Description
“It’s the heyday of the ancient city of Damascus, culture and roses are abound. The fragrance of rose which adorn the French bourgeoisie of the Levant, blend well with the French vanilla scents of their skin before drying down to a luscious, but ever so light oriental woody note, just like the couplet of the Arabic poem, dancing with the notes of the French melody.” – a note from the brand.
Damask Midnight Rose by The Scented Souq is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Damask Midnight Rose was launched in 2016. The fragrance features damask rose, turkish rose, bulgarian rose, vanilla, patchouli and agarwood (oud).

nicely blended little frag. The rose is there, announces its presence but not overpowering or in the face.
Warm, subtle, a bit too quiet for a rose if you ask me.
The oud is not particularly dominant
I’d wear this when I want to smell nice from intimate distance. Not a show stopper, it is a whisperer
just looked at the UK website..well, not sure I’d want to hash out 35 pounds for a tiny 6ml bottle. I get it, it’s an oil. Call me shallow but for 35 pounds a drop, I’d expect the packaging to be nicer as well. It looks just the same as any other 5 pound oil. And the label… I get it, it’s handmade (or bought in bulk and decanted) but it does not need to look like it was mixed in the garage hastily with available stuff around
P.s for the above, this has nothing to do with rose d’Arabie for me (which I own).

Initially, I got a strange metallic top note. It went away in 20 minutes. The vanilla takes a while to come out, and it’s very very subtle. Then it becomes a blend of rose, wood, and musk.
Interesting. This could be really nice on a man. It’s not a floral rose, if that makes any sense, but more of a warm, woody, spicy rose.
