Description

Avon continues to collaborate with the French high fashion house Christian Lacroix (the collaboration started in 2007) and presents a new fragrant pair which includes the fragrances Bijou and Bijou pour Homme. The concept is “inspired by the vision that no haute couture piece is complete without the inclusion of a jewel.”

Bijou is a sweet, vanilla scent from the family of oriental – gourmand fragrances. The composition includes notes of sparkling Italian mandarin, Ambrosia apple and Bartlett pear in the top; vanilla orchid, Arabian jasmine and gardenia in the heart; and spiced star anise, sandalwood, Madagascar vanilla and musk at the base.

It is available as a 50 ml Eau de Parfum. Christian Lacroix Bijou was launched in 2015.

I was given a small bottle. Fruity, flowery, with a chic edge. It’s ok, in a similar vein as Coco Mademoiselle and La Vie eat Belle and even Lady Million. But a little more on the fruity sweet side.
Not really my cup of tea, although I have used it as a lovely bed linen spray.
There is something common about it. Like many generic mass produced perfumes which are often wafting in public spaces and private. If you like to smell like everyone else, this is another good one.

This one is really nice on me. Lasts.
Nice bottle. Anise note is pretty, not
    over done.

It has a Coco Chanel Mademoiselle vibe going on in the beginning, but turns into a deeper, heavier vanilla and anise scent. It reminds me a bit of Diesel Loverdose .. the drydown could be a Lolita Lempicka fragrance. Projects well and last long. The bottle is amazing as well – a true little gem (a bijou!) from Avon and Lacroix .

Like it. Really reminds me of Diesel’s Loverdose (star anise, vanilla) and lasts longer on fabric.

Hmmm Avon, you didn’t need this failure.
I was looking forward to this one. Based on notes and lovely bottle I thought this will be perfect spring scent.
Gave it a try few times, but didn’t menage to understand at all.
Opening is very sweet. Notes are easily detectable because they are out of balance: each stands for itself, there is no blending into one smooth, creamy unity.
There are flowers on one side, pear on other, shy anis here and there, and loads of sugar so sweet that just stands completely alone and away from everything else. Some vanilla, and in the background very quiet sandalwood. That is it.
After 40 minutes the sweetness is gone, after 2 hours everything else is gone.
If anyone wants it I am happy to exchange full bottle (for about anything).

For me this has a slightly sour opening with a detection of pear which comes off a little synthetic. Then i get the vanilla/anise. It is sweet with subtle powder. Its not bad & ive smelt worse higher end scents. Sits close on the skin & agree its a safe day scent with a tiny twist to it. As with all perfumes, it will be different on everyone.

On my skin it smells so different than paper strip… Vanilla icing, spiced pear cake, cloud of sweet tobacco smoke and vanilla orchid and licorice mixed in there. I didn’t get fruit, nor white florals. It’s powdery, soft spicy and sweet, would suit someone who likes Black Opium but are on tighter budget. Unfortunately my skin has a tendency to amplify sweetness, so it is a bit too much for me. Perfect for gourmand lovers.
Amazing lasting power and sillage is good, as one spray on my wrist was too much for me and I could smell it all day wafting around me.

For me it’s a dupe for Black Opium EDT. Smells delicious, young and girly. Starts very citrusy at the opening, then comes the orchid, vanille and the star anise. The pear and green apple give a fresh vibe to the whole composition. Sillage is nice too. I don’t know why it is categorized as a powdery fragance. For me it’s a slightly sweet fruity floral. Inoffensive and pleasant daytime perfume. A winner!

This one is a winner! i totally adore the combo of scents, its indeed a gourmand oriental floral vanilla, very interesting, stylish-kind, subtle but yet with force.

I can’t decide if I like this or not.
It is nice, sweet floral, quite fresh. Totally wearable for any occasion.
On the other hand, it is not much different from the current sweet florals out there.
The combination Christian Lacroix and Avon’s Rouge for me was very very good and it made me want to try this. Lets say this one is closer to Far Away Bella than to Rouge and its flankers.
I have only tried a spritz on my arm, I will try again and wear it “properly” but I more inclined to give it away.
Second thoughts… Not to wear in any occasion, I don’t think its a going out/glamorous perfume. More like casually nice.

I have a friend working as a Avon consultant.
She gave me a sprizz off Bijou on my wrist and there it was!
    Just like Parisian chic.
Little more flowery and lighter but just the same.
I adore Parisian chic and i don’t know if it’s really wise to purchase this anymore.
    …??…
