To my nose this limited edition is more “mature” not to say old fashioned than the original.
It has less rose and less honey and it lost the grace and the flirty charm of the original.
It is still very close to the regular diva but not as good.

Smells vintage, but not in a bad old way it’s more light and honey smelling than most vintages.

I have had “Diva” the original in my collection for sevreal years now, i have read a lot about it but i have never worn it, even never smelled it. And just couple of days ago i have purchased a beautiful bottle of this partuclar limited edition “Diva”. I mostly fell for the beautiful bottle, the original one is very beautiful but this silver one is even more luxurious. So i thought: “why not to spend some extra money on a legendry fragrance in a beautiful bottle”. Well i was aware that the notes of this “silver Diva” are different from the original one. And since i like tuberose, it was not a problem for me. Let me just say that before i tried “silver Diva” i have finally worn original Diva both in original and modern EDP concentrations for several days, so i had a chance to compare this one to the original. Whenever there is a flanker available, you just can´t help but compare it to the original one so i had to do it. My review for original Diva will come later, i just want to start first with this one. After a several days of wearing “Silver Diva” here is what i got of it:
This “silver Diva” i would call a “Diva of the silver screen”. Let me explain why: original one is bright and a true Diva in her limelights, but this one is already a retired Diva. I am really surprised that this one was launched just recently, this smells to me all the way 1980´s !!! This is very politically uncorrect Diva, in time of global recession wearing fur stoles and her diamonds and using a personal driver. Her silver hair is always done, jewerly is on her fingers, good manners and you can see that this woman hasn´t lost her sparkle and class of the old days. She just got older, she´s not in a hurry anymore. She enjoys her life and often thinks back on her glorious days when millions of fans adored her, about her limelight then.
It opens up with a huge bouquet of tuberose, which is bit dusty (remeber this is an “eldery Lady Diva” after all). However it is not a loud tuberose, it is a soft one. That mandarine bitternes is just like a drop of hert drops she uses time after time (this is not a direct coamparision, just a methaphore).
Aaahhh… Ylang-ylang… the softer side of the Silver Diva. Beautiful, like the remains of her former beauty and graceful like she herself back in the days. It is just like a smile on her face when she thinks of her limelight back in the days and smiles to herself. Oh, memories, precious memories, just like the precious sandalwood in the base. Luxurious and beautiful rose and a bit of vanilla sound so wonderful, can´t you see a beautiful gown she is wearing? She is a retired Diva but no less of a lady after all.
I can´t help but to think that here is a civet note missing in the listing, i can smell something very animalic in here, very powerful! After all the original “Diva” has a very strong civet note. It just drives me mad, that animalistic undertone, this is my most favorite part in perfumes and i can smell it here. maybe it is just a combination of notes, but then it is a perfect combination. I am speechless! This is just like the reminder of the former power this Silver Diva had back in the days, when people around the globe were mad about her, this is an epitome of the power over people´s hearts and mind. Bravo!!!!
In general i find this perfume somehow nostalgic. It is a modern release, but as i have mentioned before seems like it is a blast from the past. I would call it a modern vintage. It reminds me a bit of “La nuit” by Paco Rabanne but only it´s animalistic part (my probably the most favorite animalistic perfume of them all, The Beast!). The tuberose part is like “Fracas” from Piguet (ok, maybe a “truth or dare” by Madonna as well, anyway they smell bit similar). The rose part is more like a “L´arte di Gucci” rose. And Ylang-ylang is from “Fragile EDP” by Gaultier. You see what a powerful perfume this “Silver Diva” is. But it is not everyone´s taste i must admit. Yesterday i recieved a negative comment from 2 women in the shop, commenting of an “awful fragrance that can kill rats and it has a very bold veil as well, shame on you young lady!”. I heard it behind my back, they spoke my native language and didn´t know probably i understand what they were talking about. At first i wanted to reply quite rudly, but then i remebered that today i am a Diva and a Lady after all, so suddenly i didn´t feel the need to justify at all! Most of the time i never do. There always be people who just envy Diva :)))
oh, and if you want to get the right impression of this fragrance don´t use it during the spring-summer, this is mostly a winter time fragrance, preferrably with a lot of snow and fur. This one requiers some luxury after all. I wore it with a fur and my diamond earrings and believe me, i felt like a true star.

Oh wauw, I am very curious about this one! I love Ungaro and I love Diva so it must be a wonderful perfume, not?
