Clarins is presenting the new summer fragrance Clarins Eau des Jardins which arrives on the market in May 2010. This foamy, sensual and fresh new fragrance Eau de Jardins is perfect for hot weather and summer period of the year.

Its composition is created of etheric oils of grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, orange, citruses, black currant bud absolute, wild rose, mint, bay leaf, along with dry oils of cedar, patchouli, vetiver and white musk.

Beside the fragrance which wraps the aura and functions as a kind of aromatherapy, Eau des Jardins hydrates the skin and leaves a fresh and luminous effect.

The new flacon has the same shape as previous summer edition and is decorated with purple, orange, yellow and green colour.

Passed down treasure review #6:Eau des Jardins
    The final one.
I feel like I’ve smelled this before. It’s like a men’s cologne my dad or most men would wear. It’s like along the lines of all those designer men’s perfume. It smells aquatic at first,it smells cool to the nose with that and that sweet gummy orange candy.I don’t hate it.I don’t love it either. It’s perfect for your everyday perfume.Casuals really. It won’t offend anyone and it’s very likeable.

I got a sample of this free with a Clarins skincare order. I never really got on with Eau Dynamisante which was fairly ubiquitous in late 1990s, and Eau Des Jardins is the same on me. It’s a light, summery, fresh, sweet citrus. It’s a pleasant citrus, it’s not acid or sharp, it reminds me more of those sweet little clementines. It’s nice but bland, it’s like orange ice lollipops. The problem for me is that it’s incredibly drying on my skin, really very harsh. Clarins skin care range is brilliant, but for me their fragrances miss the mark.

Such a lovely sping fragrance. It’s very clean and fresh, very girly.

As refreshing as walking barefoot on a dewy lawn in the early morning, before sipping a glass of freshly-squeezed lemonade, laced with herbs picked from the garden….Eau des Jardins makes me feel amazing!! A great mood-booster with ingredients that nourish your body and soul 🙂

I love, love, love this fresh scent! Not too sweet, not too citrusy bitter – just the right mixture. I would have given it a 10 if it had better sillage and longevity. Unfortunately, i have to overspray every time i use it and even then it quickly becomes a skin scent. But other than that, a beautiful summer fragrance.

From the whole clarins-series (Eau dynamisante, ressourcante, ensoleillante and this one) this one is the least groundbreaking. Sweet, floral and fresh, and (don’t shoot the Messenger!) boring in my opinion. I had them all four, and this one has left my building. Life is too short for boring, I enjoy the other, more quirky ones much more.

I really love this one…if you love citrus you will love this!it smells like a citrus garden..floral and fresh!but thank God it’s not sweet!I wish it could last a little longer though.
it’s more a summer scent but i wear it the winter if want something refreshing

I vaguely remembered that I tested this once and thought it was something pretty for the summer, on the go in my purse for a quick refreshing spray. Well, I got it today and it’s much more pretty than I remembered! It’s not a perfume perfume, it does belong to the refreshing cologne/pick me up type of scent, but it’s a natural scent which is something very important to me. It’s not a synthetic fresh scent, it’s a “remember granny’s garden lazy summer days” kind of fresh 🙂 I adore Clarins for giving me a NATURAL fresh scent.

Very simple aqua-something fruity scent. It’s fresh and pretty 90s-like common. I like it a lot as it’s great for these days you just need a pick-me-up kind of scent.

  10. :

I had this one. I found it common and reminded me of other perfumes which is something I hate because I prefer to wear something different. I agree with the first user ezdravkova that it smells way too generic. Like always though, I appreciate the fact that Clarins uses mostly natural ingredients in their treatment fragrances.

This is a common scent I have smelled in other fragrances as well. It is truly like a ”citrus-flower punch” scent. I do like though the fact it’s natural (made from natural essential oils-not synthetic)and that’s where it differs from other commercial perfumes/fragrances. It’s a healthy fragrance and that’s what makes it stand out from the rest of the toxic crap in department stores.

  12. :

Citrus punch and that’s all. Don’t expect delicacy from that. Anyway, I rather like it.

Scent: aquatic candy-ish fruity-floral, with lovely fresh blackcurrant bud contrast in it. Perhaps a salicylate/sun screen aspect too.
The most frustrating scent I’ve encountered so far because it’s quite lovely, but SO very weak, yet the weakness is kinda part of it’s charm.
Actually fair longevity. The impression fades very soon after spraying it, especially on skin, but it’s one of those scents that you’ll unexpectedly catch whiffs of later on in the day. But frustrating, yes. You’re encouraged to “spray liberally all over”, i.e. it’s a body spray that sells for like €40.
Sniffing right after first blast now, the main thing I get is “green”. Also a bit aquatic (the Cool Water for women type), with some ‘expensive lotion’ or perhaps sunlotion aspect.
I can’t even pick out citrus clearly. If I was blind-sniffing this, I’m not even sure I’d say citrus at any time. *Possibly* some orange? Makes sense as this was designed to be sun-friendly.
After a minute or two the part that makes me love it comes out – a very vaguely minty/camphor/green/bitter/berry scent that I’ve concluded must be the “black currant bud” extract listed in the ingredients.
The rest of the scent is at this point a bit candy-ish, vaguely fruity-floral, but combined with that (I think) black currant bud touch, it’s actually lovely.
Other: sun-safe, relatively low allergen potential. Highly doubt it has but a trace of any citrus essential oils – and not citrusy to me despite the notes.

Beautiful for Spring and Summer! It’s not the most exciting or unique of fragrances but it is lovely for everyday wear. On me I notice that the perfume comes and goes in waves which I love. Fresh and crisp.
I just bought this for my mum as she has used every bit of it and I’m so jealous and I haven’t even given it to her yet! I might just have to treat myself next month…

When i ordered this online it was a blind buy and by the description i thought what can go wrong it is just a fresh beautiful easy to wear simple and hard not to like perfume:)) when sprayed it smells like fresh water that you find on leaves and flowers in the garden, and jucy fruits revigorating but for me it is only aparently so.It is raw not simple, the fruit is sour fresh fruit not refined.it is a unisex smell, more like an aftershave tonic for men.And i wanted a day fragrance and easy to wear and pleasant this gives me headache and it is heavy as well i get sick of it like when i get car sick and i m sick of the smell of gasoline and fragrances you spray your car to smell fresh-this perfume can enter in that category, it smells heavy with a fruity aroma. And as much as i tend to find some good thing in any perfume which i don’t like, still i can find something to like, in this one i can say that i don’t and i dislike it.

Fresh and slightly bitter scent. Worth trying if you´re looking for something citrusy that does not smell like soap. This one has actually some depth and maturity.
I would recommend it for both sexes.

Just discovered a small sample vial in my purse with only a tiny tiny bit left. I carried this with me last year during a holiday in Portugal. One spritz and I’m transported back in time. This is so refreshing without being harsh or cold. Rather soft lemon notes with a quite dominant flowery edge. It’s so soft and refreshing, I wish it lingered a bit longer. On to the want list it goes! Love the Clarins aromatherapy fragrances!

I was given this a gift and my first thought was “oh no” as I really dislike the other two Clarins perfumes I’ve smelled – Eau Dynamisante and Eau Ressourcante. Then I sprayed it on and bam! Love at first sniff. It begins with zingy citrus top notes which mellow to a greener soft scent, fresh and delicious. I love it for day wear or casual spring/summer evenings. Pretty and feminine – how could Clarins get it so wrong with their other scents yet so right with this one?

this is like opening the door to a heavenly garden.. this perfume has stood by me during very hot days and literally helped me carry on when the temperatures reach almost 48 deg celc..this is the type of perfume you need to cool you yet make you smell fresh and beautiful when no other perfume can do the trick ..dont get me wrong this can be worn all year round and will develop differently in different temperatures.. its almost a skin scent.. it heats with your skin and cools with you.. it helps you keep calm and concentrate better.. its so fresh.. so bright.. lightly florally ..almost succulent.. def citrucy in a more mellow refined ..juicy way.. its full of more orangy manderin grpfrute zezty lemony vibes.. it has mint and casia and vetiver with musks it all blends together so beautifully.. it helps me be in a better mood i also layer it with so many things and i can open it and decant it easily so i carry a small one on its own and i make a mix with it that everyone asks me what this perfume is.. i finished a bottles since last summer and thats almost impossible for me ..and i am def getting another one..
when i first spray it i simply say waw every single time i feel like a hundred vains have been refreshed and thank me in return.. it almost feels natural ..in a way it feels inevograting.. uplifting.. truly mesmerizing.. it smells like a clean ..cozy.. citrusy almost juicy connotation of something u might almost want to drink.. but its not like your sweet gourmands.. it just has the right amount of sweetness that has a vibe of some Christmasy berries maybe cranberries and hints of peach in my skin it turns more subtle more velvety than when i spray it on clothes ..its a rescuing perfume ..it really does have a magical potion that simply and effortlessly enhances my day.. its more of a day scent to an evening one but in summer it can be worn all day long ..
it also has that clean..crisp.. wispy.. after shower cooling effect.. utterly clean.. utterly refreshing in a french y light dreamy way.. yet it has warmth.. character.. and stamina ..it doesn’t burn if you spray it directly on your skin.. the entire line is made as an aromatherapy type of natural perfume made with more natural ingredients which is safer and makes me feel calmer happier and more relaxed

It is a beautiful, modest fragrance. It lacks ego which I like, it is polite and gentle, it says hello but it doesn’t shout or offend. It sort of reminds me of A Capella by Dear Rose… but it does smell familiar..

I have went through BOTTELS of this perfume over the years. This perfume is my safety perfume ! I always have it near by/ in my bag. Everybody likes it as there isn’t much not to like. Its fresh. Its NOT a statement perfume. if you are trigger happy, this could be your lucky day. It wears for an hour on me and then needs a touch up. Citrus, Citrus, Citrus, is all I can say, this is the note most people smell. worth the money!

  25. :

VERY nice. Reasonable price point. Definitely feminine. I wear usually in warmer weather, but could wear in colder weather. I usually pick this for casual to business casual days. Great for any occasion. Love to wear this after a day at the beach, after I’m showered and ready to go out for dinner with a fresh tan and a flirty summer outfit.
There are no downsides to this one for me. It always makes me smile and it was a good choice for my collection. This is the 1 perfume you can pack for your vacation and it would be appropriate for whatever you do, wherever you go. It is very versatile. Your guy will like it and so will your friends. It’s gentle, but not soft. It is not overwhelming, but has a strong presence. 4/4 stars.

This is more of a flowery fragrance with some citrus in it rather than the opposite. The flower notes are quite distinguishing and the scent becomes subtle as time goes by. Very nice and natural!

Great to help you wake up in the morning… I bought a box set on special at Christmas and along with the scented moisturiser it’s awesome… All I can smell is grapefruit 🙂 Also the lady at the day spa said that you can spray this all over your body before you go out and you won’t end up with any sun spots as there is no alcohol in it?? All in all big yes from me…

Tested this today in a reputable dept.store from a big atomizer, and it was really really crisp and tangy and citrusy. So I got the 30ml, but when I got home, I saw that this one did not have a spray cap at all. So ok, a splash bottle. But when I splash this on myself, I just get green apple (not even listed!) much like Light Blue. So huh, what’s that all about? I scrapped the box already and it’s gone, but not sure what this is.. but checking out the bottle it says Tester-not for sale. Huh?

I really like to wear this one in summer. For me…it feels like a glass of icy orange juice. It’s very refreshing & won’t upset anyone, but it’s not very long lasting for me. Overall, I’m very happy with this one. Just to re-apply again in next 3-4 hours.

  30. :

Starts nicely: fresh citrus lemon-mandarin orange, but than quickly turns smelling old and soapy. The quality is not there.

I love to wear this in the summertime as it is perfect for hot weather. I wore it at the beach all last year and whenever I put it on, I’m reminded of that place. My daughter says it smells ‘salty’, and I agree a bit but don’t know what notes that is coming from…. give it a try you will love it!

I tried this today and I liked it straight away as I thought it smelled great in a unique way. I have smelled a dozen other citrus fragrances in the past and this is definitely something more special!

I bought this when it first came out, about a year or two ago and LOVED it – So delicate, fresh and pretty – floral and fruity with citrus notes. I soon demolished my first bottle, so ordered another bottle a few weeks ago.
Now, I don’t know whether its my imagination, but it now smells way too citrusy with hardly ANY flowery notes, whereas my original bottle (first batch?) had a nicely balanced mixture of floral, fruity and citrus notes. Originally, the citrus did NOT overpower the other notes.
Now, it seems to be All About The Citrus and I don’t love it half as much 🙁
Why do they have to muck about with things?
If they haven’t, then it must be my ‘nose’ playing tricks and I apologise to Clarins!

This smells a lot like Aromatics Elixir, which I had years ago. It reminds me of dried herbs.

  36. :

Just received this and it was a blind buy (my first based on Fragrantica reviews). It’s really nice, very like Anna Sui Flight of Fancy at first. After about 10 minutes the middle notes are coming out really strongly and it’s reminding me of a herb garden. I hope the longevity is good 🙂

I have really liked this perfume since I first smelt it.
I’ve never been a fan of Clarins perfumes but this one is gorgeous. Fresh, light but with a warm heart . When I wear it I feel attractive .

  38. :

As always when I am completing blind purchases I refer to fragrantica for insight. I was impressed so I bought it. Really like it. Orgially it opened with a synthetic flowerly smell and though I wasn’t too thrilled I thought I could work with it.
Hours later the smell has evolved into a musky fresh scent. I really like this one. thanks fragrantica for always stearing me in the right direction.
This is one of the few unisex fragrances that I can see worn by both women and men. It’s sexy

perfect for warm spring and summer days- refreshing and uplifting. Gals in the office like to borrow it too. Got a free shower gel with it and together they are wonderful.

I looove this….from the first time I sprayed it last week…I went to make myself a sample, and decided to buy it right then….as it wears down, it could also be unisex…or I do get the idea I’m wearing a man’s fragrance….interesting twist…but I truly loooove it:)
I recommend this perfume for anyone who just wants to smll good. It is nothing like anything—100% unique, and when you turn around and wonder who smells so good, it’s you!!!

  41. :

    3 out of 5

I really love this scent! It’s the best of the Clarins range by far – (I find Eau Dynamisante too masculine.) The fragrance is just so lovely.
Its light, refreshing, and summery. Defintely a feel-good daytime fragrance, its brilliant value at £30GBP per 100mls.
I like it because its fruity and slightly floral, but not overpowering or sickly sweet. I always wear this when I have a long flight, as you can re-apply without offending anyone.
Clarins class this as a “treatment fragrance”, so its not exactly a eau de toilette, but I wish they did a concentrated / slightly stronger version. Whenever I wear this, I find myself inhaling my wrists, as it stays quite close to the skin.
Because its alcohol free, Its lovely to wear on holiday, on the beach or round the pool, and it moisturises too. Perfect!

  42. :

    3 out of 5

For me, this is my summer perfume. Its such a bright, fresh and sparkling fragrance that screams warm summer days to me. While I find this fruity, its perfectly balanced with a watery freshness and depth, so is in no way sickly sweet or what you’d rate as a cheap/young fragrance.

  43. :

    3 out of 5

To me this smells like a bunch fresh cut roses sitting an a vase filled with sherbet lemon water. It’s beautiful, I’m truly surprised how much I enjoy this fragrance. I love the herbal element to it.

  44. :

as if i have just walked into a beutiful parisian garden!

  46. :

    4 out of 5

Sharp, I would say piercing, citrus green scent. Doesn’t evolve as you wear it, much as I would have liked it to. Not sure where the “garden” name comes from, except I suppose it might be a good fragrance for the kind of woman who employs a gardener and treats him disrespectfully. Just smells mean.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

Like other reviewers stated below, I too use this as a body & mind care product rather than a perfume. It’s something I spray on after a shower or bath to enhance the Clarins soap. It’s cheery, light and a close to the skin scent. Easy and fresh.
I have 100ML and I will use it but I won’t repurchase because I get a bigger ‘Oomph’ out of Clarins “Eau Dynamisante” which has more silage and longevity, both things I love in aromatherapy. I think it more suitable for women rather than men, but I guess that’s because its like a more ‘natural’ (more akin to real citrus juice) version of Clinique “Happy” for Women.
Silage is: “faint whiffs of pretty citrus” — Longevity is on me 4+ hours.
Perfect for people who like/love light scents in the vein of “Happy” or “I Love Love”. But this is an Eau and not a perfume so be aware that this is very light.
Keep this during hot summers in your refrigerator and spray liberally after your morning shower for a fresh wake up call. Enjoy.

I found this perfume in Europe, and it is forever associated with that wonderful time in my life. It certainly does have a very European vibe to it. Springtime backpacking, meeting attractive, intelligent, interesting boys in hostels. Going out to drink or try local cuisine. It just has that vibe. Strong citrus scent, but the undertones are what really take it to Europe. Lasts a long time. Generally the least offensive perfume I’ve ever used. Everyone either loves it, likes it, or doesn’t care. This is my favorite perfume. Ever. So of course I recommend it.
**Added note: It’s the mint that adds that little bit of twist in there. It’s so slight But the second the fruit dies down it settles into this sexy sweetness with a hint of mint.

Initially I Loved this, clean fresh, envigorating but subtly so. It does not overwhelm with an explosion like air freshner. I smells natural and crisp.
NOW: I can’t stand it, not sure why but instantly induces a headache in me.
    I WANT TO TRADE THIS!

My fiancee bought it to me just yesterday, as I asked him if he could buy me a little gift 🙂 It was in a gift set with body lotion and a hand cream, and I have to say I love them all. This scent is very light and very fresh, it smells like a spring captured in the bottle. I feel fresh flowers, sun and energy in it. It lasts for a few hours, but it is not supposed to be treated like a perfume, as it’s just a body mist to me. I think it will perfectly fit warm, spring days! It’s just like a spring garden, truly wonderful, though I smell mostly flowers, and I have no idea why this scent is called ‘citrus’ smell.
    🙂

This strikes the perfect balance for me – zesty but not heavy, floral but not thick, and not at all harsh. I even smell something like cucumber in this that keeps me coming back for more. Could be casual or dressy, perfect for daytime, and very energizing.

A fresh, clean and very uplifting fragrance. The citrus notes are strong at first but a short while later the flower and wood notes come through, making this fragrance rather special. A great day fragrance especially in the workplace. You will most certainly recieve compliments as I have had many since wearing it. A great fragrance for any season of the year.

there is a disappointing dose of sugar in this one. I was sure I’d love it! But it is as sweet as some godawful Givenchy Play(((
still, I will finish the sample, at least there’s nothing unpleasant about it.
    Wearable but non-distinctive.

I’m surprised to see how many notes are in this scent as it smells so beautifully simple. I love that it is both fruity and fresh and simple.I think any woman of any age could wear this fragrance almost anywhere (although I wouldn’t wear it out in the evening) because it is so versatile due to its simplicity.

Imagine a lovely garden, filled with beautiful flowers and all kinds of herbs and plants. It is very early in the morning on a beautiful summery day. Everything is still dewy and there is some humidity in the air. The sun has just woken up, and starts spreading her light and warmth. Everything is gently warming up, the dew on the flowers and plants is slowly evaporating. The air carries the soul of all the plants around: their scent.
Get the picture? Well, that is Eau des Jardins! It smells like a lovely garden, early in the morning. It is fresh and clean, fruity without too much sweetness. It is refreshing and uplifting, it eases your mind and brings you in a happy mood.
The opening is packed with citruses, fresh and energizing. The fragrance evolves to a more floral and even slightly woody scent, without losing the freshness. It is perfect for summerdays, and suitable for every occasion. The scent is gentle and soft, spraying a lot or more frequent makes the scent more present without being overpowering. The lastingpower is excellent on my skin.

This is a gorgeous scent! It is very fresh and very floral. It makes me feel energized and feminine. However, it does not have a big silage, nor does it last very long on my skin (1-2 hours). It is nice though and a decent enough price that you can afford to reapply (if you chose too). Smells A LOT like Acqua di Gioia – just more linear.

Light citric floral. The floral scent is pretty nice and the citric is very aggressive. However, the floral is, IMO covered and dominated by the citric.

  61. :

very fresh and fruity. lots of citrus in the topnotes wich I like. then it becomes flowery and a bit woody to.
Great for a hot summersday to freshen you up or when you dont want to be overly perfumed. Use as a bodyspray

I must edit this when I get to try it on my skin, and am I ever looking forward to that! When I picked up the bottle and smelled it, I wasn’t expecting much due to the simplistic packaging (I know, I know, shallow). But I was absolutely taken with how delicious Eau des Jardins smells! I’m a citrus fan, but usually find citrus notes muddled with something… sharp. But this, this was like biting into a wonderfully sweet and juicy orange. Utterly delicious. I’m hoping it’ll turn out the same on me 🙂
edit: same, for the most part, on my skin as it was straight from the bottle… just a tad more green in the dry down. lovely!

Este perfume me recuerda un poco a Moschino Funny, ambos son cítricos con un dulzor muy especial, al estilo de Ligh Blue de D&G.
Muy perdurable y es ideal para el día o para trabajar.

I “tested” Eau des Jardins when an obnoxious sales assistant at Debenham’s sprayed this in my face because I hesitated one second to say NO when she asked me if I knew the new Clarins scent.
Anyway, I liked how my face smelled and my husband liked it, too.
He says it smells like chilled lemonade and fuit drops (in a good way!).
I have bought a big 100ml bottle (in a different Debenham’s store) and used this during the summer months.
It worked really well and I smelled fresh and sweet for weeks without attracted wasps.
And as the 100ml bottle is only £ 27 I will probably buy another one for next summer.

Love! Love! Love! If you wanted to like Happy by Clinique but found the synthetic smell off putting, then this is for you. This has all the zesty citrus you could want (think Body Shop’s satsuma shower gel) and the synthetic notes have been replaced by a beautiful, fresh and clean flowery scent which is uplifting but not overpowering. Fantastic fragrance for Spring/Summer. This fragrance has put a smile on my face that is for sure!

I really liked this. It smells like a frutier version of D&G Light Blue. I would get this if I hadn’t just bought D&G earlier this month. I have to try this on my skin

I just got this yesterday… it was funny because when I went into the perfumery I was looking for something completely different… and then I found THIS.
Fresh, clean, uplifting. Wonderful. I feel happy when I wear it. It’s my favourite perfume now. It reminds me a tiny bit of “Pure Morning” by Marc O’Polo, which I loved… guess it’s the citrusy top notes.
By the way, I got a lot of compliments on this fragrance.
I just HAD to have it. This is a wonderful scent I will never get tired of. And it hydrates the skin, leaving it soft and fresh.
    I TOTALLY LOVE IT!

This is a perfect summer fragrance! Very fresh and fruity, without being to cold.
I got it today as I wanted to get myself a refreshing summer fragrance. At first I wanted to go for Aqua di Gioia, but found Eau de Jardins to be much more plesant and suprisingly lasting.

Recently tried this, as here in the UK it was released last month. The bottle very summery. Although the SA told me this was unisex I think that this would work for women more than men (in my opinion). Clarins website describe it as ‘sparkling freshness of fruity zests, captivating note of wild rose and the scent of comforting wood….combined with the skin care benefits of beech, sorbier and blackcurrant bud extracts’. It’s more fruity and less herbal than previous body treatment scents from their range and has very good staying power. Today here in London it’s 29 °C, which is hot for here, and I didn’t want to wear my recent purchase Chloe (one of the few perfumes that you can actually smell on me!) as it’s a bit cloying for hot wheather. Out of my 100 odd perfume collection I prefered Clarins Eau de Jardins over JM verbenas of Provence, grapefruit, LBM, AG Eau de Hadrien, Fresh Hisperades, Citron de vigne, eau de rochas etc. If you like Citrus-fruity fragrances that are not annoyingly sweet then I would definitley give this one a go. I personally can spray this many times without getting sick of it and find it very calming for some reason! I’m using my samples at the moment and will be buying a full bottle in due course.

nothing speacial.. fresh, but way too generic, like you have smelled it 100 times before.. not worth spending time and money on it..
