I’m definitely in the minority here but this is hands down my signature scent. I’ve been using this for about 3 years now and I keep buying a new bottle whenever I run out. I have never smelled anything like this before. It literally smells like sweet rain.

I guess I should have expected what I got based on the packaging and name alone. It smells just like rain scented laundry scent beads or fabric softener. Its not a bad thing, because I generally like those laundry smells but more so for my laundry, not my body. But it does make sense that the two would match scents. We have our laundry smells, our shower smells and then we put on our perfumes on top of all that. If all them were the same and layered together, it would probably just me more pronounced of a smell throughout the day. But I think I will kick this one down because I know I will probably never reach for it again.

Fresh, light, and as the name implies, clean. I got this one as I wanted something aquatic that reminded me of the smell after a good rainfall. This doesn’t quite remind me of that, but it is nice. It’s aquatic and actually pretty sweet, although my boyfriend said he wouldn’t mind wearing it himself. I feel it would do well with a more grounding scent, like something woody, and a bit less sweetness. It doesn’t last too long on me, so I have to re-apply a couple of times throughout the day. Overall I like it, but I do feel that it has a sort of body-wash or shampoo feel to it that makes it seem a bit over priced for what it is.

One of the few Clean perfumes that I like. It is fresh and serene. Aquatic. Smells also kind of like melon. I could have this easily to calm myself down or when I want to focus. It gives peace of mind
Update: the latest drydown is pretty aqatic salty. Very similar to The Body Shop “Fijian Water Lotus”. This salty Accord makes it not a rain scent to me. It lost some favour in my eyes.

I like almost everything about this perfume, the name, the colour and of course the scent, but first after 15 minutes or so.
It starts with a very sweet melon note, to sweet for my skin. Then comes a green, grassy, refreshing smell – like a garden after a rain. Perfect. Definitely this perfume’s best moments, but I like the way it ends too – with well balanced musk & waterlilies. I don’t smell any cucumber though, and I don’t miss it.
It’s nice. A lovely, light fragrance for the summer, if you wait 15 minutes!

First note was stunning. Then stayed nice and a bit like Issey (the classic one) for a couple of hours which was very pleasant. Made me consider buying it. After that the magic was lost and I smelled the spoiled, sugary sea and aquatic notes instead. Another lesson after countless ones that you can’t rush buying perfume.

I am disappointed in Clean Rain. I expected something different than the generic water lily-melon combination that smells like so many other perfumes I know: Issey Miyake, YR Ming Shu, Mary Kay Journey, Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus etc They all have the strong and sharp, a bit sour note in them that I cannot stand.
(I used to love many of these perfumes about 10 years ago, not any more)
Rain could smell more green, or then just crispy and fresh.
The strong melon note is not that rainy.

lemonzest – I know this is for females and I haven’t smelled this but Escape Calvin Klein for men is a cantaloupe fragrance and to me it’s absolutely awesome. So I have nothing against cantaloupe being in a frag, in fact I have a few other ones that contain it too.

CLEAN Rain is a sweet aquatic. Cool, ripe cantaloupe and fresh lotus flower with a clean musk undertone. This is nothing “fancy”, but I think that is what appeals to me so much about the CLEAN brand fragrances. This is a simple; pleasant scent that is great for everyday wear and I get compliments on it too!

This is perhaps one of the most aquatic scents that I have ever come across, and let me start by saying that aquatics are not my favourite category of fragrance.
I get the feeling of standig in a pond, with the water up to my neck and the surface of the dark water covered by water lilies. It’s a rather melancholic state. Tranquil. The surface is perfectly still.
I’m not very good at distinguishing different notes in perfumes, but I cannot bring myself to smelling melon in this, or any other fruit for that matter. I mainly get the cold, damp, tranquil water lily scent, with some clean soap in the background.
Sillage is modest but the longevity is good for this type of fragrance.

It’s not a perfect dupe but it fits my style and it’s a very humble but lovely white floral with a strong aquatic note. The longevity is pretty nice and the sillage is moderate. I’d say this is nice for spring days. I’m really excited to try more from Clean.

I might be in the minority here but this is love to me. Maybe it’s impossible for me to review this scent objectively as the second I smell it I am transported into my childhood memories – it smells exactly like a wet garden does on a summer day in my home country Finland. It reminds me of my late grandma’s garden at her cottage where I used to play a lot when I was young. It’s that serenity of the moment after rain. It’s a very aquatic fragrance, you can almost feel the weatness when you wear this fragrance. It is a very simple fragrance after all, but just so masterfully done that I have no complaints, at all. Unexpectedly, this has become one of my favorite fragrances. I love love love it. The only thing that sort of made me ponder about getting this first was whether I want to smell like a wet garden or not, but I have know realized that I definitely do. I whole heartedly recommend this fragrance, though it is not a very ‘perfume-y’ perfume .

Rain soaked greenery and mellow, melon rind. The rind, not the sweet, flesh of melon, but they layer of white/green flesh right next to the rind has little smell, except a fresh, crisp, watery slightly melon/green scent. Very unisex vibe.

The brand says it all, this is the most cleanest perfume I have had so far. I really like the clean and fresh perfume that without any musk, wood, and vanilla tone.The smell just make me feel very relaxing and not so obvious. However, I do not think it smells like RAIN, and did not stay long.

for me i smelt melon, watery aquatic notes, then a hit of *strong* daisies and white flowers, maybe magnolia, honeysuckle or narcissus. then it kind of stayed as a white flower scent with a hit of musk and melon.
However in the opening top notes i also often got the pungent smell of plastic. a horrible smell like maybe melting plastic – not a burning smell, just a very chemical plastic one.
i would have liked it better with addition of hints of grass notes, less white flowers and musk, more waterlily and aquatic notes. composition was too simple and linear.

This is pretty inoffensive, but it’s not really something I want to smell like, either. The opening is pure melon, and then the flowers come through after a few minutes. On first spray, this really smells like Method cucumber surface cleaner…not the best!

It’s not my style but it’s very pretty – a “cool” fragrance. The adjective “refreshing” also comes to mind and I can see this being a great summer scent for someone. I get melon, narcissus and musk with a definite aquatic note. This would be good for smelling fresh on a hot, humid day.

I feel like I am smelling a different fragrance than those who say it smells like rotten melons, or bananas and litter box…This perfume is perfect for humid, hot days and I agree that it has similar components to Clinique Happy Heart. I’ve worn this several times and received compliments every single time. I think it’s a light fragrance that compliments the skin quite well. The melon and daisy are a lovely balance that is reminiscent of water on a hot day. Smells slightly synthetic, but hey, they do a decent job portraying “rain”. I do have to say it smells too strong and sharp in the winter, but for me, it’s perfect for summer and hot days! Definitely one of my favorites from the Clean line.

This smells exactly like rain air freshener from the dollar store. The melon really makes my nose angry. I dislike this so very much. My boyfriend likes it, which I just don’t understand at all. Obviously we are both smelling it on me, so how is he liking it while I find it to be such a synthetic mess? It has a weird burnt rubber undertone on my skin. I’m starting to think that “fresh” smelling perfumes just don’t work with my chemistry. I wish it really did smell like a garden after rain, wet dirt, flowers, ozonic air, herbaceous greens. Don’t get me wrong – I have a bottle of this and I like it, especially on a hot summer morning. It is fresh, sweet, lush, juicy. However, as someone here said it smells like a decaying melon and I must agree that there’s some truth to it. It’s not the kind of perfume I spray on my wrist and keep sniffing. I spray it on my body so that the general inpression is there but without having to smell it to closely. And I can never be sure if others around me like it or are wondering if there’s a melon hidden under one of the tables. I must say that behind the strong melon it does really smell like a garden after rain. Perhaps it smells like rain on a field of melons.
Longevity and sillage are good. But it would have been so much better with just 50% less melon in it!

This is definitely a “wet” fragrance, and that wetness added some interest for me. I also liked how the melon was easily detectable (at first); it added a juicy component to Clean Rain, but soon the floral notes took over and made me want to wash my wrist! The daffodil was subtle and the water lily was fairly dominant. Not bad at all…just not what I personally want to smell like.

This really is a great representation of the way the earth and breeze smells after a spring rain. The smell of cool, moist, clean air; the smell of damp spring flower petals which gives a sweetness that is still very light and airy. It is a nice aquatic fragrance, which is a perfume family that I usually am not fond of; this is quite strong for an aquatic, too.
It does kind of smell like a candle or room spray (got a bit of that ‘clean cotton’ muskiness going on), but if you like that style of scent and would want it on your skin, this really is perfect.
I feel like it is kind of battling with my skin, which tends to warm up scents; this scent is so cool, it’s resisting the warmth of my skin. Not sure how to explain it, but it’s like the scent isn’t settling on me. I like how it smells, but am not sure this is how I want to smell; maybe I will try it again on a very hot day, when I want a cooler scent. It’s like I’ve met a really cool, sweet person but I’m puzzled by our lack of connection.

When sprayed, This perfume smells like honey dew and then it turns into this vixen causing nauseating headache on one side of your head. It also has a bit of window cleaner smell to it. If you are like me who is prone to headaches then avoid this at all cost.

I was trying out my friends Rain for her request. I own Aqua di Gioia and these are quite similar. Aqua di Gioia is more complex and interesting. But we were discussing summer fragrances, and both these fragrances lack in longevity department (humid weather).
