Women! Are you nostalgic for the great, wonderful, warm and enveloping opium? The solution is this perfume. The best clone of the original opium (both 1977 and Parfum). The breath of the dragon still lives in this fragrance. Days ago I was in perfumery. We started talking to the owner (as well as my dear friend) of the great fragrances of the past, starting from the Basala of Shiseido and ending the speech with just the Opium. He explained to me that few know that “The breath of the dragon” still secretly lives in a fragrance called Danger Zone, a fragrance that costs very little but that is worth three times. Persistent and identical to the original. So I decided to pick it up with her perfumery. Today we met again and I rediscovered the Eastern spirit of Opium. He explained that he does not know when this fragrance will remain on the market and advised me to take a few more bottles but since I’m a male I decided to take only two (one to give to those who want and the other collectible). THIS PERFUME IS THE SOLUTION FOR THOSE WHO LOVE THE OPIUM. I close my eyes and I find myself in the imperial china in which stands the figure of a fighting woman who destroys all her enemies with the power of the dragon. A color for this scent: Ocher . A state of mind: Charming. A celebrity: Joan of Arc

This goes on a powerhouse spicy oriental like Opium, Ciara, Rumba. But it quickly softens to a skin scent in the drydown. Lovely. Inexpensive but not as powerful or lasting as the others.

A good copy of Opium, it is somewhere between Opium and Cafe for me, although all three are very similar. Longevity and strength are not too good but considering the price it is still worth it. I like more the heavy cloves in Opium which I don’t find in either Cafe or Danger Zone, these are milder and soapier while still smelling just great.
On further smelling, I don’t like this, there is a pickled cucumber smell mixed with Opium, and I hate pickles.

I just received this last week, a total blind buy that cost me about £5 for 100ml delivered. I figured for that crazy price it was worth a shot because if it worked I’d have a real bargain and if it didn’t I hadn’t splashed too much to feel too bad about it!
As others have stated, this is very much like YSL Opium. I actually bought this without even looking up the notes or reviews which I never normally would do, but it was clearly being marketed as an Opium-a-like, and I do really love Opium. Indeed, as soon as I opened the bottle and sprayed a little onto a test strip I thought Opium.
This actually smells a lot more like the original formula Opium, the pre-reformulation version, than it does the modern Opium, which to me is a huge bonus. It very much has that Opium/Ispahan/Cafe scent from opening to drydown.
Obviously this is not of the same level of quality as genuine vintage Opium, but I was very pleased with the quality especially considering the price. It doesn’t quite have the punch of Opium, although that is not necessarily a bad thing, sometimes the original Opium is too much, and this is an extremely viable alternative.
Longevity is not the best, around 4-5 hours on skin, 6-8 on clothing, so not terrible. And for the price, it can be topped up and refreshed frequently.
I would say if you are a fan of Opium, or any of the other similar perfumes that exist, this is well worth a try, especially considering the low price.

Yes, this tries to be a dupe of Opium, but it is very very VERY low quality. I wasted money. It’s going in my things to take to the thrift store. *cries*

This is unabashedly marketed as a dupe of Opium, but I think it is closer to the original, un-reformulated Opium than the newer one currently on the market.

My grandmother gave it to me, unfortunately I don’t like it, it is very similar to Opium by YSL.
