Description

Marc Jacobs is launching Marc Jacobs Dot. The new fragrance continues the cheerful game of petals decorated by modern and characteristic flacons of the Jacobs collection. Polka dots embellish red petals and a ball on the cap, which looks like ladybug in the heart of a flower.

The fragrance is introduced in March 2012, available in 30, 50 and 100ml EDP flacons, along with perfumed body care products. The composition has been announced as floral-fruity, surrounded with exotic notes of coconut and wrapped in soft vanilla embrace.

Top notes of the new fragrance DOT incorporate red berries combined with pitaya fruit, known also as dragon fruit. The juicy and exciting opening is followed by a floral trio composed of honeysuckle, jasmine and orange blossom, while a base closes with a trail of coconut water, vanilla, driftwood and sensual musk. The flacon is made of red glass and decorated with flowers and golden plate with inscribed name of the fragrance and of the brand

Dot was created by Annie Buzantian and Ann Gottlieb.

When I first spray it on, I get a whiff of strong fruity florals, very clean and refreshing, a bit strong and heavy at first. Then about 30 minutes in, I start smelling Jasmine with hints of Coconut/Vanilla and about 2 hours later my skin has a lovely scent of Woodiness with a Vanilla Musk note. I would rate it a solid 7/10. It lasts about 6 hours on me and 1-2 days on my clothes.

but the bottle kicks butt though lol…….so my review is all about the bottle lol super cute…..looks adorable on your shelf or dresser – great bottle concept – just too bad they didnt put as much thought into the scent lol

This kinda of reminds me of your typical tropical fruity celebrity fragrance but with better longevity and silage. It smells good. I only have a mini version that I keep in my purse and I won’t be repurchasing it. But I will enjoy it while I have it!

Meh. I wish there was an “ok” option, because that is how I feel about this. I bought a 1 oz. Bottle at tjmaxx this summer & wore it almost everyday throughout summer. The weird thing is, I can’t even remember the exact scent of it despite how much I wore it over the past summer. The perfume is easily forgettable! I remember it being fruity, but that is about it. It is not a bad scent by any means. It is inoffensive and smells nice, but it is just too generic to remember. It is a shame because the memories attached to scents is what I love about perfume. I want to wear something I won’t forget & that will being back memories.

Such a cute bottle, but the juice inside is leaving me a lot to be desired!
All I get from this is some REALLY watery, nondescript fruits, some nondescript florals, and something peppery but also hard to pinpoint. Boring, boring, boring.
A lot of perfumes I owned were left at the house my ex and I shared after our split, and I’m certainly not missing this one.

I agree that this is a very generic scent. It is a fruity floral, leaning more towards the floral and slightly woodsy side on the drydown. Though it is nothing special, it is well-balanced, and a versatile scent to transition between day and night — the woodsy element adds something that makes it perfect for getting a couple drinks or a late dinner after work. Unfortunately, it only lasts about 3-4 hours on me. If you love the bottle design and find it at a discounted price, it’s worth a try, but at its full price, don’t bother.
As for the age range, I imagine that this is for someone 20s-mid 30s, although of course you can wear any scent at any age. I definitely wouldn’t blind buy this for a teen, though, since it is slightly cloying and heavy. The bottle makes it seem like a younger scent than it is.

I guess this just doesn’t mesh well with my body chemistry, because it smells like a funeral home on me.

Om my skin, at first spritz this fragance smells like cucumber and musk. Maybe it’s the pitahaya. After 5 minutes it softens and it’s only perceptible at close distance. The smell is fresh, calm, feminine and fruity but doesnt last too long on me, such a shame.

I smell ginger and flowers in this, which doesn’t make any sense. I’m using the 4 ml dabber, and I don’t think it’s been tampered with because it was sealed in a blister pack that I had to cut open.
I don’t smell fruit at all until well after the drydown, by which point it’s a skin scent only.
I’m sooo glad I got the mini off Ebay instead of paying $$ for the 1 oz bottle at Ross.

I remember smelling this when this first came out, and it just smelled like sour cherries on my skin. Now, several years later, many fragrances smell different on my skin due to the change of life women go through (might be a little bit TMI, but, it is what it is..a fact of life!! lol..). Many fragrances I used to love, now, not so much, and many fragrances that I used to dislike, I now like, or even love. So, when I saw a little 1 ouncer of Dot on clearance at Ross, I thought, why not revisit this little cutie.
For the first 10 minutes or so, I still get an unpleasant sour cherry scent/synthetic scent. The next 10 or 15 minutes, are unfortunately very synthetic for me, and nothing else. But….after around wearing this for about 30 minutes, Dot settles into a decent, sort of average fragrance (I can’t really pick apart he notes), if a little generic smelling, fragrance to my nose/on my skin…Still ultimately is too synthetic for me.
I totally agree with the reviewers saying this reminds them of a Victoria’s Secret fragrance. Much like most VS fragrances, Dot to me seems geared towards late teens/early 20’s gals..although, wear what you want, no matter what your age….But in general, I just think this is more of a young gal’s scent. It’s okay, but it still is not ‘for me’..it’s just not something I want to smell like. It’s okay, but unfortunately there is still just a synthetic smell to this for me. Into the donation pile it goes..Can’t win them all!!

Just got this on sale on target.com for $33! It’s not worth the full price since it’s a very generic scent, but for a clearance price of $33 (I think they’re discontinuing it) I couldn’t resist. I had wanted it since I was in High School (that was 7 years ago), but back then I didn’t have the funding to make this purchase. When I did start making money, my taste changed. But I got it for my collection now!
It’s a light, slightly sweet, but fresh, scent that you could wear to the office. It makes me feel giddy inside, like I’m reliving High School (the good parts of it; it was definitely a nightmare at times) the way I wanted it to be remembered. I feel like a youthful child with no burdens of crippling university and graduate school debt, with no bills, or rent to make. For a split second, I am free. Then reality hits you like a back of bricks, but that’s okay, this scent will always be there for me to escape to my fantasy.
I recommend getting it! Especially for the new clearance price! If you don’t like it, it could end up being a very overpriced, but cute ornament for your bedside table.

Hints of coconut and jasmine on my skin. Beautiful fragrance. Longevity and sillage are fabulous. On my list for a full size bottle.

I love Dot. This was my signature for the first two years of high school (though when I use it, I spray a lot less on now!) until I ended up switching to Roberto Cavalli’s Acqua. This was an odd move, now that I think about it, since Dot is much more ‘me’.
The berries are the strongest note to me, but that might just be the red packaging talking. Dot is obviously a fruity-floral but I don’t say this in a dismissive sense (as in, I don’t mean to say it smells like all of the others out there). The fruit notes and the floral notes really mix well, and it doesn’t feel too formulaic. The driftwood also complements the overall fruity tone — and it definitely complements the already slightly woody coconut accord — in that it’s not a conventional woodiness, and it keeps the scent lighter than something like cedar would. This is such a well-balanced scent, and, I like to think, actually quite unique compared to the rest of the fragrances marketed towards Dot’s target audience.
The silage is decent. It’s not too strong but it’s still there. Longevity isn’t amazing but I’m a sucker for anything I like the smell of!
Not only do I love the scent, but the ladybug concept here is great, too, though I must say that I don’t think of ladybugs as being as tropical as the coconut and dragonfruit notes here. The flacon is just adorable, but as nice a touch the little pearly plastic bugs are, mine broke off very quickly.

I blind-bought this perfume off someone online, unfortunately, someone else picked it up for me (as I don’t have a car), so I didn’t get the chance to test it..
I was so excited to try it when it arrived, but to my dismay, IT DIDN’T HAVE A SPRAYER!! 🙁
If anyone has an empty bottle and they would be willing to send me the little sprayer cap thingy, I would be overjoyed!!!
Please PM me if you can help a sister out!
    THANKS!
P.S. I’ll come back and review it properly once I can actually spray it lol

Sweet sugar water is all i’m getting. Very generic, smells just like ‘oh Lola’ and every other Marc Jacobs perfume (with the exception of Decadence perhaps). I just do not get the hype around Marc Jacobs fragrances?? what am i missing?? Only the bottles are appealing in my opinion but I’m more concerned with the juice so wouldn’t pay the asking prices just for the bottle alone.
Very safe fragrance couldn’t possibly offend anyone.

  16. :

    3 out of 5

I’ll be honest – I bought this mostly for the bottle 🙂 With regards to the scent I am at a bit of a loss trying to describe it. It smells quite… generic I guess. Not in a bad way as it is a pleasant perfume and not a cheap knock off but it smells like the lingering remnants of a perfume that once filled the room. Almost as though you just missed it or the person wearing it. Or you enter a perfume shop and a bit of everything floats in the air. It is a fairly safe buy, it’s a fruity floral and quite soft and mainstream. I feel the same way about Marc Jacobs Honey – I can’t really smell much at all with that one. Perhaps it is my nose. Sorry for the vague descriptives but this is the best way I can describe it. It is funny how watery some of Marc Jacobs fragrances are. Perhaps the Dream version of Daisy (the blue bottle) being the biggest offender. I know a lot of people love it but after two minutes the smell is gone essentially, as though I have smelt a cloud or a ghost wearing perfume. Marc Jacobs seems to enjoy making these fragrances. I wonder why – is it so people keep respraying and buy another one so soon? is it to appeal to parents searching for a ‘first perfume’ for their daughters and it fitting the bill of being nice but not attention seeking? In a nutshell I would say Dot is a soft fruity floral (I don’t think it smells even remotely like Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy which is a strong pepper/pimento/spicy floral) and it’s a safe choice with a cute bottle to boot.

Pretty but really, really soft. My husband bought me a small sampler, as a really sweet surprise but I can barely smell it. It just smells kind of sweet and soft. It reminds me (and I’m aging myself) of the Disney store perfumes from the 1990s that were at the mall. It smells like the Snow white one.

  18. :

    3 out of 5

Although NOT a gender-bender myself, I sometimes prefer sweeter or more candy-ish scents that simply aren’t available in the men’s department. I sampled Dot today at the local outlet mall, on paper AND skin, and I have to say the marketing for this was all wrong! The notes listed include red berries and dragonfruit (pitahaya), but Dot is a heavy floral! I can’t even discern any fruit at all. Don’t get me wrong, I have learned to appreciate a good floral, but this one AIN’T good, ha, and certainly not what I expected from the “cutesy” packaging. I would NEVER buy a full bottle of this.

  19. :

    3 out of 5

I think this smells too woodsy to work with the fruity notes. I love fruity perfumes but this one falls short. I get a yummy, sweet berry but its overpowered by the florals which are headache inducing. Then the woodsy note is too strong and happens too early so it smells like a damp cardboard box–less fruity fresh and more pulpy. I really wanted to like this but can’t wear it. Its best quality is that it could be for an older crowd thanks to the floral heart, which is rare for fruity scents. Too cloying for the summer so perhaps best in the spring. The bottle like all Mark Jacobs creations is absolutely adorable.

I have a sample of this and sprayed it one day before going to classes on my neck and wrists. Sometime during the day I kept getting whiffs of what reminded me of my boyfriend whom I’m in a long distance relationship with (I hadn’t seen him in a few months which is why it was particularly odd to smell it). It smelled similar to his cologne or freshly washed hair. I realized it was coming from me. Conclusion: this perfume smells like a man on me. The initial spray is fresh and fruity, I can smell the dragon fruit and coconut, and shortly after it ventures into playful juicy white florals that do feel cheerfully feminine. But it dries down into a cool fresh aquatic scent to me. And there’s almost something kind of smokey about it, woodsy but smokey too. I guess that’s the drift wood? Or the musk? Someone described it as being like pencil shavings and I get that. Either way, I’m not really a fan. I like very gourmand sweet feminine smells and on my skin this feels a lot fresher and more unisex. I believe this could actually work for a man to wear, at least the dry down.

The super sweetness in this perfume reminds me of Coach Poppy, Vince Camuto EDP and Vince Camuto Bella (they all are super sickly sweet, with tutti-fruity candy-like smell). If you mostly like citrus, woody or spices in fragrance, this is DEFINITELY not for you. The bottle design also tells all. It may look “cute”, “pretty” and “adorable” but come on, seriously…
This one is a VERY child-like (from A to Z) product, but comes with an over-priced tag for adults!

  22. :

The bottle is beautiful. All I smell in the perfume is a juicy watermelon, I know watermelon isn’t one of the notes. It smells nice and fresh but doesn’t last long.

  23. :

the florals in this scent overwhelm me a bit an make me sneeze but I still love it and LOVE it some more.
The fruit can be STRONG but in a fun way. a very happy and uplifting scent perfect if you need a reminder not to take life too seriously.
i borrowed it from a friend a few years ago and fell in love with it, finally got around to getting a bottle myself – never looked back.
i did get it on sale at a half price though, probably wouldn’t have paid full price.
here in Australia, it retails at $160 for a 100ml bottle – brought it for $76 on a special Marc Jacobs sale.

    Happy, carefree, pretty, casual, delightful.
Red berries & honeysuckle.. I do not get the vanilla or the jasmine.. maybe some hint of the coconut.
For some reason I get a slight “male fragrance vibe”, but just slightly.. it´s definitely a girly girl fragrance.
Appropiate for pretty much any situation, except for formal occasions. Wearable in summer, spring, autumm, winter… outdoors, indoors, for teens, young adults, even mature woman who are looking for a morning carefree easy to wear scent. Super versatile!
You will not inspire sex appeal, power or romance.
This will portrait you as a fun pretty girl with a free spirit.
Projection: Good on the first hour or so.. then it just sits closer to the skin. I`ve had this scent for over a year and only once I received a compliment at work.
Longevity: Around 7 hours.. not so good for an Eau de Parfum, but then.. it´s fruity, almost no woods in the base, so you can´t expect much more.
Bottle: one the most gorgeous bottles in my collection… a keeper for display.
In summary, I do enjoy this fragrance, but for the price you pay you can get better.
I don´t think I will repurchase, I´d rather move on and try something else.

I don’t know guys, this one is kind of boring. I received a sample and really want to like it, but Dot is too safe and unoriginal. It’s fun, I guess, but not a lot new here…
Berry sweet with pencil shaving woods, and florals that are just sorta there. Very Bath and Bodyworks or Victoria’s Secret. Not my thing, but also not terrible.

  26. :

    4 out of 5

Fruity, floral and woody with a hint of musk. I like it! The fruits are not too sweet. The wood has a dry scent to it and the musk is subtile enough. The notes are well balanced! I can smell light traces of coconut and vanilla after a while. These traces become more noticeable after a few hours. It’s not a heavy or deep perfume. It’s a nice scent for casual use.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

To me, this smells like watermelons and cucumbers sprinkled with black pepper and pencil shavings. It’s sweet, but a weird sweet, bordering on masculine. Much different than I was expecting. From the reviews I was expecting a sugary, fruity, boring melon scent but it’s more interesting than that. I think the silage is pleasant when someone walks by wearing it. Smells better on other people than if you smell yourself.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

Despite the fact that Dot is obviously mass-marketed to a young, mid-market demographic I really, really love this! And this is coming from a 50+ financial professional that generally prefers companies that target a more discerning crowd (Creed, Prada, Balenciaga, Armani, Chanel) but I am always up for a new scentsational adventure and DOT is it!
Right after the the initial spritz, I detected the dragon fruit, coconut, litchi and vanilla. Not too sweet or cloying, it reminded me of a juicy cocktail at a summer resort. But after awhile, the driftwood and the musk mingle with the honeysuckle and orange flower-I have progressed from the beach bar to the shore and I can breathe in the waves, the seaside flora and the earthy scent of sandy driftwood.
I know that this won’t be for everybody due to individual chemistry and Marc Jacobs should stop the assembly line for a short minute ( I won’t ever forgive him for Decadence-EVER! Bleccch!). However, please get past the frivolous looking bottle (doesn’t pack well, sadly) and give this a shot-or a spritz. You might be pleasantly surprised, too.
In short, this is my new summer scent! It lasts a long time, carries well without being overbearing AND I have received a compliment every day that I have worn this. I just wish it was named something else than Dot, it really has a lot more substance and depth than the name and bottle convey.

Cross the Inside of a pencil case.
    , the beach
and a slice of dragon fruit.
    ….and here is Dot perfume.
    Odd? yep. Master stroke? definitely!
Great for days your tired of sweetie or flower smells
yet has the staying power of a stronger perfume.

Dot is sensual, intoxicating and reasonably sweet. I would totally recommend this to a friend and I’m not sure why it is so low on the loves.
The packaging is amazing like Marc Jacob’s Honey.

This was my first Marc Jacobs fragrance… I love anything Marc Jacobs. So going back to the perfume, I personally wear this at night, has a very strong lasting effect and hints of vanilla makes it very warm. Just two sprays is enough. This is a very sophisticated scent.

  32. :

This scent is definitely fruity but I can smell a hint of vanilla and musk as well. I love the fruity notes but not to fond of the sweetness/powdery smell it it leaves.

This smells like peppermint fruity bubble gum. Very fun scent. The bottle is adorable. Smells similar to Victoria secret very sexy. Long lasting too.

People tend to slate this fragrance compared to Marc Jacob’s others and I don’t know why! It is by far my FAVOURITE of his collection -different from the rest. Extremely fresh, lovely for every day wear. I get notes of dragon fruit and sandal wood on my skin, settling down to a clean, fresh perfumey scent. Plus the bottle is gorgeous and sits lovely on my dressing table!

  37. :

I have a mini of DOT which had been a blind buy. This is a casual, sweet fruity-floral fragrance and it is similar to a number of others of this type which are considerably less expensive. (In this case though, I had a bunch of store coupons I needed to use before they expired and my final cost was about $3.) The initial notes remind me of fruit punch and this doesn’t thrill me, but once it starts to dry down, I can pick up the woodiness and musk, which I find much more interesting. For me, this is more of a winter fragrance as it’s too sweet for warm weather. Sillage is soft and longevity is moderate. This is one of those fragrances that I neither like nor dislike and ultimately, it’s not one I’ll repurchase after I use up the mini.

  38. :

    Nothing special.
It smells like the scent of over chewed bubble gum, on paper. Very light and delicate.
    Good for a child’s perfume.

Wow, now this is a memorable scent. I got Dot as an early birthday gift (about two weeks since I first got it) and I have been wearing it all day ever since then. Like it says, it’s a very fruity and energetic scent- sort of reminds me of cheerleaders from back when I was in high school or of the picnics I used to have with my friends. After some time, you can smell a hint of the coconut, but at first you get a whiff of sweet berries with floral splashes. I tend to wear this to my classes at the university and am often complimented on it. It doesn’t last more than four hours on me, but I will go ahead to purchase the rollerball to take with me to school. It may be a pricey and decent lasting perfume, but I believe that this is worth the price. My mom purchased the 1.7oz for $50 at Costco, so if you look at the right places, I bet that you can find a price that is reasonable enough for you. The bottle itself is also kind of cute. I have it on display on my nightstand. If you want a young, wild, fruity/floral perfume, this will def work for you and catch the noses of others.

Finally caved and decided to try one of the “Cool Girl” Marc Jacobs’ fragrances. Maybe it’s because I’m easily impressed that I expected to like this more, but I find myself agreeing with so many of the reviews here. Dot is watery and bland and vaguely sweet/fruity. Nothing is distinguishable beyond some muddled red berries. I have no idea how it managed to be so popular when it feels like it’s barely even a fragrance.
I understand that at 25 I’m older than the targeted demographic but I don’t think I would buy this for a young girl, either. It has zero personality and nothing interesting to say.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

The bottle is gorgeous, I love the colour red and so this goes perfectly with me and it is the most stunning bottle on my vanity and it is up against some stiff competition!
Onto the scent, the red berries and the pitahaya mix together to create this enchanting summery smell that I can’t get enough of!

  42. :

    5 out of 5

Dot is an inoffensive and very typical fragrance. It doesn’t smell bad, and I did wear it for a couple of months.
It’s a decent Winter and Spring scent that just adds a little bit to your outfit without making any statement whatsoever.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

Overall not a bad scent, fruity, sweet, I think it’s suitable for the younger generation though (13-17) as it’s cheap and a bit bubble-gum smelling (and if I’m rude slightly toilet-spray-esque.) Selling this on.
I have 100+ niche samples for swap within Europe – updated spreadsheet of samples on my profile, get in touch!

Super cute bottle. Unfortunately smells like bug spray with my skin chemistry 🙁 Glad I only bought the mini. Up for swap if anyone wants it.
UPDATE: Funny how smell changes! 2 years later I found this still full mini, tested it on my skin, and no longer detect the bug spray note. Instead smells fruity and a little spicy. I wouldn’t mind a big bottle of this!

I wish I had this one!!

  47. :

I also enjoy Marc J. Daisy. I am careful to apply less of Daisy because some swear they detect a hint of banana in the notes. So, I have switched to the very similar Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel, (which I love). I still wear Daisy on casual days. NOW ON TO Dot: Dot has a familiar department store fragrance base that comes through in the dry down. Many expensive design house fragrances have this base (Michael Kors, Early Calvin K. fragrances, etc,) You will smell clean and fresh with Dot because it is a safe, high end fragrance. However, even the safest fragrances become cloying when too much is applied. This fragrance, though clean, will smell like soap or fruity bubble bath if you wear too much.

  48. :

    5 out of 5

Though in general I like Marc Jacob’s perfumes I have a really big problem with how expensive his fragrances are as their longevity isn’t that great. I got a small tester from a friend and I have absolutely enjoyed the Dot but to think I would have to spend so much money for something that doesn’t have a great projection and doesn’t last long?! I don’t know maybe if you really really like it, why not but I am not gonna do that. Anyway Dot is very safe perfume to wear, tropical fruity, and on me is more warm than fresh so I would say is more appropriate for the winter time than summer, but I guess it all comes down to your skin chemistry.

  49. :

    3 out of 5

I thought this was going to be a love but it is “only” a like. I have always found dragonfruit to lack a bit in taste, so I cannot really detect that note in this perfume. It is not overly sweet, the coconut is not in your face, the white flowers somehow take center stage to my nose and the rest of the notes are the supporting cast. It’s nice and pleasing, but I was hoping for more.

  50. :

    5 out of 5

It’s a cross between Coach Poppy and Very Sexy by Victoria’s Secret. If you like those two, you’ll like this one. Great for fall/winter. The bottle is really cute, but the lid is BIG…so make sure you have plenty of room on your dresser for it!

Fragrance Review For Dot Marc Jacobs
Top Notes Honeysuckle Pitaya Red Berries
Middle Notes Jasmine Orange Blossom Coconut
Base Notes Drift Wood Vanilla Musk
I do like the unusual bottle. It looks like a hybrid insect like a cross between a lady bug and a butterfly. My 4 year old niece loves the bottle and is waiting for me to finish up the fragrance because she wants the bottle. She’s only 5 and enjoys collecting perfume bottles. This a berry scent, nothing impressive or complex but I’ve gone into a 360 direction and have gone from wearing amazing complex fragrances like Yves Saint Laurent Opium to sweeter fruity florals. This is a fruity floral vanilla plain and simple. But it does have some rather unique scents: pitaya. It’s a berry scent I’m mostly getting it at the opening. There is a little touch of honeysuckle. The floral aspects of the fragrance is mostly jasmine. The coconut mixed with honeysuckle give it a sweet sticky and watery sweetness that I like. Finally the sweetness dries down and becomes musk and vanilla. It has a moderate longevity and on me it was on for 5 or 6 hours. I like my fragrances to last much longer than that in fact all day but this is a party perfume. I think it’s very appropriate to wear not as an every day scent but as a fragrance to get people to wonder what is that honeysuckle I’m smelling type of scent on you. Very sweet, floral and vanillic. It has a festive air and innocence to it. Check it out ladies.

This is a nice perfume. I think it is a perfume that you can where just as an everyday, not doing anything really special that day kind of perfume. I don’t know about anyone else but it reminds me of Coach Poppy. It is girly and sweet. I also think the bottle is really cute. It doesn’t last super long on me but I still like it.

I am generally a fan of Marc Jacobs fragrances, and this is no exception. It is a very sweet scent on me. I do get much of the fruit notes, and it reminds me of fruit punch. A secondary note is definitely floral, as I get those too. I don’t get any vanilla at all. I wish I could see the bottle, but I bought a decant. I would pick up a bottle of this if discounted, but likely wouldn’t pay full price.

This perfume is in my top for sure , i get the most compliments when wearing it. in my opinion i believe that if people do a little research as to how to make a scent last longer or how to layer perfume then they wont have to be cryin over the fragrant disappearing, because wit or without layering it lasts so long, and when i say layer i dont mean spray the whole bottle on yourself, nor do i mean to buy the shower gel and lotion, (even though you should because its awesome) a few sprays at the right areas goes a long way for hours. or face it your body chemistry might just not work it as said by reviewer below me.

Delicious, this is the perfect mix of floral and gourmand. I get the lychee strongly, but also violets, and it is edible and sweet, but not in a candy way like pink sugar.
This is young and girly, the bottle is a big clue to that, fun and fruity, but sensible enough to not overdo it.
This is great for spring and summer, longevity isn’t super, ideally it would be more inexpensive.

I ordered Dot by Marc jacobs from Scent bird as a 15 $ sample. Im glad i didnt spend my hard earned money on this. Dont get me wrong, it smells wonderful, it just smells a little too much like coach Poppy, which happens to smell like Pink Sugar sensual, while that smells like Fantasy. What is up with all these perfume companies using the same scent over and over again. yes its a wonderful scent but there has to be more out there. I was hoping for something original. I might buy this again just because i like that Poppy/pink sugar sensual/fantasy smell. but i dont really need to buy this. since i already have the others. Oh well, maybe Honey by Marc jacobs will be different.

I received this perfume as a christmas present and it didn’t take me long to realize it was that kind of fragrance I have been looking for so long! Yet it got so many bad reviews…
Personally I think the bottle is cute, funny and it spreads joy standing on my night table.
When I sniff it I get fresh, berry, fruity and sweet notes all at the same time without smelling synthetic, overly sweet or like a fragrance for a 10 year old. It is just gorgeous!
I get it.. it is not the “I-never-smelled-something-like-this-before type of perfume”. But it makes me feel young, classy and irresistible at the same time.. and my boyfriend love it as well 😉

It’s pretty, but I would never pay that much for something that you can’t even smell if you don’t press your nose against your skin.

I have a mini of this. The bottle is super cute – clear with a small plastic lady bug on the lid. I prefer this style bottle to the larger ones, they seem so clunky to me and aren’t the most user friendly.
The scent is nondescript. Smells like sharp, cold melons and clean laundry. Low to average lasting power [2-4 hours], weak throw. I consider this to be a good ‘first perfume’ for a young girl, or a nice perfume to wear in an office where you either aren’t supposed to wear perfume/ are afraid to offend anyone. I personally like to dab on a small amount before bed, it is nice and fresh.
A good scent for when you just want to ‘smell nice’.

This was the first “expensive” perfume that I ever had, and I still love it. It introduced me to Marc Jacobs scents, which make up a large majority of my favorite perfumes (daisy and it’s variations are lovely). I got a smaller, less frou frou bottle, I believe it’s the 1.7 oz. The scent is wonderful if you like florals, but it doesn’t last at all. Within an hour of spraying it, not only can no one else smell it, even I can’t smell it. That’s the only real flaw, though.

I think I need to give it
