Description

Eaux de Caron Fraiche is recommended for a daytime use. It was launched in 1997 as a citrus fragrance. Lemon, fresh and bitter grapefruit, mandarin, sweet and fresh bergamot, artemis and balmy galbanum refreshes the top notes. The heart is made of narcotic rose, flowery sweet and clear jasmine spiced up with nutmeg and patchouli. Settled in the base are oakmoss and sensuous musk. The bottle was designed to feature miniature raindrops that reminds of the summer rain’s freshness and cleanness. This relaxing scent of summer belongs to a collection of three beautiful fragrances Eaux de Caron.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the other two Eaux de Caron (Forte and Pure). They are two of my all time favorite scents.
Surprisingly then, this one, Eaux de Caron Fraîche, is DISGUSTING!! It burns my throat, smells like sawdust and the turpentine I use to clean my paintbrushe. I absolutely hate it. I’d rather sniff bug spray. Really disappointed because the House of Caron is otherwise absolutely fantastic. If you smelled this Caron first, don’t judge the others by it. This one is an anomaly–the rest are flippin’ amazing.

Fresh and spicy, with a big, bright citrus opening: yellow grapefruit and a bright yellow lemon, tart, fresh, and clean. The thyme is key, it gives a leathery note that is very fresh and not at all animalic, but herbal. The orange brings a sweet note to balance the lemon, grapefruit and bergamot.
The heart is pure Caron, their classic nutmeg, jasmine and rose, a very substantive heart, and long lasting on me, spicy, sweet, deep, very oriental. The Caron nutmeg has a vanilla nuance, and blends seamlessly into the woody, mossy drydown. It has good longevity on me. I wear it in Summer, great day or night, works well and really blooms in humidity.

CARON name is pronounced kah RON…emphasis on the last syllable.
This frag is wonderful, but unfortunately it is very weak and doesn’t last on skin more that an hour. Great one if you like to keep spraying during the day. It’s refreshing, bright softly sweet citrus. Very feminine.

Forget about the gender, I think this is unisex and I LOVE IT.
It’s a fun, energizing, happy day fragrance. It will lift you up throughout the day.
    I love CARON!

I’m coming to the end of my bottle of EdCF and am going to get another one. It’s a lovely fresh, all-rounder. I don’t adore it to bits like I do Eau de Rochas, but it’s a happy-making scent. It’s for casual weekends, or those times when you can’t decide which fragrance to use. This is sacrilege, I know: I have even used it as a room spray!

    Oh my this is good..
Another successful ‘blind’ buy from Caron for me. I adore their Eau de Reglisse and this works in a similar vein. Both fragrances lead with sharp citrus and soften to a very warm base. While Eau de Reglisse softens to ginger vanilla, this softens to a slightly floral, slightly patchouli base. Very nice indeed. Big sparkly cologne to gentle lingering softness.. In terms of comparison it’s not as curious and eccentric as it’s gingery sibling but I’d definitely recommend it to citrus lovers.
This very pretty bottle arrived in the post this morning, a morning with a wobbly hangover. The first sharp citrus hit cut amazingly through my headache and quesy belly and did a much better job of brining me round than paracetamol. With this in mind I imagine it will be an emergency lift on hot muggy days. The sweet smell of medicinal beauty!
Afterthought: Yes, this is like Eau D’Hadrian but it’s half the price and twice as good.

Nice and refreshing citrusy smell. Perfect for hot Summer days. Lemon is not so sharp and the dry down is a bit spiced. It reminds me of Annick Goutal’s Eau de Hadrien.
Unfortunately, it does not last more than an hour, but this happens with the majority of Summer citrusy smells and it is more fare to buy such an inexpensive product than pay a lot of money for a product that has the same strength and longevity.

In general, I don´t like citrus scents. The only one that I could wear until knowing “eau de caron fraiche” was Cristalle.
This scent is not sharp and strong as Cristalle. It´s a light lemon scent, perfect for very hot days. After some minutes, it turns into a very spicy-musky scent, but always very light.
The smell is delicious, light, very elegant.
The problem is the lasting power. After 30 min. is gone. A really pity! the smell so lovely . . .
I don´t know if I´m gonna repurchase it.

Sherbet Lemons – and – more Sherbet Lemons! Now I have to buy some sweeties … !!!
I am so glad I sprayed this on a warm sunny day, as that is the perfect weather to wear this in. The sun seems to bring out the wonderful crisp, fresh fragrance of lemon (Amalfi lemon) and more lemon! Initially, all I can smell is lemon – refreshing and uplifting! Then it tends down a bit to a softer scent of lemon (but no less Lemon Sherbet sweety). Somewhere in my mind it says freshly mown grass – but I think this is more of an association of drinking my neighbours home-made lemon drink when in the garden!!!! Also reminds me of Italy for no other reason than the lemons!
Strongly reminds me of Cristalle or O d’Lancome with the citric notes. Which were, previously, my hot summer day scents!
This is perfect for a humid, hazy, hot summer day! Fantastic for a warm european holiday. Good day perfume but I think on hols this would work well into the night! No need to dress feminine with this one either – would suit relaxed daytime, crisp, linen-like daytime and relaxed bistro-style evenings!
Silage is mild and this last quite well on my skin! Worth buying if you want a crisp, lemon fragrance!

rithacha, you have written a perfect description of Eaux de Caron Fraiche. I agree – it is very sharp to begin with, but it does mellow, while retaining the distinct lemon rind note. It lasts well on me for an ‘eau’. I put it on the hair at the nape of my neck, as well as on my body, and just stick my nose under my T-shirt collar from time to time to remind me of the fragrance – yes it’s there! I wear it when I go sailing (because, after all, you are not dressed if you don’t wear a fragrance), but it is in no way overpowering in that setting.

Weegee, my samples fairy, you deserve a shrine. Thank you!
Eaux de Caron Fraiche is as straight-up lemon as you get in perfume. Sharp green citrus and thyme. I find it a wee bit sweet at first, but EdCF isn’t sugary like lemonade. Rather, it’s the lemon peel after you zest it; sour juicy, bitter rind, Vitamin C. The middle notes listed promise a smooth nutty heart, but do not be fooled; the citrus becomes a *little* bit softer and muskier, but forever sharp and acidic. I find it interesting how a perfume with such unnoticable middle and base notes can last as long as EdCF does, but it is a citrus that lasts and lasts.
EdCF is considerably more sour and acidic than the other lemons I’ve smelled and much more mono-note. A uni-sex fragrance that could be just the thing on a hot hazy day.

it is not a fragrance actually, it’s more like cologne. it lasts only 10 minutes, maybe less. i can define it as a refreshing spray.

I would like to write down about this fragrance because it’s not very popular.
Today, after three months I opened the bottle and smelled it.
The bottle is really beautiful and refreshing. I love it.
This frangrance at the first moment smells to lemmon, very very citrus. After 10 or 15 minutes smells like a country. It smells to thyme very much. The sensation is like you were in the country.
I think is very casual and very nice for summer. Very clean. Very natural.
I like it very much. It’s different from other fragrances.
I semelled it over a paper, but I like it very much over my skin.
I think is very sweet and antidepressive.
I can imagine with this fragrance in the middle of the country.
