This is actually not as sugary sweet as I had expected. It’s slightly bitter and nutty … Which I actually prefer, personally (dark chocolate over milk chocolate all the way!). I think it smells very yummy, and I’d say that it’s a good comfort scent (not one I’d wear out).
I tried the perfume, but opted against getting it. I bought the body scrub and the lotion back when they came out, and I think it was the right decision since I think this works best as a “skin scent” rather than one with crazy sillage.
When I had the lotion, I would layer the original Britney Spears Fantasy over it, and it was a FABULOUS combination. Britney Spears Fantasy is another fragrance that I only wore around the house when I owned it (since I viewed it as a “night in, cozy” perfume).
This isn’t what I would choose to smell like in public, but as a cozy scent for a night in from the cold weather, I thought that this was fun to wear while I had it.

It smells like dark chocolate and has a ancient candel smell which makes it perfect for winter! But I think this is kinda of a male perfume(it reminds me of hot coca!<3)…

I find this great for winter days, especially when I have used Cocoa Butter on my skin, it is warm and comforting and it has something a little spicy going on too.

I didn’t like this so much at first, but the three bottles I bought on clearance seem to’ve improved over time. Originally, whatever base liquid they were using (probably the alcohol) had an overpowering scent and drowned out the chocolate – now the chocolate has come to the surface, and it smells yummy! Pity it’s discontinued and I only bought three – at RM 15 each (about £2.70), I would’ve bought their entire stock if I’d known the scent would turn into this!
It does make you smell like a Mars bar, though.

    Not really my fav..

I regret so much it is not for sale anymore! The sheer scent of chocolate used to be my cold season signature one, very pleasant for cold and rainy autumn days.

This is neither nutty, milky, overly sweet nor powdery. To my nose, this is a quite musky dark chocolate, with an almost salty, slightly masculine feel to it. I love it and it’s so different compared to my other chocolate favourites.
It’s like nothing I’ve encountered, except it brings to mind the fruity and sporty Jil Sander Sun Delight, which is in no way a dupe, but contains a chocolate note that reminds me of this.

Nice basic chocolate. If you like gourmands this is worth trying. Not overly sweet. Layered with BBW Peppermint body mist, it is amazing in winter. People will want to devour you.

I really love Chocomania. My bottle was purchased last year and it’s almost empty which says alot because I do have a sizeable perfume collection. To me, it’s the perfect balance of chocolate and sweetness and it’s just wonderful to wear in cool weather. If you’re a chocolate lover it’s a must try.

It really smells chocolate. But it’s not the best chocolate that I know in fragrances. Simple, but chocolate.

it’s really like chocolate, and has some scent of coconut. If you are a dessert lover, you can give it a try:)

I only managed to find this last one in the Body Butter; as Chocomania was limited edition and now completely sold out in my country. This smells exactly like milk chocolate, a bit nutty like hazelnut, and a richer and more delicious version of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter. I love how the scent lingers on your skin for hours. Very comforting and not too sweet. Great for layering too!

I got this in a sale for £4.50 and its great for a cheap fragrance. To me it is a perfume version of very rich cocoa butter, like palmers. Very nice

This opens heavy on the coconut with a sprinkle of sweet nutty cocoa powder.
    It’s pretty tasty!
Coconut isn’t listed here but she’s definitely in the mix.
I’m still on the hunt for that deep/rich chocolate bar smell and even though Chocomania isn’t what I thought it would be, I still really like it.
I’m going to layer with Choco Musk and see what happens 🙂

Smells exactly the way dark chocolate with spices tastes. Sexy and inviting.

Musky cocoa, not quite as gourmand as I thought it would be. Definitely could be worn by men. Longevity is good for a body shop perfume. A little too musky for me, but my skin does tend to amplify musk / patchouli.

I have just bought this…It is like dark chocolate with warming spices..It is perfect for winter, I tend to like cocoa butter lotion for the winter, and it all blends so nicely…

This is the first chocolate scent I ever tried and it’s actually quite interesting. I first discovered the “Chocomania” body butter (delicious!) and later I found out there was a fragance from the same line.
It’s a pretty simple chocolate scent that stays quite linear, but it’s not an overly sweet praliné chocolate, it’s a more like a warm chocolate scent with a touch of sweetness, but not too much.
The drydown is a bit sweeter than the opening and it lasts for a pretty long time, although it doesn’t project too much. Overall, it’s an interesting fragance that I would describe like a warm gourmand, pretty close to an actual chocolate scent and not overly sweet. If you want a truly yummy experience, use it with the body butter (and I LOVE the “Chocomania” shower gel!).

I didn’t care much for this serie but it started to grow on me for the shower just before going to bed. I love to smell myself lying under my duvet. Now it is being discontinued and I have bought to storage. The eau de toilette smells nice and complement the other products in the serie but I don’t think I’ll use it for other than a going to bed scent. I’ll see. I have several of series from The Body Shop and I use each at a specific time. I won’t use the Chocomania serie for daytime but it’s wonderful to relax and going to bed with.

Beautiful and the body lotion is also gorgeous to wear, it is really good for a pick me up, when it is getting darker out side and winter is coming…It is a warm, comforting scent. Not too sweet and sickly, like the vanilla scents often are.

I was surprised by this scent. It’s deep dark cocoa, with a hint of musk. Almost masculine and also with a watery tone to it. Smells nice when paired with other fragrances that have more heavy gourmand notes, as long as it isn’t added too heavily and you let the other fragrance be the dominate one. The dry down is nice and soft. This is a long wearing fragrance, and I’ve mixed it with a few of my scents. I have mixed it with Honeymania from the Body Shop and it was very nice, but it might depend on your chemistry too.
I find it to be a very sexy scent, without being too in your face.

this is dark bitter chocolate sweetened up a bit by sugar. I like the dry down a lot. it ends up distinctly chocolate mixed with a faint woody, light smoke scent. this lasts all day on me after 4 sprays.

Chocomania smells like creamy chocolate cake. Luckily, it’s not as sweet as you might think. It smells like bitter chocolate.
This is a great body butter/shower cream scent, but I wouldn’t buy this fragrance.

Chocomania smells really nice on me. It goes through a lot of interesting stages while it dries down. I smell many more notes in this than those mentioned. The scent starts off like a very dark raw chocolate with something that reminds me of a sweet floral note. Then it dries down to a very intense, warm, almost earthy stage that still smells heavily of dark chocolate, but also something I interpret to be amber and patchouli. The scent changes again and goes into a very innocent, childlike milk chocolate stage. It smells like Nesquik or O’Boy chocolate milk – very sweet and creamy. After a while it moves into a more varm amber-like stage again, but this time it also has a vanillic note. This chocolate/amber/vanilla-trio stays on my skin quite long, as a smooth and sensual finish. Very pleasant and really yummy. I like it.

its..just…wrong.for my skin..it turned out like the scent of hell. im not even in a bad mood but this scent i do not recommend, there must be better chocolate scents for sure!

Recieved my new bottle of Chocomania today.
There is chocolate there but, to my nose, it is on the first spray and very fleeting! I would say it’s a very very rich milk chocolate – more going towards dark, really.
Choco. then dries down into something that very much reminds me of Avon Sassy Swirls Vanilla Bean – a little perfume that I really liked (for a change, for Avon)and can’t get hold of any more.
Yes, I agree that this frag. is very ‘beachy’. Not sure about coconut but there’s a very strong suntan lotion-y element to it.
I’d be interested to get opinions from ‘smellers’ around me when I’m wearing Chocomania, to see if they can detect chocolate past the point where I can – in the sillage.
I wouldn’t classify this as a particularly spicy or ‘sweet’ fragrance.
Update, 19/08/14, I’m wearing this tonight and now it smells really incense-y – like Nag Champa!

This smells really yummy like a milk chocolate bar with a slightly nutty aroma. The scent lasts a lot longer when paired with the body butter.

i went to buy some more chocomania and i was told it will be discontinued so stock up now because this scent is amazing and its on sale for 7 bucks! I am heartbroken cause i really love this but i have a few back ups but still why discontinue something so good?

Oh yes, very yummy indeed… again this is not the longest lasting of perfumes out there but small enough to pop into your bag and refresh if needed. Imagine a cold Autumn afternoon, log fire on or heater burning, spritz this on your neck -open a tin of milk chocolate digestive biscuits and share amongst friends…be careful they don’t nibble you 😉

I just got in the EDT and layered this with the oil & this smells soo good..i am very attracted to this scent as much as Montale..just like the oil.If you are a nut fan you will love this one.It smells like a chocolate bar with nuts in it and the nuts give it such a nice sweetness. What it really is is the oil’s they are putting in this stuff. They have purposefully put more oils in the Chocomania line to make it more moisturizing than any of their other products that they have put out so this is why it has a slight nutty sweet smell to it and plus they added sugarcane in the EDT and i would think they did the same for the rest of the product line too if they all smell similar. The oil’s used are Marula,Sweet Almond & Kukui oil’s. It is a deeper chocolate than chocolovers because chocolovers has hazelnut, orange and coriander but their mixture is a bit brassy and spicy but its still good..Chocomania on the other hand is smoother because of the oils used with the chocolate and it is more true to being closer to Chocolate, not exactly but very close with the sweet nutty vibe. The rich oils really remind me of beach scents. It kinda has that beachy vibe going on and since it does then you can use it at the beach. I know most don’t think of Chocolate in the summer because it is dense but this is actually border-lining in that area so i think it can be done because Coconut is just as rich as Chocolate in my opinion..the oil goes on rich but dries fast as to not really leave an extreme oil residue afterwards like most do but i layered it together with the EDT & butter and there is a really nice sillage cloud on top of your skin being really shiny and moisturized.
After testing this against Montale’s Chocolate Greedy Montale really does have that darker chocolate slightly minty cake vibe going on while Chocomania has a Chocolate bar with sweet nuts vibe going on. So if you want the cake smell go with Montale it’s intense..if you want the nutty chocolate bar smell go with Chocomania…both are great..and Chocomania layered is intense too and as long as i can smell it that is what truly makes me happy…Montale i can tell you lasts forever.. so for a chocolate lover you must get that one for sure but i equally love Chocomania even more than Chocolover’s . Longevity varies from 2-4 hours tops so you would have to respray but the scent is so nice i don’t mind having it on me really. They are my top two in the chocolate area for right now.If they ever make a more Chocolate mint fragrance from the Montale or The Body Shop line i might be apt to love that more but Montale does have a slight minty-ness to it that i love. But i am very satisfied with both..the key to Chocomania is layer. I think i am done with my Chocolate phase now. 🙂

This smells like Nesquik to me. I was looking for a pick me up scent(as in make me happy, not for attracting male species) and who would have thought I would find it at an inexpensive price in The Body Shop. It’s chocolate powder (not too much powder ala Teint de Neige), not too sweet and not too dark, but just right. This scent is straight to the point- chocolate, has no added complexities to wax lyrically about and delivers on longevity (I’m serious, it’s lasted my entire work day no problem and no spray touch ups done, we are going on the 11th hour now). Sillage(perhaps due to fatigue) wavers between soft to moderate throughout the day. At this price point, Chocomania is a steal.

Opens nice and chocolatey but it quickly becomes sourish and nutty – like musky coconut – 🙁

I cannot understand how I can love the smell and taste of chocolate but then when I smell it in body products such as butters and fragrances – I just hate it.

The Body Shop Chocomania is an interesting dark chocolate soli-note fragrance. It’s less milky and less sweet than Comptoir Sud Pacifique Amour de Cacao and Parfumerie Générale Musc Maori. And it’s less bitter and less boozy than Serge Lutens Borneo 1834. It kind of fills the void between these two type of chocolate scents, simply adorable and utterly approachable. However, when the chocolate scent gradually fades away, a wax texture is revealed, as if at the end of a chocolate-scented candle it loses its fragrance and smells of candle wax, of which I’m a bit disappointed. The same kind of disappointment when you finished two thirds of a big cup of Starbucks Frappuccino and you sucked off all the flavour, the rest of ice is tasteless compared to the earlier treat.
The sillage is soft, and the longevity is around 7 hours on me, which is quite good among The Body Shop soli-note EDT. Personally, I find the wax note in the later stage too disturbing to wear Chocomania alone. But its simplicity and dark chocolate aroma makes it very interesting to layer. For instance, I layered it with Bvlgari BLV Notte pour Femme. The result didn’t blow me away, but is indeed an improvement of BLV Notte to my liking. Chocomania boosts the chocolate note in BLV Notte and makes it warmer, while BLV Notte rounds out the wax note. I’d thus recommend it as an occasional chocolate fix or to have some fun experimenting layering with other fragrances.

A chocolate mousse like scent. Like Sissi75 says reminiscent of Chocolovers, but Chocomania is not as rich and has this muddy/earthy note. Quite pleasant if you dont like very sweet choc scents.

I bought this on line on november, without smelling it before(I have not a Body shop in my town), because I was very courious: I love gourmand fragrances with notes of chocolate, vanilla, sugar,ecc.. This fragrance is very sweet, reminds me of “Aquolina Chocolovers”, but has not the same nutty note. It also reminds me to “Cioccolato mon amour”, but Chocomania is more sweet, less dark! sorry for my bad English… I’m from Italy! : )
