Penhaligon’s produces very expensive perfumes, sometimes exceptional but sometimes scandalous. This is a perfume absolutely not recommended for 3 reasons:
-The fragrance evolves in a horrible way;
-The Vanilla-Cinnamon agreement does not bind and is bad;
-The fragrance costs a bang. Before buying it make sure you have a sample to try otherwise your wallet (first of all) and your nose will be affected a lot (not to mention those around you). It is among the worst perfumes for women smelled so far.

I really like many Penhaligon scents and own a couple. This exclusive range ,for me is far too pricey,so even if I fall in love I won’t be buying a bottle. Fortunately , I don’t like it….I cannot smell any patchouli….just too sweet for me.

Love amber scents but this one is not so amber. It is not as clean as amber but warmer, deeper and richer which makes it seductive. No wonder Lord George falls for her.

Oh, Clara that succubus. I tried really hard not to love her, but she kept beckoning. She’d send late night texts:
“I know you say you don’t like patchouli, but you’ll like *this* patchouli.”
“Rum ice cream isn’t really drinking.”
“You could sleep so much better with me.”
Sigh. She was about being irresistible, that’s for sure. I don’t find her boring at all, although the notes may seem simple. The scent is so beautifully balanced and has great longevity for me.
It also pairs incredibly nicely with a smidge of Jo Loves Smoked Plum & Leather.
Clara is the fragrance that has received the highest compliments, although that is not why I wear scent at all.

I so wanted to like something from Penhaligons but for years i had no luck.. and finally lady Clara arrives.
I tried some on my lunch break and didn’t like the opening but as the hours passed I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist, the layers of warmth and creaminess started revealing themselves still keeping the notes of spice. By the end of the day I liked it so much that I bought it the same day. So complex and ever-changing. Mysterious and sexy..

Clandestine Clara has my number. This fragrance has enthralled me with boozey swirls of amber, vanilla and patchouli. I think this will be my next full bottle, and has supplanted Elixir as my favorite from Penhaligon’s. I will spend this winter enfolded in layers of velvet, suede, silk, and utterly in the thrall of this bewitching Clara. With fire in my heart, I am ready to face the winter.

I tried it on this morning and I was very excited, as I love Penhaligon’s.
When I sprayed it on I thought “well, not bad, not outstanding but not bad”.
Then, after ten minutes, it developed into a too sweet, powdery smell that had nothing to do with the spicy opening. Nah, not for me.

I really like this one. It just works so well with my skin chemistry, and smells warm and inviting, a little bit smoky and more than a little bit sexy. One of my sweetie’s favourite perfumes too, he always comments when I wear it.

Reminiscent of Cacharel pour homme, but in a far more cloying and heavily patchouli polluted dusty kind of way.
Headache-inducing!
I miss releases like “Amaranthine” and “Ostara” that were ingenuine, idiosyncratic, FRENCH, and so much more creative.
This is just yet another attempt to please spend-hungry Arabs with a heavy, ugly, cloying scent that for once does not contain Oudh.
Still a miss from me. I also don’t like the new Puig takeover in terms of store designs or the fact they discontinue perfectly fine Duchauffour creations, just because they don’t sell (but I digress).

Not nearly as extravagant as the descriptions of the lady…based on that it’s boring, otherwise it’s just nice. I really wanted to love this because the peacock is absolutely adorable, second to Lord George..
