Description

“Inspired by a fresh scent with an almost golden chypre – one of the most important olfactory families of the perfumery. A simple and yet sophisticated fragrance created to adapt to a tropical climate. For this reason, its output is composed of a set of citrus fruits such as petit grain, sicilian lemon, bergamot and lime of the Persia, prolonging the freshness. In the body, there is an invigorating and tasty green tea next to the bamboo, continuing the chord green and fresh, but with hints of aquatic flowers, without altering its essence. At the base, nuances of oak and vetiver moss, refining and finalizing this predominantly fresh perfume and, at the same time, almost chypre, or not, a “modern chypre.” – a note from the brand.

Chypre Clair was launched in 2017. The nose behind this fragrance is Fábio Condé.

Truly impressive how well put together this scentt is, the photorealistic lime leading the juicy citrus cocktail at the opening is so invigorating,it makes my mouth salivate, merging into a heart built around green tea and bamboo all wrapped in futuristic smelling flowers of the aquatic variety, the overall aroma profile is intoxicating to the nose in the best posible way, I can close my eyes and easily picture angels flying over a crystalline river, perfuming the lotus flowers and greens resting over the calming waters.
Chypre Clair reads on my skin as classic meets modern, a timeless masterpiece, with a bohemian soul.
    Highly recommended.

Chypre Clair was launched in 2017 and had, as a creative concept, the intention to be a simple and sophisticated fragrance, adapted to the tropical climate of Brazil. It has notes of petitgrain, Sicilian lemon, bergamot and Persian lime on top. The body adds notes of green tea and bamboo, intertwined with nuances of aquatic flowers, over a dense base with notes of oak moss and vetiver. Positive point for the company, which brings the composition of their perfumes in the printed material, as well as at the official website on the internet.
Before discussing the evolution of the perfume and its behavior, it is worth explaining the following: the term Chypre came from a perfume launched in 1917 by François Coty under the name Chypre. Usually, fragrances of this type have hot and cold notes in contrast, such as citrus and moss. For example: bergamot (at the top) and oak moss (at the base).
Chypre Clair has a timeless style and will never go out of fashion in the universe of perfumes. The refreshing aspect of citrus fruit gains depth in contact with oak moss, which makes the fragrance heavier and helps to maintain, for a longer time, the fresh (and more volatile) aroma on the skin. In theory, it’s beautiful, right?
In practice, it is not a fresh fragrance with the smell of green tea. It is a fresh of green color and sour aspect, thanks to the use of petitgrain. It does not have the freshness of the juice, but of the barks, with all its acidity. Then, it seems that the perfumer realized that he needed to give a touch of softness in order to conquer the female audience as well, since the root of perfumery (especially the niche) claims for unisex fragrances. For this, he inserted the fresh, sweet and slightly moist nuances of the lotus flower. And he also tinted the olfactory pyramid with a touch of methyl ionone compound, which left a slight smell of violets.
Although not ideal and particularly not something I like to do, it is possible to trace a comparative aspect in Chypre Clair’s olfactory signature, which reminds me of Eau Sauvage (Dior), but evolves to the luminous beauty of Cristalle Eau Verte (Chanel).
Chypre Clair has an explosive projection at first, but this lasts a short time. In about two hours it gets closer to the skin. But in terms of durability, it manages to linger considerably, even in the heat. In my opinion, it is the right choice for anyone who wants to know the perfumes of the house, but does not like to invest in discovery kits.
It was the first fragrance I tested and, as they say, the first impression is the one that stays. On me, it was positive!

With every brand of niche that is born in Brazil, my heart can be filled with joy, because I truly realize that in our midst there is a lot to be valued in the perfumery segment and its equivalents.
In the face, Chypre Clair, for me it was revealed as a memorable fragrance which evoked noble and sincere sentiments of a maverick past that sent me many goodies and bucolic places that I will never forget. I attribute this feeling to the citrus outlet it has, a light but notorious Lemon, and petitgrain stalks alive that in a not so common fusion already manifest an unprecedented footprint of the universe of niche perfumery.
After 6 h, at least in me, the fragrance begins to dazzle your heart notes, an aquatic floral with fragrant nuances of fresh water, wet places and sod soaked by nearby; an odor of thin Green Tea protruding that together with the initial touches of Lemon form a tender marriage, worthy of appreciation.
At the base, it has a more aromatic dry bottom, but very airy due to the great citric influence that there is in all its evolutionary route until here. And it is exactly here that in me is evoked feelings of the past that are related to peace of mind and absolute well-being. Its Vetiver is well defined and round, with a smoked characteristic, warm and at the same time greenish, in front of an earthy perception added to the fixation and rustic ability of Oak Moss for “chypradas” fragrances.
It is very worthwhile to allow yourself to face this fragrance, to experience it, to re-experience and to continue to test always and always, because it is an insight about what is so magnificent that is still to come.
