Description

This perfume was introduced in 1993 in its floral fruity composition. The top notes bring grassy lemon freshness of lily of the valley, heliotrope, melon, galbanum and juicy peach. Rose, jasmine, rhubarb, ylang-ylang and spices make the heart very seductive. The base embraces with its milky warm sandalwood along with vetiver, amber and musk.

Back when the trio flankers were first launched, sapphires was my favorite. Emerald ok, and Ruby not so much.
I was into acquatics back then.
I have to say tjat today, the opposite is true. Sapphires is my least favorite of the three. I am trying to identify which note it is that is throwing things off for me, but can’t put my finger on it. Some sharp flower.
The great tjing is that it is a fruity floral that is not sweet or sickly. It really is fresh. And it doesn’t turn cloying latet either…which is a big plus compared to so many modern formulations.
I have to say…try them. They are worth every penny in terms of silage and longevity if they appeal to you…and the price they can be had at nowadays is fantastic.

This is definetly a grown up floral aquatic scent. There is no fruity/sweet/cocktail/girlyness in this perfume at all (thank God). The melon is there, but it is not the sweet, ripe melon scent, more of the fresh and cool type of melon. Very Nice.
    A bargain.

I’m not sure why I slept on Elizabeth Taylor’s fragrances, but I’m glad I’m discovering them now. So far I have Diamonds and Rubies, White Diamonds Luster, Sparkling White Diamonds, and now, Diamonds and Sapphires. This one surprised me. It actually is a good combination of fruit and floral. I typically hate fruity scents because they smell rotten on me after a while, but Diamonds and Sapphires smells divine on my skin and clothes! I think the melon in this really shines through and lasts for a while on my skin. It then dries down to a mild white flower scent with traces of melon and peach here and there. I think this is perfect for the daytime during the spring or summer when it isn’t smoldering hot out. I would say this is safe enough for the office too. Although the price is low, the quality is not. Smells much more expensive than it actually is. I have a set of the fragrant jewel collection coming so I will update my review of the parfum when it arrives.
Update: The parfum is actually better than the edt! I layered them yesterday (edt doesn’t last very long on me) and the scent lasted about 6 hours which is pretty good for me. I love fragrances that have longevity and this certainly does.

Wow! On the initial spray my first thought was ‘this is like sitting in the garden during late spring/ early summer’. It’s a beautiful, floral, oriental fragrance. The initial spray hits hard with the rose, which I like. It’s not too heavy with the Lily of the valley, which I’m grateful for as too much reminds me of air freshener. There’s a sharpness to it which makes it almost aquatic, which I find perfect for the warmer months. Longevity is moderate, a little less then Liz Taylor’s other fragrances, though I think that’s more to do with the fruits coming through once the florals calm down, making it smell subtly sweeter. Sillage is about arms length. Liz Taylor’s perfumes never fail to impress me.

melon, LOTV, dominate with freesia, rose, ylang, peach, rhubarb, galbanum, vetiver, musk and sandalwood supporting; love this one but set me to coughing; each flanker is so different from White Diamonds, distinct and lovely

I have never had any interest in any of Elizabeth Taylor’s perfumes, before now.
When they were released, I was a teenager and thought they were probably to mature for me at the time. And even a couple of years ago when I started on this perfume collection/appreciation/obsession..they were not high on my “try” list.
And at least in the instance of this gorgeous lady, I was so,so wrong.
In an earlier post in the forums, someone called this one a floral aquatic and I was intrigued. I looked it up in the index and didn’t see anything in the notes not to like and with the price I thought…”Why not??”
Simply put, this bottle of golden elixir brings to mind a floral heaven! I am in absolute LOVE!
I don’t really get anything super aquatic, but it is sweet, fruity and smells of lovely white flowers. It smells simple and luxurious all at the same time. Is that even possible? How could I have been so dismissive and wrong?
I have worn this for 5 days straight and that hasn’t happened in years, I am a “change my scent when I change my undies” type girl and I have only been doing the latter all week, because I cannot get enough of this gorgeous gal.
Now I must try them all!

This is why I’m loathe to start selling off my big old mishmash of a perfume collection!! Argh! It is also the reason I believe in dreams…
I hated this for such a long time. Melon and a slightly aquatic note…urgh. Not for me. It’s been on my ‘must ebay’ list for an age.
Then last night I dreamed about this. The name, not the smell. I woke up thinking ‘Diamonds and Sapphires!’ and decided to try it one last time tonight.
Well this is that one last night ..and unbelievably, I love it! How? Why? It may be the slightly better weather? (straw clutching). But it’s so lovely!
The melon is fresh but creamy. Possibly the only melon note I’ve ever appreciated. It’s fresh and zingy, yet thick and soothing. The LOTV creeps in quite late on in a most tantilising way.
Love it. Beauiful, summer nights fragrance.
Hands off eBay! And thank you, my imagination x

Diamonds and Sapphires, I truly like this. It has an early 90’s vibe, it does remind me slightly of EA Sunflowers in its melon/citrus/peach/floral top and middle. To me it smells much more grown up, I think because Sunflowers was well worn by young girls in my Middle School years, although I never wore it unless I snuck a spray from a friend because it was pricier than something my Mom would have been willing to purchase for me at that time, also I don’t think she preferred it.
It is fruity with the melon/peach/apricot/rhubarb tang, but not overly so as the florals blend in well. At first it comes off as a little sickly sweet, but with all those florals in full bloom, and the fruits, its bound to be. I think the vetiver, galbanum, spice and rhubarb save it. The greenery really keeps it grounded. Give it about 5 minutes and that pervasive floral sweetness is tempered.
I sometimes smell this almost watermelon smell after it rains in the summertime, with all that green vegetation, ozone and humidity thick in the air with whatever flowers are in bloom. Its not so much a watermelon smell as it is a taste to you take in from the air. This fragrance reminds me of that. Its green like grass and greenery from flowers, its white floral, its blue like the sky with big fluffy clouds. I think 1993’s perfume designers were trying to capture the outdoors and bottle it for us to wear. They were blending fruits and florals together, but it was early on so it was more nature than the fruit salad of perfume released today. I notice some other reviews got the aquatic vibe from it as well.
Its like Ms. Taylor wanted the sunshine, blue skies, lush greens, and aquatic florals of her beautiful gardens bottled up for us. Truly a fragrant sky blue gem. You can pick up a 3.3oz for under $15 at TJMaxx, well worth a shot and if you don’t prefer it swap or gift to a friend.

I was a teenager when this fragrance was launched. I remember the scent strip in Vogue and the full 4-6 page ad. Ahhh… The good old glamorous early 90’s… Where has the scent strip gone to and 6-page ads? It’s astronomical nowadays dahlings…
Anyways, this scent is a gem, however, it can smell dated. So what I do, I spray it into the air and walk through the mist. I find it smells softer this way and the melon top note lingers. Elizabeth Taylor’s fragrances always, always smell expensive, but only if we use it subtly.

ok so out of the 3 this is probably my least favorite, I’m not saying it is a bad fragrance at all. It’s just it’s not my style. Rubies is more of my statement kind of scent. Emeralds is ok, it’s a nice fresh green fragrance with some of my favorite flowers. Sapphires is weird to me. It starts off with a melon note that is delicious but then something happens throughout the development with my chemistry that I don’t like as much as the other two. Maybe if I try this in the summer time it will be better since I feel that is when it would be best suited for. The scent is moderate as terms as how long it stays on. Still get a great deal with what you pay for it which is like 12 bucks at burlington. I like it but don’t love it.

Reviewing, yet again, just the parfum. Although, my opinions on the eau de toilettes might also sneak in accidentally (they always do with the fragrant jewels)
The parfum is a strong, elegant and ever so aquatic interpretation of the melon/LotV scent that many brands have created and done exceptionally well with. The eau de toilette, to me, at least, is a synthetic mess that I can’t begin to understand. This is probably just an issue for me as I grew up around only the parfum. Even though, to the best of my knowledge, the vintage EDTs were much better than the current ones (which I’ve smelt)
In a way, this reminds me of a mildly herbaceous version of Diorissimo with a few good mosses for good measure. It hits many of the notes to be a modern chypre, but there’s way too much going on in here to truly restrict it to just one label. It’s a fruity, watery, ozonic, spicy, mossy, floral … something. The peach, melon, oakmoss, jasmine and salty water seem to shine through. It’s way too complicated to analyse by discussing notes. This one seems to be the best vision in Elizabeth Taylor’s fun personality. Quirky, but also with a bit of Coco Chanel in there. So stunning

Like the other fragrances in her “Fragrant Jewels” collection, Diamonds & Sapphires is a rich, classic and elegant floral composition; the difference with D&S is that it is sweetened with precisely the perfect fruity element, which is invitingly fruit-juicy sweet.
What ET’s D&S is: floral, rich, heady, fruity, complex, gorgeous, delicate, feminine, regal
This beautiful fragrance is the literal antithesis of anything: harsh, screeching, ‘cheap’, (fill in any negative adjective of choice here).
Chances are that if you like: White Diamonds, Diamonds & Rubies, Diamonds & Emeralds; Karl Lagerfeld’s Sun Moon Stars; Nicole Miller Nicole Miller, or Calvin Klein’s Eternity (for her), you will more than likely appreciate this fragrance as well.
The moderate to huge sillage and multiple-hours-long longevity can’t be denied, even by the haters.
This is a solid 7 of ten for me personally, but everyone’s different.

White Diamonds = Strong indescribable power house smell. Like somebody has tripped up and spilt several perfumes and mixed them up. It doesn’t sit well as any specific perfume smell.
Diamonds and Emeralds = Very different to anything else and nice. Same with Diamonds and Rubies.
Diamonds and Sapphire = Strong Issey Miyake, type of smell. Cant smell melon. Starts out lily of the Valley, then strong Issey Miyake and at the end has a really weird twang to it like it is going off slightly or you bought a very cheap fake version of I M. Bit disinfectant smelling.
Shame, I was hoping it was going to be as different as Emeralds and Rubies…..

While I love all of Elizabeth Taylor’s Diamonds and series, Diamonds amd Sapphires moght be my favorite.
It is early August, and the temperature here is well into the 100’s, and this is gorgeous! A rich, lush white floral very alightly sweetened with melon amd rounded out by a delicate musk and ylang.
D&S is not as sweet to my nose as Diamonds and Emeralds amd not as nearly as spicy as Diamonds amd Rubies. Someone below mentioned a 90s-shampoo vibe, and yes, I caan agree, but more perfume-y.
The LOTV is not sharp in this.It is a very gentle perfume but it has great sillage and moderate longevity. Truly a beautiful scent!

This is the sharpest and most LONG lasting of the “Diamonds and _______” series.
It’s the most “oriental” as well. Upon first smelling this – you MAY get that “Oh I’ve smelled this many times before” feeling– nevertheless…….
As with all Liz Taylor’s fragrances: Smells MORE EXPENSIVE than it really is (and really- you can buy these for the price of dinner for 2 at McDonalds)
    BIG 3.4 oz bottle too!
    ALWAYS at T.J. RossMarshalls everyday!!!!!

Totally agree with TsarinaM below – on me this is also musk and a very realistic melon. Come to think about it – this is the truest melon note I’ve ever encountered so far! On my skin this has not so much to do with the trio (Sunflowers, Escape and l’eau d’issey). It mingles in the same category, possibly.
After the first burst of musk and melon has settled, D&S becomes greener and I get a soapy LOTV note. The rhubarb probably adds the slight tartness and the spices and Ylang-Ylang also shine through, slowly. Must give this one a full wear to learn more but so far this is a pleasant experience. This line of fragrances is really worth a try!
Update after 3h on my skin: Very powdery LOTV centered fragrance, totally not what I was expecting. Slightly spicy.

My kids convinced me to get this the other day as they are aware of my collection.
So I did, and it is melon, expensive musk with fresh melon.
    It did last all day!
    God Bless!

Diamonds & Sapphires By Liz Taylor
I was enchanted with this perfume. My grand daughter who happened to read my Facebook post and photo of Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds decided to save her money from her paper route and gifted me this priceless perfume. I was aware that Elizabeth Taylor had a Fragrant Jewels collection in the 90’s but I never had the time to collect them all. This is my second fragrance in the Jewels line. I have Diamonds And Rubies which is an exceptional, magnificent piece of perfumery, in fact my favorite all time Liz Taylor perfume. But although this one doesn’t come close and there is no nose credited, it’s still such a beautiful scent. Right off the spray bottle, I thought it was a summer time fragrance. It smells very fruity with more fruit than floral body. It has a sweet but mature peach and melon. This is not the kind of melon you get in something of a watermelon note, an it’s like a candy with melon scent. The sweetness and ripe fruit smell is like a shampoo for your hair that smells of those fruit notes. I’m talking about Garnier Fructis. This has a delicious absolutely gorgeous melon note that makes it stand out amongst other fruity fragrances. I spray it behind my ears where the scent can cling to my hair and makes my hair smell great. I wish there was a hair spray that smelled exactly like this.
The rest of the notes are beautiful too. I detected a little of everything: freesia, rose, ylang ylang, jasmine, a lily of the valley, complete with bushes and spices of rhubarb to keep this from ever being simplistic florals. This is a spicy floral scent, and it does have a superior projection and sillage, typical of Elizabeth Taylor’s fragrances. This is almost but not quite a Rumba by Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent’s Champagne Yvresse. It has less fruit than those 2 frags but the melon and peach are enough to scratch my fruit itch. The lily of the valley and freesia white floral scents are green and aromatic. It’s fresh the whole time. Sparkling. It’s like a cocktail in the summer.
When dry, I pick up on the scent of vetiver, another green theme note, some musk, sandalwood and amber. These deeper more complex notes give it a longer life and a mature and glamorous aura. That amber! Oh and that sandalwood. This is polished and elegant as it dries down to pure unadulterated fragrant glorious sandalwood. This is heavenly. Oh God I am so happy I have a sense of smell.
I can see why they call it Sapphires, but I was expecting bluer more aquatic notes to represent the blue sapphire glow. This is more like an emerald so I wonder if Diamonds & Emeralds are not going to smell as green. I placed my purchase for Diamonds & Emeralds and can’t wait to try it on. This is a lovely scent. All the reviews attest to its superior quality. Yes it is a cheaply priced perfume but trust me the fragrance itself is fabulous and luxurious. This is true of so many of Elizabeth Taylor’s fragrances. I have both the spray bottle which is the Eau de Toilette and the mini dab on bottle which is the heavier concentrated parfum. Both smell so beautiful. Could it get any better ? Let’s find out.

This perfume smells divine on me! yeah! The main dominant note is Lilly-of-the-valley, and it is mellowed out with the melon, rhubarb, and spices; and all the the other notes work so well together. Another success with ET perfume! I had shied away from trying any ET perfume until this last week, and I am blown away by the quality! They are not old lady like at all. This lady knew what she was doing!

I received this from my aunt some years ago and am down to the last few sprays of the 50ml bottle. I honestly really didn’t appreciate it, so it just sat ignored until this morning when I grabbed the bottle and thought this will do.
It’s clean, fresh, spicy, floral and kinda wakes me up! It’s synthetic but not offensive, but it definitely needs respraying or wearing under clothes to get that longevity.
It’s not totally me in all honesty as I’m more of an aquatic or oriental type but it doesn’t break the bank and makes a nice uplifting change.

I find this fragrance is enhanced by layering it with Elizabeth Taylor sparkling white diamonds. The two fragrances combined create a fresh airy clean white floral scent that is perfect for spring and summer. Odd thing is when I wear these two fragrances separately I’m less impressed by either one. What I do love about all of Liz ‘ s fragrances is that they have great sillage and smell expensive. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

Oh! This is lovely! Something as desirable (to me!) as a fruity and sweet and green floral! I so often miss tartness in fragrances that are sweet and I want both. This has both. The tartness is rounded, though, and the green aspect of it is not sharp in the least. Soft lily of the valley (LOTV often gets screechy, but not here) that is mellowed to bright, but soft by the melon, peach and the yang-ylang. The melon is NOT the aquatic cucumber/calone style, but rather like a fragrant cantaloupe, the peach is not cloying (I often feel that peach gets a little “pond-watery”) and both of these mixes beautifully with the tart rhubarb. This is definitely a great sweet-tart-green-fruity balance with the rose/jasmin/ylang combo constantly dancing in the background and it manages to be fresh, sensual and interesting at the same time. It´s definitely easy to like without being trite. It gets ambery in a drier way after a while and softly woody. I could see myself wearing this quite often. Listen, don´t think that this one is in any way out-dated- it could easily be a modern day Versace or or Gucci. Only thing is this one is more interesting than mentioned brands have been lately…

On me this smells like a pleasant but soapy eau de cologne. It starts off very fresh and green smelling but turns pleasantly soapy in about half an hour. Good sillage, I can smell it about 6 hours later. It’s light and inoffensive so if you find it at a good price, try in and see if it’s right for you.

  24. :

This perfume is not really a fruity- floral, rather a green floral: grassy, spicy. Jasmine, ylang-ylang, galbanum and vetiver stand out from the rich symphony of different accords here creating such a warm, animalistic vibe -reminiscent of Serge Lutens’ “A La Nuit”- just less jasminey, indeed. Down to earth Beauty, a little powdery, dry and bitter in the drydown.
But what a splendour! Reflecting, wistful, all-encompassing Femininity.
Hauntingly Yours or yours hauntingly, Elizabeth.

I recently bought a little coffret of the 4 Diamonds & Jewels fragrances as parfum minis to test, and I have to say, Boudoir’s thoughts on Diamonds and Sapphires below pretty much sums up my thoughts on it as well.

  26. :

My least favourite of Elizabeth Taylor’s Diamonds collection.
This is pure dewy cantaloupe with a nuance of rotten fruit accompanied by sickly fresh lily-of-the-valley and freesia. I’m not a fan of melon in perfumery and this fragrance isn’t entirely awful, but I am certain that anyone wearing a heavy-handed application of this would induce an instant migraine and nausea.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

This is simply a phenomenal dewy green, slightly tart, fruity floral that smells fresh and sophisticated.
This is also the perfume that made me understand melon. It’s not watermelon, but a lovely ripe and juicy canteloup that gives the perfume a moist and mouthwatering opening.
There are notes that reminds me of wet, freshly cut grass in here, and delicate white flowers (lily and lily of the valley) that makes it smell both fresh and elegant in an almost melancholic way.
When the melon steps back a surprisingly beautiful green, tart and juicy rhubarb note appears and keeps the scent interesting and slightly edible.
This is spring in a bottle. Green and breezy with a somewhat cool and refreshing vibe. Gorgeous!
Sillage starts off moderate on me, and dries down to soft. Longevity is very good for a fruity scent. On me it lasts 6-8 hours.

A classy fruity floral that smells nothing like the fruity florals selling today. Don’t dismiss the Elizabeth Taylor fragrances as “for old women”. Shut up. This can be appreciated loved and worn by any girl or woman of any age who has what Liz Taylor had – good taste. Starts off very fruity with peach and melon scents. It would appear that peach was Liz Taylor’s favorite fruit because that note seems to come up a lot in her other fragrances most noticeably Black Pearls. Ylang Ylang is the dominant flower in this perfume and it’s lovely. Jasmines and roses also stand out. There is also a spiciness to this fragrance. Amber base keeps it clean in the dry down a bit like a luxurious soap. I have all the Fragrant Jewels and love them. At such an affordable price on Amazon.com and ebay, you’re in for a treat. This is so beautiful. I’ll review the other Jewels later in the week.

Why do I always discover perfumes after they’re discontinued? At least I could pick up a big bottle cheap! Thank you to my toddler, who spotted the sparkly bottle (which I love, reminds me of the American soaps my Nanna used to watch) and wanted me to try it.
Just a lovely airy scent, sweetened with peach, dried a little with musk and sandalwood, with melon and lily of the valley floating above. Fresh without being sharp, floral without being overwhelming, fruity without being overly sweet. Ladylike, in effect.
I feel like I’ve got a treasure I will happily wear over and over for pocket money.

Held off on this review and glad I did. Couldn’t get into the melon. Thought save it until summer. However, gave it another try last night. Wearing it again this morning. Some fragrances need to be appreciated over time. Sometimes certain notes may take time for my range to widen enough to accept and enjoy them. The melon ‘suddenly’ became much more what I imagine Elizabeth Taylor intended. Refreshing and just a bit sweet. Lovely floral fruity. One of her few that could be used any time of year. Indeed, love her heavy fumes but this lighter one is a welcome change. Now my nose finds the melon in harmony with all the other notes instead of in contrast to them. yay.

Beautiful Aquatic Floral with melon. It reminds me of a combination of Cantaloupe & Galia melon. Elegant & Clean smelling without being soapy or Laundry-like. Great projection & lasts long on me. Another hit from Elizabeth Taylor. Lots of great finds with really affordable pricing.
Similar to L’eau d’Issey, Escape & Spelndor. Not exact, but in the same family. You can smell the melon more in this. If you like those you should like this one as well. I’ve always loved these type of fragrances. Reminds me of back in the day in Miami.

I had this for years before I wore it. I think that the packaging made me think of it as a night time, going out sort of perfume, or an older lady perfume. And the first notes of it are quite a hit! As I have 3 kids now so there is no such thing as going out at night anymore. Anyway, tried it again and I find I really enjoy it as a day perfume. On me, the white floral notes really come through, and has great longevity.

Wore this during my younger years when everyone had on giorgio. Have always gotten tons of compliments on it when I wear it although now its on my bottom shelf. I should wear it more often. I love the melon undertones and I think its really an elegant foral on top. One man told me “this is how a woman should smell”.

  34. :

A melon bomb which starts off reminding me of EA Sunflowers but then turns into Ck Escape. Not what I expected when I blind bought it but at €19 not a disaster in financial terms. If you like fruity fragrances then give this a try, good sillage and longevity, better than a lot of more expensive perfumes on the market.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Since melon and freesia both go sour on me, Diamonds and Sapphires is hardly my fragrance of choice. I can distinctly smell something here that reminds me of the dreaded ‘calone’ aromachemical used in so many 90’s releases. Dreadful ON me!
That said, you really could do worse than this pretty release. 🙂 I consider Diamonds and Sapphires to be an excellent choice, provided this variety of Grown Up Fruity Floral appeals to your taste. Don’t underestimate the aquatic vibes, which are prevalent throughout, and may well contribute to the long lasting melon note. It reminds me of picnics and summer fun. I really see this as a fine choice for certain chemistries such as Ms Taylor’s!
    To sum up:
I’d enjoy smelling D and S on someone else (!), and am very thankful for the kindness of a Fragrantica Friend who allowed me to test hers. Great longevity, sillage, and value. In other words, Drugstore Classic’s approved! 😀

I saw this on the shelf on my way out the door this morning, and, on a whim, realized I had not tried it in years. I gave a quick blast, and ran out the door…I few moments later, I was floored. The quality of the perfume far exceeded what I had remembered. The Galbanum, in the top of all places, tames the aldehydes and gives the Melon something to grab onto.
To be sure I wasn’t crazy, I went back to retest. What I discovered is that the first 2 minutes can be almost unbearable- a weird synthetic Lily strapped onto Aldehydes at 200mph…but hold on, this transitions out very quickly. By minute 3 you are on a velvet blanket of Galbanum and juicy fruits. This phase is absolutely beautiful, and with none of the “rotten fruit” notes that can occur when using Melon in a heavy composition. The Galbanum is top notch quality, at least in my vintage bottle of edt. (My guess is they switched to something cheaper after the launch, but that’s another day!) At minute 5, in come tangy spices, and finally we sense the spectre of original White Diamonds. At 10, this perfume is the perfect melange of spices, fruits, and resin. The florals play second fiddle, but the Rose and the Ylang are tenacuious enough to peek through. There is also a waft of Night Blooming Lily, but the deep indolic kind, not the cited LOV note. This phase lasts for quite a long time, nearly an hour, during which time I can’t resist smelling my arm over & over! The drydown is indeed as stated- Sandal, Musk, and Vetiver.
All in all, this is a perfume with a lot of presence. Even in the EDT it has excellent longevity and sillage. I tested on a perfect September day- warm, dry, and breezy. I can also see wearing this in the winter, but I fear that humidity might create a cloying effect, and therefore, I would use it with caution in the spring and summer.

I get a mix between fruity and green…love it! Very fresh and pretty! No need to wait till you’re “old” to wear it! Great scent for any age! I only wish the scent lasted longer. Gone within an hour of spraying on 4 or 5 good spritzes.

This was the only perfume from the Diamonds line that actually agreed with my body chemistry. It is a very light, barely-there fruity scent which is very wearable during daytime for pretty much any occasion. The vetiver wasn’t noticeable to me (which is a good thing imo) and the main notes that stood throughout were lily of the valley, peach and rose. It is as pleasant, sweet, fresh and as appetizing as breakfast in bed.

This is one of the fragrances I really hate, on me or on almost anybody else…sillage monster. The fact that I worked in a nursing home and half the residents wore this did not help. They were sweet old ladies and everything but I cannot stand this smell. It almost brings on a panic attack.

I had this on order as a blind buy but changed it to Emeralds after reading the reviews. I really don’t need two Elizabeth Taylor’s in my collection but I’m tempted after smelling both today. At first this reminded me of something I used to wear (Calvin Klein Eternity maybe?) not in an exact replica kind of way, just a similarity. I sprayed it hours ago and I can still smell it – YUM!

Another green that I can wear without it turning into sour sweat on me.. I normally stay away from green but this is a melon green, not a leaf or grass green..
I mainly get an aquatic melon with jasmine and lily of valley.. the peach, rose, sandalwood and other florals lay quietly in the background. I get a hint of the rhubarb but I’m not finding spices or vetivier in it.
Sillage is good but I’ve only been wearing for an hour so unsure of longivity yet.
I really like it and can see me wearing it in the hotter months.

This is my favorite out of all of the Diamonds line.
It’s fresh, floral, and sweet in a natural way. The melon and jasmine notes blend together to form one nice, aquatic, flower accord…then the freesia/rose combination sits well on the skin, and is very fresh and peppery.
More than anything, I smell a heavy lily-of-the-valley note: delicate, lady-like, classy, and very “white” in terms of smell-color relation.
All in all, this is a very fresh floral fragrance that won’t offend. It’s easily the most wearable of the entire Diamonds line. It’s nothing like White Diamonds, so don’t let the associate scare you from trying this beauty!

Nothing special. Does not project much. Longevity is about 2 to 3 hours. Be careful as Diamonds and Sapphires stains clothing severely.

This one is lke Brilliant Diamonds(my favorite Taylor scent)and Calvin Klein Eternity. OK, but not great. More interesting than Splendor.
UPDATE: I find that this rosey fragrance dries down to the same scent as Hennaluscent haircolor!

EdT. Wonderful scent. Opens a bit spicy with modern flower and non-sweet fruity notes. Great to wear every-day or to party. Very female’ish in a grown-up way. No sugarsweet or fruitysweet notes. Deep, and a bit dark flowers. I find it very modern and timeless. The Lily-on-the-valley is not dominant, that is good in my opinion. longlasting on my skin.
EdT.
