Description
The house of Giorgio Beverly Hills introduced its famous fragrance Giorgio in 1981. In May 2012, it launches a new light and sunny interpretation of the original, named Eau de Giorgio. The scent is described as floral, bold and vivid, containing rich flowers and sparkling fruits. It celebrates the luxurious lifestyle of California, Beverly Hills palm trees and Rodeo Drive breeze.
The composition starts with fresh orange blossom and bergamot that lead to opulent floral bouquet of ylang-ylang, tuberose, jasmine and gardenia in the heart. The base is discreetly oriental, blending notes of amber, patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla.
The fragrance is available as 50 and 90 ml Eau de Toilette.

This is a slightly calmed down version of the original, but still a heavy hitter for what the market puts out in this day and age. Its a strong sweetened white floral with a hint of sandalwood. The original Giorgio that is produced today is Sweeter and drier in comparison. The fruits add sweetness, the oakmoss and chamomile make it dry (like a dry white wine) the orchid, musk and rose lend a powdery nuance. But you take all that away and Eau De Giorgio is still powerful stuff! If you want to compare you’ll have to spray and sniff the Eau first. I cant speak to how Giorgio has changed over the years, I’ve smelled enough Primo and Giorgio growning up in the 80’s and 90’s to say if its a toned down version its probably a good thing for todays standard and it smells close enough to me! No one smokes anymore, but I can imagine when everyone did this was probably a good fragrance to cut through it. I recommend to anyone who wants to smell like sunshine and happiness 🙂

Just bought this at Shoppers for $20 for the 90ml EdT. I can’t believe this is an updated version. I’ve never smelled the original, but this perfume definitely has that 80’s hugeness right out of the bottle. I love it already. Smooth, thick and lush floral bouquet.

The go to scent for warm weather if you hate sweet/fruit/vanilla! clean, uber-fresh pure sunshine 🙂

Not bad at all! Clean, soapy, dry(sunny) and uplifting.

I smelled it again after finding it in a box with perfumes I dont use, sorry in my opinion it smells like the yellow vanilla-smelling Wunderbaum car deodorant.
Deroxcdmwj – :
My mother wore Giorgio well, back in the day. This “eau” version didn’t work on me at all. Seemed more like toilet bowl cleaner, chemical and unpleasant as a perfume.
rromanchuk – :
Eau de Giorgio is a sheered out, updated version of the original. Not quite as atomic in terms of sillage, but that’s not saying much. It’s still very much Giorgio and wearing this in public transport during rush hour might either a) make people glare at you with an expression that’s somewhere between neutral and hostile or b) make PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT! (limiiiiiiit) WALK ALONG THE RAZOR’S EDGE blast in their ears, with the accompanying imagery from Scarface, because this is such an early 80’s throwback it hurts.

Instantly took me back to when I vacationed in Italy and I was in a little tourist-trap restaurant. It was sunny out and the tables were draped in greasy red checkered table cloth. A waitress wore this scent and it was so strong that it could be detected the moment I walked into the place and paid $6 for a bottle of pop.
So, so strong and choking. A dated scent in my opinion.
candy123 – :
It smelled like toilet air refresher, I think that by eliminating some of the notes in Giorgio, the balance that makes Giorgio so nice and special was ruined and vanilla became the dominant note.

1990s in a bottle… 🙂 Longevity: very long lasting, which is great

Eau de Giorgio. Don’t expect a weakling. This is still a strong fragrance that packs a punch and puts some of my other fragrances to shame…EdG is no shy flower and if someone would have told me that this is the original Giorgio I would have believed it. At first whiff this smells exactly like the original. I would have to test them side by side to detect the difference. I have to see how it unfolds for me. I love Giorgio but I get a terrible headache when I wear it, so I ended up giving my bottle away. I hope I can cope better with EdG because I really love this scent. So uplifting and lively…
alexrey – :
normally I prefer stronger perfumes, but this one I like, too. I use it after shower, and also used to spray a bit on my pillow before I go to bed, and it lasts on it couple of days- i was surprised. On my skin doesnt last very long, maybe 3 hours, but it doesnt matter to me, it is very cheap so you dont feel sorry to apply it 3 times a day 🙂

The perfect summer alternative to its big sister. Lots of white flowers discretely and subtly combined together, with the similar note of iris that I can smell in Shalimar Parfum Initial, L’Eau. Now you can wear Giorgio Yellow all year long and spray as much as you can.
Come on Fragranticans, let’s make the world yellow!

The first spray of Eau de Giorgio was close enough to Giorgio to propel me back to the early 80’s. I have never owned the original Giorgio but I’ve certainly smelt it.
The opening of EdG is sharp and biting, there’s even a flash of green as from cut stems. This stage is not really for me, but after 10 minutes it progresses through that heady stage to a softer but still bright floral. My favourite stage of this perfume is the dry down.
Unfortunately EdG is not sweet enough on my skin. I’ve found it’s more to my taste when layered with other sweeter florals – it’s particularly good with Versace Femme.

Lirae100, I’m totally with you! Eau de Giorgio has all the best of Giorgio, leaving all the suffocating/bitter/animalic/aldehydic stuff behind/ Only the sun, white flowers and pure joy of life remain! Like the summer wind on a sunny day in a garden full of blooming jasmine, linden trees, black locust, gardenias, tuberose, orange trees – it must be a botanical garden, as normally these things don’t bloom at the same time or in the same place – but that’s just what it is!:))) This will be my June perfume next year I think!:)
Gabunurry – :
This is a new perfume altogether. This was put out in 2012. That’s why some of you think it dosent smell as strong or as heady floral as it used to. This is a different fume.
ryvkinmih – :
I really hate Giorgio by Giorgio Beverly Hills and I’m really in love with Eau de Giorgio. Is that even possible? Anyway, the reason for this is probably that Eau de is less powerful and it doesn’t give me headache. To me is a definition of spring, especially as all you get when you sprayed are the flowers. Beautiful white flowers. I really like it as it’s suitable for the upcoming spring days. I just I don’t mistake this frag with Giorgio by Giorgio as I can’t stand it.

My grandmother always wore this scent. I hadn’t known what the fragrance was that she always wore until I stumbled upon it randomly, she passed years ago and it brought tears to my eyes to experience it again. It’s beautiful, and now looking at the profile, it doesn’t surprise me that I love scents with a lot of the same notes. I wear it for special occasions, or when I think of her.

A short review from an individual, who has never tried the original Giorgio: powdery in a very strange, somehow aquatic way. I think that it is tuberose, which gives the perfume its character and longevity.
Staying power is very great – I still smell it after my clothes are washed and hanged to dry.
rereirf – :
I think they have made this perfume weaker in its reformulation. It is a sheer shadow of its former glory which is a shame. It is still wearable, but it is now more powdery than the stronger and gorgeous gardenia smell.

sunny tuberose for the brave!Very sweet ,sunny beachy with character.Iam hooked
davyd-3000 – :
I wore this in the mid 80’s and I loved it! It was a very sweet floral that had great longevity. I tried it in later years and find it a bit too sweet for my taste as I now like more heavy fragrances. This used to be quite strong…maybe there was a reformulation.
okm09 – :
An ever so “slightly” updated version of the original Giorgio Beverly Hills. To my nose it is almost identical in composition, but just a tad less enormous. If you are expecting a big difference, look elsewhere, as it is still very true to the classic from the 80’s. Overall this is made to be a little more wearable by today’s standards and should offend less.
ViktorDi – :
They did the same to Gioargio as they did to the original Oscar (releasing Esprit d´Oscar) – added sweet powder.
This Giorgio still is the clean smell of a cool bedroom in summer day with nice smelling beddings washed in “white flowers” softener and scented laundry starch. I prefer the old G (and Oscar).

I must write another review because my fiance had quite a different perception of Eau de Giorgio than me…
When i wore it out with him, he was fascinated with this scent, saying it reminded him of ‘lying in a bed with freshly washed sheets in a warm sunlit bedroom’ and that it was ‘very feminine and elegant but young, soft and lovely’ . It put him in a poetic and romantic mood, haha. He even asked the name of the fragrance and offered to buy another bottle, but i don’t need it. Needless to say, he loved the scent and he usually likes heavier, dirtier, mature scents like Chanel, Shalimar and Boudoir.
It’s hard to believe that original Giorgio was a ‘powerhouse’ perfume, never smelled it but i would like to just for the sake of curiosity.
I still don’t love this soft white floral scent (but i do like it enough) but my fiance sure is inlove with this feminine sunny concoction.
atj – :
I never heard of this brand before, so i had no prejudices prior trying this fragrance.
The scent is a bit hard to describe but it’s a distinct, enigmatic, plush floral yet it still manages to smell light/non intrusive.
It might be a weird description but it reminds of baby version of L’air du Temps . Babyish in terms of softness, lightness and innocence it evokes, cheerful like childhood yet classy. It also reminds me of something almost slightly pharmaceutical. Long lasting.
EDIT: the initial smell is somewhat pungent and misleading but after 5-10 minutes the fragrance beautifies into something soft – innocent and very silky white flowers. I like it quite a bit.

Happy Mother’s Day! Does anyone know where this is being sold? Thanks!
redrous – :
I think this is a 2010’s version of the oiginal which can seem ” too much” for nowadays noses , the teeny/sweety/girly scents are the most popular right now and people lost the habit of smelling perfumes that really do smell like perfume , not like food, candy or something vaguely flowery .
Not as brillant as the original , but still quite close , it can be a gentle introduction to more daring perfumes for a younger audience or for ” perfumy shy” people .

A mi pais llego a fin de los 80S y se popularizo a principio de los 90s. Sin igual, glorioso, vital, originalmente grandioso…
