what I get out of this extraordinary perfume at first is the unmistakable trail of clove-oil. it is not only in your face (and I used the tiniest dab) but also roomfilling. it isn’t also a monodimensional scent, already not from the start. It is this sharp but in its tropicality also justified pique of such vegetative scented jewel: clove. it is in constant flux and I actually get images of that clove-oil but also slowly of flowers, these kind of peppery, heady flowers like tigerlily and tuberose. yet with the relentless opening upon opening of this spice, a carnation also comes unto the fore. I get reminiscence with Serge Lutens’ Vitriol d’Oeillet and Tubéreuse Criminelle. because there is definitely a fattiness here, as rather in VdOE and an indolic quality as in TC. then after hours, when this perfume is somewhat easing out, my most prominent impression is that of a lily, yet the perfume doesn’t exclude tuberose and carnation neither, as there are even roses palpable in the long, long drydown.

A unapologetic and unadulterated peppery punch of the trademark carnation/clove aiming straight for the jugular; literally explodes on skin.
Clear cut and translucent; very aggressive yet controlled; both hard and soft, hot and cold. Always in liquid motion, moving fast. Blazing a trail of fire with softer, gentle white flowers following right behind on a woody and leathery base.
An extraordinary scent in every way. Things like projection (moderate) or longevity (strong) do not even really matter (I guess those can be boosted by spraying vs dabbing). Sometimes I just sneak up to that little bottle in its super soft pouch just to steal a quick impression.

My favourite perfume of all time. This is the perfect carnation scent. The description above of woody-spicy does not do it justice. This is spicy in the way that carnations are peppery – no curry or cumin notes here. The result is crystal bright and pure and totally delicious. Unfortunately, a full bottle is not in my future, because the price is obscene.
