Description
As a male equivalent to the edition for women, Lanvin Eclat d’Arpege from 2002, in February 2015 Lanvin Eclat d’Arpege Pour Homme arrives on the market, as a continuance of the history of the brand which started in 1927 with the first edition for women, Arpege. The new edition for men was announced as a modern one, with contemporary ingredients and masculine essence. Its composition is presented as classic and sophisticated, with a clear reference to the tradition and style of the house of Lanvin.
A blend of elegance and contrast is reflected in the mix of citruses, aromatic herbs, elegant floral notes, wood and musk. The composition opens with a luminous union of bergamot, lime and mandarin announcing violet leaves, rosemary and elegant jasmine in the heart. The base of the composition encompasses a sophisticated woodsy blend of cedar and sandalwood, along with molecule ambrofix and sensual musk. The fragrance is signed by perfumer Sonia Constant.
Lanvin Eclat d’Arpege Pour Homme arrives in a flacon with lavender-colored fluid, as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. The advertising face of the fragrance is model Bruno Rosendo.

First smelled this on my boyfriend the first time we met, and for the week following when we were inseparable. We were both on a tropical vacation, and live across the world from each other, so this scent has become a strong comfort for me, as scent memories do. When we parted ways, we traded our bottles of cologne/perfume to help remember our week in paradise together. He ended up with my bottle of Taylor Swift’s “Incredible Things” (I was slightly embarrassed by this because it’s a pop celeb scent, but I stand by my beach vacation choice of a perfume that smells like pineapple, anise and vanilla), and I took home his (almost empty) bottle of Lānvĭn “Éclat d’Arpège Pour Homme”.
As far as the scent of this one goes, it definitely has a summer vibe, a smell that is clean, crisp and like ocean air. I do pick up a little sea salt in this, even though it’s not listed in the notes. Maybe it’s just my memories of sitting on the beach, snuggled up with him that makes me think of a salt air element. Scent memories can be so strong like that. Anyway, I don’t find this at all feminine, as some others do. It’s very masculine, but in a refined way. It’s not harsh or “dirty” smelling. It’s a little sweet, crisp and soft, but in a quite masculine way. It stays close to the skin, which I particularly liked on him because it meant it was for me only. Unless you douse yourself with this, it’s not going to project too far for very long. Trust me, this element was really fantastic. I enjoyed the scent, which meant I had to be close to him to get that. The loud and blaring scents of the guys we passed walking around (in a touristy place) held no appeal to me compared to this… this was there, but from afar enough, it was a draw to make me want to be closer to him, which ended up being an advantage for both of us.
Anyway, I really love this scent so much that I just purchased a new bottle to replace my now empty bottle. I use it solely for helping me sleep better at night, since I’m now in a long distance relationship with him. It’s really helped tremendously (those scent memories)! Although it’s sentimental for me, as a woman, I can definitely attest to this scent being really good on a man. Love it!

Sampled this at Duty Free and one frag comes to mind. Kenneth Cole Reaction. Of course not 100% dupe but similar enough to make me think of it on first sniff.
The only difference with Reaction is this is more floral and there’s less green apple note but the base and muskiness are there.
Glad I didn’t blind bought this.

This gentle lovely floral scent puts me in a good mood. Too feminine, that’s true but i like it anyway.
Similar atmosphere to Carolina Herrera CH men, or CH man chic.

I thought I made a comment on this one when I got in 2015, but I guess I missed it.
I wore last year and today it the first time a I tried it again for this summer.
I have totally forgotten how it smelled, but now I think it did a better impression in my memory.
Is not a bad cologne at all, very fresh and sort of sweet but Summery, I like the fact that it has citruses on the opening notes but it does not feel too citrusy like Lanvin L’homme, I like both but this one is kinda easier to wear.
Diffassedyday – :
A pleasant citrus aromatic EDT, but nothing to write home about. That doesn’t make it bad, it just makes it a very comfortable fragrance. The prominent citrus and violet leaf in the open reminds me of Eau de Cartier, but with better longevity. The violet leaf is the star here, it sustains from the open right through drydown, but doesn’t get too metallic.
I get good longevity of around 5 hours with moderate sillage. A very nice fragrance for everyday wear.
Firoodin – :
This was a blind purchase. I read reviews that this fragrance was a little too feminine for those men with fragile masculinity. Anyway, it smells really good. It has that clean, sweet, reliable scent that you can wear anywhere, any time of the day. If I had one complaint about this, it would be that it has poor sillage but the longevity is amazing. I spray my perfumes on my clothes and when I am doing my laundry, I can still smell this on my clothes. Give it a try!
Scent: 10/10
Longevity: 10/10 (tip: spray on clothes)
Sillage: 6/10

Nothing special.
“Nice”it’s the best way to describe it.
It’s best for spring ,Not for summer unless you live in Sweden or similar places ,where it’s not so hot in the summer time.

Same realm as ysl l’homme libre. Not the same smell but has the same vibe. Maybe because of violet leaf note.

is this really feminine smelling? i am about to give it to a male friend who loves cK’s eternity for men.

I was on Malaysia when I had a sample of this fragrance. I fell in love with it. I like wearing it when I’m going out on an errands specially when it’s raining. I love the androgynous vibe it gives me. 😉
Envishess – :
Sophisticated, elegant, fresh, salty and sweet. To me a modern smell for a classy guy between 20-45 but girls can pull this one of to. It’s elegant flowers, mostly violets, a bit fruity built up by the clean musk with a salty kaviar/sea note. Not for everyone but if you have an open mind you might love or like it. Lasts + 8 hours on me.
la luna – :
First off, it is a mellow, smooth and very pleasing fragrance. The citrus is tamed, which is nice. Unlike some other fragrances where they try to stuff a lime up your nostrils for good measure. Haha!! But I do enjoy this one a lot.
However, there is a big problem: longevity. Even with 10 sprays, it is completely gone after 30 minutes or so. Seriously!! There is some serious “performance” issues going on, c’mon! I would spread about 3-4 sprays up my arms and wrists and I would get nothing by the 1-hour mark. My shampoo/shower gel lasts longer than that!
Anyway, it is a good scent but the performance is just dreadful to say the least; maybe it is me because the fragrance goes anosmic to my senses fairly quickly.
AZhumashev – :
Certainly a hidden gem in a world of soo many unforgettable new smells. Nice flacon and great smell. Another winner from Lanvin. Also, it’s good value for money. On my skin, however, I wish it performed a little better.
I also like this as an occaisional office scent. It’s not boring, and it’s also just intresting enough without causing too much attention.

This was a surprise for me. I liked the women’s version and had been gifting it to women in my life. If there’s a dumb reach for gifting, women’s category it’s the Eclat d’Arpege for women. I’ve also sneaked a few spritz, maybe worn it myself a few times.
With that preface, I’ve been hoping they’d release a pour homme. I know the vintage/original Pour Homme is highly rated, reviewed and coveted, it’s just I don’t have means of getting it. This juice hasn’t received much attention, negative or positive. There are just one or two reviews on youtube and the number of reviews here is also meager. Maybe they released this just for me?
This is salty without being marine. The citrus has that tartness and sourness that isn’t distracting. Take the Pour Femme’s base, add some woods then add a dash of sharp citrus and voila, Eclat D’Arpege Pour Homme.
The combination of violet leaf, musk and citrus creates that briny accord. This has a sense of comfort and sensuality. Think of a guy with the sweetest smelling sweat. Nothing pungent or rank. It’s a clean sweat that has dried for just a few minutes. Bordering on feminine for some, this comes off as a muted metrosexual if ever there is one.
I like it! There!

This is the perfume that brings me into perfume’s world!
I tested it at sephora and brought it at duty free (I think sephora’s goods at my country are too pricey.)
This one captured my heart by its refreshing vibe. I got the mixture of citrus, aquatic, sweet and salty. The scent somewhat remind me of sea salt though it doesn’t appear in the notes list, it perfectly fit the ad pics, right? Also, I don’t care about the bottle design. I’m not plan to carry it and show to everyone anyway. Just enjoy the scent already! lol
The only thing that bother me is its sillage that too soft for my taste. so… I over-spray it every time! MUHHAHA
Ps. I mentally in High by the Beach – Lana Del Rey’s MV when I wear this one.

All the sophisticated citrus / aquatic haters will be quick to dismiss this one as ‘just the next fresh run-of-the-mill summer scent’, but I’ve come to find that you have to buy what you yourself enjoy smelling rather than relying on some ‘experts’ noses.
Lanvin Eclat D’Arpege pour Homme was a surprise hit for me. It lasts longer than most summery scents, has very decent projection and a very modern violet / mandarin blend with neither standing out too much (maybe just a little more citrus-y than violet-y). A hint of cedar freshness gives it the ‘pour homme’ monicker, but it could easily be a unisex scent as well.
If you’re a brute whose idea about perfumes is ‘sweet and loud till them panties drop’, that’s obviously not for you. This is a modern urban scent (girls will still love it) and if you feel comfortable in that role — and are not against this EdT’s slightly feminine delicacy — it would make for a great addition to your summer wardrobe.
8/10

My wife has never been into sweet women perfumes. Last night we had opinions between Rocco Barroco, Loewe and Lanvin. And we decided Lanvin to brought at home. This is very nice scent, fresh yet romantic for couple. In my opinion it smells like fresh guava on my wife’ skin and lil bit woody on mine.
I hate the first spray but i don’t mind to wait 5 minutes only until this juice release its best scent her skin …. and then …. yeah …. something “nasty” happens in our bed. 🙂
Updated review:
This is totally unisex imho, which brings other meanings of fresh. It’s …. “deep” fresh … perfectly mixing between soft and fresh, flowers and fruits, sharp and subtle.
I don’t know to describe it. It’s psychedelic non-gourmand scent. Another masterpiece of Lanvin. A real shy standout.
masx1 – :
It reminds me.. Chanel Chance Eau Tendre 🙂
Nice but too feminine for me
yurnik271 – :
Very sofisticated scent.
A little bit feminine and sensual.
Really love this one.
Sinna7 – :
This perfume is so fresh & fruity. It is so friendly and is suitable for whenever you want to visit your close friends.
Good for men to have this perfume although i also have it:)
alien_pioner – :
It is indeed similar to original feminine version, but little less flowery and harsh-woody instead. It is quite simple, yet cheerful. Not very grown-up in my opinion, but smart-casual. A lot of musk and violet leaves. The drydown also reminds me of Burberry Touch.
Nothing groundbreaking but longevity and sillage are excellent.
Fupelinee – :
in this picture you can not see the beauty of the bottle its look strange but i must say that first ofall i was impressed by the amazing bottle

My 3 full bottles of disappeared old Arpege are the only reason I still love this name… Everything that comes after this masterpiece, including this name, can t be loved. No exception for this new and totally uninteresting one. Oh, I forgot…what a uninspired bottle! Some ppl laughed about the Arpege PH bottle, but believe me, that one, simple as it is , is a piece of art (deco), such a beautiful one.
Schulc – :
Haters gonna hate, but others must try this. Pleasant different citrus with nice woody drydown. Nothing like other generic synthetic citrus fragrances. Longevity on paper is really good.
jenbond – :
Lanvin stopped producing “Arpege Pour Homme” to create this One?! Seriously, duh!?!… OMG. Yeah, the list of notes already causing me sleepless nights. Groundbreaking citruses top, unpredictable heart with terrific base notes. “Eclat d’Folie Pour Homme”! ;-/
NarTVipeR – :
Sorry guys for too much complaining, but its just my impression. 😉 Discontinued vintage -Arpege pour Homme- without even trying to create any limited or special editions of it during all period of time (Not mentioned Marry Me or Jeanne banal editions). And now we have this aromatic -Éclat-?! Another boring pop-aromatic? Ok, we’ll see… I just wonder… How can you surprise anyone these days with citruses cocktail, violet leaf with rosemary and woody/ musk? Bottle is so ,So “inspiring and unique”,,, Interesting, how much time it took for them to create this “piece of art”?
