This is a pleasant light scent for warm weather daytime. I like it but I don’t like its sillage and projection which are both soft. Longevity is low-moderate.
First of all this scent is not for the hardcore watermelon lovers. If you love this note stay away from CH Chic. After only 1 hour and I get only a faint green cinnamon. Very generic vibe. Big dissapointment.

Well all the talk about watermelon got me to bye a bottle. I have to say. It is basically summer here in Houston and I was ready. Cologne is different for every man. Chemistry and stuff. I did not smell anything like watermelon. That was the only reason I bought it. I don’t know what happened but it makes me nauseated in the dry down. Could I have received an expired bottle or a fake. Maybe I was looking for pure watermelon like Cool water summer such and such. For me it was a bad blind by.

Although sexy, I disagree with it being a night scent (although it would be a nice date option). The warmth of the day really brings the notes out. Just got this, and while I haven’t given it enough time to write a full review, I will say that it bears similarities to 212 Men right off the bat. The watermelon, im guessing, gives it that classic 212 “fresh cut green grass” note that everybody loves. I will also note that this is about half as potent as 212. For me anyway. Not a bad thing, i love 212, but I was expecting something different. The 212 glam under the reminds me was me and was an accident. I also find Chic to be a bit sweeter than 212, but not sweet like a scent made to smell sweet. Its good, bind but worthy. Good for warm or mildly cool fall days, while 212 may be better suited for spring to summer days.

I have a bottle from release its much darker I stopped wearing because spritzer broke it drew massive compliments and smelled amazing had the best dry down ever. I wore it alone just to smell myself it was that good.
I reordered and just thought I didn’t like it anymore.
Today I fixed the spritzer on my old one and my god it’s still awesome the reform sucksssssss compared to original why did they ruin it?
I am not one to complain about reforms but the new one is so boring and washed down. If you get this make sure it’s the dark bottle.
I see complaints about longevity it has great longevity however the reform one is a skin scent so it makes sense to see the complaints
To me my favorite note in this is the pepper they use its so unique and shines as it drys down
If anyone has any recommendations on a better pepper frag to replace this with since reform occurred please let me know because I’m running out of my 2003 bottle

Sun was out the other day so I gave this a wearing. All I can say was that I was pleasantly reminded of how great this scent is. I am constantly struggling to find a more versatile freshie. Citruses are of course common in any fresh scent but, in the instance of Carolina Herrara’s Chic, citruses are paired with a bit of watermelon and spices and presto we get the versatility I was looking for. Chic isn’t the ultimate day time night time feel good hit of the summer. Chic is more that spring/summer top down sporty fragrance that stays with you all day during a wearing and leaves you enveloped in a lovely spicy, musky aura
The opening is really fresh and very citrusy, with a light essence of watermelon and a good heap of cinnamon. The citrus swirls and swirls with the watermelon and cinnamon for a good duration and then finally the pepper arrives giving the scent another salvo of spice before the scent segues into its’ sweet, woody, amber, musky base. Chic is a unique scent and does the job you’d expect of a scent of this caliber. Chic’s longevity is decent and can last even longer with a few extra sprays. Chic works best in warmer temperatures and could be worn during the day or at night. This scent fits perfectly in that summer vacation rotation or simply for weekend use. Chic is perfect for someone in their mid twenties to their early forties who need a unique fragrance for fun summer or springtime outings.
Chic is a solid fragrance that performs adequately, while offering a versatility that a lot of these types of scents simply do not. The opening and the dry down of Chic are truly unique and worth the asking price alone (Chic is a steal at its’ current price point!). Chic would work perfectly with a polo and shorts combo, especially after a day at the beach. Give Chic a spray when you feel relaxed, slightly sunburnt or perfectly tanned from lying at the beach or pool all day and it is time for phase two; beers, cocktails and a night on the town!

CH Chic opens with a citrus melon sweetness, very likable and versatile. You can dress this up or down, it’s going to be appealing to pretty much everyone who smells it on you. The drydown brings in some spices and it’s nice. It projects pretty good too, and has above average longevity for this kind of scent.

I love this scent it’s my personal favorite to wear when I’m alone. The peppery dry down is fantastic omg I can’t say it enough. Every time I wear this I get compliments as well. The spritzer breaks easy be careful, the new bottle the juice is much lighter for some reason and does not smell as intense so they must have re formulated however it’s still the same scent just needs an extra spray.
Again This has the best dry down Out of all the colognes I own.
10/10 for the amazing scent hours later that I can’t get enough of

Testing this scent in Winter did nothing for me. The whole thing was just too cool, impersonal and not much substance to in all honesty. Almost decided to sell the bottle. Then, as luck would have it, tried it again when the weather warmed up a notch. The difference was like night and day. Gone was the inept and banal dryness in the winter air. Now, somehow with a warmer weather system and this scent has taken off and is not looking back. There is this endlessly enjoyable fresh airiness wafting from CH Chic for hours which can only delight anyone close enough to experience. So clean it is uplifting and gives that confidence of being welcome anywhere.
I had thought CH for men was impossible to follow. Now, CH Chic shows they can do it again and again. Two thumbs up for this fragrance. An absolutely addictive fragrance gem.

Chic For Men Carolina Herrera is a good one from Herrera , it’s a fact that I can’t dedect any watermelon as all I can defect is black pepper , sandalwood, cedar but I like the smell beside the nice bottle design & the affordable price with moderate longevity & projection.

Chic was purchased with the hopes of a owning a truly “watermelon” dominated fragrance. There’s no detectable watermelon.
However, the pepper oil note in this is very tantalizing. All I get is a very refreshing, iced lemon/citrus feel backed up with spice and woods. It’s very, very nondescript and linear. I have the original formula – black sides. The longevity is average – 4-6 hours. No projection or sillage.
Chic is a very masculine, traditional fragrance for men. However, if I had a chance to sample this I never would have blind bought it for $40..

First off, I feel the description of this is hilarious – it goes off on how “very masculine” thus is and how it’s for a refined gentleman and so on… It’s none of these, it is a deliciously sweet and fluffy synthetic scent that would likely appeal to teens posing as adults. Don’t get me wrong, I love this scent as it is quite reminiscent of Acqua di Gio but with the sweetness turned up to 11! It has a playful fizzy accord that melds the citrus and melon notes quite well. To me, this smells like a store that sells fragrant melon sorbet, spiced cola, and has some fragrant wood flooring. I’m not even going to try and dissect the notes – it’s an amalgam of sweet, spiced woods and it works! It hangs around for a good 8 hours or so and would definitely work on a woman who enjoys woody scents and sweets. The drydown is just a vague fizzy wood that is very similar to the fizzy goodness of Moschino Uomo (a much cheaper and equally great fume) – great for teens and those young at heart! I hope you all find something transcendental – even the smallest moment can move you if you’re open to it!

This reminds of the original CH 212 background with a fruity melon upfront. Very good scent, not to heavy (3 sprays) and it’s going strong 4 hrs later. I’m sure if you’d spray a few more times everyone would think you’re the weird “cologne guy” The melon transitions nicely into this sweet pepper wood smell. It’s very smooth, besides being a little harsh when first sprayed. The cinnamon is hiding somewhere in the background just adding a little accent to the other notes. It doesn’t really stand out at all. Overall i think this a good scent to have and appreciate, it would definitely serve it’s purpose. Day or night, any season besides maybe a really cold winter day. I just feel it may become very sharp and cause a headache.

Anyone knows the mosquito repellent called “OFF” from the 80s ??? That’s what this reminds me “off” and that was why I originally bought it lol! I lived in West Africa during my childhood , and my mother would never let us go play outside in the garden in the afternoons without first spraying OFF.
Don’t know how regular people wear this perfume. It must be an acquired taste.
My bottle is empty now, but wouldn’t buy another one, I just keep it as a souvenir in my cupboard 🙂
If I am not mistaken, 212 shares a similar DNA, not sure which notes give it that vibe, that synthetic smell….
(PS: I don’t know if the current OFF still smells the same, but I am referring to the bottles we used back in the 80s. I also bought this perfume when it first came out a long time ago, so I don’t know if it was reformulated since.)

I dont get Watermelon “Per se”, but i do get fruits that give off the same fruity vibe that you would find in Creed Millesime Imperial, or Sean John Unforgivable.
The Musky dry down is amazing.
This is a lovely fragrance for a spring evening out. Its not a T-shirt fragrance. It would come off well with a nice collar shirt & jeans. I wouldnt wear it on a date, but its a nice casual fragrance.

One of the Fore-Fathers of the modern day “best selling” generics, Chic by Carolina Herrera is a a fruity, woody, spicey concoction that is a very people friendly scent. What automatically draws you in is this synthetic but watery watermelon along with other citrus notes and a supportive cardamom. The watermelon, the feature of this scent in my opinion, is not authentic but it’s pleasant nonetheless. Though synthetic one still gets the impression of “JUICY” when experiencing the opening. Watermelon notes aren’t as common in men’s perfumery as lime, lemon, orange or grapefruit so it really stands out to me here. CH makes very green sweet frags and this is very reminiscent of 212.
When this scent came out in 2003 the industry was moving on from the fresh, aquatic era of the 90’s into a more woody place. Gucci Pour Homme was released along with Mont Blanc’s Individuel and Escada’s Magnetism, all complex woody scents. However a couple scents went rogue Chic and Polo Blue decided to go to a simpler place with their inspiration and both were slapped with the label “GENERIC”. Both Chic and Polo Blue are classified as woody scents but like Bleu de and Sauvage (in it’s brief opening at least), they come across as fruity frags. Polo Blue was able to persevere commercially regardless being associated with the Polo brand which during those times was one of the most in demand brands in the US (still is to an extent). Still one could argue CHIC, may have been released either too late or in the case of the current dumbed down era of Perfumery, too soon to stand out or make a serious impact in the fragrance game. It’s a scent that many people overlook.
If Chic were released today in a striking but classy bottle and had a proper ad campaign attached to it like Versace, Gucci or Chanel does for their frags I would have no doubt that it would be a hit for the house. It would be a direct competitor to Bleu De and Sauvage especially in it’s older formulation when it was a lot more potent. But even as the light but versatile scent it currently is it would be hard for consumers to pass up on that very pleasant opening. That’s how Blue de and Sauvage catches a lot of people and Chic’s opening while familiar or “generic” as the others are, would be very appealing to a lot of people.
A lot of women or guys (depending on your persuasion) under 30 will love this fragrance. Its easy to wear, not too strong, cloying or over bearing. It’s fruity especially in the opening and playful. Its not a scent you would wear if you want to make a serious statement but on those casual days above 55 degrees this frag works. It’s very versatile and can be worn in 3 of 4 seasons. It lasts for about 5-6 hours and projects moderately for about 2 hours before losing its strength. Any man of any age could wear it but it would skew to the younger tastes out there due to its sweetness and simplicity.
Simply Put: if u like Bleu De or Sauvage or fruity fragrances in general you may also like Chic by CH
6.5/10- My personal rating because im not a fan of ‘easy to like’ fruity fragrances as much as others may be. A lot of them tend to not be distinctive for my tastes. But I must admit I find this scent to be very decent and there are places for it in my rotation especially during the spring. I’ve reached for it more in 2015 than CH MEN ironically.
7/10- if i were being completely neutral this would be my rating. To those of you who appreciate light fruity frags with a woody base this is most definitely worth a look.

it almost seems like it is a weakened version of the Chanel Allure line. Fresh with melons but all in all the same category of scents.
It can easily be mistaken as a 4hr old Blue de Chanel or Allure homme sport without the grapefruit/citrus blast that Bleu or Allure homme sport has.
Nice bottle but cheap plastic cap and sprays. On shelves it looks very elegant before you find the black part are made of toy plastic. The sprayer looks like a cheap arcade button from the 80s.
Don’t get me wrong….It smells fantastic. It just reminded me of the fragrances I have. This may be more versatile due to its mild approach. It doesn’t give you a thick scent cloud vibe and I love fragrances like this. It makes you feel refreshed and light. It is a happy positive feeling scent and should brighten up anyone’s day. Is it a reformulation? Maybe. Never owned the old version. IT is like a cologne. Skin scent.
Women here are giving it rave reviews, and that is why I got it immediately. Blind bought it.

Tempting and strong, so don’t be surprised if a lot of women will be staring at you with a smile. It has a good longevity although if you’re living at a tropical countries such as Indonesia. On my husband’s skin, it stays for 12 hours, and good 24 hours if I sprayed on his shirt. Good job.

The Scent
You get the semblance of melon in the opening, not a clean or bright melon, but a sweet-spicy melon-like scent mixed with some inoffensive peppers. This is the best part, and unfortunately only lasts in the opening. The mid dabs into some “cinnamon” which smells to me like pencil shavings. Thankfully, the mid is also short lived. The drydown introduces a vanilla-amber combo, which is very pleasant, although nothing groundbreaking or unique.
The Performance
Lasts 7-10 hours. Projection is about 2 feet after five sprays for half of its life. Sillage is average. Does die down to a skin scent after about 4 hours.
The Versatility
Fall and Spring are ideal, although you might be able to pull it off in the Winter. The peppers in this would make it a bit difficult to pull this off in the hot Summers of Houston here. Very apt for the office/school, date, and just casual occasions given it’s performance. Works well on anyone under 40, maybe save for anyone under 16.
The Value
Excellent at ~$40 online.

Chic for men used to be one of my favorites since it was released in 2004. The smell was so nice, pleasant, not overpowering and very soft.
These well-blended fresh notes (lemon, watermelon and bergamot) and spicy accords produced a very elegant, sophisticated, modern and at the same time casual scent. It was perfect for every occasion and time of the year. I fell in love with it since I tried it for the first time.
But from a few years ago to these days it has been reformulated and pretty watered down. Now it doesn’t smell chic, but CHEAP; and after an hour of wearing it, it smells like traces of a good fragrance that you’ve just put on five or six days ago. This new reformulation has a very bad performance talking about projection and longevity. The scent is still good, but not the wonderful piece it used to be. Even after that, it is still on my top 3 of Carolina Herrera Fragrances.
**Please Mrs. Herrera I need an intense/eau de parfum version of this, not another summer/surf/on ice/whatever… version of 212.

I’m not a big fan of CH, but this fragrance, it’s really good.
I recently tested CH Men, liked it a lot so i thought this might be great as well, and YES IT IS!
It starts off with fruity notes, i mostly get lemon and watermelon (watermelon is stronger than all the fruits here IMO), a bit orange.
Then comes the stage of spices. I get a spicy aroma (with watermelon aspect to it), cardamom mostly, i do get pepper but i don’t get the cinnamon much. And after that it dries down to a woody vibe, and the pepper stays with a little bit of watermelon. People voted watermelon the most as the main note but for me its the pepper.
Overall its a great fruity, spicy fragrance, masculine and sweet not sexy to me its sweet.
Projection is not that much great, projects well in the first hour and then close to the skin. Would’ve like it a lot if it projected more. Longevity on my skin is good. stays for like 4 hours max.

I usually don’t go for blind buys, but based on the raving reviews I just went for it… And I’m absolutely glad that I did! Chic really lives up to its name. It starts out with a fresh, fruity smell and dries down to a more spicy (but still fresh) scent. A perfect combination of casual and professional.
You can wear this to the office, to college, to dates, to pretty much anything; and where there are girls, compliments will surely follow. It’s not a mainstream scent at all, which results in a lot of people asking me what I’m wearing. It feels good to smell nice AND unique.
If you’re worried about age – am I mature enough? – don’t be. I feel like any age can pull this off. It’s a compliment getter for every man!

I have ch chic bottle 3.4 oz but that is dark colour glass bottle i an 100% sure thats is original bcz longavity,sillage and projection is awsome more than 8 hour on my skin but i have little doubt about colour of bottle

I really like it. It is a very nice office scent to me. Almost perfect for work. Why? Because it is both fresh and warm. I get the melon and the citrus, adding freshness to the opening. Then there are cinnamon, tonka bean and pepper, dominating the pleasant dry down. The scent is not in Your face or cloing in any way, so You will not offend anyone.
Then there unforturnatly are performance issues. I use two full sprays on my wrist. Chic for men lasts about four hours with moderate to soft sillage (Beginning at four inches, and at the end of the fourth hour about one inch.) Three full sprays at my neck -about the same result. I have not been able to get five full hours out of it. After about six hours it´s completely gone.
7/10 (Very nice scent, versatile, perfect for the office, but a bad performer)
A very good office scent that will last about half the working day. Bring it and reapply during lunch!

So after seeing this on shelves for the past few years and ignoring it, I decided to put my nose on this.
Wow.
This stuff is really nice. Sweet and fresh opening with citrus and watermelon…followed by cinnamon, woods and tonka bean. Nice drydown and something I can see myself getting compliments on. I was able to buy a bottle of this at a fragrance place I go to that sells older stock. I checked the serial number on checkcosmetics.net and I picked up a bottle made in 2010….not a reformulated bottle!
Overall a nice fragrance I plan on wearing in warm (but not super hot) weather this summer and fall.

I am not usually a fan of CH fragrances,but this seems to suit my skin.
A fresh,crisp,slightly fruity composition which stays very crisp & clean for ages.
Not exciting enough to wear on a date,but perfectly acceptable for daily wear.
The longevity is excellent but sillage is average.
A good,but rather average fragrance,great to wear to work/office etc.

Gorgeous top notes on this one from Carolina Herrera. Luckily managed to find it in a store which carried lots of discontinued (don’t know if this has been?) or scents you just don’t see very much at least.
I love the citrus opening which changes to a melon freshness that doesn’t seem too cheap. There’s a touch of pepper and cardamom, cedar and tonka bean lending some sophistication and Chic has a gentle musky base.
The territory of this fragrance is a well trodden one and I can’t say it sticks out all that much but I can’t deny it’s extremely pleasant and worthy of a wear.
I’d choose this over lots of other mainstream fodder just for the fresh fruitiness of that melon note.
Longevity and projection are average to subtle on my skin.

Perfect for close encounters with the ladies…more like a lady killer.apply a minimum of 6 sprays around the neck then u are good to go.Average longevity depending on how many sprays u apply.
