Eudora Eau de Parfum was launched in 2011, while its first flanker appeared in 2014 under the name Deluxe Edition. In August 2017, both fragrances underwent a process of repackaging. The new packaging was produced in partnership with Centdegrés and the colors were maintained, respecting the existing visual identity.
The concept of Eudora Deluxe Edition speaks of powerful women and brings, as main notes, orange flower, violet, and apricot, in addition to some woods and amber. However, some people say that they smell pineapple in this fragrance, “strange as it may seem”.
Well, I bring some truth: if you are one of these women who has already felt pineapple in this fragrance, rest assured that there is nothing strange about your sense of smell. Quite the opposite!
The official composition lists notes of lemon, bergamot, mandarin, black pepper, apple, pineapple and cassis, in the head. Next, we have orange blossom, pink pepper, violet, apricot and Eudora’s secret accord. In the base of the pyramid, notes of patchouli, tonka bean, sandalwood, amber, maltol and milky notes.
On the skin, Eudora Deluxe revives the classic style of some perfumes from the eighties/nineties. Although classified as an oriental-woody fragrance, it carries many nuances of the vintage chypres (quite different from the so-called chypres of the current market), not to mention the strong fruity content.
The apricot is, indeed, one of the most dominant notes of the fragrance, lasting throughout the evolutionary process. But the complexity is huge and Eudora Deluxe insists on keeping in constant change, bringing nuances of bergamot, apple and pineapple, even after a good time on the skin. As time goes on, the body becomes floral and the perfume moves to an ambery and sensual base with several sweet facets of maltol in the background. In particular, I almost feel no woody content. For me, it smells like an oriental-fruity scent.
Although it has not been on the market for a long time, it is the kind of fragrance that would deceive if it were bottled in a glass jar with a refined finishing and a cloth-lined bulb spray with fringes. In this case, no one would believe that it is a product made in 2014.
Eudora Deluxe has high projection and durability and brings a lot of the DNA from the original version, which also deserves praise because it shows consistency within the same line. If you like fragrances with an evident apricot note, some flowers in the middle of the way and you have no patience for perfumes that portray the innocent girl or the cotton candy fanatic, then you’ve found one great option for your collection.
