Description

MOR Dala is a light and fresh fragrance that evokes the atmosphere of Scandinavian spring. Top notes of clementine, Sicilian lemon and blackberry blossom form a slightly sweet start of the composition, developing into the heart of rose geranium, red berries and transparent jasmine. The base is made of pink musk, guaiac wood and rose water. The bottle is decorated with a wooden horse.

Available as 100 ml EDT. Dala was launched in 2009.

Lovely packaging and equally cute bottle. Awkward to open though. The opening notes are… not very good. Very synthetic and unpleasant. But give it a few seconds and you smell wonderful roses with a hint of sweet current 🙂 If nothing else it makes a really chic gift that looks beautiful on the dresser.

What an adorable bottle and package…cute, cute, cute. I found this discounted ( $9.99 at TJ MAXX) so I thought I’d give it a try. Definitely smell rose and clementine and a little of the Sicilian lemon but mostly soft rose. It pretty much stops there and it’s a bit sour in the beginning…..like a red wine almost. I’m trying to decide if I like it….it’s not offensive…I can say that. It reminds me of what Spring smells like….it takes me right to a moment of walking along a river path on a warm morning surrounded by cottonwood trees, blackberry bushes and wild rose in bloom. I think it’s already starting to fade and I’ve just applied it within the last half hour.

MOR DAIA suffers the same packaging defects as FREIA—original but irrelevant—and has apparently also been discontinued. This composition, however, is far more feminine and flowery. Roses are the primary florals in this very pleasant and likeable perfume perfect for virtually any context. To be honest, when I first spritzed this onto the box top (which I always do before applying a new perfume directly to my skin), it struck me as vaguely similar to Ann Taylor POSSIBILITIES, which I don’t wear, though I have a big bottle, because of some “abstract floral” note to which I am averse. However, FREIA wears very differently on my skin: the roses really bloom and the composition is not at all inimical to my neurophysiology. Anyone looking for a calmer, gentler rose perfume—one which does not scream out “Dowager!”—would enjoy FREIA, it seems to me. The notes are niche quality, and I’m going to enjoy using up this blind-buy NM last call acquisition a lot. (6.06.11)

I accidentally found Dala and Freïa at Neiman Marcus Last Call in my area. Dala starts out a little sharp pungent and a little spicy with rich orange. It’s fresh and spicy warm at the same time. Then Dala quickly becomes grape-like fruity! It’s very grapey and doesn’t feel synthetic at all. I enjoy it. Unfortunately, there is nothing else I can smell as it completely vanishes from my skin. I mean there is NOTHING left behind. the scent is young and youthful. It’s not elegant scent but fun and enjoyable. I like Dala more than Freïa because it’s fruity and less floral.
The packaging is very nice, and the flacon is pretty cute too. I have the wooden cap and the pony. It’s super cute. 🙂
