Description
In 2008 Reminiscence has presented the first two fragrances of its “Les Notes Gourmandes” collection – Do Re and Mi Fa. They are created by late Zoé Coste of Reminiscence and Jacques Flori of Robertet and represent the analogy of fragrant, gourmand and musical notes.
The first fragrance of the collection, Do Re, has heliotrope in centre, and the music around it is built of green fig aroma in the top, almond, cedar wood and Javan patchouli in the heart, and the fusion of velvety vanilla, Tonka bean Siam benzoin and sensual musk in the base. Do Re comes as EDT in a green 100ml (3.4 fl.oz.) bottle.
Do Re was created by Zoe Coste and Jacques Flori.

“A princess cake (prinsesstårta in Swedish) is a traditional Swedish layer cake or torte consisting of alternating layers of airy sponge cake, pastry cream, and a thick-domed layer of whipped cream. This is topped by marzipan, giving the cake a smooth rounded top. The marzipan overlay is usually green, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and often decorated with a pink marzipan rose.”
This fragrance is a slice of princess cake in the springtime at the funeral of that aunt who never liked you and I say this in the best way possible.

Mmmm, I smell like gourmand playdoh and I like it! That might sound bad, but I mean it: this is a very nice gourmand, cosy and sweet and perfect to combat the winter blues with, but not too overpowering or immature. It’s very well-balanced and comfortable, very wearable – just so well done all around, with excellent longevity and just the right amount of sillage. And the focus on almonds and heliotrope and the soft, smooth powdery quality of the scent do call playdoh to mind, at least the way it smelled when I was little in the late eighties and early nineties. That’s not a bad thing, though, to the contrary: it adds an extra nostalgic layer for me. I’m very glad to have this little gem in my fall and winter arsenal!

Coconut-almond-vanilla-powder. Really lovely, quite edible, more floral than woody but not much of either: the coconut and vanilla are dominant, but not like a cheap suntan lotion, oh no. This is very well made and blended, very pretty. Although soft, it lasts well and radiates very strongly – people all around me are smelling cake. It seems to please them! Recommended for gourmand lovers and fans of almond scents. 9/10 🙂

Now -who is playing hide and seek in the wrong bottle?
Just looking at the bottle makes you think of Disney princess bubblebath kind of smell.
no no This is dry earthy dusty strong liquorish like, patch heliotrope vanilla almond and musk.
From my point of view the bottle should have been hotter black like any other nighttime fragrance , cause thats what this is…
The closest thing I have ever smelled similar to this would be the papyrus patch vanilla smell from Fancy Nights – so you lovers of that one and Prada amber too would probably love this – But , Might be wrong ?
I like this and will use it sparingly sprayed for going out at night. will probably have to repaint the bottle to find it for the right occasion. lol
Try it if you love dark scents and I would also call this unisex …
Strange strong seductive ….and very powdery !
Update.. if the brands intension was to play with words they succeeded to match the name to the type of scent this is…as Do Re is the darkest notes on the scale of music too !

I agree this is a bit hard to describe, to my nose, it is definitely earthy, with the patchouli noticeable at first, I detect the fig also, it makes it really an intriguing scent, very unique smelling, with green nuances also, it isn’t strong per se nor is it delicate, the benzoin also makes a big impact, I don’t detect coconut in there, don’t think there is any, it isn’t sweet per say, for me it a smokey greenish earthy scent, intriguing, but not for me, a bit too dusty , too exotic/ smokey smelling and almost unisex.

Got a sample of this in Venice, Italy at the Reminiscence store. It is unique and smells perfect on my skin! It is hard to describe– a complex bitter almond, sandalwood, vanilla. It doesn’t smell too sweet on me, just a warm creamy yummy mysterious gourmand smell. I can’t detect any musk or patchouli on me, fortunately because I’m not a fan of those notes.
I bought a 100ML bottle:) Will repurchase when I run out but maybe I won’t have to because lasting power is great. One spray lasts from morning to night on me and stays on my clothes for days.. 🙂 Might make this my signature (winter) scent I love it so much hehe. Think it’s more of a cold weather scent.. I haven’t tried during the summer yet.

this is an amazing scent, i get, like others, coconut in the begining. I find it really special and unique, wich is something i didn’t expect from a gourmand fragrance… The only let down is the dry dowm, (after about 5 hours) it is a lot more common, less unusual. Still, I absolutely love it! It’s a must try.

At first it’s fresher because you can easily recognise the fruity side of the fig, then it gets warmer and warmer on the skin, it’s a complex smoky vanilla, bitter almond and tonka bean mix, similar to Dior Addict in my opinion. It’s very strong and long lasting, it’s still there even after a shower! Undoubtedly a very refined scent, its raw materials are sure high quality ingredients, not so easy to wear and more suitable for evening wear.

This is the best heliotrope+almond scent out there. It’s a bit darker and creamier than Etro Heliotrope. I just got it a few days back and I’m wearing it everyday coz I just can’t stop sniffin my wrist! Very addicting and I even got 3 compliments the first day I wore it. Very satisfied with this blind purchase.

This is a lovely fragrance. Sweet, warm, deep, but also can be worn on sunny days. And yes, the same as Wallie said before I also smell a very soft coconut coming through. I think it will be the vanilla. Beautifull fragrance, I think any woman of any age can wear this one and feel nice and comforting when wearing this. I find it an expensive perfume, which is a pitty, because this stopped me from buying. The bottle is also very nice. This is the best fragrance from the “do re mi fa so la si do” line for me.
batenov2011 – :
very unusual perfume…a lot of almonds,bitter-sweet,strong,creamy.
qwre – :
One of the most complex fragrance I ever smelled. A very sophisticated mix of warm notes that is pure magic with my skin. And I love how long stays on my clothes! Sweet with a bitter sparkle: a very chic enfant terrible.
myzikantos – :
I love it! Like pure pistachio with marzipan…sweet and yummy. It’s the most outstanding Reminiscence scent, to me. Very unique but expensive, as well 🙁
aihikiiciop – :
So very tasty a scent! The mysterious coconut comes foward immediately maybe it is the combo of bitter almond with tonka bean and vanilla= coconut? And like klonk said very gourmand scent. Interestingly enough the fig note comes out in the dry down as well as a tiny bit of musk. I only have a sample but I want this one so I will savor it. This is not your run of the mill vanilla scent. It is unique as all of the Reniniscence perfumes are.

Smelled this yesterday but found it way too sweet, at least on my skin. Wallie is right, I smelled coconut too! Absolutely a gourmand scent.
