To me “fresh” means green, hard, raw, sharp, fibrous, woody, but this fig is too ripe. Pulpy and sugary. A fig bees would be interested in. I could easily see this scent becoming cloying in warm weather.
This is a good scent for someone in their late teens, early twenties I think. I want something a little closer to Philosykos Diptyque from my fig perfumes now.

my mum owns this fragrance, but i’ve been borrowing this quite frequently as i’m a sucker for gourmands and it’s almost become my new “autumn” scent. To me, this does smell sweet, but not like the usual berries and cupcakes fun bubbly way that most sweet perfumes tend to smell. It is more of a mature sophisticated gourmand scent – very musky vanilla paired with creamy fig with slight floral undertones. This definitely feels like a good perfume to wear to a job interview – a good scent to wear if you love sweet scents like me but just want to feel a bit more grown up lol. It also has a good amount of silage, and i love the sleek and simple design, making it perfect to pop into my bag. My mum actually bought this in a charity shop, but the actual retail princes are quite steep for this for only 50mil. Stil, overall 8/10

    Not what I expected.
It opens with a green fig and some fruity and floral notes. Ylang ylang was prominent, but so was cassia and something that could be freesia. I also got sharp citrus and fruit and a breath of vanilla.
As it settled the most interesting note happened for a minute. It was halfway between fish and new electronics (metalic ozone).
And now I don’t even know what I’m smelling any more. This is more complex than I typically like, but it’s keeping it interesting.

I bought this fragrance because of my obsession with the highly-polarized Womanity by Thierry Mugler. After seeing “this reminds me of…” on Taste of Womanity, I purchased a cheap .5oz bottle off of eBay to see if there was a resemblance.
Eau Gourmande Fresh Fig smells identical to Womanity when you sniff the sprayer. However, that is where the resemblance ends. Eau Gourmande Fresh Fig opens with creamy, vanillic peaches and a candied variation of fig fruit. It doesn’t resemble the real fruit at all but the candied interpretations of fig in perfumery. The peaches and fig bow out to a slightly burnt and caramelized crème brulee note with a very fresh “air” accord. You know how Womanity mimics oceanic air? Well, instead of a brine-y, metallic tang, Eau Gourmande Fresh Fig has a fresh, breeze that is not oceanic, synthetic or offensive. It’s like a late morning breeze in Spring – fresh, young, and comforting.
In short – after the creamy, candy opening, Fresh Fig smells like caramelized crème brulee and a fresh, cool spring breeze. A must try for the gourdmand lovers!

I blind bought a bottle of this fragrance and instantly regretted it. Although I generally love fig fragrances and own many, this scent does not appeal to me. I get absolutely nothing green nor fresh. Will find it a new owner!

I frequent the Laura Mercier counters at least a few times a year because it’s my primary source where i buy most of my makeup products for the last few years. Each time i end up walking away with a perfume or body souffle purchase along with my needed cosmetics.
When i first sprayed Fresh Fig, it was an instant love. Immediately i am reminded of Womanity without the metallic quality but yet there is the sweet fig with a slight green. Because of this initial experience i instantly wrapped up my purchase to hit the road before ending up in rush-hour traffic. While i was in the car all i could smell was current. It was stricktly sweetness with strong black current. I didn’t look up the notes on Fragrantica first so it was no wonder to see the cassis leaf in the notes when i finally did.
I tried again the next day after a shower and the same results: Sweet fig with a touch of green for the first 2 minutes, precisely. For the next 8 hours it was still sweet but i had a big cloud of strong cassis. If you are a fan of the dark berries plus sweet plus green, this is one for you to try. The fig hides underneath in the far distance after the first 2 minutes when it was up front and in your face briefly in the very beginning.
In my opinion, it should be properly named eau gourmande Wild Cassis and Sweet Fig.

While I am a perfume junkie, my husband is pretty much a neophyte, not quite sure about what he really thinks about my specific type of addiction. Well, he surprised me today, coming home from a business trip with a perfume gift — the first he ever gave me. You guessed it, it is Fresh Fig by Laura Mercier.
After testing it, it is certainly not my kind of perfume, but I understand why he thought it would be great on and for me: It starts out fresh, with a fig and other fruits top notes. I do not like sweet perfumes and there is not much sweetness in those first notes. However, within 5 minutes, it becomes definitely sweet vanilla like, with a dash of musk and coconut. And the dry down is this somewhat nondescript sweetish scent. There is also a somewhat chemical vibe that makes my sinuses itch just so slightly. It certainly does not work on my skin and does not agree with my olfactory preferences.
That said, I am so happy that my better half took the time to shop for me, and try to find something that he thought I may like. That is completely priceless and wonderful. You are on the right path, my love 🙂

Of all the fig fragrances I’ve tried, this is the most uplifting, fruity fig ever …. a delight ! When weather is bad, I wear this together with the citrus scent and the blues go away. This is a delightful happy fig – not bitter, not milky, not metallic green, a true delight ! Thank you Laura Mercier.

I’m afraid to wear this fragrance in public because I’m not sure what it will smell like to the layman’s nose. It’s a lot like Thierry Mugler’s Womanity and I could even smell fish in this fragrance at one point but having read the other reviews, I’m reassured that there is no fish in this fragrance. Smelling it again, I’m certain that what I was smelling is actually an unusual, greenish note of some kind – possibly the cassia? Oh well, I’m wearing it now and slowly falling in love with it. It takes getting used to.

Laura Mercier Fresh Fig opens just like a freshly cut fig: a perfect balance between green and fruity sweetness. However, after about 30 minutes, Fresh Fig soon evolves into a Spicy Fig, reminescent of Thierry Mugler Womanity the Taste of Fragrance and Liqueur de Parfum. Looking at the notes listed, I’m not sure where this spiciness and saltiness come from, but they’re there. Towards the drydown, a sweet note of dried fruits becomes more prominent. But the whole scent remains an harmonious concoction of spiciness, fruitiness and saltiness.
The sillage is moderate to close and the longevity is at least 8 hours. I’d recommend it to those who enjoyed those Womanity versions but found the sillage too obstrusive.

For a fig fragrance, this is quite sweet and gourmand. It’s the least woody and least green rendition of fig I’ve seen in a perfume. I smell the fig, citruses, vanilla and musk in this composition. The mixture of the creamy, sweet fig and citrus gives it a rather beachy vibe to my nose. If I was guessing without looking at the notes, I would have suspected a bit of coconut in this. There is something a hint chemical about it, though not to the extent that I dislike it. Fresh Fig is not the most natural representation of fig in a fragrance, but I do like it more than I expected. For a greener, fresher fig I’d be more inclined to go to Pacifica Mediterranean Fig. For a sweet fig fix I’d probably stick to my bottle of Womanity.

Thanks to a lovely fragrantica member I was finally able to get my hands on this amazing fig fragrance. <3
This is practically the only fig I have come across that is on the frutier side of the spectrum. Most figs tend to be quite green and woody. I was so happy when I discovered this because I love fig and really wanted one that had a lot of fruit.
Fresh Fig is based around the fruit which is what I love about it. The fig is less aromatic and is sweeter than the natural fruit. I feel like I am picking up on a couple of fruits too. I swear I can smell a tiny bit of sweet red apples and apricot which blend in with the fig and make it delicious! There is also a creaminess to this fragrance a mixture of vanilla and sandalwood. Musk and ylang ylang are also present even though they are extremely subtle and keep this fragrance quite fresh.
Fresh Fig is surprisingly complex and beautiful. This definitely is one of my favorite figs. If you area fig lover give tis one a try its quite yummy. <3

I love this fig fragrance. It is not cloying. The fig has an amazingly fresh quality. Of all of the fig fragrances that I own, this is by far my favorite.

Fruity, woody and full of essence of fig! This is very warm and it was a blind buy, based on the other two Merciers that I have – shame that it just does not suit me at all. I have sprayed it twice and will swap or sell if anyone wants it.

I love fig fragrances and was lured here because of that. Bad turn. Scent of Cheap Hairspray is what it became on my skin. A fig nightmare to me. Sorry. Though I love Laura Mercier cosmetics, I haven’t found a single perfume that works for me. It may be my chemistry just isn’t suitable for her scents.

I must admit that I have no idea what fresh figs smell like – but if they’re anything like this then I know I’d love them. This is my current favourite scent – warm and rich but not at all heavy. The only problem I find is that I have to reapply it a few times before it will have any longevity on my skin. I put it on in the morning then again a couple of times before it seems to really cling but after that it lasts for a long time and smells gorgeous for hours. It is also really lovely mixed with a very small amount of Ambre Vanille from the same range. I found this by accident when I topped up the wrong sample vial with Fresh Fig but now I really like it and would buy both just to mix. I wouldn’t wear the Ambre Vanille on its own though – but the Fresh Fig is wonderful both ways. Delish.
I love this more and more – and it’s so versatile. I still think it’s gorgeous on its own but the thing I like about it so much is how fab it is when layered with other scents. As well as the Ambre Vanille it is also really good over Jessica Simpson’s Fancy, and my absolute favourite is the mix of this over Ellen Tracy by Ellen Tracy. So many ways to wear this – I want to always have a bottle of it on the go.

I tested this yesterday, having Eau de Lune and the Eau Gourmande Tarte Au Citron. They are both lovely. I like Womanity, and wanted to further explore the fig note in other perfumes. This started out as a fresh fig, lovely and ripe. I have been able to smell the real thing occasionally and love their fragrance. Unfortunately, this did not dry down well on me, which is not to say this would happen on someone else. I have a problem with this type of fragrance (berries, “jam” like fragrances), Nina by Nina Ricci sadly did the same with me. I would try before you buy; which is wise for all fragrances, but not always possible.

Fresh Fig is the most true fig fragrance that I have tried. It is not overly sweet at all. Although most fragrances that fall into the gourmand catagory are laden with sugar, this one is not. It is as the name of the perfume suggests-it is fresh fig.

I never really liked gourmand fragrances because although I like to smell good, I do not want to smell good enough to eat. Boy, did this fragrance change my mind. To say the least, whenever I wear this, my nose is glued obsessively to my wrist.
