I loved this scent on paper more than on my skin. It’s sweet and yummy, but first couple hours smells like soap on me (just like the duchess rose) and I still like it and will use this summer, and the bottle is so very cute. However, if I didn’t find it at a big discount, I wouldn’t buy it.
Overall, the dry down is pretty and makes up for the cheap soapy smell in the top

Very lovely rose scent! It is very rosy but not sweet — the nutty, woody, and spicy notes dress it up. This is a rose for grownups who are neither “old ladies” nor girls. It opens as a spicy rose, and as it dries down it becomes more of a dryish, woody skin scent but still with rose undertones. I am really loving this! An early Mother’s Day gift which I will enjoy very much.

A very elegant rose scent. It is not the stunning kind of scent or girl if it is personified. Rather I’d say it is a graceful, elegant and wise lady whom you will be attracted to time by time. She is not flamboyant and remain a simple, healthy and lady-like lifestyle instead. An original and unique one among the large sum of rose scents I have smelled before.

rosy woody nutty somewhat fresh milk cream vibe. I like it.

Disappointed. There is no hint at all to the fabulous old version. Far too sweet, the rose note can’t evoke any distinguishing sensation. Shame on the name.

I have tried today this perfume and it was immediately love! I have bought it and now that I wear it for 4 hours already, i am glad i did. I have tried the iriginal version time ago and I didn’t lime it very much. It was a classic English rose to me, too old ladylike and simple. A rose I have smelled so many times before.
This one is different. It is a fresh but a bit spicy rise to my nose. In the first 10 mins the hazelnut is very distinguishable. A strange but apealing note to me. I love rose perfumes and I have planty of them, mostly niche ones, but I am very demabding ob chosung them, as I seek fir special, original rose scents. And this one is such to me. Progection and longevity are quite good after 4 hours. If you love rose fragrances, give it a try. I think it is highly worth it.

not a review obviously but… why did they use the exact same name that one of their discontinued classics had? the original ER is so different notes-wise and it is going to be a source of much confusion. it is that whole miss dior situation all over again.
does the house of penhaligon’s have no respect at all for their own classic – albeit a discontinued one? why are they doing this to their own heritage?
as a great admirer of the original ER i am greatly saddened by this…
even though the notes listed here sound interesting.
