Description

Eau Sensuelle was presented in 2009, as a successor of Eau de Rochas. It is composed of citrusy zests of red orange, bergamot and mango, along with a floral wave of Indian Sambac jasmine and powdery orris root. A romantic, spicy trail introduces accords of dried fruit, pink pepper and sensual, white musk. The fragrance is available as 50 and 100 ml (1.7 and 3.4 oz) EDT. Perfumer of this edition is Jean-Michel Duriez.

If this is “sensuelle” then cleaning the bathroom would probably be an orgasmic experience.

Love this and it’s straight to one of my favorites! I love the way the orange blossom here is really pleasant and bearable since sometimes orange blossom can just be way too sweet or cloying for me. The citrus makes it a little bitter, and something is making a slightly soapy smell here. Decent sillage and longevity. A very nice scent in hot and dry climates. Very affordable online for now, so if you like fresh floral scents, check it out!

I got it online really-really, I mean REALLY cheap, and I was very much anticipating its arrival..As a great fan of Rochas I just needed it for my collection, so to speak. But I must say it is a bit of a disappointment: first of all, it`s not at all in any way sensual! It has a lingering citrus and orris vibe to it with a dash of orange flower here and there, but this won`t make any fragrance sensual..Okay, if we put this fact aside and I keep on sniffing my wrist what else is there? Grapefruit, a bit of jasmine..It kind of reminds me of Les Cascades des Rochas Eclat Agrumes, except this one is more toned down and a bit sweeter, it also reminds me of one an edt I tried at an airport in Spain recently (Tous). Maybe I should spray on more. After half an hour of wearing it the citrus is still there, the orris got stronger, the scent is altogether a tad bit sweeter but it is still not sensual..Pleasant, refreshing, clean, citrusy, a bit fruity but not too sweet. No dried fruits detected, there is a bit of mango and a bit of musk coming in the drydown. The boyfriend tells me it smells like a room spray, but a good one..BANG! Now you all know. It will definitely not make it into my perfume hall of fame, especially that half an hour later he simply tells me he doesn`t like it. Flop. On the positive note though it reminds of the time I was in south France with a friend, maybe because Les Cascades de Rochas Eclat Agrumes and Songe d`Iris was just out and I bought my first bottle there, or maybe I tried this one too, cannot remember. It is pleasant though, but nothing spectacular. It was still well worth the money i paid for it and will gladly use it up for warmer, non-sensual occasions, like the next holiday to France with my friend..
EDIT: I was wearing it a good few times this summer on the unusual hot weather and I got LOADS of compliments, so it definitely matches my skin in hot weather. It kind of grew on me too, I`m getting a bigger bottle for next summer!

Boo hoo! How can it be that my olfactary sense is completely devoid of receptors that can recognise this? I smell almost nothing. A sweet ghost of a hint of dreamy citrus, and then pouff it’s gone.
I feel sad. A fragrance from the house of Rochas, to which I am totally INSENSITIVE (either that, or I have a dud bottle, or it was never there in the first place). Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo.
I am the more puzzled because I have another citrus fragrance by Jean-Michel Duriez, Eclats des Agrumes, which comes across to me with clarity. Maybe my bottle of Eau Sensuelle came from a factory line which had a blip? I used to work in a factory production line so I know these blips happen and result in dodgy products.
Oh well. Eau Sensuelle de Rochas, I wanted to love you, but fate intervened in the form of DNA or some industrial inefficiency. So I cannot. Adieu!

    Mmmmmmmmm…
    The bottle is lovely.
The fragrance is nice enough, but there is a note in it that is a little harsh and remains so on me. This may be the bitter orange or the pepper but I am uncertain.
Maybe a little more musk in the base, and a little less of the pepper or jasmine and this might work for me.
I find it has a very good longevity.

I tried this one for the first time and was immediately pleased with the scent, but not hooked.
It opens with a burst of fruit in the new tradition of fruity scents, very modern, not offensive though.
It’s a happy opening that lingers for a while. In the meantime flowers set in and they work very nicely on the whole blend. I smell generic white flowers, so this is neroli and jasmine? Good to know. Orris root gives some depth.
Then the last notes gives a good and lasting base, together with the flowers. A typical musky note mingled with fruits.
It’s very longlasting on my skin.
While I think I could easily wear this one and go into the crowds, I cannot help being a little sad about these novelties from such a glorious house.
Eau Sensuelle enters the hall of modern-fruity-floral-something with both feet.
Very balanced, very polished, perfect for crowd-pleasing, too perfectly generic, not even cheap-smelling for good measure, but it’s sooo common lieu.
It’s a perfect girly scent for girls that don’t want to buy drugstore. It’s much above that, still it smells like thousands around: not too daring, not too serious, not too flat.
    A nice manufacturing work.

Well, this is a beautiful bottle! Such a pretty cap and shimmery cut glass bottle. But I need more than that!! longevity is very poor – less than an hour on me and other friends that have tried it. More of a Calgon body spray, that aren’t meant to last. And that would explain the low price for 220ml, or even the reason they are selling a 220ml bottle. They know you will be using it 3x as much as a scent with good longevity. The scent is okay -my mother says it smells like old-fashioned Florida Water- but nothing I would get again. My fav Rochas is “Tocade” – that beautiful rose vanilla really packs a punch. I’ll stick with that one!

I’d love to love this because of the notes, but I can’t smell anything much. There’s a sharp alcoholic starting note, maybe with a bit of citrus, and then it goes all… bland. Perhaps the tester had been standing in the shop for an eternity? Such a shy scent is all I can say. What a pity.

This was a blind buy based on the reviews here and I dont regret it. I dreamed about this perfume at night about being quite beautiful, unique, suave and sensuous smell and it really is.Like nothing I’ve owned so far.
Its a beautiful, feminine, non-offensive perfume.I smell white flowers mainly, you know fresh cut in a misty morning (maybe lilies and hyacinth, a very very light jasmine and and some citrusey blossom) that go on and on the same, I dunno for how long. I’ve had it on for 2 hours now and it hasnt change.
So beautiful, light, feminine and sensuous are the words of the day.Its like a song that soothes, delights and excites you at the same time!

This could’ve been a new signature, I really think its the perfect mix of innocent and sexy, flowers, fizzy fruit and spiciness, but the staying power is so weak, on me its like an hour and then I feel nothing, except if I smell my skin. wish they made a EDP. Wish they made this with the staying power of “la vie est belle”.

Let me first put in that the aesthetics of this bottle is beyond gorgeous. I get this kind of “french flat” feeling, like in the “Amelie” movie, when she is putting on the colonge and drops the stopper? Yes?
But back to the fragrance it self. When I bought this, I was weighing between this one or “Dolce Gabbana L’imperatrice” (I decided later I needed them both though, lol) as a summer fragrance. This one made it because of it’s freshness. It’s not sweet. It’s citrus-y. But it’s not tart. It’s fruity. But again, not sweet. I get the jasmine. I get the mango. It’s like a fresh-spicy-fruity floral. But not sweet. I can not repeat myself enough. Pink pepper-bergamot-citrusy. But not cloying or sweet. Not sweet.
The longevity of this is suprisingly good as well, for beeing a citrus. Sprayed it on me last night and could still find it there when I woke up.

Just got another bottle of this, 220ml on Amazon. I missed it so much! It doesn´t have a spray, though, but its beautiful. Nothing quite compares and I keep telling people “Smell me!” Only those I know well, though, haha.

This is the freshest most uplifting perfume I have ever smelled! But mind you, also sensual to a certain degree. A good mix I would say. A very joyful and happy scent indeed and has honest to god anti-depressant qualities to it. Has decent sillage and lasts ages on the skin also, which is always a plus! Pure perfection 🙂

This is sooo nice, I remember wearing it, and walking in the wind, and that perfect light fluffy smell would be around me, lovely!!
It is warm and juicy at the same time, it has a certain fizziness yet isn’t overdone in the citrus department..it is modern yet timeless…romantic and outdoorsy..nice nice creation!!

Been wanting this a while, only from sniffing /wearing it once… though.
It is starting off with a lot of Blood orange on me, the mango comes later.
I am surprized not to find anis or liquorice here, its the same feeling when wearing Armani code luna. I realize now its the blood orange
and in luna bitter orange creating anise to my nose,
strange but at the same time lovely…
Had a hard time detecting the jasmine but the orange flower tuned in very well and red pepper as all pepper, is to me lovely and just adds the right amount of sting to every formula its in.
The orris and musk makes it powdéry enough, without overdoing it.
This to me resembles Armani Code Luna very much, but it has a higher kind of warmth, where luna is colder, but has
a more exclusive base, if asking me,…
Overall a nice, warm and a little different scent.
If you prefer Luna or Eau sensuelle, is for you to say !
    8/10 smell
    6/10 sillage
    8/ 10 longevity
This is something inbetween love and like for me.
    Wearable both day / evening

You know, sometimes when you find a diamond, you have doubts, is it true? Has it been love at first sight? Specially when you are used to being deceipt.
I smelt this a few months ago,as a lover of the traditional Eau de Rochas I was reluctant at first to accept there was something as good in the same brand, but a few weeks ago I smelt it in some big stores in Bilbao on a middle aged woman. I could have followed her for milles. God her smell was gorgeous, so elegant!
And finally I was conviced. An only brand can have two diamonds at the same time. Lovely and seductive, how much I love it! Keep your faith!

    L O V E I T !!!
In my opinion, the opening is very much like “Forever and Ever Dior”. Aromatic & romantic fragrance.

Me parece un perfume muy cálido y sensual. Creo que funciona mejor en primavera y otoño. Su durabilidad en la piel es buena.

This is a bit like fruit water. Fruity, sweet, not very strong but not too weak either. I just couldn’t find anything special in it.

What a failure again from the gorgeous house of Rochas!
This release falls under the same miserable destiny as with Rochas Soleil.
Both these “recent” releases from the house didn’t get ANY attention. A very minimal marketing promotion and minimal distribution. I haven’t seen it in any store!
Why the hell they release anything if they don’t even try make it noticed at all?
It’s obvious that these Rochas fragrances won’t sell so they will be discontinued after 2-3 years of their release if people are not even aware of them (no marketing, no distrubtion). This stupid managing of a once great house – and discontinuing 80% of its fragrance portfolio!!! – just makes me MAD!

Yay! I got it! This fragrance has some pizzaz. Theres a certain soapiness to it, like The Body Shop soap bars in Satsuma. The very first spritz has an earthy edge which I suppose is the orris root. Then theres orange with a smidge of bitterness. Theres something sweet about it, but I wouldnt really put it down to the jasmine and I don´t really smell mango either. Maybe its artificial mango, I don´t know. Ive never smelled pink pepper all on its own, so I don´t know if I smell it or not, but there is a certain spiciness. Ok, if you take a continuous sniff, it gives your brain enough time to detect the jasmine, but this isn´t an obviously flowery perfume. If you don´t wait for it, it just smells like a cheerful citrus, reminiscent of orange sorbet.
All in all, me like-e very mucho!

i was given a sample of it in Paris last summer..im pretty sure its been available in big department stores for a while now too..
it’s a really nice, sensual ‘quality’ perfume id say, but not a classic..it has a very nice fresh opening with a little zest to it, and you can really test mango. delicious!..it gets a bit drier and deeper as time passes by, and orris root comes out significantly..im a big fan of pink pepper in perfumes, so this was a pleasant surprise to me. pink pepper and dried fruits make it smell even more delicious.
i think that those who like dior cherie/ coco madmoiselle/ jean by lanvin and so on will enjoy this juice. its delicious, playful and fresh. however, if you like slightly deeper and darker scents you may be left a little dissapointed..
