Sharply green and yet sweet, this is a wonderful scent by Yves Rocher. It dries down quickly into an unusual note. I don’t get any mint or juniper but there’s a soothing note. I don’t know what to call it but I’ve smelled it before. Almost powdery, a bit floral, maybe a hint of musk? A better nose than mine is needed to suss it out.
Like some YR fragrances, Desir flattens out quickly and sinks into the skin. I have to amend this review: Desir is long lived. The scent doesn’t project much but it does stick around without changing much.
DdN is an unusual scent, but I like it very much. Hopefully the large bottle I’ve ordered will be as great as the micro mini I already have. Speaking of the bottle: the leaf design is pretty and well chosen for the scent. This feminine fragrance is perfect for every day use.
Here’s an interesting addition to my review: the edt is quite a bit different than whatever is in the small bottle I tested. Maybe it’s an edp or even the pure perfume, the edt is fresher and somewhat similar to Cabotine by Gres. Which isn’t a bad thing – I like Cabotine – but the edt lacks the rich smoothness I love so much in the sample.

a very green, sharp, dry, lily of the valley with some oakmoss that tempers it but this isn’t a typical mossy chypre; it just balances the sweetness of a LOTV; in the total drydown and base is civet. Musk is not listed as a note but it is there!

This is one of my favorites. It is one of the few florals that does not come off harsh and screechy on my skin. I don’t find that it matches it’s description at all, though. It is sweet, but not cloying, and has a flowery freshness throughout that reminds me of shampoos from the 70s or 80s. It isn’t exactly a warm scent, but I am having a hard time finding the right description for a strong floral fragrance that is not high-pitched and bright. The green background scent is slightly sweet and soft as well, and is barely perceptible to my nose, and I don’t smell anything woody at all.
I love it, and you can’t beat the price.

I´m looking for a perfume, which I got 20 years ago, had similar bottle, but it was wide the same at the top and lower, and the cap was turquoise. The fragrnce was sweet, and I think the letters on the bottle where golden.

The right parfum for a woman to wear in a spring motning, innocent and lovely, very femenine and floral, green with a lot of flower tones although fades away too soon, anyway, for such a cheap price you cannot ask for more

This is giving me a headache. Sharp opening and then strong artificial greens and florals.. not my cup of tea. In my head this makes the perfect old lady perfume.. it’s just too old fashioned and boring in a way. Something annoying about it, not sure what it is.. I don’t know..

It’s not bad at all, but I am not gonna purchase it. First of all the opening is sharper than I can tolerate and the first 10 mins. the smell resembles soap, but nicely scented. However that’s not the effect I am searching for. The notes are not balanced equally and the oakmoss and mint are overpowering with a combination of synthetic lily of the valley And last, but not least the longevity is very poor – after two hours, I can barely smell anything from the testing card.

this is simply Nature, not desir, the one listened in fragantica as nature YR is the old one, current nature, without the desir on, is that one

I’m having an interesting experience with this. I’m not getting much ‘green’ from it, more of a powdery sweetness with a light woody note. I bought it blind based on reviews and it was quite inexpensive. Okay, I thought, its pretty but a little boring – I’ll wear it once in awhile or maybe swap it. BUT, I also bought the body lotion which was also inexpensive and tried that – what a difference! I got all the green citrusy notes as well as the clean florals. I’ll definitely be wearing them together. Quite amazing!

smells like the kind of soap that I like. nice purchase, worth it.

It’s a casual fragrance, light and transparent. On normal pale skin it turns into fresh lily of the valley with a light touch of mossy and citrus notes.
In the beginning I clearly feel some balmy notes, reminding me of some Indian incense. I guess it’s a combination of juniper and oakmoss. Then a mild lily of the valley comes to scene. This fragrance is calm and will not dominate over its owner.
    ps.
In some regions there is a confusion with names and bottle design between “Desir de Nature” and “Nature”. In Lithuanian shops of Yves Rocher “Desir de Nature” comes in the bottle, pictured above, but under the name of “Nature”. The notes of this “Nature” are clearly identical to “Desir de Nature”.

This is a very green, mossy LOV scent. The oakmoss is quite prominent, its almost chypre level here. The lily of the valley is natural and true, much like Jessica McClintock without the other white florals. The juniper and mint are not strong but good accents — they’re unusual enough to make this interesting. It’s a very pure scent — I like Jessica McClintock but it has many more notes and can get a bit crowded in olfactory sense. This is a simpler composition. This is great for spring — like sitting by a misty lake just as its starting to get warm.

Very feminine and floral. Quite earthy smelling. I didn’t like it that much but always remember my mum wearing it alot, which is the main reason why I think of it fondly.

If you were wearing something like TM Angel or CD Addict all winter long, this can actually be a relief perfume before moving on to something more special for the summer days. It is veeeeeeeeeeeery pleasant and innocent and kind: if perfumes were flowers, this one would be a daisy. It sort of gives your olfactory senses a break and takes no effort to wear, especially that it doesn’t last that long. I would not buy this again – I rarely repurchase perfumes and this is by far not in the contestants’ row for the comeback on my dresser. But if you just don’t know what to wear next and haven’t found a spring/summer scent, are in desperate need thereof to have something on while you are searching for your warm season HG – go for it: it’s a steal anyway.

I have the EDT and the most prominent note that I smell (even if not listed)is narcissus. I’d say the scent is a yellow-green not white-green (considering the LOV in the notes). Which makes the color of the box perfect.

The discussion boards are interesting and a bit disconcerting to me on this one. I like the scent but I’m finding very little green; the green I do find has no sharpness at all, which to me is almost a requirement for a scent to be “green”. Lots of lily of the valley, a sweet note that I would describe as hay but nothing that makes the eyes water a bit or makes me narrow my eyes. If you’re looking for a floral that isn’t white and smells more like flowers in the woods or a meadow than a garden I’d recommend this highly but I’d call it “floral” alone. BTW, this would be wonderful on a man.
    Sillage: personal 1-2 ft
    Duration: 3-4 hours so far
Fabulosity: a fist full of daisies
    Value to price ratio: Reasonable

The most floral fragrance in my ‘arsenal’, this has been reliably good. Feminine without being too frilly.

I have bought this yesterday because i’m suspecting YR to discontinue it soon since it’s been around for a while and because i had a -50% discount . Plus my mother who passed away had it nearly 20 years ago , so for the sake of the old times i wanted to have it.
I really don’t get any sweet note in this scent in any way ! O_o I don’t know where people do find them … It’s like freshly cut grass and a LOT of lily of the valley , very fresh green and crispy , great for hot days .

A very gentle, feminine floral, tempered by a suggestion of green notes, awakening feelings of anticipation in the piercing spring light.

This was the perfume I transitioned to after Neblina was discontinued. Very light green, fresh scent – still one of my favs from YR. Perfect compliment to spring / summer outdoors time!

Actual notes according to the Yves Rocher website:
    Olfactive Family: Green Floral.
Head Notes: Mandarin, Crushed Mint Leaves.
    Mid Notes: Headspace Daphne, Lily-of-the-Valley.
    Base Note: Cedar.
This is an extremely green fragrance. I am undecided if I like it or not. i believe that I may appreciate it more in the springtime.
Update: I rec’d a mini of Desir de nature EDP from twilliocks (*thanks*) and i must say…the original EDP is much better, still prominent lily-of-the-valley, but a bit sweeter and less astringent than this EDT version.

I love this. I wore it years ago when I started dating my husband. Then I lost it and I could not for the life of me remember where i purchased it. Finally . . . Now I have a BIG bottle Love it and it brings back memories.

I am a guy and I owned this when I collected all things YR. I have since gifted the three piece set to a friend of mine and now wear the mens version Homme Nature; one of the greenest scents I’ve ever smelled, which actually pairs quite nicely with this one.
If GREEN is your scene check this power couple out, DdN is great don’t get me wrong its just a bit feminine…even for moi.

I enjoyed this fresh, earthy perfume on me, and my sister loved it as well. However, my male friends thought it smelled ‘old and dirty’, and my boyfriend compared it to dish soap. So maybe it’s more of a casual scent rather than something for a night on the town.

I received this as a gift a long, long time ago – 100 ml. I still enjoy this immensely. I only wear this every now and then, and keep it in its original box in a cool/dark place. This perfume is connected to a lot of my memories. It’s definitely a summer perfume more then anything else, and is best to be worn on the hottest days.
For me, it’s one of those cooling frags that i like to wear in the summer in order to “mentally” cool my senses and as barbiot35 mentioned, it DOES strongly refreshes the mood. Almost like wearing a personal air-conditioner wherever you go! I guess the Mint does the trick for that effect. 😉
Despite it being more of a summery perfume, i do wear it throughout the year, every once in a while, when i am in the mood of course.
On my skin, it starts a little harshly green, but then fades into a really pleasant sweet and slightly green scent that lingers gently. I must admit, it does put me in a good mood when i wear it, and it also has a bit of that relaxing factor.
The only thing i don’t like is the slightly new design of the bottle/cap… I like the old, more organic design, from the mid 1990s.
