Lovely fragrance. Spicy, warm, leather. Although, I have been wearing the EDT version for 12 years now and I honestly still like it a lot more than the EDP. It’s fresher, more attractive and above all: more unique.
The vibe of Declaration EDP reminds me of Gucci Guilty Absolu. Am I the only one?
    Give it a 7/10. EDT is a 9/10.

Real OAKMOSS extract (evernia prunasti) is listed as an ingredient on this one…

This is a stunner. Smells like Warm Spices and Pecans. You would have to check out for your self to smell what I’m saying. Smells like a true Par fum, unlike some claim. A deep masculine one. I think this one will be on my to buy list after testing it.

I have been a fan of (almost) everything Declaration, and I own or have owned every flanker.
This one is closest to Declaration Essence in that it tones down the citrus, and increases the spice (including cumin). Longevity is great, and sillage is normal (I don’t like gassing out everyone with my cologne).
If you didn’t like the cumin (some think it smells like body odor) of Declaration, you won’t like this one. I understand why some can think that way, but I don’t get the vibe on myself.
I like this and I own it along with the original, and Fraiche. In fact, I would put these three in this spectrum, going from light and citrusy on one end, and spicy on the other:
Declaration Fraiche – original Declaration – Declaration Parfum

I just bought this on a blind buy. It’s a nice wood scent. I do like it, but I have similar scents. I’m not sure what I was hoping for,but this wasn’t it. If anyone wants to do some trading for my new bottle send me a message.

    Cartier Declaration Parfum.
In 2018 the fragrance Declaration of jewelry brand Cartier completes 20 years and even though it is not one of the most popular perfumes at the moment it is one of the most influential and still one of the best selling. I would say it was one of the first moments of the massive success of the perfumer Jean Claude Ellena and the point where he managed to construct a complex and at the same time simple and transparent structure, something that he would take in future for perfumes like Terre d’Hermes, Bigarade Concentree and Cologne Bigarade , for example. After becoming an in-house perfumer of Hermès, it was designed to the talented Mathilde Laurent to continue the legacy of Cartier’s biggest selling success, and its second decade is celebrated in style with a Parfum concentration.
It is interesting to note that at the moment more brands invest in perfumes with a concentration even greater than an Eau de Parfum, but this is still a very new territory for the male audience, a territory previously considered taboo by a concentration aimed at the female audience . So there are still confusions with other concentrations and even a lack of understanding that increasing a concentration in the formula does not equate to an increase in performance and projection, even more so in a modern perfumery heavily dependent on musks and synthetic materials like iso and super, which last but not with nuclear projection. Creating a parfum is not just make a mere increase in essence, traditionally creating different concentrations is to give new life to the original formula, explore different nuances that different concentrations allows. And that Mathilde does very well here.
Declaration Parfum in my vision have 2 goals: keep the original signature and make it richer, in that case expanding the presence of cedar and spices and adding a facet of leather. Curiously, this makes the perfume go in a few moments in a similar direction to the discontinued Gucci Pour Homme I, but without the weight it has, fitting the idea of cedar, spices and incense of GPH I the most transparent aroma of cardamom, geranium and of the iso base and super of the traditional one.
The perfume opens in a similar way to the traditional one, however putting more emphasis on a fresh and spicy aspect, giving more prominence to the citrus, cardamom and a nuance of geranium not listed in the pyramid. At that moment the perfume even comes to remind me of Voyage d’Hermes, but before this comparative begins it is possible to perceive a more rough and rustic leather touch. It precedes the drier aroma of cedar, the incense side of the resins af the base and the dry touch of spices, where to me is more noticeable the cumin and black pepper. As it evolves the perfume goes in a more mineral and abstract direction as the traditional, but more full-bodied, keeping part of the spicy and incense aspect. This concentration can explore what matters most in a parfum beyond the expected performance, giving richness in each of the layers of evolution of the perfume but without leaving aside the DNA. It’s a masterpiece of a perfumer I admire.

Im wearing this parfume at this moment. This is so beautiful parfume and i can wear this anytime. It is suprise me, when i wear it I didnt smell masculine.
I asked people comment about this parfume on me, many people think this parfume is woman floral parfume.
It’s Skin parfume. People wouldnt notice whe you walk pass them but will smell it when they stand arround you.
    Longevity 8/10, sillage 7/10
So ladies dont have any doubt if you want to wear this man parfume with you, no masculine smell
Just wondering what would it smell on man skin?

The Parfum version is fantastic! Very classy. I love the original Declaration and this one is a great addition to that collection, that scent DNA is still definitely there, it’s still noticeably Declaration all the way. It’s just toned down the citrus side and lifted the spices but in a smooth refined way, once again I’ll mention the word classy here, very classy. Beautiful scent!

get essence instead. The edp here is weak and not as interesting as the essence.

Beaucoup de cuir et de cumin. Ce qui rend ce parfum plus animal que l’original.

Bravo Mathilde Laurent! You have done a great job with this EDP of Declaration. It is still Declaration, and not a completely new scent. It’s more spicy and woody, and most of the freshness is gone. It reminds me a bit of Declaration Essence, but less animalic. As a spice fan, I really love this one. Longevity, very good. Sillage, moderat. This could have been niche. A very successful release from Cartier!
    9/10
Ps: If you don’t like the regular edt, you will not like this one eighter!

A lot of fake women here! Trolls dominating fragrantica. When you put votes, please write a review. It is long lasting, i love it more than original…more wereable.

To me it’s very much like the original Declaration. that musty lemon pie smell.
But.. that opening.. i can’t help but think it smells like wood shavings. Not bad really.
Lasts about 2 hours before it settles down to a soft musky sweet lemon.
    Longevity: 2hrs
    Sillage: modest

If you like the original declaration you will absolutely love this stuff. It tones down the citrus bite from the original and amps up the spices. Lasting power is top notch. A all around great release.

This is a great flanker. Great execution on this, stay true to the original but with enough difference to justify the new one. More woodiness, more smokiness/oriental on the drydown. Like a sweet fur. I can definitely smell some oud or myhrr in it, but well blended.

Tried this at Macy’s the day it came out. It was love at first sniff. I very rarely pay retail for a fragrance, but idk if I can wait for this to make its way to the discount sites. Very cedery, I just tried layering CH Men Prive with this. So far I like it

This is the ultimate nutmeg heaven. Somehow it recalls the original edt formulation (before watered down batches galore) with a nutmeg note in a high pitch and a deeper woody character. I have also see a high likeness to Kenzo Jungle for your reference although Declaration DNA is clearly respected. As an EDP I think it’s a bit mellow since I tested L’envol (also EDP and also Cartier) at the same time and longevity and projection have nothing to do. Despite this, it goes directly to my wishlist.

I tested this flanker today at a department store.
I was really impressed. Amazing, luxurious, deep, mysterious masculine fragrance.
This exceeded my expectations big time. It has the perfect balance of woods and spices. Difficult to not appreciate in my opinion.
I will wait till it gets discounted though.
Great release by Cartier. Eau de parfum flanker done by the book.

I am an ardent fan of the original Declaration, which I consider one of the greats in the pantheon of masculine fragrance. It has also stood the test of time, and remains just as relevant and fresh as it was when it first came out. I have gone through 2 bottles, and it is my go to in warm weather, when I need something fresh.
This Parfum version is just as good as the original, but deeper, spicier, less sparkling which makes it far more wearable in the cooler months. It also feels more appropriate for evening wear as well. This is really quite gorgeous, and different enough from the original to warrant a full-bottle purchase.
I wouldn’t be surprised it this shares some of its base note aromachems with Gucci Guilty Absolute — which translates to a longer lasting, linear, woody fragrance.

Not much difference ..if any with the EDT . Oh yes ..the color. Get the Essence Edition if you can, it lasts longer and projects durably ! This one , the Parfum version is pure marketing .

Now this is what I call a true EdP version! The scwnt is exactly the same but the sillage and longevity are waaaaay better! Bra-vo Mathilde!!! Bra-vo!!!

I tried the edp and doesn’t seem to be too much different from edt. At the beginning it’s more spicy and you can feel pepper.
In terms of longevity you should consider 4-6 hours. Sillage is ok but not too strong.
I was expecting something deeper and with better projection. The bottle and the colour of the juice are really attracting. I think it can be used for a nice evening: the scent is very good.

Tried this and I have to say it is very nice indeed. The sales lady sprayed my hand and on initial thought it is not as strong a fragrance as the colour of the liquid might suggest. As the lady pointed out is the Parfum version of the line but on my skin it does not shout at all and seems quite subtle. Incredibly woody and waxy in the dry down and it smells very classy and expensive.
    Update
I was more generous with the spray sample and it is indeed a strong fragrance. To me this is definitely an evening fragrance which I would personally use in the Autumn through winter.

I just tried this at Macy’s and the easiest comparison is as such:
If YSL L’Homme is analogous to the original Declaration then,
YSL L’Homme Parfum Intense is analogous to Declaration Parfum.
It smells a whole lot like you’d think it would given the deeper color and the notes described above. It’s a richer, more intense version, with an emphasis taken off of the ‘curry’ notes, and a greater emphasis placed on the amber and leather contained therein. It also plays down the citrus notes that provides a great deal of the original’s charm when juxtaposed to the caraway, pepper, and cardamom.
Its longevity is good, it seems to project minimally, but still provides a nice bubble that can be smelled by all of those within arm’s reach. It’s been about ~4 hours since sprayed it on and it’s still detectable, but I doubt anyone would be able to smell it on me unless they stood up against me.
A very nice, woodsy scent that retains some of the charm of its namesake, but by no means is this a replacement for the original. I would probably choose to wear this only in the winter/fall, as I can see it becoming cloying under the right circumstances.

Have and love all the other flankers. Can’t wait to try this one out. Seems like this one will share the least with its brothers but will still probably be awesome.
