I love this one one from start to finish. Out of 10 different Zara fragrances that I tested recently, this one is the loveliest and unique. It is the most unusual lilac perfume that I have ever smelled, because I could not detect lilac vividly i it. But it was there somewhere in the composition, as I could sense it. It only showed up separately toward the end as a soft and sweet lilac to my nose, with very lovely, creamy and yummy, peachy vanilla base. It is a sweet fragrance but not cloying or sugary sweet. It is florally and peachy sweet. Dear Lilac does remind me of Victoria’s Secret Scandalous but it is softer and more floral.
I don’t get the little floral fabric string wrapping around the bottle at all. It looked like a torn piece of rag in reality, kinda tacky and cheap, so I took it off the bottle. It looks so much better without it.

I sprayed it today during luchtime at my local Zara. And I’d been smelling it all morning long thanks to my colleague wearing Scandalous by Victoria’s Secret. I couldn’t imagine a greater luck in finding so easily such a nice dupe for it! Now it’s been 4 hours and it’s still there on my wrist, doesn’t seem wanting to fade away. Thanks Zara, you always surprise me in the best way!
Ps. Also, I smell some resemblance with Flora by Gucci, the edt version I think.

Tested this in store and wasn’t very impressed. I love Lilac and expected a gorgeous blast of it when I sprayed it, but all I got was a sharp alcohol smell that made my nose sting. I couldn’t detect any notes in it, my OH even said the same when I asked him to sniff it. I thought I might have ‘nose fatigue’ after smelling so many different perfumes as I always end up doing when I visit the shopping mall, but no this one gets a definite thumbs down for now. I won’t write it off just yet though, I’ll try it again on my next visit and make it my priority to try it first before my nose goes into meltdown lol
