I bought this nice perfume in Palma city at Mallorca in -85. And now I want to try their other perfumes.

Floriental.Reminds me of Cardin – Cardin with only a little spicy difference (to my nose : cloves). But very little spyciness.Nice floral.Reminds me also a little of Basile , would call it a very very soft Basile(bcs of the clovy hint).

Floral aquatic ? In my opinion, vintage Courreges in Blue EdT is beautiful hybrid chypre with a drydown in the oriental side and spicy green opening . I love “old” perfumes like this one : complex , rich , intense and very longlasting for an Edt ( about 7 hours , a record for my skin ! )
This perfume is “thick” : this adjective always comes to my mind when I smell it .
I would like to get the parfum concentration : I’ m sure it is heaven !
I ‘ve seen that many people find it similar to Hermes Amazone . Well , they share the black currant note , but Amazone is not thick and that loud ( I’m talking about the Jean Claude Ellena Amazone version , that is the second one ) : it is classier . So , give a try to vintage Amazone even if you do not like Courreges in Blue . They are not similar , in my opinion .

I tried this fragrance when I was a child. As I remember, it was aldehydes fragrance. And as I was a child at that time, this fragrance seemed to me like expired. I wonder if I like it now or don’t. My mom had it. She reminds it as a good fragrance. Now I like some aldehydes fragrances, too, so maybe now I would like it also, who knows.

Bough a bottle of 100 ml vintage of this. Its an eau de toilette, but it behaves like an eau de perfume.
Very long lasting on my skin; about 8 to 10 hours!
When I was young I had a miniature, but my memories were totaly different from what I smell now: I didn’t remember the exact notes of this perfume. So it was a surprise. I Always remebered it as a kind of aldehyde perfume, but now I smell black currant, vetiver, marygold and oakmoss. Very strong and somehow spicey. I can also detect the basil and the coriander, very intensive. (First I reminded me of baby diapers…!)I realy had to learn to like this perfume again, but now I wear it regulary. For me it smells like no other perfume. Very special.

just got my little bottle of pure blue not the edt. it started so strong i thought it was off. but soon developped into that gorgeous very feminne fragrance I used to wear when it came out. makes me happy

Having read the reviews I was left thoroughly confused and decided to purchase yet another vintage miniature online. Well? I agree with small points many make but none in total. My experience is yet again completely different. So here goes. Started out uncomfortably strong and mildly unpleasant in a medicinal chypre way. Just a few short minutes later it faded to the middle and became a skin scent. Herbal, green and soapy skin scent. Floral aquatic? And on my skin barely worth wearing. Why would I anyway? Marigold, rose, narcissus, jasmine, patchouli, pepper, amber and musk. Notes shared in CinB with Montana de Peau and Ivoire de Balmain, fragrances I heartily dislike. Aunty Kathy will no doubt love this one too. The notes on Fragrantica are starting to help me sort out why I feel the way I do about fragrances. It’s all interesting for me anyway.

Todo esto está muy bien.. pero, dónde está Niagara pour Homme de Courreges?? Por qué no existe en la “enciclopedia” de los perfumes Fragrantica??
elatoevace – :
My first thought was when I have got introduced to this perfume to rush out and get a huge bottle of it! Lucky me I did not since novadays all I can smell is marigold, nothing sparkles here!
Unfortunatelly it reminds me of Private Collection Estee Lauder, which I am not so keen on either.

Courreges is spring-like to me, it’s green, fresh and herbal. I get a bit of tuberose in the middle-not a really creamy one, then it dries down into a slightly spiced chypre. I love it, it’s hard for me to describe it, it’s different.
I have 2 bottles of Courrages, one is a mini parfum, the other an EDT in the glass bottle with the ball cap. I loved the mini so much I got a full bottle, but they’re different. The mini is richer, creamier and more powdery, the EDT is sort of like a skim milk version, it’s not as creamy and much more green and herbal. I’m wondering of the EDT is a reformulated version. Both are very wearable, sillage and longevity are excellent.
Podolskiy – :
This is a bold classy floral that smells strongly of aldehydes at first then herbs and flowers….it smells like an 80’s scent because it is an 80’s scent, and it’s not for me.

Last night I wore Courreges in Blue to bed and it gave me a profound insomnia. I could not sleep because the changes in the perfume were unignorable!a combination of green and honey (tubereuse????) I don`t think it`s aquatic, may be floral green with a tendency to lean towards a chypre. It is also very energetic at the same time, without being citrusy at all. A little bitter, it made me think of a business shark lady standing 6.5 feet tall in her 5 inch Jimmy Choos and ready to execute a business opponent with one wave of a pen.Cruel!
Then it started to feel more warm and soft,a little medicinal – still with honey on top to sooth the taste.I felt a lots of marigold and it was a marigold tincture I used to get for my sore throats when I was a kid.
When I almost gave up all hope to have any sleep at all, all of a sudden I was left with a strong scent of freshly chopped parsley, and a whole bunch of it. May be even a bit of a celery root!
And on this comforting note I finally fell asleep.

My first impressions:
This is no aquatic, but the top notes are fresh, with the marigold, coriander, and aldehydes giving a “peppery” effect.
The floral notes in the middle blend into each other; I can’t pick one in particular that stands out.
The clove note in the base is extremely strong; on my skin it overpowers all the other base notes.
dankoym – :
This a lovely, lovely BOLD chypre. The “floral aquatic” label here is waaaaay off. Ah,the 1980’s…big shoulder pads, big hair, BIG fragrances. This Big Fragrance will sneak up on you like a wicked riptide on an otherwise calm sea.
There’s a brief watery introduction to the oakmoss, coriander, bergamot, amber, cedar, sandalwood, vetiver and violet… all favorite notes of mine! Opens with spice and brightness and settles into an even spicier green warmth. Good for hot weather but I’m planning on wearing this one all year round. Love it!
I own 7 Courreges fragrances and apart from Empreinte, CinB is the most “grown up”. There’s determination and persistance here in this seamless blend, nothing simple or carefree here despite the florals, no sir. CinBlue feels serious, like a woman who is clearly IN CHARGE.
drovamymavord – :
This is a scent of memory for me, because my mother used to wear it when I was a child. I use to adore it on her. It was a complex floral smell and it smelled classy to my young nose. I still have a sample of this, but I don’t like to wear as it seems so dated to me now. Still an original scent for that time.
extrimal1977 – :
I love the freshness of this perfume when it is first applied, perhaps due to it’s strong coriander and citrus top notes. It settles into a unique fragrance unlike any other I have in my wardrobe while still retaining some of it’s citrus. I live in a hot climate and it can be a bit overpowering when first applied but the fragrance stays all day and remains “true” without becoming too “watery”. Love it but hard to find

Bright scent with flowers and fruits & aquatic notes. Fantastic for summer! Since 1986 Courege in Blue has been my signature. I get so many compliments on it. No other fragrance would do. But now is hard to find it.
