A very warm, cozy, and amberish foody vanilla. Very fluffy, and maybe powdery in a suffocating way. The florals are in the background. I usually adore vanilla, amber, florals, and sandlewood, but this blend is unpleasant and weird for me…kind of like hiding in a stuffy closet with a vase filled with week-old flowers, while eating a caramel sprinkled with talcum powder. I’m not trying to be mean…smells are obviouly subjective, and it’s my honest experience from each of the 4 times that I tried this.

I have nothing more to add to these wonderful reviews in terms of scent notes. This one was a very pleasant surprise to me, and I believe it was my favorite of the three samples.

You had me at the opening! This is completely elegant and beautiful. Just like Sole Nero, it is well blended and well balanced.
The florals are soft and exotic without the need to be ‘in your face.’ The warmth of the amber adds to the mild sweetness of the ylang-ylang and jasmine creating a very welcoming experience. The patchouli and sandalwood come out toward the end but seem to stay muted for the most part, which I think was a smart move.
Now I do have to mention sometimes when I have tried this on particularly hot days this for some reason will end up with a metallic smell, almost reminding me of aluminum or even blood. I know, totally weird, right? And I really can’t wait to test this out in the cooler weather to see if that oddity is eliminated because this is indeed gorgeous.

I would say that the most prominent notes in Doux Amour are the jasmine, amber and vanilla with subtle patchouli. The scent is very warm and comforting but not really that animalic…I’d say slightly smoky for a bit. It’s slightly gourmandish and there’s some musk in the far dry down, but your nose has to be to your wrist to smell it. I agree with dannysmom about the sillage; people won’t smell you before you enter the room, but as they get within 2 to 3 feet of you they’ll be asking you what you’re wearing. And, she’s also right about it seeming to fade and come back, ever so subtly for hours.

intoxicating; sharp at the top and dries down to creaminess that is hard to describe. I walked a little taller and hazarded a red lipstick after trying this one on at the counter. I also took a bottle home with me.

I like this one. The vanilla and sandlewood really come through. It almost has an almond smell, vaguely similar to Hanae Mori Butterfly (without the strawberry). I also smell the flowers, but they are not as prominent. This fragrance is soft and creamy. It works well on warmer days, but I could also see it doing well on cooler ones.
This is not a scent that you can smell a mile away. Instead, I’d say it’s for the people that get close. It lasted about 6 hours on my skin. Then; I thought it had gone away, but seemed to come back again in the evening (only more musky). I could actually still smell it the next morning. Nice scent..
