Yes there is a strong resemblance between Cuba Magnum Black and the duo Dior Homme / Valentino Uomo.
I have the three of them and for my wife they have virtually the same scent. She cannot tell one scent apart from the other in my skin. I learnt to tell them appart because they have different timings and intensity for the opening notes and the dry down.
In terms of longevity / sillage they do not vary more than 20% (comparing the best with the worst one, best results for Dior, then Cuba an finally Valentino)
Of course I do not have a test lab and this is only a subjective test done by a humble perfume customer with more than 100 flasks of perfume and still with a lot to learn.
I also tested Zara 9.0. It is also close to the notes present in Uomo/Homme but not as close as Magnum Black. The values of longevity and sillage are also a bit inferior (about 35% less)…. well…. just do a bit of respray 🙂

I think this is the black Cuba Magnum. The bottle comes in a black cylindrical canister and the bottle is blacked cigar rather than the traditional brown cigar, just like Cuba Black is. The main difference between the two are the longevity and that Cuba Magnum Black is basically a cross between Cuba Black and a Valentino Uomo/Dior Homme scent.
No notes are given on Fragrantica or even on the Fragluxe Page entry for this scent, but I notice a note of mixed citrus, lavender and maybe another floral note or two (maybe jasmine?), some woods, and vetiver, which are the mark of Cuba Black. On top of that is a slight bit of cacao or chocolate similar to Valentino Uomo and Dior Homme just like Valentino Uomo Intense. I can tell you that unlike Uomo Intense or DH the other floral note is NOT iris. Magnum Black doesn’t smell like lipstick, just as Uomo don’t.
Cuba Paris Cuba Magnum Black is really a good bargain. You get 4.2 oz or 125 ml for around $12USD and it smells similar enough to DH with lasting time of about 8 hours with 2 hours of decent to good projection. That said, it isn’t as usable as DH or Uomo. Uomo and DH are VERY good date scents, even Cuba Prestige is but this comes off as too synthetic for a date scent. That said, this is great in casual and work settings, unlike DH and Uomo since it’s dialed down quite a bit compared to those two scents. I don’t see this as a signature while the other two are common signatures for the fragcom.
I have to rate Cuba Paris Cuba Magnum Black a 7.6 out of 10. This is because while it’s really good, it’s nowhere near the quality of DH or Uomo. Those are beasts right there while this is the beasts’ baby brother. I feel it mixes old school classic man scents with sophisticated modern semi-feminine scents. Now is it a great scent, no it’s just good borderline really good. But if you want DH or even Uomo and live on a beer budget and don’t have a Zara by you (to allow you to pick up Zara 9.0), this is a good one, if you can find it. It isn’t as easily found as other Cuba fragrances in my experience but still worth the hunt. I must say that had I not gotten a bunch of samples of Valentino Uomo, this would be my travel version of Uomo. If even I had to decant because at 4.3oz, it’s not travel size ready.
