a bag of off brand citrus gummibears that someone hotboxed a toke of ditchweed into.
I have some Roja’s that I adore and I respect the house on most compositions but this is a pink-sock level dump of generic department store fragrance fetishism that underperforms and lacks any redeeming qualities. If the juniper had been turned up to 11 and the citrus stuck around like a Profumum Roma can: this might have been a true holy grail.
I’m not even going to rate it. Just disappointed.
Save yourself the money and buy a good bottle of ADP Colonia Essenza and if you *must* then layer it with Vince Camuto (the one with the blue leatherette wrapped bottle) and you will have a better performing and more intriguing version of this with money left over.

  32. :

    4 out of 5

I don’t really get any resemblance to Aventus..maybe it is similar in the way they both have this juicy, ‘humid’ quality to it. The black currant and ambergris are also noticeable.Where it differs is that this is a whole fruit basket, not just the (mainly) pineapple. I also seem to get an aquatic note that reminds me of a sauna beside a chlorinated pool. In short – a soft, slightly aquatic fruit punch/bubble gum scent with a couple familiar notes from Aventus. A scent it is closer to is Erba Pura, but I find this to be more refined (Erba Pura is an ambroxan nuclear bomb). Highly pleasant, if not all that original
    Also..BdC has nothing on this

  33. :

    3 out of 5

I’m sniffing a test sample at the moment – it’s a very nice, lush and sweet fruity scent, reminds me of Pulp by Byredo.
I suppose it does have a hint of Aventus but not really, and as for smelling like Bleu de Chanel, lol, it smells nothing at all like it! Bizarre comparison.
It’s a nice smell, and I would theoretically buy it over Pulp which I’m considering as apparently they’ve stopped making it – however…
The sillage is WEAK!!! It is a skin scent, absolutely. I have to put nose to wrist to smell it, even with two sprays. I just measured how close my nose needs to be to smell my wrist: 1 – 1.5 inches away.
Pulp blasts out, though I feel is less sophisticated – I wish Roja had given this more “umph” somehow. I don’t know how this is possible with perfume but… Elysium needs it.
After an hour or so the frag has all but disappeared – very short longevity.

I smelled this today at my local NM store and it reminded me of something at home. Couldn’t put my finger on it but when I got home and smelled a few fragrances, I realized this smells just like Aventus 17Q11. I mean this is a 98% or better clone of this batch. To be fair the Roja is a better performer all around but I had heard this was a mix of Aventus Sauvage, and Bdc. Thank goodness it wasn’t true. Just another Aventus clone. BdC and Sauvage doesnt seem to have similarities. When I use up my BdC, Sauvage, and Aventus I may get this one but as long as I have those 3 this is one I will not be grabbing anytime soon. Sorry Roja and to all of those who think this stands alone but it is what it is.

Aventus meets Dior Sauvage with a twist of Juniper Berries. Very nice scent a very safe scent. What you can do is buy this instead of Aventus cause its about 100 dollars cheaper Also you can purchase Sauvage, Chanel Blue ,that new Coach mens fragrance etc etc .Compliment Monster from women if that’s what you are looking for 21 and up is the age range. Dressed up or dressed down you are good to go. Signature scent worthy for someone who literally walks around saying he/she is wearing a 300 dollar fragrance.

It smells like Bleu de Chanel, Sauvage Dior, Aventus Creed ? Yes,but. It,s much softer and more natural than Chanel and Dior and less barbershop and creamier than the excellent Aventus. So it,s a good quality, modern fragrance. I like it very much.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

One phrase to sum it up: Roja Dove does Creed Aventus.

  40. :

Purchased the parfum version for one reason it smells like my Z01 Aventus.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

Though I like the fragrance, it comes and goes in minutes. No longevity whatsoever. I bought it this past Saturday and already returned it. If anything, the bottle is nice, but I don’y buy for the bottle.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

It starts off a greener, woodier Aventus, pretty underwhelming given the notes list but I guess that’s a price you pay for a blurry blend rather than the whole product based on 1 focused note
It lacks sweetness; the galbanum and woodworm notes in the opening put me off and there too little syrupy booze / vanilla at the start to redeem.
Rest doesn’t really matter, it could be the greatest scent ever later on but I need a Top heavy scent that does this, and certainly am not waiting around for any drydowns paying over $200 -300 + for a bottle!
More concerningly, the quality was not up to Mr Roja’s sky-high standards
    My rating: 4/10
    Quality: 7/10

  43. :

    3 out of 5

It’s well blended and long lasting but it’s plain to see this is Roja’s attempt to ride the coat-tails of the Aventus/Bleu de Chanel-esque masculine success stories. We’re talking about an uninspiring citrus-led freshie with accords in common with both of the aforementioned and a dose of Eau Suavage Cologne for good measure.
It’s good (and it should be for £225) but it’s certainly not groundbreaking. Safe and commercial, some would say it’s a sell-out fragrance from Mr Dove and, I’m afraid to say that I’m inclined to agree. 6.5/10

    So I own
    Amber Aoud,Reckless,Enigma,& Amore Mio
As a regular at his flagship boutique, I received a tester for this.
It opens up – and I kid you not – smelling like indoor pool chlorine and eventually because it cannot get any worse, eases into citrus. but not the good kind as in Scandal or Oligarch citrus. A synthetic mainstream note of sorts. Easy pass
That being said i’m still attending Mr Dove’s Elysium event this october.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

    Is this a joke?
    Really wtf is that??
I went to Saks Fifth Avenue and sniffed this tester and was shocked
It smells like a 20 USD perfume thats repeated zillions of times
    Roja has gone crazy
Nice stuff though smelled there was Clive Christian
Although i am more inclines nowadays to buy natural oils like Attars or Ensar perfumes, coz for me at least their price is justified being all natural and difficult to extract
For me niche though is starting to be so symtheic and generic it sucks,

Finally got my nose on this highly anticipated creation….and was instantly disappointed. Other have mentioned how this smells nothing like his other creations, which to me are more than the sum of their parts.
This is not so finely crafted nor does it hail to past perfumes as well as some of his other creations (Scandal, Creation-E,etc). If indeed Roja pays some other perfumer to create a scent then takes credit for it, this is one that must’ve gotten by because it smells so much different than any other of his high quality releases.
What I get from this is a highly synthetic mess. Yes there is a homage to Aventus in the top notes (can’t speak to the Blu similarity as I’m anosmic to it) but there is also a strong, although synthetic Juniper note that mainly composes the mid and base. And that is where it stays for me, Aventus Top, Juniper for the duration.
Longevity is poor (as is Scandal for me) but the overall composition makes you glad the short trip is over.
If you like this but can’t afford it or don’t want to spend the money on this (nor is it worth it in my opinion)look at Gemina B Confidential (they’re not listed in the Fragrantica data base).

  47. :

    3 out of 5

This is really an anomaly. “Elysium” does not smell like a Roja Dove creation. It is so utterly generic and ‘designer sports frag’ in its appeal, I’m kind of shocked to see the price tag.
About twenty other fragrances came to mind when I smelled the opening, and another twenty more followed as it wore on.
It has that bitter, fresh pineapple and dry cedar thing you get in Bleu du Chanel, Suavage and Aventus all boosted with salty ambroxan. It’s pleasant, but so what? You will smell like every other fade-cut wearing gym rat on the train ride home, so why fork out so much for this?

Wore my sample today and literally 1 minute after applying, i got 2 very enthusiastic compliments lol. This is a rare occasion for me to get this reaction from strangers so the juice is very appealing to others. What do i think of Elysium? I think the scent character is outrageously good! Possibly one of the most pleasant and interesting stuff iv’e had my nose on. I don’t see a massive similarity to Bleu like others have said and there is absolutely no similarities to La Nuit so i find them comparisons baffling. I get an Aventus like vibe from it but not as in a clone/copy etc because they smell different but just the richness and masculine freshness. One major downside is that the longevity is way below average for something in this price range! Projection dies down fairly quickly too but my god does it smell amazing. So amazing in fact that i may actually save up for a bottle anyway, despite the performance issues. Here’s hoping there is a nice little deal on black friday this year!

To my nose Elysium fairs closest to La Nuit de L’Homme by YSL and Xerjoff 1861 Renaissance. Lemon, Lime, grapefruit with juniper berries is what I detect at first sniff. This is a well blended citrus opening followed by a vanilla, vetiver, labdanum and slight peppery closing. I would say this scent almost emulates the Xerjoff fragrance line. This is showdown between the Italian Stallion and the Greek God Apollo. This is “ciao”!!! and “opa”!!! at the same time. I would say this scent could be whatever you want it to be. It’s fresh, young and vibrant. This stuff wreaks of a good time from dawn until dusk, just like the bottle portrays.

    [Review of the Parfum Version]
This starts off with a sweet juicy citrus note and then dries down to a good ole boring Aventus base.
I really like the opening, but very disappointed with the dry down. It is a shame…
I am sure Creed will be tickled pink by the attention.
Nice scent, but if you own Aventus, not worth buying a full bottle. Even if you don’t own Aventus, you are better off buying Aventus and saving some dough.

I’ve been comparing BDC EDP and Elysium PC for a week now. While I understand how we all draw comparisons of the two I cannot stress how different they are the more I wear the two.
The Chanel is no where near as evolving or dynamic as the Roja. While both have similar citrus openings Elysium has a juicy tartness about it, it just feels much more fruity and vibrant.
Bleu de Chanel also stays fairly linear, it remains woody and ambery for a long time, Elysium on the other hand turns into a soft musk and peppery scent with some woody and vanilla undertones, but it never looses that vibrant fruitiness, this fruitiness makes Elysium a tad sweeter.
As ironic as it sounds, when comparing the two the Chanel actually smells much more “cologney”, meaning much more over-the-counter. Even though I love Bleu de Chanel EDP I must say that Elysium has it beat in all areas except for performance (which is still quite close in comparison).
I can say that this is probably the very first really mass appealing scent from Roja, but this is by no means a generic scent! It is quite complex like all other Roja creations, and just when you think how can someone make an opulent, multi-dimensional and modern scent that is steps above the other similar-styled fragrances on the market today Roja does it again!

Tried this at Harrods today. It smells remarkably similar Bleu EDP as has been noted already. How similar? Very similar indeed.
I can still smell it on my wrist over 12 hours later so Longeivty is excellent although projection stayed modest throughout.
However, regardless of performance my initial take is that it’s so similar to Bleu that it can’t possibly warrant the price tag.

When I saw this new release, I directly ordered a sample spray. Today it arrived.
Elysium is sweet with lots of grapefruit and vanilla. It has this “modern” chemical twist which makes the fragrance tingle a bit. This is also found in for example Aventus. I like this part.
Furthermore in the drydown I see the resemblance of Eros (don’t know that fragrance too well, but if I recall well it is in the same direction), but not too much of Bleu de Chanel.
    Consistancy and quality are good.
What I don’t like is the buttery, cl
