I got my hands on this beauty when I saw it in a fragrance warehouse that sells new and old discontinued frags like this one. Gale Hayman’s Delicious Amber has no amber listed as one of the notes but it does smell of a warm amber in the dry down, like sun tan lotion. It’s the dry down I’m crazy about because the opening is citrusy with the usual citric notes like bergamot orange. The sweet orange and vanilla scents actually go well together. Smells like a better sweeter perfumed root beer with a sweet vanilla flavored foam or froth. There’s powder notes, sugar, and floral notes of heliotrope and jasmine petals.
A beautiful elegant soft amber fragrance with equal parts vanilla and heliotrope. I’ve worn dozens of heliotrope plus vanilla scents (L’Heure Bleu and Esprit D’Oscar) but this is not at all like those frags nor similar to talcum powder. It’s a gourmand fragrance with a fruity citrusy opening which settles into a subtle and feminine floral with big heliotrope and dries into almost a chocolate musk and a creamy vanilla. It’s a cozy fragrance perfect for the autumn and winter to wear to a romantic date or just at home on a Sunday to smell yourself. This is one of those perfumes made for women to please themselves and each other as women not for attracting the opposite sex. A lovely vanilla and amber to wear with a pretty dress for evening wear. Also smells of the holidays.
My husband says this is similar to my daughter’s Victoria Secret Amber Romance but though it has some of that going on it’s definitely more mature and more elegant, classy. It is the same as the VS fragrance in the sense that like a body spray it has all the notes mixed up together without a top middle and base progression. This is a linear scent but it smells great and good for a couple of hours.

Lovely citrus and heliotrope, and sweet deep sultry vanilla and musk; and delicate jasmine, very soft melting sandalwood, very sweet and gorgeous. A lovely comforting, feminine perfume, elegant and refined. It is like amber, like the beautiful colour of the perfume, and it is very very delicious!!

Yess!! It IS…..DELICIOUS!!! Gorgeous, soft and creamy citrus, beautiful delicate flowers (esPECially the heliotrope – divine heliotrope, one of my very favourite notes!!), with a bit of sugar to sweeten things more, gorgeous creamy sweet sandalwood and vanilla! Wow! It is really sensual, feminine and very elegant and refined.
Lovely, delicious and beautiful! And these bottles are fabulous! The colour does perfectly reflect the feel of the perfume, as Gosha says.
Lovely, delicious and gorgeous perfume!!!

How are there no reviews for this? I want to try it so bad!

It must be the orange, citruses, flowers and sugar combined – it reminds me a lot of Happy Spirit Magical Nights. A lot. It is equally jolly and sparkly, a bit warmer and creamier and little more grown up even than Chopard’s creation, I would say a bit more refined, but there is definitely strong resemblance. As it melts into the skin, it becomes quite sensual and…yes…it is delicious! I think the golden colour is very fitting. It makes me think of all things richly soft and smooth, it is happy, comforting and warm…
