As a gourmand lover,I could expect to like Gourmand Coquin but I didn’t even think of such a huge love.it was a love at first sniff and I knew that I can’t live without it.
There’s only one perfume shop that offers exclusive Guerlains in my whole country and they are very expensive there(more than 400$ !)but I was blinded with love and just knew that I need to take Gourmand coquin and French kiss home with me and now I’m thrilled to bits to have such amazing fragrances
I have numerous chocolate, cacao perfumes and dozens of other gourmands but none of them come close to this one
To me the most dominant notes are dark chocolate, cacao and vanilla.it’s not overly spicy, not too much boozy either,I can smell just a hint of rum’s warm boozyness and a little dash of pepper and a little cinnamon sometimes, and yes,I can detect a shy rose lurking around.I also agree with some reviews mentioning a faint smokey undertone which reminds me chocolate flavored Captain Black siggarets.drydown is a smooth chocolate-vanilla powder
Gourmand Coquin is very yummy without being cloyingly sugary.it’s very very addictive and very sexy, not just on a woman but also on a gourmand lover man.it’s also very cozy and comforting.whenever I wear it,my nose is glued to my wrist and if it wasn’t so expensive I’d love to spray it before sleep to fall asleep on a smooth cacao-vanilla blanket.
people will remember and recognize this fragrance on you since it’s not forgettable.I was surprised to find out how much my husband,my sister and my father love it on me as all three of them usually don’t like and complement gourmands.this is mostly a cold weather perfume and a must have for all cacao-chocolate lovers
Gourmand Coquin is longlasting.I had sprayed it more than 10 hours ago and it’s still there as a light skinscent.sillage is very good when first sprayed but it rapidly decreases.this is the only thing I’d change about it,also about my beloved French Kiss.I wished they were sillage monsters.anyway I love them and consider them as my new top favorites
P.S: call me crazy but Gourmand Coquin reminds me Al Rehab Chocomusk! not that they’re exact dupes, the former one is definitely high quality, has more complexity and balance and is more pleasant but they both have the same DNA of cacao chocolate and vanilla powder.considering Chocomusk’s super cheap price and stronger projection I think one can wear them together to use less of the expensive Gourmand Coquin

I purchased this from Saks a year ago and I enjoy it, even though I find it to be one of my softer scents, especially after hours of wear. Upon first spray the dominant note is Dark Cocoa Powder. There is a sweetness that reminds me of high quality Dark Chocolate Covered Cherries. But after 10-15 minutes, the sweetness morphs into a candied rose in bloom.
On my skin, this candy rose note is 2nd most noticeable–it is what provides the sweetness, followed by gingerbread-like spices and then faint rum.
My daughter is 6 feet away from me and can smell the perfume on first application. She says I smell like spicy cocoa. So the sillage is moderate in the early stage.
I realize I have a tendency to be anosmic to it and only get whiffs of it on myself as the hours go by. Otherwise, I sometimes forget I’m wearing perfume, unless I also spray this on my clothing.
Strangely, after a few days, I can smell this on a sweater I’ve sprayed earlier in the week. (That’s after wearing a different perfume). So it’s like I’ve gotten used to the scent the day I wear it, but after ‘taking a break from it’ I can sense it again. I believe others will smell this fragrance around you even when you can’t sense it. But if you really want them to notice it on you, you should spray it liberally on clothing as well.
I enjoy this fragrance mostly when I sniff my own arm. That’s how it’s the strongest. Otherwise, after I finish up this bottle, I’m not sure that I will repurchase. It is one of my more expensive perfumes.
I do also own French Kiss from the Guerlain Charnel line and find that I’m less anosmic to that one. I’ve listed Gourmand Coquin as one of my favorite perfumes because it smells so fantastic, however it really is a soft scent.
By the way, the French pronounce this something like Gourmand Coke-yawn
and the 2nd syllable is quickly pronounced with barely any emphasis

My sampling of Guerlain Gourmand Coquin is long overdue. Upon initial smell (even on paper, when I first got a whiff of it in BG), it’s obviously an elegant, carefully-crafted, high-quality gourmand fragrance, the vanilla and chocolate accords standing out the most. Still, there is the faint booziness of the rum and spiciness of the pepper (and vaguely listed “spices”), but I admit I don’t detect the rose directly. Rose is generally welcome at the table as far as I’m concerned, as when it’s not a standout, it can be a neat nuance to incorporate.
Gourmand Coquin mostly gives the air of sweet sophistication, not an over-the-top, indulgent gourmand that smells of actual food, but rather, the artistic representation of the given notes, especially vanilla and chocolate.
Its performance is superb, quite a standout, like the other high-end heavier Guerlain offerings I’ve tried.
Pricing for Gourmand Coquin and the rest of the Elixir Charnel collection is on pair with L’Art et la Matiere collection (i.e. SDV, TI) at $260 for 75ml, so it’s surely in that $3+/ml category of probably needing to love it to consider buying a full bottle. I do love it, though.
Certainly on my list to be acquired–simply put, one of the best gourmands I’ve ever tried.

I only purchase and wear Guerlain fragrances and when I discovered this one I fell in love. This is one of the Guerlain fragrances that are not as easy to find. I purchased mine at the Guerlain boutique in the France Pavilion at Epcot at Walt Disney World.
It is a deep gourmand scent, very sweet on the initial spray and dies down to a lovely rum and cocoa/chocolate like scent. This one stays on the skin FOREVER. Its a warm and spicy scent with sweet undertones. This is truly amazing.

My review from May 25th disapeared from here. Did I hurt somebody’s feelings and got down voted?
I repost what I wrote because I am intrigued by the yeast note. How come it is not mentioned here by at least one of my fellow perfume addicts? My bottle was bought at Guerlain’s in Paris, so no dupe or expired or exposed to shipping problems.
” I am intoxicated by this divine perfume. A lot has been said about the notes but nobody mentions a note which IMO stands out prominently:
    yeast!
What combination of ingredients could create this scent? A friend of mine tested it on paper because I rave about this perfume and she totally agreed with me, she added the yeast note was far more obvious on paper than on me.”

This makes me smell like yeasty chocolate. Chocolate bread. It’s not for me, it’s too powdery.

    Scent – dark chocolate liqueur.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the colder months, day or night.
    Projection – I didn’t get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 24hrs consistently.

I wear a lot of vanilla and tend to lean more towards pure vanilla notes, so to my nose this isn’t an especially “vanilla” fragrance. I can pick up the rose, but little to no spice. It’s pleasant, warm, smooth, soothing, but doesn’t project much of anything special. I’ve been going through a sample for days, trying to pick up on the notes most other reviewers gush about, but for me they simply are not there enough to stand out.
Cacao? Nope, not smelling that, either.
It’s beautiful, elegant, charming, and sweet, but not vanilla enough for my nose. Still a lovely fragrance and I can understand why others love it, but I won’t be buying a full bottle.
Update after reapplication two hours later: Okay, it’s growing on me. It fades quickly on my skin, but it’s compelling while it lasts. I’m a low-volume sprayer so this one would need small reapplications throughout the day, but it’s very pleasant. Will definitely test more before I commit to a fb.

So smooth and rich, I love it! It is very foody, if it tasted as good as it smells like it should, I would definitely develop a weird wrist licking habit. But it’s not off-puttingly foody; for me it’s very wearable. It is very chocolatey indeed, but not in a supermarket chocolate way; we’re talking the finest Michelin star restaurant truffle creation here. Personally I prefer it for cosy occasions, as it gives such a warm and snuggly feeling. It is rather pricey to wear at home in your jammies too often though (I do it anyway). But it does smell rich and luscious and oozes quality, so I also wear it out to events.
If the rose was more prominent, it would make it less of a straight gourmand. I’d like to smell a more rose-heavy version; my nose can’t make out any floral note and I think it would be a nice balance. But it’s still pretty darn wonderful just as it is!

To me, Gourmand Coquin is indeed the gourmand to end all gourmands! I first tried this while on a trip to Vegas. My expectations were not that high, figured it was being hyped up but it actually well exceeded my expectations.
It reminds me a bit of warm baking chocolate chips cookies, with a bit of a spicy twist, maybe almost like gingerbread cookies, with a mild boozy note in it. In Vegas, I remembered reading that someone here mentioned that it reminded them of those butter rum Lifesavers, and I completely agree! It’s warm, buttery, boozy, spicy, chocolatey. It is sweet but not cloying or overwhelming, it is simply divine.

  14. :

    5 out of 5

Gourmand Coquin is so popular among fragrance lovers that I expected a lot from it. Maybe too much. I basically expected it to be the gourmand to end all gourmands.
It does smell very good, but in the end, after elaborate testing, it’s a like and not a love for me.
So, this has a boozy note in the beginning, I can also smell a hint of almond or marzipan and something smokey. The rose note is subtle but makes the fragrance more elegant and less foody. 90% of the fragrance is linear chocolate and vanilla though.
Every note is executed very well and smells high quality, the perfume has a hint of guerlainade, it’s intense and long lasting. It does not smell like any cheap chocolate candle, lotion or other product. But I guess I’m just not enough of a ‘solifood’ fan for this. It’s just rather one-dimensional and it’s missing a special something to really stand out from other fragrances and make me crave it.
This is just a matter of personal style and taste. If you’re into gourmand solonotes, this is a very fine fragrance, but to me it didn’t live up to the hype.

I asked a friend, he said “Charnel” as an adjective means something along the lines of sexual appetite or sexual lust, sexual greediness etc.
I adore this fragrance by the way. It’s a touch more powdery than I expected, but still a phenomenal frag.

    @ AnnabellLee
I think the concept they are going for is ‘carnal’ as in carnal knowledge (sex) and Google Translate tells me ‘coquin’ means ‘rascally.’
so… I’m about as lost as you are. Though having a perfume called “Carnal Elixir – Gourmand Rascal” does sound like it would be a trip.

Very boozy chocolate that is almost musky. A chocolate musk. Sweet but not the cheap nasty dessert sweet. Alluring and rich.

I’m not a great fan of gourmand frags, but this is one of the few exceptions: a vanilla modulated concentrate (extract-like) rum chocolate, with great longevity and reasonable sillage. Guerlain is never short of surprises!
A masterpiece of two of the best noses of Guerlain (Christine Nagel & Sylvaine Delacourte)
At Xmas, I’ll spray it on a layer of Lutens’ Fille en Aiguilles or Guerlain’s Prima Ballerina (or Paris-Moscow, also with nice pine needles) to feel like a Santa Claus 🙂
I’ve heard rumors by professionals that Sylvaine is preparing a line of vanilla frags, after her outstanding musks line of her own brand. This sounds very promising !

I have refrained from writing a review on this one for quite a while, simply because I don’t know if I can do it justice.
This arrived as a surprise sample, from a lovely man back in Toronto. I’d wanted to try Bouquet de Mariee, and he threw this one into the mix as well. Perhaps that was a blessing, since this was infinitely more affordable than the Bouquet de Mariee.
The minute I put this one on, I just felt like I was home. I don’t know how else to describe it. The initial blast was of Butter Rum Lifesavers; the ones that they always used to put in the Lifesavers booklet that popped up in Christmas stockings across North America. It was the most delectable scent, but it also brought back a wave of nostalgia for me. The initial butter rum scent lasted for about 20 minutes, when it smoothly transformed into chocolate and spices. About an hour in, a bit of a floral note starts to creep in at the back of the chocolate.
I get enormous longevity out of this one, with it lasting upwards of 12 hours on my skin, and much longer on fabric. Despite the longevity, I find it to be closer to a skin scent, than one with monster sillage. If someone is standing next to you, they will probably smell it. If someone is more than 2 feet away, they probably won’t smell it.
I had one of the Guerlain tube samples, which I was trying to make last as long as possible, so I’ve never tried it in warm weather. It seems like it would be a better cold weather scent, but now that I have a full bottle (finally!!), I’ll have to try it in warm weather, just to see how it fares.
I have not found another perfume like this, or even one that comes close.

Christine Nagel and Sylvaine Delacourte sign a great job, swirling etymaldolytic.
And they carry Pink Aquarium Aquarium to the levels of paradise.
Intense yarn, caramel and soft sugar.
The descriptive notes are misleading, there is no chocolate here, at least there is no fondant, there is no crispy, possibly only butter (if any) of cocoa. And I repeat so many variations on the sugar note, almost vanilla is the filling of the gums of the guerrilla PR Noire licorice.
Pink Rum and a Beautiful Pepper.
Very nice, it’s not a Mugler but … okay, great quality.

This one starts with a sharp Rumnote on my skin. After a while it goes down to a cacao/choclate-scent with an airy spicy note. Nice, but I will not buy a bottle. Somehow this reminds me of TF Black Orchid – but this one is lighter and sweeter. If you love chocolate-note – this one is a must try.

This is one I was convinced I would want to buy while in Paris, but didn’t. The beginning is delicious, after two hours, it’s delicious again, but the in between period (when you can smell it the strongest) is odd. I noticed Blue Agave from Jo Malone does the same thing, so it must be the floral/choco combo. I had sprayed it on and was walking down the street about 20 minutes later and thought, what is that stink? It was me! The pepper and rose do odd things with the chocolate for a while, almost a rotten smell, and I thought it was too long of a while for the price. I maintain that Guerlain is the most amazing house on the market though, it really is a grown up chocolate, if you can get past garbage/armpit stage, which I just couldn’t.

  24. :

Okay, I absolutely LOVE this!!! I find it extremely sexy. Here’s the thing…It has low sillage, especially after an hour or so. However, the longevity is outstanding. I applied this yesterday and I can still smell it today, late into the evening. I think this scent would be very good for close encounters. You could even spray some on the sheets and it would be heaven. It is very expensive to use solely for that purpose though. I think this is a very unique and gorgeous scent. Yes, the price is outrageous. No, it doesn’t project well. This is a fragrance you buy for YOU to enjoy- not everyone else, or for intimate moments where you want to feel beautiful, sexy and inviting.
UPDATE: managed to get a compliment at the airport, so it does project a lil’ something for the first few hours 🙂

  25. :

    5 out of 5

Chocolatey, boozy…..delicious! The scent is very true to the note pyramid, so if you think it sounds nice just by the description, then you’ll probably love it. It is deep, rich, and luxurious to wear. It surrounds you like a cloud of cashmere! Sillage is about 3 feet. Longevity is 5-6 hours.
This is a scent I wear year round because it’s too delicious to take it out of rotation for any length of time. In warm months it smells sweet and dense, and the rose note is postively luscious! In cooler temps, the spicy and fruity notes shine a bit more and the fragrance feels thinner. Stunning either way.
The price makes this a risky blind buy, but if you like gourmand scents, this is a must-try!!
    It’s so so so good!

  26. :

A very soft and very well balanced gourmand that delivers what the ingredients promise; is it worth the outrageous price I saw online? If you have so much money that you don’t know what to do with it, yes; otherwise I suggest to go for something that doesn’t literally break the bank. It is quite lovely, though…
Edit: I have been wearing my Gourmand Coquin sample a few times now and am devastated – I cannot afford this fragrance!!!!!! This really is what I have been looking for in a chocolate scent all along. Here comes at last a scent from Guerlain I can see myself wearing but it’s not to be (at least not now). GC is soft but by no means weak; one or two sprays on my clothes last all day into the night.

After the first test on paper I decided to try it on skin. Altough I don´t like que “guerlinade” powdery-vanillic accord I decided to give it a chance and I bought it because i knew that I would regret later if not. Chocolate fused very well with rose and rum, on my skin it works wonderfull. I´ve received several compliments from girls 🙂 I knew I had to have it. I tested before a lot of options with chocolate and cacao like Montale’s, Kyse, LOEWE, Prada, but this was the winner. I think this is worht 95% of the money because is so unique, 5% rest I would change the powdery guerlinade accord.

  28. :

I almost cried when I got my first (not to mention the second-157th) whiff of this. Where is the chocolate, rose, rum, and vanilla? Alas and alack, I, personally, only picked up the Guerlainade, a generic masculine undertone, a touch of camphor and quite a bit of spice. Mostly nutmeg.
I was nearly ready to beg, torture, and kill for this outrageously priced elixir, based on the reviews, and found it to be nothing special at all. I’m very, very envious of those who found all the luscious notes that are supposed to be here. I sense none of them.
JFTR, it, indeed, IS 100% genuine. After owning, and returning or exchanging, both LREN, Mon Guerlain, and now Gourmand Coquin, I think I can safely say Guerlain and I will never be a good fit.
EDA- I have to say that after I dropped any expectations I had, based on the note pyramid and the reviews implying that this smells like boozy, rose jam filled chocolate truffles (not even remotely what I get from this fragrance), and gave it a second chance based on its own unique, spicy, warm, exotic merits, I’ve become quite enamoured of this intoxicating wonder. It’s not what you think it’s going to be, but gorgeous for what it actually is.

A true grown-up gourmand. Soooooo delicious. The chocolate/cacao note here is superb, and actually realistic. The booze and rose add the perfect touch to tie the whole creation together and never clash or develop a “rotten” smell like I sometimes get from Noir de Noir. It has that recognizable powdery Guerlainade accord too, which is especially apparent in the dry down. For some reason, I particularly love to wear Gourmand Coquin on rainy days. Maybe it cheers me up 🙂

  30. :

This was one of my first blind buys. The first time I used it, I was so disappointed, I couldn’t believe I had spent almost $300 for a perfume that smelled like something from Bath and Body Works. I’m so glad I kept it and gave it another try. This is the creamiest, richest fragrance I’ve ever smelled. No weird patchouli or musk to get in the way, just straight boozy rum, chocolate, vanilla, and light spices. It’s wearable and unoffensive and delectable, the only con is the sillage. I can spray in the morning and still smell in the late afternoon, however I’ve never had anyone other than my kids comment on the way I smell when I wear it, which makes me think it doesn’t project very well. My 14 year old’s comment the first time I wore it? ‘I smell hot cocoa’ I took that as a compliment.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

Found a small sample I had of this and never used… a chocolate/honey/sweet pepper dream… great sillage too… now if I can only locate a full bottle…

  32. :

    4 out of 5

Gourmand Coquin doesn’t hold any surprises, we get exactly what’s in the list of notes. It smells like some exquisite dark chocolate bonbon filled with sweet rum. It smells more like cocoa than milk chocolate and the boozy rum makes it like some fine luxury treat. The sweetness mostly comes from the vanilla and there’s the hint of spices in the background… And somehow the rose fits perfectly into this yummy concoction.
It’s very simple and linear, but the charm lies in the quality ingredients that really make me yearn for the real edible version. I don’t mind it linear, I wouldn’t want this heavenly smell switch into anything else.
The sillage is soft, but longevity is incredible on me. It’s a bit too pricy for a skinscent, but to be honest I can justify the money, because it smells so damn realistic. One of my favourite gourmands.

Coquin is a must of chocolate lovers . The sweetness from Rum and powdery cocoa steal the show. For a gourmand which has overly sweet notes the perfumer has blended it well.
Fragrance projects well in winters upto a feet without offending anyone .

This is an excellent Vanilla based scent although marketed for woman like most vanilla are but i think its unisex. This is not Vanilla dominant like SDV can be however imagine Chocolate which is layered with Vanilla and you having them together with glass of rum on winter evening . I have thoroughly enjoyed smelling myself today and i will recommend to all woman and guys who love gourmand based fragrance to try this as no one does vanilla better then Guerlian IMO . It projects and last very well and Decant is the next step for me 🙂

My love for this grows with each wearing. It is a true gourmand, but nuanced, and slightly different with the weather. I prefer it at night, and it seems better on skin than fabric. Notes- white chocolate, milk chocolate, tea rose, vanilla, marshmallow. But it’s guerlain so it wears like perfume not straight up food. New gourmand lovers should test this one immediately.

I just got a couple samples of this fragrance. It is dark chocolate, cacao, and rum. Then settles into a dusty truffle and lasts and lasts on that truffle note. It is super yummy. I think it’s best for fall/winter, night-time or special events. There’s something ‘dusty’ and intimate about it that does not make me think of sunshine and summer or even being outside. It is not a bright or spicy fragrance. This is a chocolate gourmand at its best. Soooo expensive though … not sure if I would buy?

What a fabulous review paneradfisk!!! Spot on and SO beautifully put!!! You have put it all in a gorgeous nutshell. I love this exquisite perfume! It’s everything you say – lovely lovely creamy milk chocolate, with all those other very interesting foody smells. Yum and Yum!!! So delicious. Rum, gingerbread, vanilla!!! Fabulous stuff!!! And wonderful rose and cinnamon – truly intoxicating. And so elegant and refined! Wowowo! Beautiful. I really love it.

I love, love, love this. This is like an oily gingerbread dough to me, confirmed by my close friends. Also very reminiscent of a chai latte. The chocolate is neither dark, bitter or powdery. It’s a soft melted milk chocolate like a warm winter beverage, sharing the spotlight with an equally prominent warm and innocent vanilla. Round, oily, fatty, ethereal, soft, innocent, warm and ever so softly spicy. Actually, if I could reconstruct the notes I would list gingerbread, vanilla and milk chocolate. I love layering this with citrus and rose scents. Smith’s Rosebud lipbalm in Mocha Rose comes very close, try it and you will see. Also, if you love this but can’t afford it, I recommend Oui Plus by Kyse Perfumes. Although not a dupe in any way, it may satisfy your chocolate craving.

My first review of this was in 2014…fast forward a couple of years after many new fragrances and tests…and this is still hands down ‘the best thing I have ever smelled!’
I have coveted my bottle of this (have used about half now) and every time I wear it I’m reminded that ‘this is it’. It’s my scent. It’s just perfect…a bit gourmand but still perfumey…beautiful, still haunting and worth every penny.
So why do I continue to purchase things I just don’t love like I do this? I should just sell my entire collection and buy myself a few bottles of this beauty. Why waste my time? LOL I just adore this perfume!!!!!

  42. :

I avoided trying this perfume for a long time because I feared I would love it. Well like many I caved and bought a decant on eBay, and yes, I love it. If you are a gourmand person you’ve been warned. It makes me think of elements of Lolita L, Prada Candy, any good sweet vanilla scent, Al-Rehab Chocolate Musk, and spice cake seasonings. Basically if your a fan of anything I just listed, and don’t want to become addicted to Coquin and find yourself selling, scraping and saving to be able to buy it, just walk away now. Never test a decant.
Is it worth $260? OMG sadly yes. I can’t believe they priced it that high but yes, it’s totally worth selling off those bottles of perfume that sit rarely used, bypassing the good chocolate for awhile (who really needs those calories anyway), cutting out the unnecessary new shirt or new pair of jeans, and buying it. Sigh. And yes, I ordered mine, but I at least used Ebates to do it and got some money back to ease the pain.

Exactly a week ago, I was able to sample Gourmand Coquin again and I put a few drops on a tissue that I tucked into my handbag… Since then, that tissue has been a source of pure joy to me! I’m almost hesitant to sniff it too much as I don’t want to lose the fragrance before my special order full bottle arrives… I sampled this before in HGK and reviewed it here from my thoughts at the time. I can only assume that my tastes have changed – or maybe I had completely different expectations then – because my review wasn’t hugely positive and yet I can’t let this tatty tissue go now! I recall an overwhelming marshmallow scent from the sample before but then it seemed to become florally and rather unappealing. I’m wondering whether I’d contaminated the fragrance (or myself) with another sample at the time, or was I spritzed with something else… or was it that I was just totally besotted with the SDV on my other arm and Gourmand Coquin was overshadowed? Whatever the case, a week later and now my precious tissue is giving me wafts of milk chocolate with pretty rose undertones. It’s sweet but deliciously so and not overpowering in any way. Its delicate and dreamy and so very, very edible. I’m dying to get my hands on my full bottle and take up the perfumers suggestion of layering it with my precious SDV… it’s SOOOO nice to have something to look forward to again!

Found a small decant of this beauty off eBay since at the time I could not justify the price for a full bottle. I might have to now though, because one sniff of the decant and I fell in love instantly. Gorgeous scent. I feel like I’m wrapping myself in exquisite chocolate truffle-scented satin sheets, lounging on the daybed eating vanilla cookies and sipping on rum-spiked hot cocoa. I’ve never quite experienced a fragrance that smells both sweet and so refined at the same time. I’ve gotten compliments from both men and women. Grab a decant if you can and treasure it.

Gorgeous smooth rich chocolate in the dry down. The initial phase is my preference and favourite.
Initially it’s gourmand rose rum and fudge like. In the dry down its a wonderful milk chocolate gorgeousness. But dare I say that the drydown starts to resemble Al rehab chocomusk, where the quality of the former is superior but the latter bears more sillage and the chocolate is darker.
Guerlains’ has moderate sillage and lasts long.

Really lovely and unique perfume, speaks its own language and does not remind me of another fragrance.
It indeed is full of cocoa and cocoa dusted truffle nuances.
The opening is my least favourite part, has a slight sour undertone to the cocoa and smells familiar in a childhood way to me. After 15 minutes though, the true magic begins. It feels as if I am smelling fragrant violet petals, dipped in chocolate ganache and dusted with bitter cocoa. A touch of spice is also there, and makes the smell even more deep and unique.
The drydown is soft and long lasting.
I sprayed 4 times this morning and never got huge sillage, which is very disappointing for me at this price point. Yes, it is a sensual fragrance etc etc but I wish I was given the option to not have to apply this much, given it i so expensive.
Apart from my last complain, I couldn’t possibly fault it, it is an artistic creation of impeccable quality and ,really, unless one tries it there’s no way to describe how good it feels wearing it❤️

The closest I’ve found as a description of what Charnel Gourmand Coquin smells like to me, are these chocolates that my DH has gifted m
