Jaguar has a very strict vision in terms of their cars and the way they present their brand. Same goes for their perfumes.
This one is not too much of anything. It starts with a fresh “green apple”vibe and it turns more metallic and dark .

After drydown, mellows out with softer sillage than both. Mid to bottom remind of Liz Claiborne Spark but not as nice as IT would be in it’s own entirety. Bums me out that i could have avoided this. But curiosity got the best of me.

This is a cheapo house understood. Only one worthy of purchase is the original in the green bottle…and it’s body spray is killer!! If you want decent cheapos try Bogart , Krizia , Pino houses..

I agree with others that JB suffer from a nasty synthetic HAIR-SPRAY opening, but after it settle, you smell like you bath in Irish Spring or just came-out-of-the-Shower-Fresh for 4 hours. While I may not like its opening, its dry-down is very Clean & Fresh in a shower-gel way.
Jaguar Black isn’t beautiful, but it WORK and last 4 hours! I don’t ♥ it, but I respect it.

God! This is uninspiring, and while I would normally write a fairly neutral review which said it was okay, today I’m actively choosing to dislike this one. The reason being I’m quite partial to the original Jag fragrance and I like the brand, it’s a British institution.
Not going to talk about notes or performance because I’m boring myself already… Although I will say this…It’s not a tea fragrance (of any note) it does open quite nicely. Soon it descends into a synthetic muskiness, mixed with an aquatic seasideyness (see re:Azzaro Chrome Legend) and then a bit of god awful, suncream and white floral ‘freshness’ (again see chrome legend) If you want something generic I’d normally say don’t go for the well known stuff explore the discounted treasures like Dunhill and Jaguar but in this case, maybe don’t bother.

Whatever, both have very nice bottles & lovely quiet long lasting fresh power if used as an eau de toilette. Spray it a few times on your neck & skin if you want but most of all; spray it on & in your clothes true your collar

Nice but ways too close toprevious blue one. Seing black I was hoping for something a bit like Montana’s Black edition or at least something different I do like aromatic fragrances so I’d say it is an ok one to add to the nice aromatic but nothing special family! This really is a nice fresh, well rounded green woody scent. Much better and with much more character than Jaguar Classic (Blue). Longevity and sillage are moderate. You will get compliments. Some have compared it to Chrome Legend, but to me it is not overly aquatic or metallic. Just fresh with some creamy spice to balance it out.

It’s an aromatic scent that is very pleasing….it’s nothing like azzaro chrome legend to my nose but I quite like it. It is moderately strong and refreshing and lasts for about 5-6 hours which is excellent for the price of $15 for a 100 ml bottle here in India.

very nice aromatic eau de toilette. What many will callfougère! To be used as such for 36 hours lasting pleasures on your clothes for your nose. 100% softer version of SPC Paris Bleu club 4011 which is not in the database. Oriental, not to me, nothing really sweet but delicious aromates & somehow woody indeed after 5 hours wearing it. I wander how people uses eau de toilettes for saying it does not last! I had a couple of sprays on my neck, a very few on my jumper & then some on my chest true the neck collar and can still smell it 2 days after I had it sprayed. I guess most people will have some on their neck only which is not the way to use an eau de toilette for best results! There is a difference in between eau de parfum & eau de toilette. The bottle is the same as for previous Jaguar’s fragrances except it is all black & not transparent. Very nice & classy. I agree you will not perfume the room & disturb everyone around you but that is not to excpect from quality brands & fragrances. Want everyone know you are wearing some perfume? Wear some unknown cheap brand & fragrance! A perfume is to be something personal you wear for yourself & those that come close to you. I will definitily recommend this one the way I would recommend the blue version. Nice about them is you can grab them pretty cheap on the web while they used to cost a £55 a few years ago.

While x-mas shopping I came across Jaguar Classic Black on sale for $10.00US. I saw this cologne and its reviews initially on this site, so I was curious to find out what it smelt like. Looking at the bottle I really expected this cologne to smell good or fairly decent. After spraying the cologne I was sadly DISAPPOINTED!!! For some odd reason I began smelling a combination of coconut and Armorall. The dry down was musky and rusty at the same time. There was nothing special or pleasant about this fragrance in my opinion. I would rather smell drugstore brands like Brut or Old spice than this bottle of HELL NO! I am so happy that I got a chance to smell this very cheap and synthetic fragrance before I made a blind buy.

So a jaguar walks into a bar and just stands there like it owns the place. The bartender stunned by the jaguars presence asked the big cat can I help you? The jaguar just ignored the bartender as it was approached by a hot looking blonde woman that said mmmmm you smell niceeee. The jaguar smiled and said thank you and the blonde followed the jaguar back outside to his a car which ironically was a black Jaguar X-Type. They both drove off in his car and had an awesome night together. Thats how I can best describe Classic Black Jaguar for men when I am trippin.
This was a total blind buy and have no regrets since I payed less than $20 for this bottle. Speaking of the bottle I did notice some reviewers like the look but in my opinion it looks OK yet it feels clunky and cheaply made…I hope the cars don’t match that description. The first few sprays are interesting and yes there are some shades of Chrome but I get a sweeter and more musky flavor from Jaguar. Not a strong scent but just the right amount to get noticed by those around you. The citrus fades into a woody vibe a few hours later and barely leaves a mark after 6 hours on my body. Not bad actually I like it alot but do please try a sample of this if you can. Its best to wear at night so you can leap into action as you search for your prey! I may try out other Jaguar scents but for now I am a cool cat with Jaguar Classic Black.
*Update* It is leading my pack of colognes when it comes to compliments! Unexpected results when you give it time.

This is a crowed pleaser I have to say a well blended scent I really like this from jaguar it does share a DNA with chrome legend but less harsh this for me is more wearable with the wearing of this scent I got again 3 compliments without fail. It lasts a good 5 to 6 hours on my skin and it projects a good 3 feet even in the dry down it leaves a nice scent trail the sea note and white musk really do work well and the sandalwood in the background keeps all going good in this scent

Don’t smell granny smith apple at all. Bitter orange is only fleeting an no mandarin. It’s more gourmand than fougere, ratio 3:1.
I like it. Not mind blowing but not worthy of the bottom of the drawer either.

Longevity 5/10 it’s good for the first two hours.

Had this juice back on 2010. And I really like it. It has a sweet nice opening. It has the similar vibe like Armani Black Code or Paco Rabanne one million. It performs really well on a tropical country. Not to mention that it is somewhat cheaper. 8/10 from me.

Okay, from what I read about the notes, like green apple, tea and “oceanic” notes you’d think it would be bright and airy but my nose is reading something a bit different. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not getting a dark scent but something ambery.
I know the list has no Amber but that’s what I get, just a little warm and comfortable manly scent. It sorta reminds me of Memoire by Ricci in the way it is light but gives off a more formal vibe.
Its been about 4 hours since I applied and it’s barely there on my skin now, bummer.
I really like it though.

Classic Black Jaguar is a really really good one from Jaguar , i had it for 3 years & i just finished it today ( consumed in 10 days I’m a row ) , although it dose not have a black paper note , i do gets it & i love it it’s really a well done one with all the components all together , grate for winter especially at night but i wore it every day , day & night for the past 10 days as i said earlier & it’s also suitable for work place as it gives a sophisticated image.

Jaguar Classic Black is more of a woody aromatic suited for the spring, summer and fall. It’s listed as an oriental fougere; and although Black is rather versatile and can be worn really any time of year or day; it shares nothing in common with oriental fougere fragrances. Black stays pretty linear throughout, dominated by a musky tea and oceanic vibe with luscious, tarty apple over the top and a tiny bit of spice that makes it rather full. On a superficial level, this is decent stuff: Projection is solid, longevity is consistently between 6-8 hours and its energy is very strong and masculine with a very green, leafy feel under the apple. Upon closer examination though, this is very synthetic stuff and can be rather cloying with more than two sprays.
Owning both Cerruti’s Image and Azzaro’s Chrome Legend, I can honestly tell you this is far more in the realm of the latter; with a strong, pungent apple accord that dominates the aromatic background and a very earthy core that smells better from a distance but doesn’t hold up as well if you resort to sniffing it frequently in close quarters; it’s honestly just too synthetic. It’s a great affordable alternative to Azzaro Chrome Legend; but given what a frequent visitor Azzaro Chrome Legend is to the bargain bins of your local discounter; doesn’t really have a niche in the industry beyond a beautifully designed bottle. It’s more synthetic than Azzaro Chrome Legend from side-by-side wearing and the tea and nutmeg elements do clash at times; making it a bit risky for those with sensitive sinuses. Decent, yes. Irrelevant? For the time being, yes. But if you like beautiful bottles and prefer its’ packaging to Azzaro Chrome Legend and don’t mind a bit more synthetic heart and base, you will find much to like about Jaguar Classic Black.

I like Jaguar fragrances every day more. The luxury idea linked to their cars – world renowned – makes our brain, immediately, mix the fragrance to the power and sophistication sensations. To make it better, the bottles use to be heavy and well done. In this case, the bottle bring the sobriety of the black with silver details and an engraved lid, alluding to their cars’ aerodynamic. Particularly, I can see myself inside a black XJ model, full of luxury and refinement.
The fragrance is rich of notes and starts out slightly sweet, with orange, green apple and mandarin. Then, shows a spicy facet with cardamom and nutmeg, along with a touch of geranium and black tea. Yet, in the heart, seawater nuances. At the end, its fougère side emerges with oakmoss and vetiver tones, allied to creamy notes of sandalwood, musk and tonka beans.
Altough its comparisons with Azzaro Chrome Legend, this one develops differently on the skin. Both of them share some notes but, while Azzaro is fruitier and more refreshing, with an aromatic characteristic, Jaguar has more presence and has no refreshing intention, especially because its spicy notes don’t allow it.
I consider it a luxury easy-to-wear scent, with very good projection and lasting power and that can be worn in any occasion or weather.

It’s reminds me azzaro chrome legend, but more wearable. Here the “metal” note is bit more weak. Sillage on my skin is good, 3 hours around. Longevity surprised 6+ hours around. Good alternative to replace chrome legend.
