I got this scent for free with a subcription to a magazine for teenagegirls: Fancy, way back in 1996. I loved the scent. Especially the caramel about it. When I wore it, it made me feel like a real trendy girl and it was the perfect scent for 19 year old me.
I forgot all about this scent. Untill today, my supervisor at work wore Bonbon by Victor and Rolf today, another scent that smells like delicious caramel. That reminded me of another caramel scent that I used to love: Chipie!
I also loved the bottle, it was really distinct from all other perfume bottles and what I also loved about it, every size had it own shaped bottle!
I see that people think that Moment de Bonheur and Quelque Notes D’Amour by Yves Rocher remind them of this scent, but I strongly disagree with that, for me the caramel defined this scent and there are no caramelnotes in either one of them. I don’t like my Moment de Bonheur anymore, I find the opening too sharp and the scent too cold. I put my 50 ml for sale online, after I only used this bottle once, for € 15,-, while it is on sale now for € 33,-, 40% off at Yves Rocher, but unfortunately, nodbody is interested. I never really liked Quelque Notes D’Amour and I sold that bottle last month online for € 10,-, after I barely used it over a year. But they both miss the warmth and the sweet caramel of Chipie.
Bonbon by Victor & Rolf, a high end scent, is the first fragrance ever that made me remember Chipie.

Chipie was great.
Liquid candy floss.
It smelled just lovely.
I had Chipie Purple (Chipie plus EXTRA sugar) and Chipie Green (Chipie with slightly less sugar), too, and I loved them all.

Sweet and fresh, lovely!

“This fragrance was called Chipie Princess, there were also two other fragrances, Chipie Purple and Chipie Green.”
–> Not correct, these were later. The first one was named ‘Chipie’. See add above. I still have some empty bottles of this + packaging.
Great smell, sparkling, fresh and flowery. A real treat on a summer’s day.
