definitely a woody vanilla, would say it was cedar, very dry, slightly aromatic. pepper also noticeable.
this is not a warm or foody or sweet take on vanilla.

I think you need to look at the edt, to get some of the unlisted notes here.
I believe this also has cardomom, juniper and safron as the original edt.
The cardomom is more noticable in the edt. Here in the EDP, the boozy bourbon vanilla is most noticable.
I have tried about 15 Diptyque frags, and have many of them. This in edt concentration is one of the very softest in projection of all the Diptyque frags; so I recommend the EDP, for it’s slightly better performance.
The edt is crisper and lighter, but the EDP is not heavy, just more cozy.
I thought this was one of the my least favorite Diptyque frags, till I reached for it this chilly late October morning, very cozy and warming; Now a favorite.
Rating: 8.5/10
God’s good news (gospel) is perhaps best incapsulated in the verse, John 3:16.
God bless you.

This lasted on my skin for the last 20 hours. I sprayed this in the crooks of my arms an hour after my shower last night. This morning I sprayed on a rich and strong white floral on my shoulders and chest. What I have been noticing throughout the late afternoon and early evening today is Eau Duelle edp.
To me it’s a nice clean musk and long lasting skin scent. It’s much more pleasant than wearing ambroxan, alone (Molecule 02). In the summer heat I get more of a heated skin mixed with dryer sheets impression.
In the winter this somehow came off to be fruity and gone in half an hour on me.

I have only lately learned to appreciate the scent of vanilla because of Eau Duelle EDP. The rich bourbon vanilla blended with peppery spices create a bright, unsweet, warm, slightly medicinal vibe which I absolutely love.
Patchouli is not listed as a note but Eau Duelle EDP shares a vibe similar to Tempo at the start: deep and earthy with hints of chocolate. It doesn’t turn cloyingly sweet unlike other cheap vanillas and not overly gourmandy, being balanced by the spices and a mild smoky quality. It is a perfectly masculine (even if unisex) yet unabashedly vanilla-based fragrance.
Lasts up to 8 hours on me with moderate projection.
Another masterpiece from this great house! Try it today!

This smells identical to the toilette. I love it

This was a surprise gift for my recent birthday. Which is as we all know very tricky with perfumes.
My husband knows that I love basically everything from Byredo and he did not want to give me something predictable from that brand.
Apparently he spent a good 2 hours at the Diptyque counter sniffing.
And although he does not like any sweet scents he figured this one would fit me well based on the fact that I do like Byredo.
The first 1-3 tries I did not like it very much. All I could smell was a very heavy and boozy vanilla. But I only wore it at home.
I still wanted to give it a try since I did not want to make my hubby feel like he gifted me something which I did not appreciate.
So I wore it to the office on a rainy and chilly spring day.
And wow…. the vanilla is always present. But it is very layered with leather, insence and orange although it is not listed here. It turns out to be a very pleasent, comforting and complex scent.
Longevity is a killer. Applied early in the morning it lasts the entire day until I take a shower late at night.
Not sure this works in the summer which is just around the corner but it will be fantastic in winter with a wool sweater.

Decided to try the Eau Duelle EDP version after I broke out in hives twice from the EDT. This is very different due to the simplified note breakdown, and bonus points as I didn’t have an allergic reaction.
It’s obvious that Diptyque makes quality natural scents, and what the EDP and EDT share in common is a dominant and forward, lucsious vanilla. The EDT is lighter and crisper, I think it could be worn year round where the EDP feels better suited for cooler weather.
Will I buy a FB? I really like it. If I can find it for a good price I’d be happy to have another stellar Diptyque in my collection.

I definitely smell wood which isn’t listed

Love this fragrance. Finally an “adult” vanilla that does not leave a synthetic/chemical trail. Eau Duelle EDP; blended to perfection!
Diptyque lists the notes as: vanilla, pink peppercorn, cypriol and calamus.

Why isn’t rockrose (labdinum) on the pyramid? Rose is a misnomer, it’s not woody and animalic. Anyways this smells bomb and I think I found the new love of my life

My all time favorite fragrance
Spicy at the beginning with woody notes and ends with a smooth vanilla scent
Great for cosy Winters, but really at any weather it would do just as well

I agree that the current notes listed for the edp version seems odd
I think edt version notes more likely match with the edp version

raw umber, would you consider this listing of notes to be accurate? I have the EDT (never smelled EDP), and am so surprised at how differently the notes are listed.

Thank you so much for adding this edp version of Eau Duelle to the database! The edp version of Eau Duelle has a much sweeter, warmer, ambery vanilla than the dry airy cold vanilla of the edt. Longevity of both versions is comparable but if you want a richer candied vanilla with your spices and woods, go edp. For a lighter, cooler aromatic wispy vanilla, edt is your best bet. I love them both.
