nice, optimistic, simple, a bit foodie fragrance. it is not something you smell of everyone but it is not too bold or weird. i keep coming back, getting samples (not so amazed to buy the whole bottle but i did buy other from hermes) and enjoying it.

Like many of the reviewers below, when I first tried this I expected something more green and vegetal. This is bright, fruity (red currant?) and darned near edible. There’s nothing really bad I can actually say about this except that I wish it lasted longer. As it is an eau de cologne I can’t really fault it for being so short lived.
Fragrances like this feel like extravagance in one of the highest levels – paying around $180aud for something you spray with reckless abandon whenever you want to feel refreshed. Unlike most perfumes, this probably won’t last longer than 2 months in the Summer (if you’re lucky) and (if you’re even luckier to afford yourself such luxuries) you buy another bottle, and another and so forth. It’s that good.

This was included in a coffret set I purchased from Sephora recently. Out of the 4 scents included, I thought this would be my least favorite, or at least the one I wasn’t likely to wear. I expected something more vegetal- I was unfamiliar with the smell of rhubarb in a fragrance. What a pleasant surprise! I find it very refreshing, and so lovely for a summer day. It smells clean and fresh. I do not experience any bitterness as some Fragrantistas have noted. Actually I enjoy splashing some on after a hot shower, before I settle down for the evening. Hermes does no wrong in my book!

I have to say this perfum is so FRESH and not anoying smell, I just love the way this aroma runs on my skin, makes my day more relax and the complements never stops, the performance on me is huge. GOOD option for both: men and women.
The price is high in my Country, over the $100 for 100ml but it worths because I have never smelled something similar. KUDOS HERMES.

The rhubarb notes begin very bold and sharp but smells very artificial and cloyingly sweet with decent sillage that thankfully calms down after an hour into a soft and sweet warmth that lingers for most of the day. The opening really obstructs an otherwise ‘okay’ dry drown.

  6. :

This is lovely. Any rhubarb lover, this is THE rhubarb fragrance. It sort of reminds me of pomegranate in a way. It is huge rhubarb in the top and a sour, almost vomit type of note to it but then the berries kick in immediately and it becomes very sweet. It has a powdery almost floral component to it. It quickly becomes very soft and fades rapidly like most Hermes on my skin. In the base it has a rose quality to it. The final drydown in the base is a very animalic musk.

Like the grapefruit, but it doesn´t last on me. After 30 minutes it´s gone.

  9. :

    3 out of 5

This starts with a very sour and promising rhubarb note for me, but that quickly passes and it morphs into a grapefruit/tea scent for me. I was hoping for some sweetness from the fruit notes, but there is not much of it present on my skin. It’s perfectly fresh and reminiscent to me of the Jardin series.

  10. :

    3 out of 5

In the beginning it is 100% rhubarb – very sour, astringent you can almost taste the sourness. Momentally it’s bitter, almost “sweaty”. After an hour it’s getting softer, there is something reminding grapefruit/rose from Baby Doll to it, and also a tea note (tea + sweet fruity note – a very distant echo of Bvlgari Au The Rouge).

  11. :

    5 out of 5

At first I was reminded of YSL Baby Doll, but the dry down is so much better and soft. I get a lot of pink grapefruit. So pretty!

for me it was love from first sniff, just my perfect summer fragrance. Very fresh and crisp. Longevity: couple of hours.

  13. :

Smells very sour and bitter. Unfortunately not what I was hoping for when I sampled this one. Mind you it was on the test strip. I’m finding it very hard to like a fragrance from this house.

  14. :

    4 out of 5

Liquid happiness in a red bottle 🙂 Longevity is average.

  15. :

    3 out of 5

Unfortunately Hermes Rhubarb haven’t reached my expectations. I expected something like Ricci Ricci, instead I’ve met a very shy genie kept in a beautiful red bottle. Too soft red berry, rhubarb is almost unnoticeable. Really sad, not worth the price. Children perfumes have more character than this.

  16. :

    4 out of 5

Rhubarb fizz: sharply crisp, sparkling, juicy-fresh pinkness at first, with enough acid and green in the mix to keep the sweetness under control. Really invigorating, and while certainly pretty too, it’s still brisk and energetic enough to be true unisex as well IMO. Sadly it’s only at EDC strength, so ebbs to pretty much nothing in 3-4h – like a delicious iced lolly, which is exactly what you need in high heat but melts away so quickly to just vapour and a fleeting memory. Really no lasting power at all.
Yet overall this one is so vivid and invigorating I’d be happy to respray it and keep topping up that delicious dash of fruit from the start. Absolutely a summer scent I think – it’s all tart, citric refreshment, a brilliant fruit sorbet, not a warm rhubarb crumble pudding. A mood lifter, for sure.

  17. :

First of all, lets just say I am no expert at analyzing fragrances. All that I can say is that it is very light, it smells very fruity-floral. The scent doesn’t linger on the skin very long. I guess that’s what you call poor longevity. When I move, you get a faint whiff, but that’s about it.
It is sold as a unisex fragrance but honestly, I don’t think it smells very masculine, or whatever I think in my head should smell masculine. May be I’m the one who got it wrong.
It is pretty, but I was expecting more of an Hermès fragrance. Reminds me a lot of Eau des Jardins from Clarins. It’s clean, it is a daytime scent that would not offend in an office environment. I guess that’s what you call a soft sillage.

  18. :

There’s going to be a new Hermès fragrance being launched from the cologne series that’s more masculine, representing the Persian Black Lemon; silicilian lemon, black Ceylon tea and guaiac wood. Smells AMAZING and I have it on. This post is for those people that say, “how can you vote when it’s not out yet”.

  19. :

Opening is somewhat sour but drys down to a flowery scent. A little feminine for me so I share it with my wife…
Have tried layering it with Clinique Happy For Men and the combination is stupendous!!

  20. :

I swore I’d only write balanced and detailed reviews… But this is disgusting. Horribly synthetic, and without any virtue I can ascertain. And I love rhubarb. It just smells like a gimmick. Sorry, I hate writing negative reviews and would much sooner praise scents, but whatever you do, don’t blind buy.

  21. :

    3 out of 5

Opens really fresh and rhubarby then slowly warms up to this beautiful lingering sweetness that just envelopes you. It’s such a comforting scent

  22. :

    3 out of 5

Not bad. Fresh, sweet, not teenage sweet. Sour, i get citrus vibe. I bet it was used to mimic rhubarbe.
Dry down not that great, reminds me of a LIPSTICK. I guess this is the “women” part of the parfume.
Longevity as all fresh – ~2-3 hours. You can still smell it after 12h on skin or clothes from 5cm distance.
Poeple who say “It smells quite synthetic” OF COURSE!!! because rhubarbe have no smell it’s grass. 🙂 And i disagree it doesn’t smell synthetic, only dry down.
For 60$ 100ml not bad. Recommending.

I don’t know what it is about this one.But it’s STUNNING! My collection is large including favorites from Hermes, Byredo, Creed, Jo Malone, House Of Matriarch the list goes on and on. But this is one of my favorite perfumes I own. It’s so simple but intriguing, this is no way smells “cheap”. It makes me happy every time I smell it.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

Opening is wonderful smells very uplifting and summery, however it lacks longevity and projection and it becomes a skin scent within a half hour or so.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

To me this is straight up green notes and super sweet red berries. I love that this is fresh and crisp without smelling like generic grass clippings.
The start begins as sweet and clean sugary fruits, then quickly dissipates to a green blend of slightly vegetable-ish that stays linear but enjoyable. I don’t notice the musk note myself but it’s still a very enjoyable fragrance that would do best in warmer weather and sticks around for a few hours on the skin (have yet to try it on clothes).

  26. :

    4 out of 5

Crisp rhubarb, with a very tangy, green apple-esque opening. Linear. I wish more perfumes used this note! I love the smell but it’s far too simple for me to want to buy a decant or bottle. I’ll enjoy spritzing my sample in summer though!

  27. :

    5 out of 5

This is too one dimensional for me to really like. It’s pleasant, but it comes across as a prominent, pokey rhubarb top note, on an unremarkable generic base.
It smells quite synthetic. The rhubarb note is sweet, like a rhubarb crumble. With a rhubarb crumble it’s common to offset it against some spiciness and perhaps some caramelised flavour. This is all top, and there is nothing prominent or remarkable in the base.
I was hoping that this would use the rhubarb note as a centrepiece for creating a unique composition – in the way that, for example, Azzaro Acteur uses rose as the centre of a dark and sultry, tragic statement of its own. But here the statement is ‘smells like rhubarb’, or at a push ‘smells like rhubarb soap’.
I am a big fan of other compositions by Christine Nagel so a bit disappointed in this one, whose main statement is the sheer fact that it includes rhubarb. It stands out, but the rhubarb is quite shortlived, so it’s only really a big thing for the wearer. No doubt that’s intentional. I don’t know, just feels a bit faddy to me.

  28. :

    5 out of 5

    Perfect essence of rhubarb. <3
Spray it on your clothes: Very quickly goes to skin scent.
3 sprays to my shirt and people around me can smell it for about 1-2 hours. Traces still linger in the following 3-4 hours.
Though 3 sprays /is/ a little much for the first few minutes, it does fade, and it performs well.

    I LOVE THIS SCENT!!
I encountered this fragrance by this clerk at Saks Fifth Avenue last year. I kinda tried to ignore the clerk but she gave me this scent on paper. So i did not care until that night, but when i got out from the shower, the scent was amazing! even though i am not into citrusy and fruity scents, this fragrance has changed my mind completely! I would definitely buy the whole bottle soon since I cannot find any similar scent!
I could kinda make a similar connection with Jo Malone’s fragrance’s freshness with this scent too but this is a great scent. but i am not too sure if i want to wear this as a daily perfume, but i would love to smell this in a room or in the morning.

I wouldnt use this one never, but have to admit it smells different to most others scents I have smelled, anyway,to me this is more alittle drops to put in your intimacy on your fingers or hand tan a parfum to wear in the streets

STUNNING. I had to own this when I smelled it. It’s so unique but familiar at the same time it’s hard to describe. It has a beautiful fruity yet earthy feel. A must own.

Love at first sniff. I am in a cloud of spicy fruity goodness for many many hours. The bottle and its colour are superb.

  33. :

Tangy and fresh, familiar but also unexpected, and perfectly unisex. It took me a little while to warm up to this one, but once I did I really enjoyed it, and used up the rest of my sample right quickly.

  34. :

Since I’m nearly at the end of my red rhub, I put down these few words just to share the love. After having used it the whole summer, I’m wearing it again today and once more I’m delighted by its brilliant sour sweetness or sweet sourness, so enchanting and airy. It has really won my heart. Great cologne with a glamorous vibe.

  35. :

Lovely warm to hot weather scent. Very refreshing, a little bit sweet and very delicious. I would buy this if it weren’t for the lasting power – 1 hour. Too expensive to fade away so quickly.

I get Christine Nagel soapy scent that she put on Eau des Merveilles Bleue here. Sharp fruity notes then dries down to a white musk. Reminds me of something like a fruity fresh shampoo. 2nd to the most long lasting Hermes eau cologne. Mandarine Ambre as the first.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

My perfect summer fragrance. Sweet without bring cloying thanks to the sharpness of rhubarb and berries.
Light enough for daytime, interesting enough for evening. Frequently asked what I’m wearing by people loving the scent but not being able to identify it! Just a pity it doesn’t last a little longer.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

Fresh and sour initially and develops a bit sweeter as it dries down. Very nice, something familiar about it. I have no idea what rhubarb actually smells like, I found this sharply orangey moving on to floral sweetish cologne.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

Moderate sillage, and a crowd pleaser. Reminds me of Starbuck’s sweetened passion tea. To be honest, it’s not very interesting. It’s a great summer fragrance though!

  41. :

    3 out of 5

This is good stuff. it’s juicy/fruity without the cloying or overly sharp. A great scent for those looking for summer fragrance that’s unexpected and different from everything else in your collection. Super refreshing and makes you smile. A chilled rhubarb tartlet with berries. It is light and short lived, as most colognes, and probably one to be used up rather quickly. I can’t see these notes holding shape in a bottle longer than a year or two.

  42. :

    5 out of 5

Beautiful, I brought another Hermes perfume but I wish I had brought this one.
So unique and rehubarb comes through straight away with a hint of white musk, but so fresh and appealing.
Its fresh and alluring and very much a night and daytime perfume.
Just beautiful crisp and alluring you can smell it lightly throughout the day!
    Excellent 10/10

Wow. Reviews seem all over the place on this one! Well, I’ll add to the madness I suppose. I’m not really familiar with the smell of rhubarb – so this is all new to me. The way I would describe it is: fresh cut roses sitting in a vase filled with citrus water. There’s something very reminiscent about the undertones of this fragrance. While the note listing is brief, I find the smell to be fairly complex with nice depth. I see this as a fairly even unisex fragrance and personally, feel that it can be worn in warmer or cooler months. Overall I’m very pleased with the scent itself. I feel this is something I’ll really enjoy more after each use.

Rhubarb from start to finish! (as you might expect because of name ;D)
Lovely, quit a natural rhubarb, which includes some nice sourness and tartness. Overall fresh, refreshing, green, a little bit sweet and citrusy fragrance.
Wake up memories, because my grandmother’s yard has always grown rhubarb and she make a lovely kisel from it every summer 🙂
Easy to wear, safe choice because it isn’t offensive at any way. Longevity is moderate, about -+5 hours. I would buy if it would only be cheaper…(I could still consider if the longevity would be super good, but unfortunately it isn’t)

  47. :

    3 out of 5

Rhubarb is my new favorite note and Eau de Rhubarbe is all about pure rhubarb. I understand that some hermes fans would not find this one incredible,as it’s too fruity, but I’m not one of those.I think it’s comparable with l’eau d’orange vert without that masculine touch. Among all unisex perfumes of the house, I think this is least masculine one.
As a fruity admirer, I can ensure that Eau de rhubarbe is one of the best fruity perfumes I’ve ever smelt. I think rhubarb smells like fruity ice-tea. Mouth watering and fresh without being too sweet. While it’s fresh it also smells (and looks) very RED, which is another reason for me to like it.
I disagree the comment that eau de rhuabarb has minimize the exceptions of such a house like hermes, by its uncomplicated fruity notes. Admirers of more mysterious perfumes can easily go with the parallel fragrance of the house Galop.
Having all of these said and being a fan of this red bottle, I should add that I think the price is too much for a cologne. I wish at least it was EDT or available in smaller bottles than 100ml. Ok, I know it’s a follow up of previous jardin series, but it could have been more long lasting.

  48. :

I absolutely love the simplicity of this fragrance! That’s what makes it so beautiful. It’s sour, fruity, slightly salty, and fresh. Hermes has blended this so skilfully that the rhubarb is not bitter. I’ve found that I can wear this during any given season, it’s so versatile. You can’t go wrong with this if you like citrusy fragrances! Highly recommended!

This smelled amazing on the tester, the rhubarb is bright and interesting. On my skin after about 30 it turned to cheap generic berries. I wish everyone better luck because the fragrance smelled amazing. Highly recommend test before you buy.

I did not like this. Smells like rhubarb alright, but it is too sour. Made me feel sick. Well, at least it didn’t last long.

  53. :

    5 out of 5

Sour at first (rhubarbe) then develops more sweetness but remains sweet and sour. Very close to D & G L’imperatrice 3. Nice, fruity, fresh, more feminine than masculine. Ver nice!

  54. :

    3 out of 5

A funny idea, a funny bottle, and a funny & pleasant grapefruit-like intense rhubarb scent nuanced by the berries and muscs. This is a Cologne, so intensity decreases almost linearly from max to zero within 2 hours. Somewhat a nice interlude between 2 more serious flagrances. Price is a bit hefty (after all its a Hermes), but at 40% off for after-Xmas sales it was OK for me.
To keep things funny, Rhubarb would translate for gentlemen by “red beard” or for ladies by “rub the beard” 🙂 but more seriously, the ethymology is “beards of the Volga” as the first reports in the early middle age of this plant come from Russia (Rha = Volga River), before it came to western Europe and then to America.

Had this been an Ellena-creation, it’ll easily reflect back to Grapefruit (Sur le Nil), Roses (Sur le Toit), Gentiane root (Gentiane Blanche), with a touch of sweetness (berries in the pyramid), and a possible dexterous use of galbanum to evoke celery. It looks, however, like this is by Christine Nagel. She has done a remarkable job continuing the guerlinade/tradition of the line that Ellena built.
Incidentally, I’d tried Armani’s Sì (also by Nagel) yesterday, and I’m impressed with her range. This is absolutely night and day from Rhubarbe Ecarlate. It’s hard to imagine her full body of work being done by 1 person — sort of like Madonna’s expansive musical genre. There’s something in here for everyone.
Couldn’t scrub Sì fast enough, but love the Rhubarbe. In less than 2 hours, I’ve depleted 3/4 of a generous spray tester that Nordstrom’s made yesterday. Can we please get an Intense version of this with greater projection & staying power? When you do, I’ll be there.

I am surprised by the sweetness of Rhubarbe Ecarlate. It’s really quite sugary, which rhubarb, being a very tart vegetable, is not. Rhubarbe Sucree would have been a more fitting name.
Do guys like this? Very different from the other entries in the Hermes Eau de Cologne line-up…

I tried today this frag, it lasted on me 4 to 5 hrs, the rhubarb is lovely, extremely fresh after the 1st hour they mixed with the berries until it completely fades, interesting, fresh and different.

This fragrance could easily be a 4711 Acqua Colonia. And I’m not saying it in a bad way (at least for Acqua Colonia). It’s original.
But the first thing I noticed, I suspect some grapefruit in this mix. Maybe I’m wrong.
I like it after the middle, more towards the dry down. The opening is too novelty for my taste.
So if this was a 4711, then I wouldn’t complain, because I know what I’m buying. But for a Hermes fragrance with a Hermes price tag, no.
It fades away before you could even sniff it twice.
Again, original but the price makes it an unworthy purchase.

  63. :

    4 out of 5

It’s so yummy I could drink it , not wear it !
That being said, lately the house of Hermes has been creating shamefullly short lived scents. Not worth the money because it lasts so little… but it’s so good…. sparkling and fizzy like a glass of champagne, a little sweet and a little tart, very expensive and definitely not strong enough to alter your mood, if you know what I mean . Rhubarb and organic strawberries, those tiny ones full and flavour…in a glass of pink champagne.
The red bottle is beautiful … the class of Hermes is felt…. the smell is delicious….the concentration of perfume in the bottle is terrible. Make your own judgement if you want to buy. I couldn’t resist.

  64. :

    4 out of 5

Agree with other posters that the interesting rhubarb note only lasts about 30 mins, then the whole, expensive exercise becomes just another fruity floral.
Cannot repeat too often that the only rhubarb fragrance that was ever any good came from Comme des Garcons in a cream form, probably discontinued now.

  65. :

    5 out of 5

An inconsequential scent that smells nice (fruity and soft) enough upon application but very quickly dries and disappears from skin *and* clothing.
It makes a Jo Malone perfume seem like a powerhouse.
    My wife’s assessment was “Meh.”

  66. :

The same vibe of Tommy Girl IMHO, Eau de Rhubarbe more smooth and fruity but TG is more fresh and bright also last longer.

  67. :

Amazingly yummy and oh-so-pretty, shiny, gleaming red rhubarb with a hint of red fruit.
Loved it and would have snatched bottlefuls of it, had it not totally vapored off and vanished from my skin in less than 30 minutes.
A fierce, yet extremely short love.

  68. :

    4 out of 5

Very sweet, joyful, optimistic and feminine. Not really for guys. I smell a lot of roses, especially in the dry down. the opening is the best part, a bit bitter, more green. This is a fragrance made by a happy person. The opposite of its Neroli sibling. However, it is not an interesting fragrance, nor is it very sophisticated or luxurious.

  69. :

    4 out of 5

The opening of this fragrance is intoxicating to my nose. Tart rhubard makes my olfactory senses sing and makes my mouth begin to water….but alas this opening is just that….an opening. with 30 minutes or so the tart rhubarb is gone and on my skin the scent become quite floral and feminine to my nose. While this saddens me I do think this would be a lovely casual or even work scent for a women. While it may be fleeting is definitely something you could reapply over and over without offending anyone.

it’s a fresh light fruity fragrance with a low longevity. i know smell of rhubarbe from my childhood but i think it was not like this.

This smells so weird, it reminds me of some deodorant mixed with sweat, but still in a good way, like sweat is quite neutralized not awfully stinking.
I think it doesn’t smell quite as expensive as it is, I once had some very cheap perfume that smelled like it.
Rhubarb note is barely there, honestly, it smells more like citrus.
So it has a cheap body spray weird kind of thing going on.

Fine throughout, dry but not sharp or bitter. However, the longevity is a disgrace for a product at this price point. Honestly, it had died down to near nothing within 15 minutes.

A fruity, fun, playful fragrance for the summer….Did we say fun….

  75. :

Like a lot of reviewers have said, this is more of a grapefruit/berry scent than obvious rhubarb. I can’t imagine spending over $100 on a watery fruit salad, but it’s not horrible.
I never would have thought to look for rhubarb in a perfume, until Jo Malone’s White Lilac rhubarb rocked my world. I was hoping for something similar to that, with a better price tag. This is neither.

‘Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate’ begins with a mouthwatering blast of tart rhubarb, with a presence of crispness and refreshing vitality. A hint of acidic citrus is also noticeable, conjuring visions of ruby red grapefruit’s delicate flesh. The eponymous rhubarb is accompanied by an amalgam of red berries in the mid range accord. Nuances of strawberry, cranberry, and pomegranate seem to intermingle with the portentous rhubarb and delicately highlight its green, vegetal qualities. The aforementioned fruit notes also offer a counterbalancing sweetness to the otherwise somewhat tangy rhubarb. Delicately, an effusion of white musks intertwine the fragrance, softening its edges whilst blurring its focus. The blending of musks hint of a subtle floralcy, yet still manage to remain innocuous in tone. Like a blanketing mist found beneath a humid jungle’s canopy of foliage, the effect is ephemeral.
Of the two new additions to the Hermès “Les Colognes” collection, ‘Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate’ seems to have the most mass appeal. It is a delightful fragrance with well balanced tartness and a sparkling effervescent quality which is quite refreshing. The composition is straightforward without a huge degree of transformation on the skin. After the initial invigorating burst of crisp rhubarb, it quickly dries down to a accumulation of fruity red berries and comforting synthetic musks. The aforementioned berry notes and complimentary musks lean the fragrance towards the feminine side of the spectrum, albeit still remaining easily unisex. Although all of the “Les Colognes Collection” are intended for year-round utilization, ‘Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate’ wears stunningly in the heat of late summer and early autumn. As an “eau de cologne” concentration, sillage and longevity are average to above average. In comparison to others from the line (as well as to other offerings from Hermès) its performance is superior, projecting well and lasting throughout the day. Although I was deeply saddened to learn of the incomparable Jean-Claude Ellena’s decision to retire as Hermès house perfumer, I am equally optimistic toward the future of Hermès fragrances in Nagel’s very capable hands. With ‘Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate’ she has proven her aptitude at creating a commercial success without compromising her artistic vision.

This is a pleasant mix of rhubarb and berries, but it smells way too mainstream to me. It has nothing that sets it apart from the crowd. It is well made, no doubt but it lacks that je ne sais quoi, if you know what i mean. It smells more like Roger & Gallet than Hermès to me.
Overall, a light fruity fragrance, heavily priced.

I am a man and I love it. It’t fresh, it’s crispy.. perfectly for summer… and it’s in the same time elegant. Very orginal creation. Thank you Christine 🙂

Tested this on the airport and left the perfume stall feeling ready for rhubarb custard pie. This is such a friendly and lovely scent, impossible to dislike.

I own a sample for two days, reapplying it again and agin, waiting that something will go wrong and save some bucks. But I become addicted so much that I consider to ignore longevity and silage that are unfortunately below moderate.
    UPDATE:
Hm, I have to admit with broken hart that longevity and silage are rather week than moderate, considering if this gem is worth of money due to its weak performance 🙁 It should be either cheaper or have better perfomance to make this buy reasonable, but stil it doesn’t change the fact that this one is just divine.

Such an attractive little fragrance this is!
It opens with fizzy exuberant grapefruit masquerading as rhubarb, and quickly softens to a refined musk.
This fragrance hardly lasts at all, but is just such fun to wear!
It’s the perfect summer spritz, to be refreshed often for the sheer pleasure of it.

Gorgeous fresh and crisp rhubarb note opening. You can smell the stems and leaves, the whole damn thing,I only wish it lasted longer.
Soon after that initial blast subsides into a berry musk skin scent.
A shame really as I feel its one of the more innovative and different fragrances from Hermes in quite a while.

It’s nice enough, but it’s just so… simple. If it wasn’t for the Hermes logo, I’d think it was one of the Body Shop summer editions.

At first it smells like citrus even if lemony notes aren’t listed. A bit later it starts to be subtly sweet and more rhubarb like. Anyway, it is not pure rhubarb scent.
    Very good and extraordinary.

It opens with a strong mix of pungent grapefruit and juicy oranges. Slowly eases down into musk. About 15 minutes in, some note starts to ease through the intense citrus notes, and amp up the sweetness ever so slightly whilst calming the pungent acidic grapefruit. I keep thinking of candy necklaces and candy bracelets but it’s definitely not a candy scent. Nostalgic in a way. The dry down is comparable to the dry down of Revlon’s Love Is On, which is like Sweet tarts/valentines hearts, but last much much longer and is a bit more mature. Cannot wait to own a full bottle one day.

Smells not fantastic but nice for the first 15 minutes and then… gone.
Not acceptable from this house and within this price range.
    Hermes must change quickly.

I was excited to see this in the duty free section at an airport lounge recently. Naturally, I had to give it a blast.
The initial opening was indeed a very nice rhubarb shot to my nose with an orangey / berry complementary tone to boot.
I sprayed it on my wrist then walked out of the shop.
When I sniffed my wrist about 30 minutes later, I was disappointed to find that most of the rhubarb (and everything else actually) had practically disappeared.
Maybe it’s my DNA that just doesn’t work with many fragrances, I dunno, but this was (another) one of those high-hopers that – on my skin – dissolved into a skin-scent within half an hour of applying it. Damn!

I suspect I consume more rhubarb or rhubarb flavoured things than the average person and although I accept this perfume is not necessarily the most accurate representation, is it nice? …Yes!
The opening is a mandarin/red berries even apple like but does contain that raw greeness and sharpness which evokes a rhubarb effect. It’s not as authentic smelling as Comme des garçon rhubarb but by the same rule this lasts much longer and has more depth with a clean, floral musky base.
    This is simply a
