Interesting (as in weird) mineral-sweet-green start, the same pea note as in B Balenciaga, and then a long-lasting drydown, quite synthetic to my nose, ressembling the bitter-soft trail of colognes. If this is a childern’s fragrance, then its potential buyers are the parents who don’t really love theirs.

Annick Goutal is a brand I have a ton of respect for. Whilst I don’t love every fragrance that is released from this house, I see merit in each and every one. Those few that I have enjoyed over the years have been bought promptly and without so much as a glance at the price tag.
I’m on the fence in regards to fragrances for young children. They are born with such soft, unblemished skin that it almost seems strange to want to apply alcohol-rich perfumes or preservative driven chemicals to their delicate bodies. Chat Perché is marketed however as a fragrance for anyone between 3 – 99 years of age, so it doesn’t necessarily have to be worn as a children’s fragrance.
As would be expected, Chat Perché is a soft, delicate fragrance with a clean musk focus. The heart is comprised of softly sweetened lemon blossom, sweet pea and nasturcia. Chat Perché isn’t a very long-lasting fragrance, nor does it have a lot of throw. It would be a great fragrance for someone that has an allergy or a tendency to get migraines when wearing perfume. In being a fragrance suitable to be worn by a toddler, I would assume that its ingredients are non-allergenic, even possibly organic.
My favourite Annick Goutal fragrances are those with rather strong projection and bold floral accords, so it’s of no surprise that Chat Perché isn’t one that I will be adding to my collection. I do appreciate it, however, for being soft and unobtrusive, which is something I find the current fragrance market to be severely lacking in.

From the official “Goutal Paris” site:
“Capturing childhood memories from when time seemed to stand still, moments we long to keep with us forever…
Chat Perché is our new invitation for grown ups and little ones to play and celebrate the countless sensations you were used to feel, mesmerized by every single detail of the nature.
Out in the country, children discover with wonderment the joys of nature. Running barefoot through the grass, playing tag, blowing dandelion seeds… And if the cat washes behind its ear to bring rain, it is for children to jump in puddles and spot shapes in the clouds.
Eau de Toilette for grown ups and little ones starting from 3 years old.
EDT 100ml €75”
BUT there is also available:
“Chat Perché / Scented Graphite Pencils
CARAN D’ACHE FOR GOUTAL
Today Goutal and Caran d’Ache are gathering their respective know-how, to come up with high-end graphite pencils, scented with our latest creation: Chat Perché.
Caran d’Ache with its “swiss made” label is well known for designing high quality pencils, using californian cedar wood while staying committed to sustainable development.
4 black pencils €25”
It’s supposed to be a new, childish, interpretation of the hidden/enchanted garden as “Petite Chérie” was in the past ^_^

I read somewhere that this is a perfume for children. I still have a bottle of Eau de Bonpoint, which was created by Annick Goutal herself. Will be interesting to see how this compares.
