right off it’s “whoa, cinnamon!” it actually burned my nostrils slightly, haha. the cinnamon calms down a bit and it’s very obviously a vanilla scent with patchouli and cinnamon. it seems the cinnamon and patchouli vie for attention further down the line, and the patchouli moments win, at least for me. i kind of like this, but it’s just a bit too cinnamony overall.

I get tons of cinnamon with light patch and vanilla. It’s a lovely scent but does not pack to big of a punch. As mentioned the sillage is average at best and longevity as well. I have had it on for 5 hours and have to sniff my wrists to get a hint of it. I do like it but for that reason it’s more of a like than love for me. Hopefully the performance will be better for you.

I’m not much of a vanilla fan. On me, vanilla becomes cloying, overpowering, and sickly sweet. BUT – this one is nice. The patchouli and cinnamon tame and subdue the vanilla. It’s still very much a vanilla scent and it is the main player. However, the vanilla doesn’t dominate the other notes.
Sillage is OK and longevity is very good.

To me this just smells like 100% straight up chai latte. It’s hard for me to differentiate notes in this because all I can smell is chai latte (I believe the kind you get from tastefully simple). It’s like a warm, slightly spicy, creamy vanilla. I will definitely be using this a lot around christmas time as it feels warm and brings back good memories. 8/10

I can see why Chile Vanilli is one of Smell Bent’s best sellers. It really is delicious, definitely my kind of spicy gourmand.
Cinnamon and patchouli are the most dominant accords on my skin, presented in a way that is both sweet and thick. The patchouli note is more chocolatey than earthy in Chile Vanilli, so in a sense it may remind some people of Thierry Mugler’s Angel.
This fragrance’s sweetness is well-balanced, so it is in no way headache-inducing. It’s a fun fragrance, and fairly unisex. I would more than likely wear Chile Vanilli during Autumn and Winter.
Towards the drydown, Chile Vanilli smells a tad medicinal, but in a way that is not unpleasant. I have to agree that a majority of Smell Bent oils have a distinctive head-shop smell, an aroma that is not absent in Chile Vanilli’s drydown.
For a rather inexpensive oil, Chile Vanilli has excellent sillage and longevity. Brent Leonesio is a very skilled and creative perfumer. I’m absolutely loving his work.

    65) I would say that here the line between a gourmand perfume and too scented pastry was taken. My stomach says Nonono.

Wonderful combination of patchouli, cinnamon, and vanilla! Sweet and spicy! Just a great scent in the winter time, my three favorites all in one! 🙂 Definitely need to get a full bottle of this!

This is a spicy patchouli and vanilla. I truly adore patchouli fragrances lately, and I was excited to try this one. There’s lots and lots of patchouli and it’s sweet and exotic, so I have warned you!
For those people, who like it, but find it too heavy on patchouli, try La Vaniglia by Bois 1920.

Soft, silky vanilla infused with gorgeous, shimmering cinnamon, and earthy but transparent patchouli make for a warm and pleasant experience. When you first apply Chile Vanilli the earthy, slightly dirty patchouli dominates. Shortly thereafter a soft and sweet vanilla/cinnamon swirl takes center stage and the patchouli note softens and takes a back seat. The cinnamon in this fragrance is brilliant, and it gets even better as time passes.

There is something dirty lurking in smell bent’s scents. While I bought a FB of Incensed, I seem to choke on the other 10+ samples due to overwhelmingly dirty patchouli or musk. This is no exception. Starts out a little spicy…spicy like hot sauce, not like spice pantry…and then swiftly gets swallowed by the big green monster- patchouli! A tsunami of earthy, pungent patchouli sickeningly sweetened by vanilla washes over the cinnamon hot peppers. Maybe this is a zombie perfume?

I’m testing on paper tonight, so I can test all 16 samples I received today.
This reminds me of Andy Tauer’s 01 Le Maroc Pour Elle even though the patch is the only similar note. The patchouli takes center stage here, but I really like how the vanilla “creamy’s” it up. And yes, after letting the paper dry out a bit, I’m getting that cinnamon!
This reminds me of Seattle’s Pike Place Market. I described that market in my review of Tauer’s 01… and the cinnamon in Brent’s creation really does bring that sense memory back. I wonder how it would be if I oversprayed them onto each other… YUMMY!
I like how you can pull the notes out as you smell this. I love being able to do that. It helps me understand what I like and do not like. And I also love how the blending of those individual notes is a creation unto itself.
I’m gonna give his one a 10/10 for scent.
Sillage and Longevity ratings will need to wait as I do a proper skin testing over a period of days. And with 16 samples… I’d say it’ll be a while before I’m back to finish this one.
Later: This really reminds me a lot of a cleaner, less “lazy” CK Obsession. Obsession is fat and rolley-polley (sp?) and sorta hangs around in a heavy cloud (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE btw)… where Chile Vanilli is brighter in the cinnamon aspects. It feels less heavy, and really, truth be told, makes me smile. A comfy scent, but almost like CK Obsession after a really healthy diet. Some may not find the CK Obsession relation at all. It’s just my interpretation. I did end up ordering this in a FB, btw. Too yummy to pass up.

    Scent – 10/10
    Projection -8/10
    Longevity -10/10
    Value -10/10
    Overall -38/40
When I got this sample I thought, “that might be alright”. Boy was I wrong; it is AMAZING. I can’t get over how good this juice smells. I definatly get a root beer accord with this. A*Men is in serious jeopardy of loosing its “signature sent” status with this one. It projects well, and I’m getting 10+ hours on my skin. Definitely gourmand, and I do see some similarities to A*Men in that sense, which might also explain the apparent love/hate relationship people will have with this one. If you like cinnamon, vanilla, and patchouli, this is worth every penny.

Chile Vanilli is a quite tamed nice vanilla perfume with a shy, vanilla-tea kinda personality. The opening is really muted cinnamon and a little bit creamy chai-tea type of vanilla hint. I’m trying the perfume oil, not sure is it because it’s in oil form, Chile Vanilli has nearly zero sillage, unless I put my nose really close to my skin, I cannot smell it. Somehow it smells quite similar to Starbuck’s coffee here in Australia (as in, not much coffee smell at all, in comparison with any coffee you can get from a Cafe), precisely a venti soya Cappuccino (so…basically, nearly no coffee smell due to the large amount of soy milk ratio to the espresso shot) with some nugmet and cinnamon powder(for the muted-cinnamon-y smell there).
Chile Vanilli is quite linear, the only change occurs with time is that, the cinnamon spicy scent gets rounder and more tamed, and the underline shy vanilla smell somehow finally got through and the whole perfume become a lovely mouth-watering vanilla kinda ice-cream concoction with a tiny bit spicy touch.
Lovely, delicious scent to try, and it’s a perfume you can put on without worrying much about it. Recommended to vanilla, ice cream, cinnamon lovers who want something with little sillage.

“Oriental Spicy” is exactly the right classification for this scent. When I was in high school, my best friend was Korean, and going into the Korean store with her smelled just like this. It is very spicy and pungent, but not unpleasantly so, with a strange thread of sweetness running underneath. As it dries down, the vanilla becomes stronger, but it still smells like exotic spices and bundles of dried, earthy, “who knows what.” My sister smelled it on me and said, “Ooo, you have GOT to get a bottle of that.” I’m not convinced it’s for me, but it’s pretty nice. Unusual for sure.
